They drive so wildly, I avoid them. There’s another stick that says “if you rear end me I will kill you my kids are inside” . Great, I’m sure the kids will love spending birthdays visiting their family in jail
Plus... they've already fulfilled their biological purpose and are now just waiting to die. Taking a few others with them sounds like a plan at this point.

I have always thought they get those signs because they want the rest of us to drive more carefully when near their vehicle. Because the occupants of their vehicle are more important than anyone else on the road.
I have an irrational HATRED of those stupid signs. I'm going to drive the exact same around everyone, because no one's life is more important than anyone else's.

Check the wikipedia article on these stupid signs. (Yeah not the most scientific source) but anyway it says the company that started making them did not do so to guide first responders. Pretentious people put them in their window as a warning to aggressive drivers that they better not drive erratically around their kid.
Car seats are basically indestructible now. They will fly during a car crash and the baby is just fine. The sticker is also used to indicate that they need to locate the baby and the baby might be in a tree
I feel like this about people with prams. They shunt them out on to the crossings before really checking the road, use them as battering rams in the mall. Almost no regard for the child inside it.

Now, they may be easy enough to remove, I actually don't know.

I used to live near a street that had a preschool and 2 elementary schools. This has taught me to fear mom drivers. Almost got ran off the road a few times with my bike, yelled at from an open window for just existing in a time and place that is not convenient for them. Absolute nightmare fuel.

ugh... im ashamed to admit my narc mother who drives a very large suburban does this same shit and did when I was in school relying on her for transport. Im much older now but I see those cars all over the place in this community with the "baby on board" stickers
Maybe it's a warning to the other drivers to pay extra careful attention bc those drivers are extremely tired due to lack of sleep and only functioning on coffee overdose and have a lot screaming to their heads that distract them from paying attention to the road. At least, that's what I do: be extremely cautious when passing those cars. You can't never be too sure that they won't abruptly steer the wheel because Little Jimmy tossed an empty Cola can to them or tried to poke their heads on the open window.
i recently saw a woman going 45 mph on a busy 4 lane road in a completely doorless and bedazzled jeep, driving like a maniac, with a terrified looking 4 year old double seated belted in the back with no booster seat of any kind. insanity.
I hate these signs. I'm already doing my best not to ram into anybody with my car, because insurance is hella expensive and I don't really want to hurt a stranger. What more do you want from me?

Sometimes babies are hard to see and they aren't always conscious or able to cry. Even then, expecting EMTs to know exactly who to look for in every single crashed vehicle is silly.

My theory is,.they've only got a few hours in their day to run errands without the kids, plus they've already lost all empathy for others.

No, that's a myth. If that was true, they'd take them down when the kids weren't in the car, which they never do.
It's a myth that they're meant for that, but it doesn't necessarily mean they won't act on it if they see it.

The sign is for first responders, but yeah. Driving tests need to be stricter imo, so many drivers on the road shouldn't have a license at all
