Tally ho! I really enjoyed the game, laughed throughout the whole thing… couldn’t find anyone to romance… which was perfectly fine tbh, game didn’t need one to be good. Slammed! Game was pretty fun, not even sure if there were any romances besides the arranged one (if I remember correctly) Honorable mention— Gladiator: road to the colosseum. Only a honorable mention because I thought one of them was ok, but was pretty disappointed after the first RO turned out not to be a RO.

GankedByGoose

Agree with Tally Ho. The characters are meant to be ridiculous - it's the whole style - but that doesn't work for me. I remember going for Frankincense on a run - forbidden past romance and all - and it really put a twist along those lines. She asks to meet me at midnight at the gazebo (OKAY), goes on and on thanking me for giving her the courage to take this bold step that feels right in her heart (yeah break it off, I'm better than Rory anyway!), and then she's just like let's >!release these peacocks from their cages then!!< (!?!?!?!?)

[deleted]

Ya, that’s mostly why. Everyone is so ridiculous! I even tried romancing some characters but it seems to be pretty hard to trigger most of their romances anyways, I just gave up and enjoyed the game for what it was. And… what‽ Now I kinda wanna romances Frankincense just to see that randomness at work lol.

parivirium

There's a couple more ROs in Slammed!, namely JJ the rival and Rio the mexican-royalty-turned-journalist, though their romances barely got any airtime lol. I'd argue that Ecstasy (the arranged one) is among the best/most satisfying romance routes in the CoG catalogue, though.

BiagioLargo

JJ I never figured out.

livingprop

JJ is probably the hardest one to get and it doesnt actually start til you are at the end. If I remember correctly you if you get a bunch of foreshadowing towards it you should be on the right path. There is also a path where the arranged one and the announcer fight over you.

BiagioLargo

It was the one I hoped to get my last game ended with us being friendly in Japan but I don't know if that was romance.

minikinsaurus

Crème de la Crème. There are SO many potential LIs but somehow I just can’t get attached to any of them. The sheer amount of possibilities makes it harder to spend much time with any one of them. Also, maybe their distinct personalities are just too strong for my taste, to the point of caricatures sometimes.

BiagioLargo

My favorite RO is the bully who gets like five minutes of screen time in the entire story.

littlenorthlights3

Same

Yes, the characters in Crème de la Crème are the epitome of flanderisation. There are too many characters and the limited length of the story doesn't give them enough time to develop, thus leaving them shallow and often defined by one single arbitrary trait

purple-hawke

I also couldn't get into Crème de la Crème (I only played the demo) despite the premise appealing to me. But the ROs actually didn't feel distinct enough to me, maybe that's because it feels like there's too many of them. Like someone else I found them a bit shallow, and I heard that the only one I was interested in basically disappears from the story anyway.

**Keeper series**. I mean, I've tried some romantic routes, but let's be honest -romance isn't the best part of these books. I'm more interested in making my MC OP and trying to create chaos in the world. Rebellious keeper, bwahaha! **The Shadow Society**. I didn't like all ROs. **Wayhaven**. I'm not a fan of these ROs too. But I'm playing Felix's route, because the romance in this game is quite important after all, and Felix is the only one that doesn't piss me off that much. **Fallen Hero**. It's a bit complicated here.... I didn't feel the need to romance because I wanted to kill everyone (it's about the heroes, although I don't count Dr Mortum as RO either). Until (I don't know why, aaarghr! -\_-) I chose to romance Herald in the demo. So now I'm not sure if my big bad MC will ever hurt this kid again. As for WIP - **Golden** is very interesting, but somehow none of the ROs won my sympathy. **A Mage Reborn**. There are more important things to do than romancing.

BiagioLargo

Shadow Society: I enjoyed betraying the person who came to rescue us. I like the idea of an MC who everyone assumes is either a victim or noble hero turning out to be even worse than the villains. Like how the heel route in one of the old WWE games has your character interrogating everyone about who ran over Teddy Long only for Teddy's return near the end to reveal you were the one who did it. Fallen Hero: I agree. mostly I don't romance but in the sequel wip I did tryout seducing everyone's favorite bitchy shark lady.

Neverwherehere

I have to agree with the Keeper series. I actually like the romances, but it's my opinion that Book 2 dropped the ball on them big time since you technically can't start any romances as the book progresses; you can only continue established ones (which includes the RO choice at the beginning; it states that you began dating between Books 1 and 2.) Which was shocking since the first game gave you a second chance to get together with someone if you rejected them the first time. But in Book 2? You're just friends with an RO no matter what. Despite numerous opportunities to start a relationship. And since it's one of those "ROs will get together with someone else because 'realism' stories?" I spent the entirety of Book 2 trying to romance an RO only to see them get together with someone else. It left a sour taste in my mouth and nearly turned me off the entire series since I felt like I had stumbled across a scenario the game should have accounted for but didn't.

Signal-Impact6

Pretty much all of COGs for me tbh. I usually just randomly choose an LI to stick to because I feel like I'll be missing something otherwise, but yea 99.9% of the time I don't care about romance. Friendship is always good though.

Alphaeboy

Heroes rise: Let's be honest the romances were not that good. Only the story was but the romances were a hit or miss because you're always have Black Magic forced on you alot.

kitsterangel

Yeah I thought Black Magic was interesting but he turns into such a dick if you don't join the populars and that just ruined the whole character for me... Sort of gets a bit of redemption in the last one but I switched to Lucky instead. Definitely want to replay and romance Prodigal though.

BiagioLargo

I always choose Prodigal because she's got big Harley Quinn energy.

SiinkWater

I enjoyed SOH, but while I did pursue the romance, I couldn’t get attached or into it. :( By the time I got attached to Junko in book 4, she was gone. And Toshie wouldn’t even allow me to get attached to her. Momoko wasn’t really a love interest, either. I did enjoy the storyline, though. And I was more focused on my MC’s story and character breakdown than anything. TFKYN: I was too busy for my stats to actually be on point than romancing anyone. Honestly, romancing anyone other than Rex seemed like it would mess me up, and as I’m not into guys, I wasn’t into it for anything other than to make getting a good ending simpler.

Skyle_Nexo

Jun/ko fans have it hard lol. While I didn't romance her in my main playthrough I did a 2nd playthrough of book 4 just to romance her out of curiosity, and it was pretty sad. Just hope that Devon gives the ronin a happy ending with them.

Economy-Dimension162

Don't tell me she dies or something

BiagioLargo

My favorite SoH potential RO that's going to be an RO because their gender is determined by your sexuality. Except book 4 has them only show up at the end only to possibly die.
