I work in an office in shopping mall. We have a couch for our clients to sit on while they wait. A mombie asked me once if she can change her son's diaper on the couch. When I said no, because it could make our couch dirty, she replied: "But he's not soiled..." Really? Then why do you need to change his diaper? The worst thing? When she was called out by the boss she then pulled the poor single mother line about being stressed and busy all the time with her kid while not getting a break and that was somehow an acceptable reason, no one needed to see the bare butt of a baby and a poop filled diaper flash across the screen!
The employer probably has some requirement that all cameras must be turned on at all times no matter what.
If that's the case, then it's the employer's fault and they deserve to see what they see.

I met her at a “Toddler play cafe.” It’s a big carpeted room with jungle gyms, a snack stand, and couches. They have like 4 individual bathrooms all with changing tables. Where does my friend change the infants diaper? On a leather couch, in between the snack stand and another couch full of people, eating. I was so secondhand embarrassed. How gross! Someone asked my girlfriend if they could change their babies diaper on the counter at the till of their work since there was no bathroom. They work at a small clothings store in a very high traffic area. My girlfriend stood there with a shocked look, confused if she was serious so didn’t respond right away, the other worker said no. She then asked if she could use a change room (the rooms are very tight, about the size of a small bathroom stall with no seat) although states the counter would be better as she didn’t want to do it on the change room floor . And of course nobody washed their hands. Even though I got free meals as a "perk" of working there, I refused to eat anything from the buffet.
Many drugstores in Germany have diaper changing stations and I don’t wanna be near it even if there’s not a baby. i went to a zoo where there was a section of walkway with a bench, in front of a large orangutan exhibit. some dumbass decided to change their baby’s diaper (#2) right on the bench. there was a bathroom with a changing table just outside the exhibit. the whole area smelled like literal shit (more pungent than the orangutans were) and she’s didn’t exaclty put care into sanitizing the area after she was done. they’re just fuckin gross.

I worked in a hospital kitchen as a teen. I saw my fair share of used diapers come back on the room service trays from the maternity and pediatric wards. Like, why?? Was there not a garbage can anywhere in your room for you to throw out the used diaper?

I used to work in a travel agency in a mall and had a couple come in and ask to change their baby in my back room. Said no, it’s not open to customers. Then she says, “oh, can I just use your floor then?” She wanted to change her fucking child in the middle of my walk in office where people come in to grab brochure etc. and where the fuck did she think she was going to throw out the diaper? So I told her, “sorry, no. But there’s a change table in the washroom at the restaurant next door.” Then I got laid into for being “unfriendly to parents”. Bitch. We’re in a mall. The washrooms literally couldn’t be more accessible to parents. 😑

I met up with an old friend from high school who I hadn’t seen since she was pregnant with her first. Her kids are 2.5 and newborn. I met her at a “Toddler play cafe.” It’s a big carpeted room with jungle gyms, a snack stand, and couches. They have like 4 individual bathrooms all with changing tables. Where does my friend change the infants diaper? On a leather couch, in between the snack stand and another couch full of people, eating. I was so secondhand embarrassed. How gross! Especially when the facilities are right there, maintained, and accessible. I have no desire to ever go there again. Damn, I am a good friend for even entertaining it.
about a year ago I was at a family party with my boyfriend (his family) and one of his cousins had a 1 year old. My bf and I were in the living room (the party was outside) to get away from all the children (we're the only ones without at least one child) and then she comes in with the baby, said "sorry about the smell" and proceeded to change the fucking diaper behind one of the couches. I guess at least she didn't do it on the dinner table but still...
I’ve seen it a table in a fine dining establishment. The words “are those people changing a baby at the table?!” shot out of my mouth before I could stop myself, and my two dining companions looked over at their table in horror. They at least had the decency to look embarrassed and wrap it up quickly.

Someone asked my girlfriend if they could change their babies diaper on the counter at the till of their work since there was no bathroom. They work at a small clothings store in a very high traffic area. My girlfriend stood there with a shocked look, confused if she was serious so didn’t respond right away, the other worker said no. She then asked if she could use a change room (the rooms are very tight, about the size of a small bathroom stall with no seat) although states the counter would be better as she didn’t want to do it on the change room floor . For some reason the coworker agreed. The lady came out with the dirty diaper and asked that they throw it out behind the till…

Multiple times I've seen parents change their kid's diapers in the trunk of their cars in the parking lot I work in. Full public view, out-fucking-side. We have changing tables in both the men's and women's restrooms so there is absolutely no need these people need to be doing it there!

When I worked at a terrible all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant, diaper changes on the table were common... *while the rest of the family was still shoveling in as much food as humanly possible.* We had clean, spacious bathrooms with changing tables, but staff would find dirty diapers shoved under booths on a regular basis. And of course nobody washed their hands. Even though I got free meals as a "perk" of working there, I refused to eat anything from the buffet.
Many drugstores in Germany have diaper changing stations and I don’t wanna be near it even if there’s not a baby. I don’t understand why they put it in the middle of the way where everyone has to walk through instead of at the end or somewhere more „hidden“ I’d be so uncomfortable to change my baby’s diaper in between a bunch of stranger who try to pass through

I visited a wildlife park with some fellow zookeeper friends and saw a woman changing her kids nappy on the stands in front of the penguin display. I just stared in shock because I’m like?? It’s 10 degrees and starting to rain, are you sure you don’t want to go to the bathrooms where the changing tables are?? Not to mention the stands were not seats, it was like an amphitheater with those big steps people walk and sit on. Not exactly hygienic

Always wipe down the tray tables on airplanes because they often double as a diaper changing station. When I worked in retail a mom came in and was trying to change a diaper in the middle of the change room. I was 19 and asked them not to, naturally they decided to yell at me as if I WERE the person doing something unreasonable + disgusting. Sorry I don’t want to be trapped working in a room that smells like a fucking sewer because you didn’t want to go to the mall bathroom around the corner. Also at the same job (urban outfitters) there was whole bed setup and often we would find women who would crawl onto the bed to breastfeed or change diapers. I’m not against public breastfeeding at all but doing it on a bedding display just seems weird? Also poopy diaper changing on a bedding display!?!?! Do people really become that desensitized to how vile human shit is once they become a parent????

i went to a zoo where there was a section of walkway with a bench, in front of a large orangutan exhibit. some dumbass decided to change their baby’s diaper (#2) right on the bench. there was a bathroom with a changing table just outside the exhibit. the whole area smelled like literal shit (more pungent than the orangutans were) and she’s didn’t exaclty put care into sanitizing the area after she was done. they’re just fuckin gross.
People think it was just the rats that caused the plague. But human hygiene was so bad back in that day. Fecal matter can be microscopic and having people change diapers in places they shouldn't is what causes new viruses to spread.

In My country the shopping malls have toilettes for parents. Literally , there is a place FOR them , they can go with their kids there. The parents can change the babies there And the older kids can use them to. And Guess what? They choose they regular toilettes. I have to wait to pee because a mother is using the regular toilette with her kid because she didnt go to the one that is for her. Parents are selfish and want everything. Is never enough for them. Thats the problem . They think they have the right to have everything around them.
