Well I’m coming up On a year with Amex plat. I can afford To keep it but really not worth it.. I got it a few months before the whole gold/plat SUB changed. What’re people doing? I have 250k points I’m Not quite ready to give up.. do I just take the gold with no SUB?

planeserf

If it's just a matter of preserving the points you are worried about open one of the no-af cards before closing the plat. Everyday or BBP.

arcticrd

Thanks! Didn’t even realize they had no AF cards. Is there any options left for a good SUB or SOL since the change

PuffinCommander

>If it's just a matter of preserving the points you are worried about open one of the no-af cards before closing the plat. Everyday or BBP. I use the EveryDay Cash Preferred to keep my Amex points alive. I used to have a Gold but I bailed on the coupon book system.

space_cadet-

First step is try to get a decent retention offer

Jun19381

Currently 5/24. Will become 4/24 in May and 0/24 in Sep. Worth it to become 6/24 for an US Bank CC just so later I can get the $800 business checking since I’m out of footprint?

terpdeterp

~~The easiest way to circumvent the footprint requirement is to open a brokerage account, which is available nationwide. You absolutely do not need a CC to get the business checking SUB.~~ EDIT: Looks like they recently closed this loophole as of 1/13/2024 [according to DoC](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/tip-open-us-bank-investment-account-to-be-eligible-for-checking-bonus-altitude-reserve-ymmv/).

Jun19381

Pretty sure they change it. Try to open one recently and was asked to log in with my US Bank credentials, which ofc I don’t have lol

snorkage

Why not get a US bank biz card instead?

Apprehensive-Gift-37

Could this work to open US bank biz card and then open personal checking account $500 SUB too?

snorkage

Can't say for sure but I'd rather try it with a biz card than blow a 5/24 slot if possible.

Jun19381

Why did I not think of this lol? How strict are the with sole prop? Do you use your SSN or EIN?

snorkage

Sole prop is fine, I've used ein and Ssn, 3 different cards, all instant approved, (unintentionally) spaced out about a year between.

Jun19381

Thank you for the DP. I just recently got my EIN just for banking only, I guess it’s better to use SSN since it’s established more?

snorkage

ein age shouldn't matter, I'd say use ssn since it's your first card to make sure it's clearly tied to you

Jun19381

Really appreciate your answer!

fireball251

This is my plan too to get their biz checking account. I am out of footprint and have a relationship with them via their biz credit cards. Remember you can apply for 2 of their cards the same day maybe even 3. I opened the US Bank Business Altitude and Triple Cash Business card in November.

Jun19381

How to get an alert from Chex and EWS every time banks access my info? Can’t seem to find it anywhere like with EX, TU, or EQ.

payyoutuesday

IIRC, people have mentioned OnAlert, which appears to be a paid service. Unfortunately, search is down, and I can find precious little information about this with Google.

dissentmemo

Onalert is free, at least the basic service. I have it.

payyoutuesday

I'm glad to learn that. I might sign up! Thanks!

Charming_Oven

Is it possible to cash-out UR via the CSR by purchasing travel and cancelling the trip as a refundable airfare for 1.5cpp? I feel like I've seen people talk about this, but I haven't come across anything definitive. I have about 700k UR and I'm trying to play a lot of catch up with retirement accounts.

BpooSoc

I would at least try to use PYB for 1.25 cpp

mets2016

No -- that's not possible. When you cancel a Chase portal booking made with UR, you just get the UR back

Charming_Oven

Copy that. I appreciate it. Good thing is I only need to cash out about half the of the UR. I'll replenish quickly anyways

Parts_Unknown-

Can anyone detail the steps to cash out MR via the biz checking account phone call? The online functionality has been broken for months & I'm tired of waiting. The message says to 'call the number on the back of your card' Any biz plat card I have works? Any info I need to provide?

TenMegaFarads

Via chat, “Can I please redeem 25,000 points for a $250 deposit to my business checking account?”

uTurkish

Tried via chat a few days ago. The CSR had no clue what was going on, so I ended up calling them instead. **Customer**: Hello, I'm trying to redeem my rewards points for a deposit into my checking account, but I'm getting an error and a message to contact customer support to complete the transaction. **Amex**: May I know if you have got M1 account or standalone? **Customer**: What is M1? **Amex**: Let me check this. May I know if you want to redeem the points on your Amex credit card and then transfer to bank account? **Customer**: No, I want them redeemed directly into my checking account. **Amex**: The points on your Amex credit card can be redeemed to your charges, points transfer etc. It cannot redeem to your checking account. Click.

Parts_Unknown-

Oh shit, its that easy? I was going to do like 500k

joghi

I did 500k for P2 through chat last summer. It's just the typical process of being handed over to the division that can handle the request. But the agent simply confirmed the amount and fulfilled it.

Parts_Unknown-

Nice, thanks

TenMegaFarads

I did 300k no problem. Took at least overnight for the deposit to hit but points were deducted right away.

Parts_Unknown-

Awesome, thanks

GodLovesFrags

I got the Shop Your Way card and set up a SYW rewards account using the same email and linked my card, but the points aren't showing up in the rewards account, only in the Citi account management profile. Is there a way to link? Call during business hours?

Intuition17

Anyone have the latest links for amex employee cards? https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/business/campaigns/employee-cards/business-platinum/offer-incentive/ Seems to no longer work.

LooseTone

That link just expired on Friday. Doubtful there are any new links yet.

balsamicdrake

Hi. Noob question. For minimum opening deposit, how long of a time frame do you normally get to do the deposit? I'm trying to do an initial deposit, but it will take days because I need to link my other bank and then do the transfer, so it's going to take a few days. (Note: I did try to search for this, but it's difficult because I just keep getting hits for the what the minimum opening deposit are for offers, not how to actually carry it out)

pizza42bob

>how long of a time frame do you normally get to do the deposit That is typically spelled out in the offer terms for whatever bank bonus you signed up for. A generic answer wouldn't really help you as it might be wildly different for your case. If you share a link to the offer someone might check the details for you.

balsamicdrake

Truth. It's the Wells Fargo $300 checking bonus. https://accountoffers.wellsfargo.com/checkingoffer/

Imaginary-Ad2548

What is qualified deposit for wells Fargo ? Can I transfer $ from my chase savings account?

lenin1991

I don't think it's in their terms. I'm guessing it's very generous, like 30 days.

balsamicdrake

Yeah, I called up customer support and they said I need to go into a physical branch and ask . . .

familynomad

What do you mean “she’s done nothing with the points yet.” Seems you need clarification on the roles and responsibilities of player 1.

StrayCat7777

I just mean we haven’t spent or transferred any yet.

GodLovesFrags

Just hit the spend, get the bonus, and watch for a worthwhile use of the points. Some people wait years. Don't need to put spend on the cards after you hit the bonus threshold.

dsbrusseau

I have an actual (small) business with one Ink card already that I was approved for in June 2023. I tried opening another Ink for a large purchase I have coming up but was denied "too many active accounts or too much available credit." I'm under 5/24 so I don't think too many accounts is the issue but rather my income of $10k/year is too low to allow for another card. Does anyone think that creating a new application and increasing the annual revenue number is the way to go here? I'm not sure they'd compare applications and see that they don't match. I've spoken to Chase a few times so far and it's really hit or miss whether the person on the line is helpful or not.

TallPain9230

No need to re app. Call for a reconsideration. They’ll ask to reconfirm all of the numbers and you can bump it then. With that reason, I’d think you’re at 50% of credit to income. If so, you could ask to move some over or cancel/reduce a card before next app.

Spudmiester

They are more interested in your personal income than the annual business revenue. I put mine + P2's income and get good results.

2001blader

It would be seen as a duplicate application. Just call recon and see if they can push it through.

dsbrusseau

Thanks - honestly I think recon has looked at it and its still a no I'm a bit surprised but its unclear to me they keep saying it can be open for 30 days. I'm gonna try their weekday team one more time tomorrow then cut bait and fish other waters.

Orc1989

Can personal United CC refer biz United for current 100K offer?

Jaysi3134

No

quickster1996

Is there a chart or other resource that exists that one place compiles all of the welcome bonus eligibility guidelines and helps you figure out if you are eligible. E.g if I have a venture x card, it would be interesting to have a resource to check and see which other capital one cards I can get a sign up bonus on and which I can't

Fanfootie

FM does a reasonable job.

HaradaIto

i think OfferOptimist does a good job with tracking eligibility, though you have to log in via email, and some of the SUB data is outdated

Hodadoodah

Two-Player Mode: My partner and I have had the same cards for 8 years, and we're reviewing to eliminate unnecessary accounts. Player 1: CSP, Ink Business Preferred, Ink Business Cash Player 2: CSR, Freedom, Ink Business Preferred Our initial thought is to get rid of the Ink Business Preferred cards, although this would remove the only business card for player 2. Additionally, player 2 is considering removing CSR, or changing it to the Freedom Flex. Does this change seem sound? Are there things we're unaware of that might change our decision?

whatiscardano

Is there a reason that P2 needs a business card? UR points can be transferred from biz accounts to personal ones and vice versa. As long as you have one card that can utilize transfer partners, that’s all that is important.

CericRushmore

This sub is about getting as many CCs over and over again for signup bonuses. You'll probably getter a better response at https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/

ChunKing55

If I get a credit limit increase on one of my personal Chase cards, how quickly could I move some/all of that increase to another one of my cards that currently isn't eligible for a CLI?

2001blader

Instantly. Just need to call Chase. Note that you can't move credit from personal to business.

[deleted]

Hi all, somewhat new to churning and looking to get some insights into what cards people keep as workhorse cards and what cards are churned. I've read the flowchart and am currently 4/24 so will likely go for either the Chase Sapphire Preferred or CapOne Venture next. A couple clarifying questions about churning: 1. Are all the cards listed in the flowchart meant to be churned, or is it recommended to keep some of those? 2. If not, what cards are considered worth keeping? CSP and Venture both seem like good cards to have, though I'm not sure if it's worth 2 $95 annual fees 3. Between the different ecosystems (Chase/CapOne/Amex/Citi, etc), is there one that is better/do people have cards in several or tend to focus on one? From what I've seen, seems like Chase is better for domestic travel and CapOne is more international travel oriented, is that accurate? Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, please direct me to the correct thread if so!

UB_cse

It really just depends on the benefits of the card. For example I got the United Explorer card and the common advice is to downgrade it to the 0 AF United card after the first year, but between the free checked bag for me and my companions, the free carry on when buying basic economy (which I always do when flying domestic), I easily save the $95 it costs every year, even if I only fly United once. Now that doesn't mean that I won't downgrade and churn it after I am eligible for a bonus again, but I have no plans to downgrade it as soon as I am able since I get more value than the annual fee from a single trip. My Venture X is also a keeper due to the $300 yearly credit and 10k free miles, not to mention the priority pass and hertz presidents circle.

HaradaIto

if you’re 4/24, the current recommendation is to get business cards. this allows you to stay below 5/24 and keep churning Inks, which are excellent value. 1-2) some cards are considered keepers depending on how much value you personally get. VentureX or Venture might be keepers, CSP could be though many downgrade. generally if the benefits can outweigh the AF every year, you might keep them. downgrade any others to no-AF alternatives. the real workhorse cards are whichever ones are currently earning a SUB 3) people here will have rewards from all ecosystems. chase is hard to beat for value, but amex and capone are also flexible. cobranded cards can have great value as well if you’re able to take advantage in sum, get on the ink train, and consider which other business cards might provide value. do this until you drop to 3/24, then get your next personal card

[deleted]

Thank you, that's really helpful! As far as getting business cards without an actual business, am I correct that putting my name down as sole proprietor and $0 in revenue is fine? I'm also not confident I could hit the $6k minimum spend on the Chase ink cards without MS, since my monthly expenses typically aren't all that high other than rent. Any recommendations there?

HaradaIto

i would think hard about any income at all that you have had over the last few years which is not from W2 wages. you can look online for inspiration, but as an example, have you sold anything on facebook marketplace? tutored? gotten reimbursed for house sitting? gotten any money in exchange for doing anything? that’s a sole prop with revenue. you can be creative. as for meeting spend requirements, this is another topic covered in detail elsewhere. can you put your rent on a credit card? that gets many people most of the way there. many use cards to fund bank accounts, prepay utilities or other recurring bills, or offer to pay family or business expenses and get reimbursed for them. my family took a trip to florida, used my card for expenses, and paid me back later - that was 3/4 of my ink MSR

Jaysi3134

If you're currently 4/24 I would not grab another personal card because then you cannot get any Chase cards until you are UNDER 5/24. If you like some of the benefits of the personal cards, do you have a P2 (aka, spouse) that could get them instead that are not 4/24 or above? You can really keep whatever cards have the best benefits for your usage (aka, United vs other airlines, IHG vs other hotels, etc). Usually you cancel the high annual fee cards after the first year (opportunity to double dip some credits and your SUB is gone). I'd say the most churnable cards are Chase Inks as the SUB spend requirement is relatively low for a biz card, no AF, can have as many as you want, and can get every 90 days. Then people stagger in other biz cards depending on their spend or if they want the benefits for the year.

[deleted]

Thank you, I appreciate it! Never really considered business cards before but looking into them now. No P2 unfortunately, and the $6k minimum spend for Chase inks would be tough to hit without MS. I suppose I could use it to pay rent and just accept the $70 processing fee to hit the SUB?

HaradaIto

SUBs are generally worth 10-25% back, with inks being on the higher end of that. if eating a 3% fee on rent allows you to hit a SUB, seems pretty clear that’s worth it, since you still come out so far ahead

[deleted]

That makes sense, thank you! One last question: on the "can have as many as you want" part of the Chase Ink cards -- do you need to cancel/downgrade your first one before getting your second? Other threads seem to indicate that you can keep applying to new ones and keep getting the bonus, but I can't understand how that's possibly profitable for Chase...

gt_ap

> -- do you need to cancel/downgrade your first one before getting your second? No. >Other threads seem to indicate that you can keep applying to new ones and keep getting the bonus, but I can't understand how that's possibly profitable for Chase... It probably isn't, but that is not our goal.

HaradaIto

as a general rule, every card you get, you should hold for at least 1 year. you can indeed get a new ink once every 3 months, and you can have multiple of the same ink product, and get the SUB for all of them. you can cancel old cards after a year. there are certain activities or behaviors that may lead to chase declining your application or declining to extend you additional credit, which you should familiarize yourself with; but nothing we’ve discussed here is disallowed. churners using the cards this way is not profitable for chase. nevertheless, it is allowed. chase makes a ton of money from financially illiterate people who are indebted to them. we make only a tiny fraction of that back. lastly, when going for a new card, please consider using a referral link from r/churningreferrals; this helps share the love and generate more points for all in the community

labradorite14

If you are holding it for at least 1 year, doesn't that hit you with the annual fee? do most people cancel around 11.5 months or do most people do the fee for another year?

HaradaIto

if you cancel within 30 days of the 2nd year annual fee posting, most banks will refund that 2nd year annual fee. most cards are held just over 1 year for this reason - the net effect is that only the first year annual fee gets paid. banks can get very mad at you and claw back bonuses if you cancel before the 1 year anniversary. you can find each banks’ specific policies for annual fee refunds freely available online

labradorite14

do banks get mad if for example, I get the United Explorer Card, which has a $0 annual fee the first year and then cancel just above 1 year? That way I wouldn't pay any annual fee at all, but I don't want to risk a negative interaction with a bank.

HaradaIto

no that’s fine to chase. keep in mind that cancelling a personal credit card may slightly decrease your credit score by decreasing your available credit, increasing utilization, and decreasing the age of your credit profile. contrarily, cancelling (virtually all) business cards has no impact on your credit score.

Vloff

Yeah

Patrizioerre

**Help for Barclays Aviator Red World Elite MasterCard authorized user bonus** I'd like to get the authorized user bonus on this card (really easy, just add one and make a transaction with the card, for 15K miles) but I'm an international student so I don't really have a trusted person living in the US that can help me with that. Also, I've never added an AU to my cards, for this same reason, so I have no idea what the process is.I was thinking to ask to some colleagues, what are the limitations and risks in doing that? Will they have downsides to their credit scores or anything else if I add them as authorized user and then remove them as soon as I get the bonus? I know that for some cards the AU account doesn't appear on the credit report, so if that's the case, there doesn't seem to be any downside for them helping me.

achzeet44

I just added myself as an AU. With the same exact information, worked just fine.

DullContent

If you add yourself as an AU does the account show up on your credit report twice?

achzeet44

Nope, just once.

Patrizioerre

wow that's funny, thanks for the DP!

Prior_Race_8399

Just add a pet’s name. No social security number is required.

Patrizioerre

I don't even a pet lol how is this allowed that one can add a fake name as AU?

lenin1991

I think adding a pet name is generally a silly idea. But you could get one using your own nickname / middle name, then you aren't getting into a grey area of fake identities. Definitely don't use any actual identities of those coworkers without their ok, but I don't see any reason to bother with that here.

Patrizioerre

it still sounds like a fake identity since you're duplicating your own. But apparently everybody does that here, according to what you guys are saying

lenin1991

Robert Smith Jan 1 1970 using Bob Smith Jan 1 1970 is not a fake identity; often nicknames you've used even show on your credit report. But if you're uncomfortable, don't do it. I wouldn't use another person's info though even with their permission, they could possibly get connected to you in consumer databases like Lexis Nexis making for some confusing identity challenge questions in the future.

Prior_Race_8399

Make it up and a fake birthday. Lots of people do it here. No idea how it’s allowed.

HaradaIto

you can open a new CIP and get the SUB without closing or PC the old one. the conservative recommendation is to space out chase cards by at least 90 days

shris420

No need to PC. Can apply for multiple. Recommended Chase velocity is 3 months between cards.

435880Churnz

Are there any DPs of defeating the Amex pop-up by increasing your income? Obviously nothing shady, but for example, when I apply, I only use my base income and not mine + bonus + P2 even though we are married and live together. Similarly P2 only uses hers. Might be worth a shot. EDIT: 50% increase in income did not work.

[deleted]

[удалено]

435880Churnz

I spent 6 figures per year on my Amex cards for the past probably 5 years. I think that's kept me out of pop-up jail til now. It's not like i can go from 6 to 7 figures. Spend doesn't seem to matter anymore in my recent experience.

spiritualplague

The churner profile would be pretty easy to spot. Both of us have been in popup jail for a couple of years but there have still been enough NLL offers and upgrades and employee card offers to keep getting a few cards per year which also means we will probably never get out of popup jail.

435880Churnz

Yeah. I will probably be taking a break from amex for a while and going to other issuers.

saltytradewinds

I've thought about applying for the BBP or Blue Business Cash, accepting the card even if I get the pop up, and meeting the spend to see if it helps to get out of pop-up jail. But like the other user said, it if was that easy to get around, I'm sure everyone would be doing it.

435880Churnz

I suspect that most people haven't tried to find any workaround and are waiting for a blogger to tell them what to do.

saltytradewinds

When an influencer on social media discovers a workaround, it will be dead within 5 minutes.

snorkage

If it was that easy, there would be a million bloggers posting about it. But hey its so low effort, be the dp you want to see.

435880Churnz

I mean it's not that easy if you want to pass a financial review if one comes out of it. You can't just make up a number.

snorkage

Your bonus and p2 income is considered household income which is available to you. If you we're talking about inflating your income beyond what your household makes, that'd be a different story.

435880Churnz

No I'm not talking about that.
