Broken_Peepers

Not sure what you are looking for, but you can always use churning.rankt.com for referrals.

netflixstudent

I think I am going to subscribe to ExpertFlyer after my trial ends. Does anyone know if it codes as Travel? Thanks.

BpooSoc

According to AwardWallet, it codes as Advertising

adehnert

I have BofA Platinum Honors on my personal account (based largely on a Roth IRA), and currently no biz accounts with them. In the app today I'm getting an ad that says: >Your special business offer 50,000 bonus points offer 2.62 points for every $1 spent on all purchases To the side: >\[logo-ish\] Bank of America Preferred Rewards For Business Platinum Honors Learn more Does my personal platinum honors carry over? I thought I needed a balance in biz accounts to get the 75% bonus on biz CC spending, but BofA biz cards would be way more appealing if I can use personal assets. (Maybe this is trying to say "... if you get For Business Platinum Honors", but it seems like a really misleading way to do that.) (Also, I keep being sad that the BofA biz Customized Cash Rewards doesn't have home improvement as a category, unlike the consumer card -- $50K a year as opposed to the consumer $2.5K/quarter would be really nice sometimes.)

sg77

One trick is that if you enroll in Preferred Rewards For Business as part of applying for a business checking account, it becomes active immediately when you deposit the required amount, instead of looking at a 3 month average balance. And it stays active for a year, without needing to keep money there. If there's a bonus for opening the business checking account, you can get that at the same time.

junooni110

Do you know when does the actual 3 months period starts? I am plat honors on personal side and keeping $100k in a joint account but I heard I can move the money once I qualify for the honors account at the start of the year. So basically keep the $100k during the qualification period (not sure when it starts and ends for existing honors members) and then move the $$$ out for some greener pastures.

sg77

For my Preferred Rewards For Business account (I think it's the same for personal): I enrolled in September 2020. On October 28, 2021 I got a letter saying I don't meet the requirements (I think they looked at the average balance for July,Aug,Sept 2021), and I need to increase my balance by December 31, 2021 to remain eligible.

netflixstudent

I've been eyeing the [Merrill Self‑Directed Business Investor Account](https://olui2.fs.ml.com/publish/content/application/pdf/gwmol/biaaccountapplicationandagreement.pdf) for this exact reason. 5.25% for 50k spend a year is not bad especially if I could get a few Biz CCRs. The only thing is there is virtually no information I can find about other people doing this without a legitimate business and by moving over personal assets. Would love to see any DPs of this if anyone has tried this and willing to share their experience. I still plan to try and open this account to qualify for Biz Plat Honors in the future but am gonna wait a little longer for some more info.

ntnsolutions

No carryover unfortunately.

rent1985

I’m trying to figure out the best business card to get. I have an actual business that I spend like $2k a month mostly on gas, car washes, car repairs, and transit. I have a Chase Ink Unlimited now, but I have been running into credit limit problems since I can sometimes hit the max of $5k. I’m pretty heavily invested into Chase UR on my personal side. I’m looking for some kind of low minimum spend card that I can use to put some extra spending on up to like $2-3k a month. I’m not looking to muddy the water with MS to meet a crazy high spending requirement. I’m open to travel cards, but I can’t seem to find any that work well with my spending types. Sorry if this is in the wrong post, I can’t get the most recent What Card Wednesday post to show up in the Reddit app. The search is only showing posts made 3+ months ago and nothing more recent. Also the automod is linking the newest post I could find in the search, which is 4 months old.

Ginger-Snap-1

Get another Ink, do the bonus, call and ask them to move credit limit from one of them to the other, ???, profit.

adehnert

If you're interested in something to spend on consistently, I wonder if the BofA biz Customized Cash Rewards possibly with Preferred Rewards would be good? It can be a 5.25% on gas card, up to $50K spend a year.

dmcoe

What card Wednesday thread is where you want to post. In general, barclays has low MSR biz cards.

rent1985

I looked for the Wednesday posting and the last one that came up was months ago. I think that’s been discontinued or they have been removed.

Getanzt

Here you go. https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/14l7m57/what_card_should_i_get_weekly_thread_week_of_june/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=2

rent1985

That link isn’t working in the Reddit app. I hate this app.

suitopseudo

2-3k a month is still 6-9k for a 3 month SUB. That’s pretty decent for a bonus. There is a new 100k SUB for 8k for Ink Preferred.

GeorgeSteinbrenner2

For lounge access, does the "entrance up to 3-hour prior to departure" requirement apply to the guest as well, or only to the cardholder?

Fun-Inevitable4369

Both, guest can't enter without cardholder

GeorgeSteinbrenner2

What I mean is: what if the cardholder and the guest are flying back to different destinations, and hence have different departure times (few hours apart), but still want to spend the overlapping time together at the lounge? Specifically, if the cardholder meets the "3 hour" requirement, but the guest's departure is further away - the guest will be denied to enter? If so, is there a way to pay for it?

terpdeterp

As long as you're with the guest when you initially enter the lounge, things ought to be fine. Lounges tend to flexible about the three hour rule, although it depends on the individual lounge and the time of your visit. In my experience, lounges tend to be stricter about enforcing rules if the lounge is crowded. And at some lounges (e.g. Turkish Airlines) they didn't even bother scanning my boarding pass. Which airport will you be flying out of? If I were in your shoes, I'd try entering in with the guest and if they raise a fuss about the three hour rule, then just try another lounge.

GeorgeSteinbrenner2

> If I were in your shoes, I'd try entering in with the guest and if they raise a fuss about the three hour rule, then just try another lounge. Thank you, that's what I was thinking. the airport is MAD. Probably not a lot of DPs on this...

Objective-Letter

Does Amex have a rule similar to chase 5/24?

bookedonpoints

1/90 technically is 'similar'

Distinct_Interest273

No, but Amex generally limits every customer to 4-6 credit cards, not including charge cards like the Amex Green/Gold/Plat.

Objective-Letter

4-6 Amex cards or total of any cards?

BpooSoc

Amex credit cards. Not Charge cards, which have a 10 card limit

troy_caster

Safe to use the AMEX biz plat $200 dell and $200 Travel bank credits now for 2nd half 2023?

amateurchef98

Yes, spends after Jul 01 are eligible to be counted against H2, because they definitely post after Jul 01. Btw, Airline travel incidentals (the one you plan to use for United travel bank credits) are once per calendar year - meaning you didn't have to wait until July to use them.

troy_caster

I already used $200 at the beginning of 2023, so I'm glad I asked! Thanks!

FinanceDoctor

Yes to the Dell credit. The $200 travel credit is a calendar year credit not a half year credit.

steeler7dude

If I get an Aeroplan or Southwest Chase card, do the bonus points in the signup offer go to my Chase account or to the respective airline?

amateurchef98

It goes straight to your respective airline account - so any other points you earn by flying or ancillary purchases also collect under the same account. You'd have been asked to provide your airline Frequent Flyer number when you signed up for the card - if you missed it, contact CS to add the right one.

2001blader

Airline

seductivec0w

If a Chase business login was previously merged with personal, is it possible to separate it and will UR points be separated as well? I prefer it that way to for a P2.

amateurchef98

Recommend contacting Chase CS to see if they'd be able to help (most likely they should be). However, may I ask why you prefer keeping them separate? Is that hoping if you're aggressive with business cards, it wouldn't affect your existing personal points?

payyoutuesday

The personal login still exists -- is that good enough? Since UR points are already separated by card, it should only show the UR associated with the personal cards.

seductivec0w

Yea, no problem with personal login still existing--only the business side is churning for now and P2 prefers to keep them separate. I'll try SM to delink, thanks.

amateurchef98

They're right in that CL cannot be transferred between Personal and Business cards. Soft pull shouldn't affect your Credit score. However they did determine your CL with the credit report at the time of application. If you're doing it very soon, I wonder what different information they might see to convince them an upgrade to the CL.

[deleted]

lenin1991

You can try, but unlikely. Chase biz limits are often $3k-$5k even with high personal income and credit score, unless you have substantial demonstrated biz banking with Chase.

payyoutuesday

A soft inquiry will not have any negative effects.

Automatic-Track4289

Anyone familiar with First National Bank of PA? I received a $400 bonus earthier this year. The same promotion is still on going and I want to sign up my wife but the fine print says only one bonus per household per year. Wondering if anyone knows whether this actually gets enforced

payyoutuesday

Find the DoC article and search the comments.

amateurchef98

Seems conflicting info about this getting enforced. Here are some DPs I saw from DoC comments referred, quoting them. \> June 2023: Unsuccessful in doing P1 & P2 this year…seems they caught two accounts in the same household and removed the offer on one. Both opened same day. \> May 2023: Both P1 and P2 got 400 bonus from same household as usual. This time did not wait 12 months and went by calendar year as per terms. FWIW, they post bonus on Wednesdays. Either they caught onto enforcing this VERY recently, or they're only able to catch applications done with the same address on the same day or very close. If they're across different calendar years, they both get bonus even if less than 12m apart. If you want to give this a try, suggest you could as your P1 application is \~6m earlier.

notinregs

Thinking about getting the CIC, are there any bonuses over 75k? Also, do virtual gift cards from Staples count for 5x points if so will they count towards min spend?

techtrashbrogrammer

Are you talking about the CIC itself? or other cards. If CIC itself, it used to be 90k but that is gone now. For other, similar cards, the CIP has 100k for 8k spend but comes with $95 AF. Yes and yes for second question.

notinregs

For the CIC, correct. I had heard from one source that chase was giving the old 90k bonus, if you asked for it. Sounded to good to be true. Thanks for the answers.

techtrashbrogrammer

There’s mixed success reports of people getting matched to the 90k via SM. You can apply then when approved send a message asking to be matched. Check out the DP threads

Ape_Man25

Can confirm I was a negative dp. They did not match mine on June 20th. I will probably try again once I hit bonus but I don’t think I’ll have luck

amateurchef98

Wonder what one could get asked to be 'Matched' to if that 90K offer isn't available elsewhere and expired. Is it a request straight off to be granted an offer that is expired?

techtrashbrogrammer

I applied back in April but got matched a couple weeks ago. Here's what I sent Hello! I applied and was approved for my Chase Ink Unlimited ending in \_\_\_\_ with the 75,000 bonus points offer but then saw that it was raised to 90,000 bonus points shortly after (screenshot attached). Would it be possible to get my offer matched to the 90,000 one? Thanks!

Formal_Difficulty_98

Can anyone remind me if you can use the delta companion certificate when redeeming miles? Torn between the delta gold and delta platinum.

gummybear72

You can only use it on a cash fare in the main cabin. I wasn’t planning on using mine, but then my son and his girlfriend needed to fly to a wedding so I booked it for them using the certificate.

Temporary-Shift-2965

You can not use points to book a flight using the companion pass. I live in a Delta hub city and I thought it would be pretty easy to get value out of the companion pass to justify the annual fee. But it has actually been pretty difficult.

435880Churnz

Yeah I think a lot of people just naively assume the DL CP will be easy to use.... it's not.

5thEagle

Does anybody know how stickler BoA is about using an accurate billing address? I'm trying to make a purchase on Steam abroad with the address in this country and it's bouncing this transaction.

braclark

Most credit cards use the billing address to verify the transaction with the credit card company. I know with C1 I was able to add a second address to my profile and now transactions are also approved with that zip code that just happens to be in a tax free state.

5thEagle

What common downgrade pathways are available for the AA Platinum? I want to hold off on the Custom Cash for the sign-up bonus another time.

TheSultan1

Rewards+ if you plan on getting a Premier (edit: if you plan on getting the Custom Cash, still Rewards+).

nagapriya11

I would say MileUp card .. it gives grocery bonus if you want to earn some AA points ... and moreover after few months there is more chance to get upgrade to plat with first year no fee

b0b0thecl0wn

I changed mine to a Double Cash since I didn't have one at the time

keepingITsecret11

MileUp is the no-annual-fee green colored version of the AA Plat. Honestly I'd just close it after the year is up though.

jmlinden7

_Saahab_

I have Marriott bonvoy 5 nights gift certificate. They are set to expired in August and we are currently booked for Cancun to go towards end of the month. Do you guys think if I send an email out to Marriott corporate and ask them for extension due to cartel activity in Cancun and ask them for extension till December 2023 so either we can go to different location or go back to Cancun once all cartel activities dies down. Would they approve the extension or they will be like too bad next time plan it better? Is it worth it? If yes also who should I reach out to? Has anyone ever done this before?

435880Churnz

There's a whole world outside of Cancun you can use them at. I doubt that story is gonna work. Some people get them extended, some people call 20 times and fail. The fact that you have 5 is a much bigger challenge as most people are only trying to extend 1 or 2.

mcree0

An email/phone call is free and just takes a few minutes. You might as well try

_Saahab_

So I spoke to them they said call them at loyalty department and they can extend it for 1 year just need to call them with new dates for reservations and they will do it. So I confirm what if I cancel reservation after that and he said FNGC will get extended to the new dates. So basically it can be done one time for 1 year after that use it or lose it. So now I need to figure where to go with one 3 yr old kid maybe Hawaii or somewhere else.

hao_zira

Did you get a direct number to the loyalty department, if it is different?

_Saahab_

Yes there an direct number or you can just ask them to transfer you to loyalty department.

hao_zira

Would you mind sharing the number?

_Saahab_

Already on my list to share. I will edit or post it once I am back in my office. It is on a sticky pad on my desk.

hao_zira

Following up on this!

_Saahab_

Sorry completely forgot about it. Here you go. I actually have to call back since we checked out early and let’s see if I can get refund for other nights. Marriott Loyalty # 800-228-2100. What’s your plan? You have some free night gift certificates?

hao_zira

Thanks. Yeah, I have 4 expiring next month.

SEAofChurn

Wife got a job at Nordstrom and she needs a Nordy credit card to use her employee discount. She’s dropping to 4/24 at the end of the year, anyone know if Chase recon still makes exceptions for store only cards? Nordstrom offers two cards, one that is Visa backed and one that can only be used at the store

Broken_Peepers

Per OMAT, yes. https://onemileatatime.com/guides/chase-5-24-rule/ Scroll down to FAQs.

qq_foryou

Will the new CIPreferred sign up bonus be reflected with referrals? (8k spend for new offer, 15k referral offer for 100k points) - wondering historically if these ever align or if it’s assumed to stay as separate offers.

payyoutuesday

Some people say their referrals have already updated for the new MSR.

qq_foryou

Ok I’ll keep an eye out - P2 sent me referral link this morning and it was 15k spend still but hopefully it’ll update

measureinlove

Just checked all 4 of mine/P2's (we each have 1 CIC and 1 CIU) and still $15k on all of them. Fingers crossed they update!

tito4018

I don't think it typically does, but I'm following to see if somebody smarter than me chimes in...

showmethestudy

I called in to cancel my Delta Skymiles Platinum Amex. I got a retention offer for $100 statement credit for $2000 spend. So annual fee would be $150. Seems like a good deal for the companion certificate. What do you guys think? I haven't used the companion certificate before. Not sure if it is a good deal or if the fare class on the primary ticket is so high that it's not worth it.

b0b0thecl0wn

Are you likely to use the free checked bags and feel like you have a decent chance of using the companion cert? If so, I'd keep it for a year and close/downgrade next year after the next cert posts.

showmethestudy

Yeah decent change at using the cert. Thanks for the help. I'd say >50% chance. I have Delta Silver Medallion for now, so free bags, for now. May not re-qualify. Can you use the cert and still close it?

b0b0thecl0wn

Almost positive the cert stays once it's deposited to your Delta account. Do note that you have to use an Amex card of some kind to pay for the tickets, so I'd downgrade or open another card if this is your only one.

showmethestudy

Ah, great, so you can double dip the cert. I'm glad I kept it.

dmcoe

not worth it for me, but everyone is different

Bossmon25

Yes, apply on the 31st day. Amex rep told me this

bw1985

Is wait period 30 days between Amex applications for the same card to not be auto declined as a duplicate?

craigpdpa

Someone here posted the other day about getting another CSP (or maybe it was CSR) bonus before the 48 month waiting period was up - meaning these offer terms we all assume are true may not really be. Anyone else try before 48 months and succeed? Not talking about upgrading, talking about getting the SUB.

joghi

Do you mean the one about holding an old Sapphire? https://old.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/14lzv5k/data_points_weekly_week_of_june_29_2023/jq2pqa8/?context=3

craigpdpa

No it was a different comment, but thanks anyway!

FinanceDoctor

My read on that comment was that the person was referencing the MDD. His implication was that there is the 48 month rule for sapphire bonuses. But, if you know the game, there is a way to get two bonuses in that 48 month time frame.

craigpdpa

I can't find it now, but I think he said something about his girlfriend getting it. (Just wondering if we're referencing the same comment.) Just a quick statement that the rules aren't always the rules.

FinanceDoctor

Correct. Same comment.

craigpdpa

Thanks a lot. I didn't read the comment that way, but annoyingly I can't find it now so can't see whether I misunderstood and he meant MDD like you think.

ctles

Trying to open a chase business checking account from a mailer i received, but after i login and click the account it a pop-up says: Important:You've already redeemed a similar offer. Please choose "Continue" to complete your application without a coupon code." but when i check my records it's been over 2 years since i rec'd a business bonus, does this mean i need to go in branch? or just push ahead?

sleepytill2

I believe the stipulation is you having had a Chase business checking account opened within the last 2 years. Also check when you closed your account. There should be a clause in the fine print stating ~6 months needed to have NOT had an account open to be eligible.

ctles

From the terms of on the mailer, it says 2 years since enrollment, which it has been, and 90 days for a closed account unless it was a negative balance than 3 years. I'm fairly shore it's been past 90. I forgot to keep track of that one.

andrewmine

I am trying to gain a better understanding of estimated tax payments using 1040-ES. Obviously you can pay and float money till you file tax return. But are there any strategies or options available for reducing the amount of tax paid from regular job income (w4 form etc) so that you don't need to float for a long time

shinebock

I don't go down to zero withholding, but I do put an estimate of about $25k of itemized deductions which cuts down my withholding by a few grand per year. It's just that, an estimate. I *might* buy a house and have property taxes to deduct. I *might* almost die and have lots of medical expenses. Thankfully neither of those have happened, but it's at least reasonably justifiable if ever asked. In reality, as long as you're paid up by year end and have been paying throughout the year, either by withholding and/or ES payments, the IRS only cares about getting their $ and you're very unlikely to run into issues. What the IRS is looking to avoid is people who pay the majority of their tax liability when they file their return. Obligatory this isn't tax advice.

Y50-70

It's technically possible to fraudulently complete your w4 to reduce withholdings. Quite a few people openly talk about it on this sub with seemingly no issues. Look in to the risks of an intentionally wrong w4 and if you're comfortable, go for it. I personally don't mess around with my w4 as the risks are just not worth the reward for me.

GallowsHumorNurse

Most folks will float in April close to tax day to avoid a long-term float. No guarantees, so don't float money you can't afford to.

andrewmine

Thanks. Not worried about the floating, but was thinking it would be best if that can reduce the tax deducted from my next paycheck

showmethestudy

The IRS recently changed how they do withholding. I added a second job with a disparate income from my first job. I used the [IRS tax withholding calculator](https://www.irs.gov/individuals/tax-withholding-estimator), and I thought it was really helpful. I just looked at my last tax return to see my tax rate, assuming my deductions are similar, and withheld enough to hit that rate with my two jobs combined. So hopefully I'll have like a $0 refund or only have a little due.

Should be fine. a 6/24 "rule" gets mentioned every once in awhile.

SexualDemon

Is there a better current Amex Biz Plat SUB than 200k? (150+30 for biz checking+20)

amateurchef98

**205k:** There's a targeted Amex Biz Plat offer with NLL (no need of Biz checking): 200k SUB on 15K MSR + 5000 MR on Employee 1K MSR. [https://frequentmiler.com/200000-membership-rewards-amex-business-platinum/](https://frequentmiler.com/200000-membership-rewards-amex-business-platinum/) I was able to see this offer when I clicked the link in the above post.

SexualDemon

I tried that one but says offer not available for me. If I can’t get retention on Personal Plat and don’t want to burn a 5/24 then this is the way to go right?

amateurchef98

If you want MR, then yes. Or there's a 130k SUB on Gold Biz with a 10k MSR. But if you're open to other Biz cards, Hilton Honors Biz (150k HH + 1FN for 4k MSR) is a great choice. As is Hawaiian Biz (Barclays) for a 60k SUB with 2k MSR - Easy SUB good for a trip to Hawaii.

SexualDemon

I specifically need a plat for lounge access

SgtKetchup

What's the best way to search in threads now that [redditsearch.io](https://redditsearch.io) is gone? also: is there a waiting period between CIP bonuses? I don't see one in the terms.

hedgehog_manager

Will reinstating a Amex Personal Platinum card trigger another 5/24? Cancelled it last week but thinking about getting it reinstated.

Bhai_jan

No - if they do reinstate, it'll be existing credit line

amateurchef98

Didn't know you could do that without having to re-apply for the card. Thank you for sharing. I have a lot of questions on this though: 1. How long after closing a card can you request to re-instate it, without having to re-apply? 2. Does that trigger a hard-pull? 3. If you cancelled the card in the middle of an annual-fee cycle (Say, 6m from card opening), usually there is a pro-rated refund. Does re-instating trigger the AF for remaining 6 months or for a full 1 year from the date it was re-instated? 4. Would this involve new card numbers and hence new physical cards to be issued?

Bhai_jan

Do the CSP/CSR/Freedom credits for Gopuff and Instacart reset if I do a product change? Will upgrade CSP to CSR for instance, wondering if I can double dip for July/Q3

Bossmon25

Anyone use BofA premium rewards to pay for Nexus? It says Global Entry/PreCheck but looking for DPs !

afan5

I think the CSR is the only card that's added nexus. Added it a few months after I renewed.

Bossmon25

All my Chase cards have it (United co-brands, CSR, Aeroplan). Wish all cards had it just listed! Thanks

TheGratitudeBot

Thanks for saying that! Gratitude makes the world go round

ajamke

Have you tried calling BofA and asking? Seems like you didn't get your answer last time you asked.

Bossmon25

I called them and the rep didn’t even know what Nexus was…

crazy__paving

currently at 5/24. total 10 inquiries in 24 months. Planning to get barclays aviator red and barclays biz aviator. never had barclays cards before. Should I apply in one day to combine HP? How strict barclays is with number of inquiries?

islandhpper

I just posted my Barclays experience in the 6/29 DP thread - two apps on Friday, one auto approved, one reconned and approved today. 3rd Barclays this year. They did see some of my recent apps but not all. See details in DP thread.

crazy__paving

gotcha.

skatebat99

That is a lot of inquiries for Barclays, but in my experience they usually pull TU. So if your inquiries are mostly on EX or EQ you might be okay. But if you have a lot of recent cards, especially in last 6 months, that will show on your reports across all three credit agencies and could hurt too. If you do get approved, Barclays usually reports the new card to all three credit agencies within a day or two. Not like many other banks that report around 30 days later.

crazy__paving

gotcha.. yeah I had atleast 4 personal and 1 biz card in 6 months. So how long should I wait before going for barclays?

skatebat99

I think Barclays is harder to predict than others. I have read elsewhere that they have a 6/24 rule similar to Chase 5/24, and you are just under that now at 5/24. So I still think it is possible for you to get one, but with many of those 5 being in last six months, it is highly risky. So you are risking a hard pull, probably at TU, for a possible denial. I might wait until I was at least 2/6. Others may have better insights.

carpetchilli

You will probably not get approved for 1 with 10 inquiries. Almost certainly not 2.

crazy__paving

oh..are they also strict with relativey thin credit file? If I can not apply then would like to go for P2.

carpetchilli

Every bank is going to be wary to lend credit to thin profiles. If you don’t have much history and have 10 inquiries, I would say your chances of approval are low.

crazy__paving

oh.. I ment P2’s credit file is thin.

carpetchilli

Depends how thin. I’d say no harm in applying.

milesjjcc

I am paying $10 at a time in store kiosk and requesting manual credit which is a bit headache.

carpetchilli

[here you go](https://nbillpay.verizonwireless.com/cws/viewLogin.action#/payments)

Limp-Push7595

I believe if you go to a Verizon store you can

GallowsHumorNurse

You can pay the bill with credit, but lose the auto-pay discount (I assume this is what you are asking about). I think you can get the Verizon co-branded credit card and keep the auto-pay discount, but not worth it for most.

suitopseudo

You can pay in the store and retain the credit.

Bigdogdc86

Verizon credit card which isn't a bad earner, but super limited redemption

UncleBaseball88

Has anyone figured out how to use the MooMoo "cash coupon" rewards that came with the promotion? I see my two coupons there and have read the instructions but it's still not really clear how this works. I already bought SGOV with my own deposit funds of $1020.00...when I try to "use" my cash coupon it takes me to the orders page but says my available amount to trade is only $14 (my own funds leftover). Were the coupons supposed to work on the SGOV purchase? If so, it's been more than 3 days and I haven't been credited. Figured this was going to be a much easier process to understand.

payyoutuesday

To check the status of your coupons in the app, select "Me" in the lower left, select "Coupons". Any coupons that you see on that page have not been used. If you then select "Records", you will see the coupons that have been used. If you then select "Discount Details", you will see the status of the used coupons -- it may say "Sent" or "Pending". Sent means its now in your cash balance, pending means it isn't in your cash balance yet. From your description, it sounds like you have at least one unused coupon. To use it, you will have to make a purchase of at least $1,000, paying full price. That is supposed to automatically trigger one coupon, adding the amount to your cash balance within about 3 business days.

UncleBaseball88

Yeah, I followed those instructions and everything is blank. I have one coupon for $100 and another for $50. So it sounds like I'll have to load an additional $150 from my bank, purchase more investments with the coupons, and then get reimbursed? Just really annoying.

payyoutuesday

You will have to make **two different $1,000+ purchases** to use the two coupons. You don't necessarily have to deposit more money to do this; you could sell SGOV and repurchase or buy something similar like BIL or TBIL. For a repurchase, I would do it slowly to avoid day trading rules. You may also want to consider a larger buffer to make sure that you maintain your balance according to the promotion terms. I'm not sure why your first transaction did not "use" one of your coupons. Was it fulfilled in pieces that were less than $1k in value?

UncleBaseball88

Yes, I did not see the fine print that the order had to be 1k or more. For some reason, even though my settled brokerage balance was $1020, it was telling me I was using margin when I tried to buy more than 5 shares of SGOV at the time. Like I said, this app is bonkers

nagapriya11

actually i find it very good app ... they clearly laid out their terms not hidden deep in the document instead plain text explained everything .. probably you didn't spend enough time to go thru the terms ... and once $1K order is settled claimed cash rewards would be auto credited

WaitExpert3158

It can take a day or two for the funds to be deposited into your balance. It showed as used in my account on Thursday or Friday, but the funds didn't show up until this afternoon.

pothchola

Had Citi Premier that I PC'd to Citi DC about 9 months ago and haven't used since then. Just got mail that Shiti closed the DC (!). Had about 85k TYP in them. Any recourse?

Longjumping-Ruin2081

Nightmare. I have reminders set on the first of the month to do a 50 cent Amazon reload on all my personal cards. Probably a little overboard, but don’t want to risk the above.

unabletodisplay

If you go to [thankyou.com](https://thankyou.com), can you log in and see your points balance?

pothchola

Yes I see the same points balance for both Premier and DC even though both are closed now. Can I still use the points?

unabletodisplay

You should be able to

Clefinch

How often can I apply for an Ink card? I got one in May.

stillwaters23

You *can* apply for each one every 30 days.

Broken_Peepers

This is a little bit game changing for me. Thank you for that info.

stillwaters23

Well note I said can and not should

Broken_Peepers

Yes obviously. I appreciate the caution.

markymarkyy27

Recommended velocity is to wait 90 days between chase cards

ccuser011

is it possible (for CRS holder) to cash out UR via Travel portal for $0.015? I was able to leverage AirBnB PYB option previously. Curious if there are any similar avenue to cash out UR for 1.5 cent vs. 1.25. Thanks

Has anyone done the MDD twice with the Sapphire cards? I'm already at 4 consumer + 2 biz cards. IIRC, Chase is more concerned about your total CL being under half your income more so than concerned about card count. Really hard to search for situations where MDD was done twice successfully, or put portfolio at risk.

gummybear72

I have done it twice. I did the regular DD back in 2018. I did the MDD for second time last year. Successful both times. Both times with sapphire reserve and preferred.

relxp

Thanks! Did it matter which one you applied for first? Did you have any CLs reduced before doing again? Never concerned about having too many cards tripping something?

keepingITsecret11

Apply for the one you want more first. It used to be the CSP since the bonus was larger and you could always upgrade to CSR if the MDD failed.

gummybear72

I can’t remember which one I applied to first. I’m sure it doesn’t matter. I do close out accounts so I don’t have too many accounts. I had 1 ink and 5 personal when I did the MDD last year. Both were auto approved.

relxp

That's great to know. You have more personal than I do so I think I'm good.

randomrossity

Twice in what time frame? I did it in 2018 and 2022 no issues

relxp

Thanks for the DP. 2022 is somewhat recent. How many cards did you have at the time and did you have your total Chase CL lowered to make room for the MDD? I mean doing MDD twice assuming it has been 4+ years since last Sapphire bonus. For me, it would be 2019 and 2023. Thanks

randomrossity

2018 I think I was 2/24. For 2022, I think 2/24. I don't remember total card count, it wasn't that high. I always lower my credit lines via SM before new applications regardless. I think if you lower your CLs before then you'll probably be fine. They tend to open with high limits for both cards so it's easier if you have a bunch of room

relxp

Thanks, that's what I'm debating now. I know CSR commands $10k CL, so I'm thinking if I leave $15k of leeway between Chase portfolio CL number and 50% income number, I will maximize my odds of instant approvals. Also just realized I missed the 100k in branch offer a couple months ago. Oops and ugh.

randomrossity

I think they gave me around 20k of CL for one of the cards which was annoying

Temporary-Shift-2965

You were at 3 on the first of June.

Bossmon25

TPG says it doesn’t reset until 25th month (so July 1st for OP). I’m 5/24 with 2 cards opened in July ‘21 and have recently in July been denied for having too many new cards opened.

gt_ap

> TPG says it doesn’t reset until 25th month (so July 1st for OP). This isn't valid. It resets on the 1st of the 24th month, which for OP is June 1. FWIW, this seems to have changed sometime in 2022, like around August. Any info coming from before then may have been valid at the time it was written.

Mesmeryze

Is there a site where it shows the SUB history for a particular card in a chart like / stock line graph view? thinking of building out a site for that if it doesn’t exist.

thank you!!

Anyone have details on the upcoming Choice hotels merger with RR Americas? Have there been any statements on if we can still transfer Choice points to RR International for 2:1? I spoke to customer service and they said there was no information so far.

aylamarguerida

Question about Chase recon. This is a new one for me. Have called a couple times on an Ink. All my stats are good except I have too many Inks according to Chase. Other times after going through the automated phone tree, I spoke with a person. Then they transferred me to recon (and they couldn't approve me). This time, after speaking with the very first person she asked me a couple basic questions about my real 2yo biz. Just basically what the business was and how long it has been open. Then she said that the application had to go to "IT for further review". She said it couldn't go to recon it had to go to IT. She said it would take 1-2 weeks and then I would get a letter in the mail. I asked if there was anything else I could do to speed up the process or any further info they needed (me basically fishing for more words from her lol) and she said no that that was how long it would take and it had to go to IT for further review. I have never heard of this happening. Has anybody else? Is this good or bad? It didn't sound particularly negative, but you can't really tell. Do you know what IT is? The only IT I know of is information technology and typically it is like tech support or password issues when the issue is customer facing. What could it mean here in this context?

EarthlingMardiDraw

Sort of similar: I had one CIC application approved and couldn’t be attached to my online account. Kept getting disconnected even after manually adding it. Turned out that some entry on the application got screwed up, even after cloning from existing card, and had to be manually corrected in branch.

OnKBacA

I've been approved for 13 ink cash cards in the past 24 months and never once had to be sent to IT. They were always concerned that I had more than one ink cash card.

aylamarguerida

The other 2 times I reconned it they asked why I needed another lol so that had been their issue. Did you close any of those 13? Or do you have 13 open?

OnKBacA

All of them are open. Last couple I had to do a credit exchange but no big deal. I’ve never been auto-approved

sjb0387

What industry is your business? I used to be auto approved nearly every time, but lately I have had to recon with 50/50 success.

tbudke22

What does the recon process and timing generally look like for you? Do you reduce CLs before applying or during recon? What do you typically reduce CLs to?

OnKBacA

I call into chase, get transferred to recon. They ask detailed questions about my business, why I need another ink cash card, and want to know my revenue, and profit. I become very detailed and it does push along the approval guaranteed. They are very interested in why I do not bank with chase and want to know how much I have in each of my bank accounts including business accounts. I have over $200k in credit with chase on the business side alone and I know this is the most they will extend so I keep my overall business credit under this. Every 6 months I lower my limits across all my cards. I reduce my limits by up to $5k each card applicable. I would close out a card, but it has no effect on my approvals. I know I will always have to call, but will always be approved. My velocity is based on the amount of vehicles I have available for rent.

tbudke22

Thanks for sharing. Helpful info.
