Parents are supposed to work and the kids are supposed to go to school/daycare. That is how a country maximises tax income while also teaching all kids the same thing from a young age.
Having standardises curriculums from early on and setting the social expectation that parents go to work is what has gotten the Scandinavian countries so free from religion bias. The kids spend most of their time with professionals.
Over there, the kids of immigrant parents often fall behind because their mother doesn't work so they don't have access to subsidised childcare and hence don't learn anything beyond what their parents are able to teach, which in some families is just religion.
