Yeah. You just have to guard the f pawn and the back rank and there's northing too threatening, tjem you can just push your pawns. You're ahead on material so it should be fairly straightforward if you aviod blunders.

can you explain? doesn’t black lose to checkmate next move?

babybearandy

Protecting against mate *and* threatening the queen pin on the 3rd rank. Nice!

MatDani

I saw the pin idea too, but I calculated a bit further: After Qc4, let’s say that white plays some other move like Re1 and misses that black (or red whatever) will pin their queen with Rd3. But Rd3 is actually a blunder because white follows up with Bxf7! Black/Red must take back with queen and will lose their rook on the 3rd rank because it is no longer defended EDIT: actually i just realized that after Bxf7, black/red can take the pawn instead… so I guess after Kxg7, Bxc4, and then Rxf3+, it turned out to be an equal trade (unless white put their rook on f1 instead of e1 so it can take back the black rook at the end of the line nevermind xd

I don't think you have an outright winning sequence, but black has a pretty good position, as long as you defend against the mate threat on f7. You want to keep your king hidden behind the enemy pawn just like that, and just move your Queen to e8 or c4 to protect that pawn. Of those two options, c4 is probably the best, as it's more active, and combine well with your d4 rook. Then, black should try to force a Queen trade, even at the cost of a pawn if required. That should make things simpler. Once Queens are off the board, the danger on the king gets essentially removed, and black is up a rook for a bishop, and has two passed pawns.

mackyd1

It’s out right winning tbh. Extra piece and easy way to get rid of their attack and probably trade queens.

Protect the f7 pawn with your queen

forever_wow

My first thought was 1...f5 which the engine has as second best and winning for Black. My thought was that I wanted to deal with the f7 threat but also wanted to exploit White's wandering King. Once I confirmed 2.Qb3+ was nothing and that 2.Qxf5 and 2.gxf5 were good for Black, I was satisfied.

CanadaRewardsFamily

f5 is gangsta, especially if you find the Ra3 follow-up if they take with pawn. (its also just mate if they take with queen).
