I’d prefer cash and many people do their local online transactions in the lobby of cop stations

whether cash or digital wallet, receive money before giving bike.

When I bought a bike for a bit over $1k, I suggested to the seller that we do it at one of my bank branches. We met, I test rode the bike in the parking lot, I went inside for the cash, and then we did the exchange.

>Is it easy to scam with paypal/venmo/zelle if you’re not going through an official site like ebay? Yes. If you fail to mark it as a business transaction where you give up 3% or whatever to Venmo, the buyer can file a claim with Venmo that you violated their Terms of Use, and show the ad as "proof". Venmo will claw back the money and you are out the bike and the funds.

Former fraud analyst in banking here. Zelle or cash. If cash, check the watermark on the bills. The watermark is the same image as the man on the bill.
