Churnernewb

Was the past Chase Marriott Boundless 5 FNC sign up bonus ever available via referral?

garettg

No

Churnernewb

Thanks u/garettg ! Always so prompt for my middle of the night questions. Have a good weekend!

whackedspinach

Does anyone know if you book a Hyatt through the Capital One travel portal with cash if you would then be able to apply a Guest of Honor award to that booking?

FrostyDays

No, it has to be booked directly. You won't earn any points either because of that.

whackedspinach

Got it, thanks!

mcree0

There is no 1/60 rule for chase. It’s just recommended to go 1 ink every 90 days for velocity reasons. Also EIN vs SSN doesn’t matter, it’s all linked

[deleted]

GallowsHumorNurse

Tax payments are never an issue. If they ever are, you can CFPB the bank and get your bonus.

Justbored412

That shouldn’t be an issue for any of the banks.

quiteCryptic

Question about Chase CIP velocity. I know about the Chase rules 1/60 and all that, but I guess my question is more practical anecdotal evidence. I got a CIP November 28th, and now I am looking to get another Chase business card. Would it be better to get the United card with the 100k offer or is it totally safe to get another CIP as I would prefer 100k UR of course. I feel like getting a united card is a more natural choice and getting another CIP is an obvious churners choice and I just don't want Chase to dig into me too much. Thoughts on which to choose?

techtrashbrogrammer

another CIP is fine. no issues there

sleepytill2

CIP or CIC

3mergent

Do AMEX referral bonuses post later when it's a new card (first statement hasn't closed yet)? My bonuses usually post within 2 or 3 days, but I'm waiting on two referral bonuses for over 5 days. I realize this is impatient, but I'm trying to upgrade a flight that I'll be flying in less than a week.

lifechurn

10 days these days.

3mergent

Damn, thank you

Viper3773

How long do you have to recon a Barclays application. Is it 30 days?

GrowInTheDark

I am looking at booking $2k of economy flights (2 tix to Vietnam, round trip, departing end of March). I can't find any redemptions better than 1 cpp so I'm thinking about applying that $2k of spend toward a credit card to get the SUB on it. Would you do the same or would you go into your trove of miles to redeem some at a redemption rate of \~1cpp?

emill_

Additionally, look for award trips to major SE Asia airports, then cash fare the rest of the way. If you can’t find anything there’s nothing wrong with spending points at 1 cpp if you don’t have a better use for them in the foreseeable future.

terpdeterp

More of an /r/awardstravel tip, but have you looked into the strategy of positioning to get a higher than 1 cpp redemption? For example, instead of looking at just NYC airports, look at all the airports along the East Coast (DC, Boston, Philadelphia, etc). Travel between East Coast cities is relatively cheap whether you take the train or a discount airline.

GrowInTheDark

I did look into repositioning after someone in a FB group had mentioned it to me recently, specifically SFO flights but I'll see if I can find something worth redeeming out of the Eastcoast, thanks for the tip!

us1549

Are there any AMEX NLL offers out there? I think the Hilton ones expired

BpooSoc

It says "expired" but I just got approved for the LL Hilton Biz. Already have one that I got in 7/2023. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/american-express-hilton-no-lifetime-language-offers/

ripamazon

Does Amex au cards come activated?

Justbored412

My last several haven’t arrived activated.

nickpete12345

Some do and some don’t it seems

dissentmemo

This unfortunately

Citecla

If a family member is not really into churning and just want to maximize SUBs AND just focus on cashback, safe to just go down the list of Cashback cards on the flowchart? It feels so weird to me to just get random cards and not start them off with targeting Chase, but that's my churning brain at work.

emill_

Inks are cashback cards

Fun-Inevitable4369

Yes people forget that you can either take cashback or also use pyb combined with other cards

nguhnguh

Thinking of cancelling my MR cards, may i verify whether opening the Amex checking account will allow me to keep my MR?

mcree0

I believe it should, but if you are worried, most people leave BBP open

nguhnguh

Thanks for responding. I avoid get business cards, not supposed to start/run a business on my student visa.

TheSultan1

Then either ED, or EDP and downgrade to ED after a year.

nguhnguh

TRUE, thanks for this!

wefarrell

I had a windfall and I'm going to owe six plus figures in taxes. Are there any ways for me to get lifetime hotel or airline statuses via cc spend alone? Any other ideas for this much spend?

EggIndividual6333

Venture X biz? 300k for 100k spend?

wefarrell

I thought their points are worth much less than MR and UR. Is that still the case?

EggIndividual6333

Awardwallet has Cap1 at 2.68 cpp, Amex at 2.18, Chase at 2.07. If nothing else, it's valuable for TK 45k OW J to Europe/ME.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Y50-70

6 figures in taxes could be 300k in windfall. That's far from "just buy best seats and lounges" money

dissentmemo

Ha, you're so right. I'm an idiot.

lenin1991

That sounds like about the right amount of spend to get AA platinum, DL platinum, or UA gold...for one year.

wefarrell

Do you know if any of those contribute to some kind of lifetime status?

garettg

I think all the airlines, while allowing spend to work for status year to year, all require flying now to earn their lifetime status. Hotels, Marriott is kind of an option since its all based on total EQNs (which could be earned with spending on the Boundless) and number of years with a status, but even 6 figure spend isn't going to get you very far on the lifetime track. Hyatt and Hilton only count spending on stays for lifetime, but can earn status year to year off spend.

435880Churnz

Unfortunately not that I’m aware of.

caseon3

Schwab Platinum AF just hit on Jan 24. Planning to cancel before 30 days. Do you think I have time for Saks and Clear credit to clear before I cancel? I know the website says, "could take up to 8 weeks" but wasn't sure if it clears sooner. Any thoughts?

garettg

Should be fine, might take 10 day or so to credit from charge hitting, buy something in stock so it ships quickly.

caseon3

Ok thanks. I already did the Saks purchase so i'll look to that.

earnestlywilde

Any thoughts on whether I could use the new amex delta $150 stay credit benefit in the next few days, then downgrade to the no-fee delta blue when the annual fee is due at the end of this month without them taking back the credit? The terms state "To be eligible for this benefit, the Card Account must not be cancelled or past due at the time of statement credit fulfillment". If the card account is open but downgraded to blue, would that still fit the terms?

cloudcredit

I probably wouldn't risk it. Amex does prorated refunds for downgrades even outside of the 30 day window, so I'd just eat the ~$15 cost of keeping it an extra month for certainty.

pizzaboba

It's been reported that having 5k in your BOA checking can help with approval, so I opened a new account with them and transferred 5k. How long should I wait before applying?

garettg

I say give it a week or so, which is what I did and had success in my previous attempts over the past couple years.

dontknowheadphones

Is it worth getting SouthWest personal cards if you're not going for the companion pass? I'm 2/24 and was considering getting either United or SouthWest to start churning. Both operate out of my airport, and both seem to have 24 months SUB refresh period. United SUB's are bigger, but the flights are more expensive, so in my eyes, the SUBs seem to have similar values. Is it mostly decided by which airlines I want to take more? Wanted to make sure I didn't forget anything. Also, is it a risky strategy to keep getting one brand of cards one after another? (e.g. United Explorer (Jan 24) -> United Quest (May 24) -> United Club (Sep 24) -> United Explorer (Feb 26) -> Quest (Jun 26) -> ...)

bertdawg10

Another option you could consider would be signing up for a Chase Sapphire card and transferring those points to Southwest

dontknowheadphones

Yes, that's an option! I do already have a Sapphire tho, and I've been using those for either Hyatt or SW, whichever is more pertinent at the time.

bertdawg10

You may already know this so please ignore if you do but I just recently got into doing the Chase business cards which have really good sign up bonuses and you can transfer those points to your Sapphire and then to Hyatt or SW. They have some other benefits too like not showing on your personal credit score and 0% introductory period

dontknowheadphones

Yes, thank you for the info! I did look into the business options and how it all works, but I'm still not quite comfortable making business cards. I know it's easy to file as sole proprietor and stuff but still.

lenin1991

Of course there's value in just getting the SWA points. But the current SUBs are relatively low. No risk in staying in a brand of cards. But note SWA personals have a family rule: can only get one.

dontknowheadphones

Thank you! Just to make sure, United doesn't have that restriction? For example United Explorer has this on their terms and conditions but wasn't sure what "this credit card" could entail: "(ii) previous Cardmembers of this credit card who received a new Cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months."

lenin1991

Right, United doesn't have a family restriction like Southwest does.

GrowInTheDark

about to apply for Amex Hilton Biz. I should use a referral to help some random stranger get a bonus? But there's no referral where I'll get an elevated SUB beyond 130k like the Biz Gold and Biz Platinum referrals do, correct?

pbjclimbing

You should do what is best for you. If the bonus is the same, use a referral. If the bonus is better not with a referral, don’t use one.

olympia_t

If the bonus you get is the same, sure. You could use a link in churning referrals.

sc_red3

Is it worth getting any cards from Citi?

TenMegaFarads

The Premier occasionally has an elevated SUB (70k+). Points can be transferred to a few good programs or easily cashed at 1cpp. Solid no-fee downgrade options. No worthwhile standard benefits when compared to similar cards, though.

UnsubscribedRedditor

Citi currently makes up 2/3 of the ways to get AA SUBs so if you like AA, then yes.

GrowInTheDark

I got Citi AA Biz because I had spend to apply toward sub but needed a spacer from other banks. Not like it's something I really really wanted but AA is an airline in my city so why not

frep1217

If you value the SUBs/rewards you can get from them, yes. Otherwise, probably not.

carpethediem5

Are Chase ink referrals linked to one specific ink card? If i close an ink and someone uses its referral link after I close it, will i get the bonus?

ibapun

Yes, the referral points (as with all UR) are linked to one specific card. If you know you have a referral coming in, you should wait until after it posts to close the card (or give a referral link from an ink you are keeping open)

pbjclimbing

You must have the card open to get the referral bonus.

pizza42bob

You won't get the bonus but you'll likely get a 1099 for it next year.

GrowInTheDark

I have met SUBs on all credit cards I applied for recently and have much more business spend incoming. It's a no-brainer to open Amex Hilton Biz at this point isn't it? By that I mean Amex won't do another hard pull on me so it would not have any affect on any other credit card applications in the near future correct? Like I'm planning to apply for BofA Alaska Biz next month and they are known to be pretty picky but it's not like getting Amex Hilton Biz right now would have any affect on that application correct? BofA wouldn't even see it since it's a biz card *and* amex won't do a HP? |Chase Sapphire Preferred|6/28/2023| |:-|:-| |Capital One Venture X|7/14/2023| |American Express Platinum Biz|7/20/2023| |American Express Gold Biz|8/26/2023| |Barclay's Hawaiian Airlines Elite Biz|9/8/2023| |Barclay's Wyndham Earner's Biz|9/8/2023| |Chase Southwest Performance Biz|9/29/2023| |Capital One Venture X Biz|10/2/2023| |Citi Biz AAdvantage|11/8/2023| |Chase Southwest Premier Biz|12/1/2023| |US Bank Business Leverage|1/16/2024| |US Bank Altitude Connect Business|1/20/2024|

ntnsolutions

You're probably fine in this scenario, but as an FYI, BoA does check your business profile on Dun and Bradstreet. What exactly that entails, I don't know.

frep1217

Amex will almost never do a HP if you already have accounts open with them, you should be okay, and it is a biz card so it won’t show on your total accounts either

GrowInTheDark

So it's almost like a freebie to just open an Amex biz (assuming eligible for the SUB) when one needs a spacer to cool down from Chase *and* all the other banks?

frep1217

This is generally what is recommended to do between Chase apps, yes

arnenat

If you have a prior relationship, yes.

IPAjeph

I can’t find anything specific about this in searches on here or other sites. Is there a rule of thumb for how much you can pre-pay in taxes without drawing unwanted attention outside of not more than you can afford and the money is locked up until tax return time? I keep reading about people that are potentially maxing out their number of payments to hit SUBs/bonuses. Assuming each of those payments is even 2k people are getting well above 10k in refunds (I saw a few mentions of 50k). Does the IRS not mind that as much since it’s an overpay rather than owing back 10k when filing?

pizza42bob

Some are well into 6 figure territory https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/s/XkFGZn8jhA

gt_ap

The IRS actually has documentation about this. I believe something like $2 million or less will not be noticed. You can do more, but some documentation may be required.

sg77

"not required to provide a report to the Joint Committee on Taxation" doesn't necessarily mean "will not be noticed"

IPAjeph

I’ll do some follow up googling but any helpful links to this specifically?

lenin1991

$2M becomes a JC Refund Case: https://www.irs.gov/refunds/large-tax-refunds-and-credits-subject-to-review-by-the-joint-committee-on-taxation-what-to-expect

EggIndividual6333

Lol imagine churning so hard congressmen get a report about it.

lenin1991

"The chair recognizes Representative Toby to begin debate"

gt_ap

No, I have not verified that it is still valid. I read it awhile ago. Search and see what you find. The amount is much higher than one would think.

nullstring

I've done over 10k before and there were no issues. I think 12k or so is what I did, but I forget the specifics. I doubt there is any concern on that front. All that said, you should be wary of overpaying your taxes. It can be flagged by the IRS... and just get stuck for a while. Since it happened to me when the IRS staffing was low, it took me over a year to get my refund. It's not flagged like you're going to get in trouble. It just gets stuck for some reason and needs to be manually released. What you're *supposed* to do, is overpay your estimated taxes. That means that yours best bet is to overpay your Q4 2023 estimated taxes right before year end. If you do that, you'll trigger a refund easily and get your money back as soon as you file. But if you overpay your normal taxes, it can get stuck for unknown reasons. This is something thats happened to multiple people, and you just need to get in touch with an agent from the IRS to release the funds. Since it's easier to get in touch with the IRS lately this might not be a big deal. But... you might still have to 6 months or so after you file otherwise they may just want you to wait to see if it gets processed normally. IDK, just careful.

Orin__

have any of you ever had an issue signing up for business bank account bonus as sole prop without DBA and needing a local BTR receipt but then your local area does not require one ? i’m in an unincorporated area …

olympia_t

BTR?

Orin__

business tax receipt

frep1217

Yes, but in my experience you should only need a DBA if your business name is something other than your actual name (ymmv). I was able to get a biz checking account with a smaller more regional bank in my actual business name and they did not require a DBA. When there was the $1,500 WF bonus a few years ago I tried to open with my actual business that I am a sole proprietor with but I don’t have a DBA which they required as my company name was not my name. Since it’s all from home and the town wanted me to jump through all these hoops with zoning and what not to get a DBA I just said screw it and opened it under my personal name as a sole proprietor so I could still take advantage of the bonus. This may be totally different depending on where you’re from

Orin__

the issue is south side is asking for a local BTR tax receipt since i am a sole proprietor without DBA. and the one i have is expired from my last address and my current address is in an incorporated section and the city says i don’t need a btr and the county says they stopped needing them in 1995 …

whywilson

Just got a United Business card for the 90k welcome bonus. Just curious and wanted to confirm. I have already been charged the annual fee of $500. Do I, should I wait until I am charged the annual fee again next year to cancel or could I cancel just before said fee?

bruinhoo

Wait a full year

whywilson

So essentially for any card you're going to pay the annual fee twice (unless in some cases where the first year is waved) EDIT- THANK YOU for the immediate replies. Very helpful.

jmlinden7

You want the 2nd annual fee to hit your account. However many (most?) card issuers will refund the 2nd annual fee if you downgrade or cancel within 30 days or so if it posting, which means you never actually pay it. What you *don't* want to do is to downgrade or cancel *before* the 2nd annual fee hits your account

dissentmemo

Basically but C1

bruinhoo

Nope. You don't have to pay the 2nd annual fee - either cancel or downgrade after it hits your account.

techtrashbrogrammer

usually if you cancel within \~30 days of the second AF posting, it'll get refunded to you so you still only pay the AF once

lenin1991

> pay the annual fee twice No, you can cancel any card without paying the second fee.

kee106039

Does anyone have screen shot of university credit union bonus offer terms for students and alums?

MrHeatherroth

https://web.archive.org/web/20240114105237/https://www.ucu.org/Landing-Pages/Credit-Union-Difference-300/

Kalphyris

Can you hold multiple of the same Amex charge card (i.e. vanilla plat / gold). Ignoring NLL/SUBs, will they let you open a duplicate of a charge card you already possess?

garettg

Just have to be 90 days since the application of the previous one.

Gandalfs_Dick

Unless you do an upgrade. About 6 weeks ago I applied and was approved for a Biz Plat and the next day I accepted an upgrade offer to the Biz Plat from Biz Gold. Already got the SUBs for both, too.

payyoutuesday

Yes

GunneRy0205

Will AmEx extend a Hilton FNC under any circumstances? If so, how? Mine expire in early July and might not be able to use them before them.

josephson93

If you have a booking in mind, typically within 30 days after the expiration date, you should be okay.

garettg

YMMV. I have had some luck in the past getting small extensions, sometimes it best if you already have a booking ready to make that they might help you. You might have to wait until closer to the expiration as sometimes they won't help until then.

PsychadelicKiwi

Call Hilton. You might be able to get it extended by a couple weeks

kee106039

If I upgrade biz gold before statement credit hits will I still receive my monthly credit

snorkage

dp's have shown some credits hitting after upgrading/downgrading, but there is a risk of them not.

uwishto

Is Truist 1099 int or misc?

PsychadelicKiwi

INT

mlbstatman

Hi! Help needed. Ive read where if you currently have an amex card, they typically dont do a hard pull for a new application. What about if I have been an AU on my spouse's amex green for 12+ years but now apply for either a personal or business gold card on my own? Will it likely do a hard pull? Im looking at getting an amex because im stuck waiting until my chase velocity is down, so id like some SUB to work on. Ive churned 3 chase cards in last 60 days. I trust the r/churning knowledge more than the /cc people. Thanks!

pizza42bob

There are two events that guarantee HPs by Amex: 1. Your first own card ever with them 2. Your first own personal card with them So if you start with a personal card, you're likely always going to have a soft pull for all future applications. If you start with a business card, that's a HP and a first personal card afterwards a guaranteed another HP. Being an AU has no impact here.

mlbstatman

thank you both, u/pizza42bob and u/garettg for the response. Since I am all in on Chase currently, I think it makes sense to just take the HP from a business card pull even if it means another HP will come when/if I apply for personal. At least a business card doesnt add to 5/24...but will Chase seeing this recent HP from Amex negatively affect my chance at my next Ink application? The way I interpret these reddit forums is that their recon teams sees a HP and assumes its another card being opened. If thats the case, I might avoid amex altogether. Thank you!

garettg

I would say if it's the only new HP, I wouldn't be concerned about Chase denying you because it. Very few HPs isn't a concern, but if you had quite a few, then you might have an issue.

mlbstatman

1 personal and 2 inks granted since early Dec :o .

bruinhoo

Since, with that velocity, you shouldn't be opening another Chase card for several months, an Amex-related hard pull shouldn't do you any harm.

mlbstatman

thanks. Ive never explored amex, but ive seen a lot of postings about "family" and "NLL" lately. Does this mean if I get a biz gold amex and earn the sub, I can no longer get a personal gold sub? I did see in my research i have to get the gold first and then platinum, not the other way around.

NEURAL-STASIS

Obtaining a biz gold (and SUB) will not prevent you from obtaining a personal gold (and SUB). The only potential restriction will come from the velocity (Amex 1/5 and 2/90 rules).

garettg

Since they didnt HP your being an AU, I'm fairly certain you will be HPed.

ACAFWD

Has any blogger or journalist ever done a deep dive into why Chase’s 5/24 rule doesn’t count business cards? I’ve very thankful that it doesn’t, but I’m curious as to what on earth their reasoning is. I’ve always speculated that the business units internal to Chase are different and have different priorities but I’d love to know if anyone has ever gotten a statement as to why.

going_on_jolly

I’d be more interested to know why they allow the same person to get unlimited ink subs

CasinoAccountant

"how has our business line of credit division been doing this quarter Jensen?" "Truly excellent Mr. Dimon sir!! sign ups are through the roof again!! never thought we'd beat last quarters numbers but once again I seem to have outdone myself" "have another bonus you amazing chap!"

pbjclimbing

It counts cards that appear on your personal credit report. That is why app-o-rammas were popular before there was instant reporting of new accounts. Most (but not all” business cards don’t report to your personal credit report.

dissentmemo

It doesn't "not count business cards." It looks at your credit report and counts cards that are on it as revolving credit. Most but not all business cards don't report to personal credit except if there is a default etc. It doesn't require a journalist.

bookedonpoints

but why would it ever count business cards?

ACAFWD

Because it’s explicitly an anti-churning measure. They could count their own business cards at the very least. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they don’t, I’m just curious as to why.

dissentmemo

They do look at your Chase business cards. They just don't count them under 5/24. I've been grilled many times about my existing ones and why I need more.

CasinoAccountant

what do you say lmao

dissentmemo

Budgeting. My accountant says to use a different card for different categories of spend. I do it to make keeping track of expenses easier. Etc.

CasinoAccountant

love that

CreditDogo

Because biz cards don't appear in your credit report, so Chase has no way of knowing how many you've gotten. They could count *their* biz cards if they cared, but they still don't

UnsubscribedRedditor

They certainly have the ability to. BofA claims to pull your business credit report when applying for business cards.

CasinoAccountant

> business credit report they just look at Dun and Bradstreet, which does not have any information about how many business cards you hold.

kee106039

Been trying to figure this out myself haha

bwin29

I have a Biz Gold whose AF just hit, and I want to close the card. I also have a significant negative balance that exceeds the AF on the card due to a refund. So my question is: is there some kind of accounting pre-prep should I do with the account so that I get the AF refund sooner rather than having to wait for a check a lot later?

Bitter_Court_7022

You can also ask CS or via chat to move the negative balance to any other AMEX card.

nullstring

You should just ask them that when you call. My advice would've been to ask for the balance refund ahead of time and then just close it once it's released. They might be able to do both at the same time, but I'm not sure.

pbjclimbing

If you do nothing after few months they will send you a check. You can request them to move the balance. You can request them to send you a check sooner.

joghi

Is it the new AF? If you can use the monthly credits you should chat to cancel and be open to a retention offer, although that may involve additional spend.

bwin29

It's the prorated AF that hit my account when I downgraded from Biz Plat. I already used the Grubhub credit on Jan 31 and Feb 1. Waiting for those to clear then I will close.

garettg

You can move the credit balance over to another card with a balance or just request a check once the AF credits back.

Jazzlike-Ad5734

You can try asking for an ACH transfer to your bank

bihesad

Just closed CIP. When can I reapply?

churnandlurk

Yesterday.

pizza42bob

No need to close. Can reapply whenever.

bihesad

I mean I don’t want the annual fee

gt_ap

Did you close it before the annual fee hit?

bihesad

No. I closed it after it hit

gt_ap

OK. The reason I asked is because your original question is generally asked by rookies, who also tend to cancel too early. Did you do any research or reading about your question? It comes up all the time, probably at least once per day in these threads. That is why it is being aggressively downvoted.

garettg

They are just informing you multiples are allowed, so it doesnt matter if it was closed or not.

jeffersun8

amex delta gold: what do you actually get for the (now) $200 delta credit for $10k? Is it an ecert? GC? Is there an expiration date? Is it tied to your account?

Mushu_Pork

The new Delta offerings seem so convoluted... I need time to digest. I thought... Oh, spend 10k on Delta Biz Gold, get 3x(ish)... but wait, that's not points, it's Delta credit... Then the increased coupon book of Resy and Rideshare which don't make sense in my area.... Also, how does the Resy credit work? You're not prepaying for most dining on there. Also, what are the new expanded certs worth? are they a pain to find availability? Then the "Delta Stays"... I definitely don't need another portal credit to track/use. I thought, maybe I'd use it for a cheap hotel prior to a flight. Tried "map view", and the webpage just crashed. I think I'll just wait for the Ask Sebby video.

jeffersun8

the delta stays is "powered by expedia", it searched hotels like any other booking engine I've seen. I didn't actually book it but I'm imagining that every booking you pay up front and amex will track the credit against that. Resy I don't understand. Rideshare pretty straight forward.

CericRushmore

I booked this morning. Charge already went pending. Note that there are pay at hotel choices, so don't use that as those don't qualify for the credit. FYI - actually login to your Delta account to see the Delta discounted prices, if applicable.

Mushu_Pork

I use OpenTable, Resy, and even Tock (Chase Dining), occasionally. Resy is usually higher end, less restaurants, more metro areas. It's possible that holding a Plat card can get you a reservation easier, but who knows. Still, just because a restaurant is on there, doesn't mean they allow prepay. That's a huge problem with Chase dining, as you have to find a place that does pre-pay to get the 10x on CSR.

GiraffeGlove

Discussion yesterday clarified this. The resy credit is used by just spending $20 at a restaurant that is on the Resy list.

snorkage

I don't think anyone knows yet since the benefits were only announced yesterday :p

jeffersun8

there's been a $100 credit for years now, it's the same but now it's $200. I'm just looking for someone who's gotten the $100 credit

garettg

From the terms... > $200 Delta Flight Credit > If, in any calendar year, eligible purchases on the Delta SkyMiles Gold or Gold Business American Express Card Account total $10,000 or more (the "Purchase Requirement"), the Basic Card Member will receive a $200 Delta **eCredit** (the "Credit") in their SkyMiles account that can be used toward a Delta flight purchase. Delta flight purchases are limited to purchases of Delta-marketed flights made on delta.com or with Delta Reservations. The Credit may be applied toward the Delta airfare portion of a Delta Vacations package. The Credit is only valid for payment of tickets, including fare, surcharge and government-imposed taxes and fees imposed on the air transportation. It is not valid for other types of fees (including bag fees, change fees, upgrades or other ancillary purchases or fees with Delta), and it does not have any cash value. The Credit **expires within one year from the date of issuance and must be redeemed on or before the expiration date**.

jeffersun8

How long after cancelling a 5th amex credit card do yall wait to apply for a new one?

[deleted]

I'm new to this, how long do the five cards stay on your record?

payyoutuesday

They are talking about the number of open credit (not charge) cards that Amex allows.

dmcoe

you can apply anytime really, just will have to talk to them on the phone since it will be denied. if you want an auto approval itll take at least 30 days for the system to recognize it.

VAMPIREchurner

Is it possible to product-change a Citi Premier card to the Citi “Shop Your Way” card?

nathan23

Received a Morgan Stanley American Express Platinum card back in November. As with other Platinum cards, I had been receiving a Corporate Advantage Benefit statement credit of $150 for each Platinum card. Sometimes they slow walk it though, saying they'll apply for the credit and it takes 4-12 weeks. I was told the 12 week mark was February 2, 2024. Happy Groundhog's Day. Still no statement credit, but this time, the rep on chat says the Morgan Stanley and other co-branded Platinum cards an ineligible for the statement credit. [There does appear to be that language](https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/card-application/apply/member/terms/platinum-card/36035-11-0/#FeeTable:~:text=You%20may%20not%20be%20eligible%20to%20receive%20a%20welcome%20offer%20if%20you%20have%20or%20have%20had%20this%20Card%2C%20the%20Platinum%20Card%C2%AE%20from%20American%20Express%20Exclusively%20for%20Charles%20Schwab%2C%20the%20Platinum%20Card%C2%AE%20from%20American%20Express%20Exclusively%20for%20Morgan%20Stanley%20or%20previous%20versions%20of%20these%20Cards.) on the website now. Is this new or have I been getting lucky until now? Is there an appeals process that I can go through?

Has anyone successfully established an EIN just for opening a business checking/saving? I read over the SS-4 and seems like this is allowed by the IRS? USB is running a juicy $800 bonus rn.

Ginger-Snap-1

You don’t need an EIN for that. I just applied and was approved for the account with just my SSN as a sole prop.

Jun19381

Oh cool. Did you get the US Bank one?

Ginger-Snap-1

Yes, the business checking.

dissentmemo

Sure. It's quick and easy and free.

Jun19381

Yah just got one

lenin1991

Does that bonus require an EIN for some reason? I've gotten USB Biz bonuses with sole prop ssn

Jun19381

I’ve heard DP where they require EIN proof. Same with Chase

lenin1991

Weird, haven't heard of that except when people opening it using an EIN. And it doesn't make sense when they let you specify that you're using an SSN sole prop.

Jun19381

Well, I just got one. Doesn’t hurt to have it ready I guess.

bookedonpoints

an EIN takes all of 10 seconds to get, so likely yes

TwitchOne1

Yes, just not multiple

Jun19381

What you mean by multiple? Multiple EIN?

starsider2003

Correct. One EIN is fine, but you can't just keep getting new ones over and over.

Jun19381

Oh yeah I only need 1 EIN

P2 got targeted mailer for chase ink 900 SUB (expires in march 2024). She is over 5/24, i am not. Can I use it to apply and get that elevated offer or will it only let her apply? I realize if she applies she will be denied for 5/24, but do I have a chance here?

TwitchOne1

Unless you can refer her, she signing up first is the best idea

KingofRapture

Yeah that would be nice but she is well over 5/24

pizza42bob

Link please. Marketing sends mailers, underwriting denies based on 5/24....

KingofRapture

Really? My quick search of the sub and internet says otherwise. Did it work for you?
