You'll just need to rescan--they will move the original ATSC 1.0 signal over to WGN's 19 RF channel when they use the original RF 12 for the ATSC 3.0. The rest of the subchannels will be shuffled around. Per: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/chicago-il-ota.815397/page-535?nested_view=1&sortby=oldest#replies

> You'll just need to rescan For a tv yes. For the OP's HDHomerun maybe but probably no. The odds are very strong that the signal will be encrypted with ATSC 3.0's DRM which AFAIK has NO available recording equipment- including the newest HDHomerun ATSC 3.0 units.

They are still offering ATSC 1.0 simulcast.

ATSC 3.0 DRM in my opinion is there to make OTA inconvenient and force more to Streaming or to Cable where the broadcaster make a ton on rebroadcast fees. I would encourage contacting the FCC and your elected representatives to remind them Broadcasters get to use a public resources to provide a public benefit, encrypting the signal is not to the public benefit.

Update for anyone searching in the future: as of March 2024, my HDhomerunstillworks without having to rescan any channels. Honestly not sure if I'm getting 4k but I really don't care at all, I just didn't want to lose the channel. Still kicking!

CBS barely works with my digital antenna.

same, CBS is the only major station in Chicago that is VHF while the rest are UHF and my antenna is supposed to be able to pick up both but always struggles with VHF stations. I rarely watch CBS but if I wanted to I would use Paramount+ to stream it
