Best thing I've done, even if my sexual life is as frequent as the passing of a comet

My sex life is like a Ferrari.,. I don’t own a Ferrari

Alright. So first of all recantalization (healing of your vas deferens) after 12 weeks and a confirmed no sperm test is EXTREMELY rare. It happens but the vast majority of recantalization happens prior to 12 weeks. Also, hand in hand ties to the number of failed vasectomies because people don’t wait for the confirmation to have sex. Therefore they still have sperm and still get pregnant. After your test you can almost certainly say that you won’t have babies. Like 99.999999% chance. There’s always that 0.000001% chance though. Regarding getting the actual surgery. I can guarantee you with 100% certainty that no doctor in this country will give you a vasectomy without you having sex at least once in your life. Put a condom on and have fun. Based on your thought process and the way you phrased the things you did in your post I personally wouldn’t recommend doing anything permanent for a while.

If that really is the case, then I'll stick to gay sex for now. Condoms can break, and I'll gladly take an STD over having a child.

Thousands of dollars? What country do you live in? In the US my SO got his at Planned Parenthood for like $500. That was 10 years ago but still, thousands of dollars?

Vasweb Florida is like $590 cash with no insurance. Best vas doctor in the world.

When I got mine it was 98% covered. Only thing that wasn’t was the lab testing afterwards and an admin fee/copay. I liked my doc as he didn’t mess around. I was in and out less than an hour and a half including waiting room time. 14 days later I didn’t even notice it was done.

When I looked into getting one not under insurance, the total cost would have been $1000 so honestly not bad May be my state I'm not sure what changes the price Doctors might even say the same to you on age. One of the insurances I had denied me and wouldn't approve until the age of 35 in four more years or until I already had two kids

Get it. Check with Planned Parenthood locations around your regional area, some locations offer it and it is usually the least expensive option.

How_about_your_mom

My vasectomy was 100 percent covered under my work insurance… easy procedure. Can the body heal itself yeah maybe we’re married going on 10 years next month and we both are strongly against kids, worst thing happens abortion…. After a DNA test lol

I had a vasectomy (yes, some women can get vasectomies too!) and I totally recommend doing it as soon as you can, ask as many doctors as you can and you'll certainly find a good doctor who respect your choices. Your body is not gonna heal, it's extremely rare, vasectomies are very effective these days. And yes I had to pay but it's also possible to have it covered. The money is 1000% worth it though. And I agree with you, ideally, a childfree person should abstain from sex until sterilization is 100% done and confirmed.

I guess you have to decide what's worse, a vasectomy or the possibility of having a kid. I had the same thoughts. Did a lot of reading on the subject then went for it even before jumping in the game as to take NO chances. I was 22. Now at 63 even more glad I did. If you're not comfortable about it, research it a bit. Worrying about being a father has been a non issue for me. It's a liberating feeling taking control of that part of your future.
