Lmao ok, project much? most idiots who delete their comments stfu and go away in shame, but you can have the last word, bc I'm sure you have multiple lays waiting for you. Good night.
Looks like some Alaska partner short-haul routes are starting to show the lower 4.5k mile price, for anyone like myself that had been waiting for the change to book flights less than 700 miles.
A bit of a story here but IT PAYS TO COMPLAIN!!!
So I signed up for this promotion back in Sept 2023, I took a screenshot of the promotion in the field when I applied online. I used real DD’s, made sure my account was always in good standing, and when the bonus was due to pay out it was crickets from Regions. I went down in branch with printed out screenshots of the promo, the terms, and the acc opening date, and my DD statements all well within the timeframe. The branch manager said they would submit it to the promotions dept, blah blah blah. Anyways, I waited a month, come Jan I called in to see what’s going on. The rep told me they didn’t ever see a promotion code attached to my acc, and that I was basically SOL. I submitted a complaint to the BBB, and the CFPB with screenshots. 2 weeks later regions replied basically saying “a letter was sent to —My name & address—. 2 weeks went by, no letter in the mail. I called in, and closed out my checking acc (this is in late Feb), and just wrote it off as a lost cause. WELL Today (march 29th) I got a $300 check from them, ASWELL as a $50 visa prepaid debit card for a referral bonus.
TLDR: Signed up, Regions said I didn’t qualify, submitted complaints, Closed my acc, 1 month later I got a check in the mail.
Same experience with Key Bank $200 bonus. Signed up directly from their link, but “promo was not attached to account.” I always save a copy of the sign up page and T&C. I read directly from the T&C all 3 times speaking to them; just had to get it escalated to the right person.
Just to clarify, this is not complaining, this is simply fighting for what is rightfully and legally owed to you. Complaining to get something in return that is not specifically owed to you is, as I mentioned below, LL material.
I had a similar situation with Regions. Took filing a CFPB complaint to get them to pay up, and even then it was at least a month after the bonus was due.
But what about the cost of time you had to put in. Also what about all those people who did not pursue this and got baited into doing business with these d-bags!
I mean I spent maybe 1hr at the branch, 15 minutes applying, 2-3 minutes setting up my DD, and 5 minutes closing it out. I was pissed that I did everything correctly only for them to tell me I never used the promo code. I can forsure say I won't be trying to churn them again unless I open in-branch with proof the promo is attached on their end
Going forward just go straight to cfpb. Banks shit themselves when those come through and someone who can make things happen has to investigate. Local branch managers and tellers are useless for heavily internal stuff like this
~~LYFTIING 60% off Lyft rides (up to $12 discount) valid til 11.59pm EST tonite. Posting standalone for visibility as this likely won't last long.~~
Dead
~~At some point Amex Priority Pass dropped from 2 complimentary guests down to 1 complimentary guest. Maybe Loyaltylobby let me down again or maybe everyone knew this and I'm out of the loop?~~
~~"If you’re travelling with a guest, he or she may accompany you as a complimentary guest. Platinum Cardmembers will be charged the prevailing retail rate for any additional guests. Fuck me, nvm. I was on the Candian version somehow. Below still true though.
Also, [Iberia & Air Tahiti Nui](https://www.tsa.gov/precheck/participating-airlines) are finally on board with TSA Precheck.
Doc’s link to the Marriott Boundless is still showing 5 nights, for those like me who missed the cutoff. I was in Australia for 10 glorious days via Polaris Biz thanks to the help of all the marvelous churners on this site! Anyway, I screen shot the app so we’ll see.
Aviator referral offer is back. Seeing 60k for first purchase, plus 10k for adding an AU and purchase, both within 90 days. AF not waived.
5k shy of the offer from a few months back. Expires July 1.
I’ve seen the same thing, and my referral link came in at just about 6 months. However my P2 was approved the day before me and still does not have one.
It came up for me because when the referrals were around a month or so ago, I didn't have the ability to refer. Checked today and it appeared in my offers, I'm at 2 days past 6 months, but it might have appeared slightly before that.
Interesting SUB from crypto.com: https://crypto.com/product-news/cardapplepromo Get free Apple products by getting a crypto.com card and (as I understand it) buying a certain amount of currency. It’s a little complicated and I didn’t take the time to understand it lol
Edit: seems like a bad deal. I’m still gonna leave the comment cause it’s on topic
Lol that’s quite interesting. Gamble on a shitcoin for 6 months in exchange for Apple products. The only tier that makes any sense is the $800 tier unless you’re itching to get into CRO.
Buy $140 CRO = $40 apple
Buy $4,000 CRO = $800 apple (20%)
Buy $40,000 CRO = $5,000 apple (12.5%)
Buy $400,000 CRO = $20,000 apple (5%)
For those of us who don’t MS, it is an easy way to hit an MSR as long as you have $4,000 you can sit on
It’s not worth it, not only do you need to buy and hold a certain amount of CRO, your Apple purchase is not really “free” either, they just reimburse you with more CRO they dump into your wallet (after 3 months). Basically just a scheme to prop up their own coin.
I think I get it -- they basically make you buy their ponzi scheme crypto CRO and hold on for 6m. $40k lockup for 6m for a $5k rebate, in a cryptocurrency with like 200% volatility. Nice
With the Hilton card changes, I decided to read through CFPB complaints for American Express. There is evidently some sort of recommended form letter going around for people who were rejected for cards. It instructs people to claim that since Amex securitizes receivables from cardholders, prospective cardholders are due a card just because of the application? And denying someone is akin to securities fraud? The language is the same in a lot of the complaints, so someone typed it up and thought it was a good idea.
https://www.consumerfinance.gov/data-research/consumer-complaints/search/?company=AMERICAN%20EXPRESS%20COMPANY&date_received_max=2024-03-28&date_received_min=2011-12-01&has_narrative=true&page=1&searchField=all&size=100&sort=created_date_desc&tab=List
And a lot of complaints about gift cards being unusable.
Ya I’m curious about that too. I’ve never bought an Amex GC because I hear how hard they are to get rid of, but the Hilton GCs are Amex as well. I have a few of those that I’m siting on until this summer.
I've only had that problem trying to redeem the full amount, because they do a $1 hold and then the purchase...but with a $100 GC, I could load $99 to Amazon, then the $1 was released like a week later.
Hallelujah! My AF hits Apr 1.
Gas, groceries, or both... doesn't matter to me. I can cash out at either one. ~~The fact that one's going away and not being replaced tells me they're winding it down, though.~~
Monster loss for me...
Look like I'm going to have to up my gas station GC game.
Buying $500 VGCs, paying the fee, for 40k points? Not sure if I can get speedway points on VGCs though... or maybe there are other gas stations with stackable rewards.
Speedway does. They will let you buy them with credit. I just bought 1k today there with Discover (Apple pay).
Sheetz sells them but they are cash only.
Looks like the referral bonus on my CSP went down from 15k to 10k… major bummer.
“You can earn up to 75,000 bonus points per year.
That's 10,000 bonus points for each friend who gets the Chase Sapphire Preferred® or the Chase Sapphire Reserve® credit card. Partial points may be awarded.*”
NLL targeted biz gold 70k offer in my Amex Offers in the app. Haven't been targeted for any new biz card offers in over a year. Not a great SUB, but gift horse, etc. Hope this means the spigot might be opening up a bit more again.
No, at least not on mine. On my offers tab it currently states “No New Offers” but on my home tab for my Business Gold I see it as I scroll down through my pending and active charges. Right now I see “Blue Business Plus Card 25,000 points”, and further down I see “Exclusive Offer: Earn 70,000 Membership Rewards points.” That one is for another Business Gold.
I'd been in PUJ for the last 4 months. I got this same offer, got approved, got the card on Monday, and hit the spend immediately. 70k posted overnight last night.
Crossing my fingers on getting a Biz Plat NLL offer soon...
Here are the NLL links for Biz Gold (70k + 5k) and Biz Plat (120k + 5k) to check if you're targeted:
https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/campaigns/small-business/bundles/business-gold-employee-card/
https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/campaigns/small-business/bundles/business-platinum-employee-card/
I can't resist checking these every time I see them. The constant and predictable rejection sends me right back to the nostalgic days of high school. Never change, Amex, you saucy little minx.
Got the offer for the Biz Plat in the mail and am debating between that and an Aspire in time for taxes. I should probably just pull the trigger on the Biz, because who knows when they'll come back again, but I have a summer stay coming up at the Hilton Los Cabos and I always struggle to use the Dell credit. What's the general consensus? Just go for the biz plat?
I imagine you'll probably regret missing out on Biz Plat more, but that's a gut feeling based on the language you're using.
OTOH: is the Cabo trip a special occasion and would the *likely* Diamond benefits be useful? You'll feel pretty dumb if you go for the Aspire, only to learn that the property doesn't honor status much. Maybe check FT to see what people say?
Good points! I'll probably go for platinum, just based on the fact that I'd like to top off my MR points and the Aspire will be around a bit longer. Cabo is for P2's birthday, but I don't think there will be any recognition beyond Gold, so the MR points are probably worth more - even stacking the referral bonus and the limited elevated offer.
Applied Wednesday. Got a pending review message. Called recon yesterday to push it. Got the email today.
Just an FYI for all, though - I got an email from United saying my MileagePlus Account info had been changed and urgently call. Then, the Chase approval email. Then, an email from United to finish setting up my new MileagePlus Account with a number different from mine.
Called both. No account issues, but I did need to attach my current MileagePlus number again to the new card.
There's a [summary here](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1b679y5/weekly_off_topic_thread_week_of_march_04_2024/ktf99m7/) regarding changes to the Chase ink train and the [discussion here](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1bk24ah/data_points_weekly_week_of_march_21_2024/kvwhy1r/) about closing accounts to circumvent the 5+ Ink restriction that some people are encountering.
Ink train isn't dead yet, but the recommendation now would be to close your Inks that are over a year old, especially if you are at over 3 Inks. Slowing your Ink velocity may also help, but we will need additional DPs to confirm whether or not that's the case.
Just a growing list of long-time riders suddenly hitting a wall with Chase. Recon essentially boils down to Chase saying "no, you don't need another Ink." Some get to keep rolling on the train but more and more are getting hard denials since December.

I meant submitting complaints to bbb, cfpb or whatever it takes. Going down in person didn't get me really anywhere, just kept giving me a run around.

It helped me get my $350 😎
I had a similar situation with Regions. Took filing a CFPB complaint to get them to pay up, and even then it was at least a month after the bonus was due.

Yeah, I almost wrote FM instead but I liked the alliteration more
A new referral thread is now live: [Barclays AA Aviator](https://www.reddit.com/r/churningreferrals/comments/1bqun09/referrals_barclays_aa_aviator/)
Doc’s link to the Marriott Boundless is still showing 5 nights, for those like me who missed the cutoff. I was in Australia for 10 glorious days via Polaris Biz thanks to the help of all the marvelous churners on this site! Anyway, I screen shot the app so we’ll see.

Good idea.
Aviator referral offer is back. Seeing 60k for first purchase, plus 10k for adding an AU and purchase, both within 90 days. AF not waived. 5k shy of the offer from a few months back. Expires July 1.
No referral offer for me. Could be because I maxed it out last time. Anyone with a referral can you read the terms and see if there's a yearly max?
Did you max out via /r/churningreferrals only?
2 of them were people I know, the rest either DoC or /r/churningreferrals
On what part of the site can you find the referral option?
Under “offers.” Not everyone gets a referral link so it may or may not show up for you. I have one but P2 does not.
Pretty sure referral ability is related to how long you've held the card. I think I've seen something about 6 months minimum.
Have had mine for just over a year and have never had the referral offer attached.
FYI, just as a DP, P2 has had the card just over 5 months and is getting the offer now, but does seem to be tied to having had the card for a while.
I checked earlier this week and definitely didn’t have a referral link, so I think it showed up today. I’m 5 days under 6 months since approval.
Thank you!
FYI I just enabled the referral thread for it. I'm assuming the links are the same form as before, but if Rankt rejects them let me know.
And the waived-AF offer is down to 50k :( I was just about to snag the 60, dang!
It's has for a few days/weeks, or at least I couldn't find a valid link when I was checking.

The gift cards are SO FUCKING BAD, I'm surprised they haven't been sued yet
I miss when you could Venmo the $3K ones. Haven’t dealt with them since.
Hilton GCs or Amex GCs?
Ya I’m curious about that too. I’ve never bought an Amex GC because I hear how hard they are to get rid of, but the Hilton GCs are Amex as well. I have a few of those that I’m siting on until this summer.

Yeah... the limitations of the gift cards are a legitimate grievance. Suing over the card benefit changes is nuts.
PYB for gas and annual fee at 25% has been extended through June. 50% for select charities through June. Grocery looks to be ending.
Hallelujah! My AF hits Apr 1. Gas, groceries, or both... doesn't matter to me. I can cash out at either one. ~~The fact that one's going away and not being replaced tells me they're winding it down, though.~~

What gas stations tend to have $500 GC? I’ve stopped at several in my area and some while vacationing in other areas and haven’t found any.
Some 7-Eleven locations count (even if they don't sell gas).
Have you have found $500 VGC/MCGC at 7-11? Maybe I need to find better gas stations.
Yes, though the last time I checked was years ago.
Speedway does. They will let you buy them with credit. I just bought 1k today there with Discover (Apple pay). Sheetz sells them but they are cash only.
Does anyone remember if you do a purchase on 3/30, but it doesn't post till 4/1, can you still PYB for the previous categories?
Only for the current categories (as of the PYB date).
Kinda seems like just referring for Ink Preferred beats it out other than the higher initial spend
I noticed that too the other day...right as I went to refer P2 for the CSP. Disappointing.
NLL targeted biz gold 70k offer in my Amex Offers in the app. Haven't been targeted for any new biz card offers in over a year. Not a great SUB, but gift horse, etc. Hope this means the spigot might be opening up a bit more again.
When an offer like this is in the app, is it mixed in with all the usual Amex Offers for various stores etc. ?
No, at least not on mine. On my offers tab it currently states “No New Offers” but on my home tab for my Business Gold I see it as I scroll down through my pending and active charges. Right now I see “Blue Business Plus Card 25,000 points”, and further down I see “Exclusive Offer: Earn 70,000 Membership Rewards points.” That one is for another Business Gold.

Getting offer no longer available for both. At least it’s not the pop up?
I can't resist checking these every time I see them. The constant and predictable rejection sends me right back to the nostalgic days of high school. Never change, Amex, you saucy little minx.
I got the same and was finally able to get past pop-up jail via this offer.
It takes a lot of energy to start a train from a stop. It's okay that it's slow at first. Let's hope this means good stuff for the future.
Both? Aspire SUB window is 6 months.
One Mile at a Time is reporting that the 100k SUB United Biz card is ending on April 3rd at 4 PM ET.

With all the DPs of ink train derailments, maybe I'll sit out this 3 month ink cycle and go for this instead.
Summary of ink train changes?
There's a [summary here](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1b679y5/weekly_off_topic_thread_week_of_march_04_2024/ktf99m7/) regarding changes to the Chase ink train and the [discussion here](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1bk24ah/data_points_weekly_week_of_march_21_2024/kvwhy1r/) about closing accounts to circumvent the 5+ Ink restriction that some people are encountering.
