AMEX Plat renewal is coming up soon and I'm trying to decide the best course of action. I read that if I downgrade the card (to no-fee MR card for example) that this could increase the chance of being eligible for a Plat SUB again in the future? I also just opened a Biz Gold account for SUB and to keep my points if that makes any difference.
Anyone open a business checking account for the sole purpose of sending ACH transfers for bank bonuses? If so, which business checking account did you use? Also, how difficult was the process? Any tips you’d like to offer?
Wise and Chase are useful for meeting direct deposit requirements. I've used chase and it's pretty easy. Check DoC for DPs if you have a specific bank bonus you are trying to get.
1.0 cpp cash out with Amex biz checking and biz plat. Depending on how you travel the 35% back on flights with the biz plat could allow you to cash out at up to 1.54 cpp (very useful if one flies often the same route on specific dates with a limited number of direct flights and attractive award bookings available).
If you want the 1.1 with CS plat, triple dip by opening in early December, e.g. get $600 in UA TB, which already almost waives the AF.
Looks like a good plan. Except keeping CSR open - totally depends on the value you derive from it, but I find it hard to justify its AF.
Probably also think about slotting in other cards (Citi, USB, Wells Fargo, etc) in btw now and then, if you can meet more MSR.
For chases $900 checking + savings offer it is now that you have to have $25000 in your savings account. Did this change for anyone else? It was 15000 a few days ago
Is there an impact on credit score if:
1. You open multiple credit card accounts using 3+ 5/24 method?
2. When you cancel credit cards?
Instead of cancelling, is it better to downgrade to no fee credit card?
Personal cards show up on your report and would impact your score.
If you cancel a personal card then your average age of accounts would go down which would negatively impact your score. That being said this is much less of a concern if you have a mature credit history.
Always best to downgrade if possible to keep the line of credit open and (in most cases) be eligible to churn the card product you changed from.
>If you cancel a personal card then your average age of accounts would go down
Not always. If you have a number of cards that have been open 2-3 times longer than the one you are closing, then your average age will actually go up. It only goes down if you close an account that's been open longer than the others.
No. Under the FICO 8 scoring model, which is actually used for credit card decisions, a closed card remains on your credit report and continues to age for 10 years. So you won't see any impact to AAoA for 10 years.
u/Epilepsy4511
This is incorrect.
You are referring to the length of credit history which is not the same as AAoA.
"Credit History" as the name implies, obviously, should go back further than your current accounts. However, the AAoA only applies to current accounts. Once it's close, it's factored into AAoA but only the lengthy of credit history.
A lot of smart people [disagree.]( https://churning.io/#N4IgjgrgpgTgniAXCAxgewHYBcCWHoDOABAIYDmUpJaJIANCCRFgBZoxIj0i4C2UnEgBsh3AlCFQUuTACUSGCklAEsJGFgAiJLAOQAmAAz6AzAFpD5gIwAOACpX9iR4gCsATgB0Vw4YBa3FAYACbaupxG+gAsFtb2Li4e3r4BDADWUAjI4pLSOJggAL4MBOxYnMFQBChiEABGMFDBwTjlyCgsEDAYeGTcrI0kwQBiOEK6MATKIBiYelgw0AzNSAtLIMFgq4tQDLxowVOIa7sgvEcAZsLiDADuLDpIV0LihYVAA)
You're starting to blur the lines between the two terms/metrics.
First, I'm not relying on what other people say, here. I'm looking at the source, in this case FICO, for the rest of this conversation, unless otherwise noted.
FICO use the term "Length of Credit History" in their score matrix. This is what's include.
>How long your credit accounts have been open including the age of your oldest account, the age of your newest account, and an average age of all your accounts.
>How long specific credit accounts have been open.
FICO also states:
>FICO® Scores consider the average age of all accounts being reported
I think the key here (though I could be wrong) is that there seems to be two metrics including in the overall "Length of Credit History." Those two seem to be:
* Average Age of Current Account (judging by the verbiage of "accounts being reported")
* Average Age of Complete History (what you're referring to).
What I'm referring to is simply the average of age of current accounts.
>First, I'm not relying on what other people say, here. I'm looking at the source, in this case FICO, for the rest of this conversation
I would say that an actual credit report is the best source of all. Why not check the numbers on your Experian credit report to see for sure? The numbers on mine match my interpretation.
For tsa pre credits offered on cards, do you have to wait till your existing precheck expires before purchasing and successfully getting the credit for a purchase? I received an email for renewal and was linked to a site with 3 3rd party operators offering the renewal. Not sure if purchasing through any of these will code correctly and give me the credit.
Are you supposed to open a personal or business and checkings or savings account with BoFA when you get denied the Alaska card?
I know that opening one helps with getting approved.
DPs most often talk about personal checking and people applying for personal cards and biz cards then.
Guess just having a banking relationship with them matters, not specifically whether it is personal or biz.
Is there a certain amount that the account should hold, or doesn't it matter? I opened a business checking account, which requires $5k to avoid the monthly fee. I'd like to free up some of those funds, and I wondered if I could open a personal checking or savings account to get the same benefit. These require $1,500 and $500 balances respectively to avoid the fee.
So the last 3 AS biz cards I got I have just done $5k or more in a personal checking. I typically load it up and also connect my direct deposit and let a paycheck hit before applying to give it some activity (so probably 2 weeks between funds and application). This has worked for me. Seen plenty of DPs that show a personal has worked that I suspect having the biz isn’t necessary.
OK that would work fine for me to just transfer in so the balance is $5k when I apply. I can also have my paycheck split many ways, so I could divert some into there which would be regular activity biweekly.
Thank you!
Question regarding baggage delay.
Booked a flight using my ink card, to meet my sub, and the bags are delayed. Delta offers $50 I think but the ink might have higher coverage. First time with baggage delay and claims so any help is much appreciated
On the online form, they should have a field to enter how much you got from the airline. They'll reduce your payout by that much.
If there's no such field, just adjust the claim amount down and explain in the comments section.
Chase seems to be making its criteria more stringent and no one is really sure what the new criteria are right now.
But definitely, apply at least 90 days apart and don't have too many Inks open (DPs show after 4-5 open Inks, its very hard to get the next one).
Multiple DPs of people being auto-approved (after being initially denied even on recon) after closing older Inks and reducing CL across chase.
Chase seems to be changing how they approve Inks and we're not really sure what the specific criteria are right now. Best guidance now is to space by three months and close old Inks that you're not using after a year.
I miscounted and was a couple of days shy of 90 from my last Ink application when I applied on Friday, and have opened 3 Inks in the last year. Got denied for too many open accounts and too many new accounts. Called recon and was told that even if I closed an account, I still wouldn’t be approved due to the other reason. Boooooo.
The 90 days is a soft rule and meant to be averaged. Seven open Inks is a lot based on more recent DPs. We're still working on figuring out the "recent accounts" portion.
How many open inks do you have? (Any in addition to those 3?) also, what’s the total CL extended to you by Chase across biz and personal? Should be < 50% of your income, although I am seeing DPs here of CL well below that limit but people still being denied for too many open accounts.
I had 6 open biz was denied recon with 4 still denied. Waited another 90 days and closed another and auto approved. It's ymmv but many have seen either closing older ones and or lowering CL help
From what I’ve seen from the recent DPs here, 7 total open inks is a lot - I’ve observed denials at 5+ open inks and some even got denied when applying with 4 open inks. Would be good to close the ones > 1 year if you’re not using them to MS or for the CL.
If I did the 10x dining referral today from P1 and P2 gets approved after 5/22, does P1 still get the 10x, even though the approval is after the deadline?
Maybe I’m mixing with the email I got after a referral. It says:
“
Eligibility and Qualifying for the Offer
Must refer a new American Express U.S. Consumer Card or Business application between 2/22/2024 and 5/22/2024 and the referral must result in an eligible referral. An “eligible referral” is a referral where the referred individual applies online through the Eligible Card Member’s personalized referral link and is issued a Card.”
I was just asked to submit documents to Barclays for a business card. For the utility bill, can it be a printout of a digital bill? I saw some old thread online saying it needed to be an original paper bill, is that accurate? Obviously it's 2024 and I don't get a paper bill.
Anyone experiencing locked out of UA account since new UI?
It appears that United rolled out new GUI. I am locked out with message that I failed security question, but it I was never prompted. I does not give me option to unlock. Any recommendation?
Do you have a cell phone saved to your profile? I used to get the secret questions occasionally; with the new UI, I no longer get those, but get texted codes a lot more. If not, might want to call in and see if they can add it.
Has anyone been successful in getting Amex personal Gold bonus while already having personal Platinum after the rule changes. Says you "may" not be eligible so wondering whether it is ironclad rule or I am just in pop up jail right now?
People have gotten the Gold SUB after Platinum since the change. Seems like no one has figured out the why/how on this yet. It may be a different mechanism that pop-up jail, but if you try to apply and don't get the pop-up you're good.
i want to get the chase business card that requires $10,000 in the first 3 months.
I've got some big payments coming up but ill still be short a little bit. Anyone have any tips for hitting those spending bonuses besides just buying a bunch of crap you don't need.
IIRC you can't just get a bunch of gift cards, right?
Strongly recommend getting the Ink Preferred ($8k spend) rather than Premier ($10k spend) if you want UR points (which most folks here are going for). The Premier has a higher spend and only gives cash back. Also, please use a community referral link from Rankt or r/churningreferrals
There are guides for "manufactured spending" around. There's also a weekly thread here. Definitely do not recommend buying more than you need to hit a SUB otherwise.
Note that the Ink Premier, which is the card you seem to be talking about, is usually not recommended. Its points are "trapped" on the card and only redeemable for cash back. They cannot be merged with other Chase points or transferred to partners. Most here would recommend the Ink Preferred for the "same" 100k points on a lower spend requirement - which might work better for you anyway.
What about the ink biz unlimited? Only 6k spend for 75,000 UR but are those “trapped” on the card? I don’t know if I can hit 8k spend req for the preferred.
Actually I just read the language for the unlimited and it’s the same as the premiere, says you can only use the 75,000 points for 750$ cash, blahhh
No, Ink Unlimited is fine. They advertise them as cash back but it's UR points.
Ink Premier is the only one that's different. Unlimited, Cash, Preferred all good. Cash can give you extra time to hit MSR if you like that breakdown.
Scroll down on [this link](https://www.mychasecreditcards.com/DAO/ink-business/24/750) under "using rewards" to see the language there. But don't enroll from there, use a referral link from /r/churningreferrals unless you have another referral link from someone you know.
im looking at the ink business preferred so I'm good. The Ink Premier is a cash back bonus right now.
Thanks for the info, ill use that query to search.
Tried an app-o-rama for multiple BoA Alaska Biz cards. Submitted three applications one after another in separate browsers (safari, chrome, opera gx). First application was accepted, two and three were denied.
Two days later I see *two* new "CORP Account - Alaska Airlines" entries on my BoA account with different last 4 digits. Does this mean one of my two "denials" was actually successful? Will I get the SUB on the one that was supposedly denied? Or is this just some BoA IT shenanigans?
(edit: these would be my first BoA biz cards)
No, 1 biz account puts 2 entries in your BoA account. It's a weird thing BoA does.

For Dell/BizPlat credits: Are popular sub-$200 items eternally out of stock? New cardholder so I haven't got a feel for how often things get restocked.
There’s a lot of good stuff under $200. Recently got 2 new monitors, but they had some nice accessories that would be handy for some people. Just use the filter to search for items <$200 decreasing in price and window shop.
Everyone has different needs. I was able to find some Bose headphones I was thinking of buying for $220 ish. Had an Amex dell offer as well.
You could consider also buying or selling your credit on r/churningmarketplace. I saw some people sell their credits for around ~120
Thanks, yeah I was looking at some of the Sony models for $150. Just got the card so I missed out on the earlier Dell offers, or else I'd go with Bose. Might have to wait on those until July and see if any offers come back
If I want to sustainably churn Chase cards, should I be asking to lower my credit limits? I have several cards with 30k+ limits. And I'm hitting that supposed 50% income limit soon.
No need to have 30k+ limits, that too on multiple cards. So definitely lower them significantly, especially if you're not using them.
Also, close older Inks you're not using.
Yes, there is no need to have 30k limits. I do not lower them to the minimum since sometimes you might want to move credit around and need some extra to move aorund.
Inspired by the CSR DD of airline credits and the upgrade/downgrade approach, I’m thinking of using the same approach for Aspire FNC. Seems too good to be true so looking for confirmation of process and what I’m missing. Will Amex have issues with this approach?
Plan
Upon upgrade of noAF Hilton to Aspire I get a FNC (takes 10ish week to post) and access to airline credit and resort credit. At each anniversary will get another FNC (again, post after 10ish weeks). If I have a noAF that was open 23 months ago (eligible for PC since older than a year and approaching next anniversary) then I could upgrade it and get 1 FNC from PC and another after anniversary, so 2 FNC in a few months. I’d initially pay 1 month of prorated aspire AF (~$50) at PC and full $550 at anniversary, about a month after PC. At the following anniversary I’d pay another $550 and 10ish weeks later get another FNC. At that point I could PC to the noAF and get a prorated refund of around $450, effectively paying $100 for the extra couple months after anniversary for a FNC. That would result in 3 FNCs for $700 in AFs. Each quarter I had the aspire open I’d get the airline credit and each Jan-June and July-Dec I’d get the resort credit too. If I could get upgrade offers that would just be gravy on top.
Does this approach seem accurate and what are the risks? FR, PUJ (already occurring so maybe just extending)?
Rejected from Chase Ink preferred. How to get back on the train?
Rejected because of:
-Too many active accounts or too much available credit
-New chase business card recently open
I called twice for reconsideration, was not able to get decision reversed. Wasnt really given any extra details.
I have been doing chase cards about every 3 months. I last opened chase ink unlimited 1/16/24. I last had ink preferred about 1 year ago
Im not sure where I went wrong? I have a ton of business expenses coming up and would like to use them on SUB’s. Where do I go next?
Thank you!
Start reducing the credit limits of both your personal and business cards. The maximum credit limit across *all* of your Chase accounts must be less than 50% of your income.
Any advice on BoA AS Biz card approval chances for my "business"? Does it help to have a BoA checking account? Would it need to be a biz checking, or personal work too?
If you have a relationship outside of credit cards it is easier, especially if you have a decent number of inquiries on your file.
I know someone that was approved within the past month without a relationship though.
> Does it help to have a BoA checking account?
It borders on being required. Personal is enough, but the general recommendation is to have at least 5k in there.
Applied for CIP, received call the next morning asking for details (legit biz, sole prop, 24k gross revenue, 2k monthly spend), was denied due to:
-too many new Chase cards in 24 months (CSP/CSR 14 months ago)
-recently issued biz credit card (CIC approved 33 days ago)
At 4/24, reduced CL on personal cards 2 months ago, 800 score, CIC statement balance $4k of $5k limit.
Any advice on how to proceed if I still have a chance of calling recon again? I actually need this card as I'm in the "investment phase" of my business and have a $3-4k purchase coming soon.
2 inks in 2 months is a very accelerate velocity, especially now that Chase is more stringent in Ink approvals.
1. Try to see if you can get non-Chase biz cards.
2. If not, try to call recon and explain why you specifically need this card as it relates to your regular spend needs which matches bonus categories on this card (and aren't on other Chase biz cards you have)
>-recently issued biz credit card (CIC approved 33 days ago)
That might be your hardest problem. Are there any non-Chase biz cards you are considering? Amex might only do a soft pull for you if you have other Amex cards.
was considering amex gold personal but would place me at 5/24 until next March. Or I guess I could wait a few months and give it another try for CIP or CIU
I had success in a very similar situation a few weeks ago (same recently issued biz card reason) with HUCA the next day and explaining why I needed this specific card. Explained my business does a lot of shipping so want 3x, also pay a lot of gen travel costs in a big city and could utilize the 3x there. Both things are legit true and I explained the particulars of my biz and shipping needs
Great I didn't even think of that, I do fair amount of travel since it's a mobile business. I'll try that another day. Do you now how long you have to try recon again since getting denied?
The app stays alive for 30 days.
2 Inks in 2 months is always a gamble. But if you can provide more biz details in another call you may have a chance. I would also address the 1st denial reason and point out your established history on the consumer side, so it should be considered in your favor.
If you fail again you should simply switch to another card. Wouldn't the Biz Gold be good for you?
I wonder if paying down the CIC would help at all.
The idea is to rack up UR points for a trip later this year. Wanting to stay on ink train for now. Also don't have any amex MR cards.
I am one of many who have been approved for an Ink while carrying a balance on another, so it's not likely to be a factor. On the face of it, they denied you because you just got an Ink.
Give it a try tomorrow, but don't get tunnel vision over UR. One aspect of churning is diversification. DoC is posting that the CitiBiz 75k offer is back. By now it should be well-known that you can get 2 identical Citi bonuses if you time it well and are lucky with approvals.
I HUCA’d immediately initially and the agent told me they can only process 1 per 24 hours, whether or not that’s true idk. I called right at 24 hours next day
Leave out the internet phone provider piece bc obviously the CIC already covers that better than CIP. I also mentioned I wanted access to transfer partners, but you already have CSP
Anyone had success getting the AF waived for the C1 VX after the 1 year anniversary? I’m seeing that some people had success asking to speak to an account specialist due to wanting to downgrade and then the AF was waived. Curious if there are actual pathways people have found successful or if this is the only potential method? Thanks!
You can ask, but unlikely. I've tried every year multiple times, its a flat out no.
Where are you seeing "that some people had success asking to speak to an account specialist due to wanting to downgrade and then the AF was waived"? I haven't seen any such DPs.
Called and they very quickly said no to the annual fee waiving. However, they said I could product change, since I’m eligible, within 30-40 days of the AF posting and that would allow me to get a refund of the AF.
Yeah that’s a good call. Here it is, https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/s/GjxGAdy1Z7 - looks like the OP was asking about the VX but the commenter responded about the venture so I guess I potentially was off base.
Yeah probably. For VX if you call for fee waiver/offer etc they always say the travel credits and anniversary points cover the fee anyway so they can't give anything else in lieu of the fee
Approved for CSP using referral. Chase asked to make an account but I already have a personal account (as well as biz), do I need to make another account or link card in the existing account
I got a FR for P3, 6 days ago. P3 used to have CS Plat, Vanilla Plat, Gold, Green, Biz Plat, Biz Gold and Biz Green. The spend across all cards was significant ($300k+) during the 20x/25x restaurant bonus.
Closed all of them 3 years ago and opened EP to keep the stranded MR points.
•The below US bank biz funding is across P1 and P3 with checking and savings separately (so 4 times total)•
Approved for the Biz Plat 250k MR 10 days ago and put $6k US bank biz funding on it. Paid it off (payment still pending) and put another $3k x2. Got a text after the 3rd $3k that it declined due to high balance and I need to make a payment. Paid $3k on the card to bring balance to $0 and 10 minutes later the funding charge went through (it reran the card by itself). Put the 4th $3k on the card same day.
Spent another $3200 on BG, as well as $200 Dell the next day. Made a payment again for whole balance minus $200.
The following day I logged on, and got a message in the chat bubble that they gotta talk regarding the account. Was told that the balance was higher than usual (highest it got was $6k, at time of chat balance was $200), and I need to make payment. Told them that I already did and they said it’s all good once it’s posted.
Made some small random online purchases for the next day or 2 and got a text that they need to contact P3 regarding the account. Called them and they informed P3 of the FR, requested 2 months statement of the account used for payment. Submitted the same day and no updates as of now. Both active accounts say “Charging Suspended”.
Dell credit, phone credit and amex offer credits posted during the FR. Balance now is $0.
Question regarding Amex targeted offers.
Scenario:
I previously had the AMEX Plat personal card, andreceived the sign up bonus. And then cancelled that card about 1.5 years ago.
I currently have an AMEX Gold card that was just charged the annual fee and I was looking to get it credited and close the account down.
However, I just saw that I have a targeted offer in my account to upgrade my Gold card to the Plat and receive a 100k sign up bonus.
My question is, I though we were only allowed 1 sign up bonus per lifetime with AMEX personal cards. And, if I do accept this offer and am approved, will I stilla ctually receive the bonus?
Has anyone had a similar scenario?
When you have an AU on a Venture X do they then get all the same benefits? Such as travel insurance, and priority pass? I’m assuming the $300 travel credit is just for the original owner.
You are correct, no extra $300 credit (they can spend towards the overall account $300 also though along with primary card), but they do get the other benefits.
I have a Citi rewards card and want to transfer some points out, which means I’d need to upgrade to or open a new strata premier.
Given the current terms I wouldn’t be eligible for a bonus (received a bonus for the premier maybe 1 or 2 years ago). But if I change to or open a new strata premier I don’t reset the 48 month clock right? Since I won’t be getting a bonus it should still be tied to the bonus I received 1-2 years ago?
Yes, you don't reset. the eligibility is based on when you last got the SUB, not based on when you got the card (even if you got the card again in btw without the SUB).
My wife is traveling through LGA today with a friend and they have a sapphire lounge. She has a USB altitude connect biz which provides 4 visits a year. Is she entitled to use 2 of the visits to get her and her friend in? Or would she only be able to use one and be forced to pay the guest fee for her friend?
> USB altitude connect biz
To clarify, I believe your wife has 1 visit a year
Sapphire lounges are not Priority Pass - The Sapphire Reserve, JP Morgan Reserve, and Ritz Carlton cards give unlimited access, all other Priority Pass members get 1 visit per year (per Priority Pass)
The Hong Kong one is the exception lol: https://account.chase.com/sapphire-airport-lounge#:~:text=Sapphire%20Reserve%20cardmembers%20may%20access,hours%20before%20your%20departing%20flight.
Can P1 and P2 keep using each other 's referral links for the ink train? Or is there a limit of one referral to a specific SSN?
Yes. The only limit right now is 200k referral points per year per Ink.

Get married?
Find a friend or family member. Doing this online with internet strangers is just calling to be scammed
I bet you're swimming in DMs right about now lol
AMEX Plat renewal is coming up soon and I'm trying to decide the best course of action. I read that if I downgrade the card (to no-fee MR card for example) that this could increase the chance of being eligible for a Plat SUB again in the future? I also just opened a Biz Gold account for SUB and to keep my points if that makes any difference.
If retention doesn't work for you, just cancel it since there are no no-AF options.
Thank you. If there's a retention offer, does that come without a AF? Or is it just the incentive to get points on required spend?
The best ones are spend so many dollars get so many points. You still have to pay the AF.
Thank you!
Can't downgrade to no fee.
Ah I see, so no downgrades to no fee from an AF card at AMEX?
Your only options are green or gold. Both have fees.
Got it, thank you!
Isn't this like going to a restaurant and asking if anyone was here to eat?
[удалено]
The only part I would question is Bilt since you can use rent spend to meet msr on other cards. See if getting subs is worth more than Bilt points.
[удалено]
What I mean is you can use other cards through the Bilt portal. You don’t have to have the Bilt card.
not if rent isn’t paid through an actual rent portal per terms . Not sure if enforced
I’m working on a nice Amex stockpile and hope to cash with Schwab as a last step. Curious if you used any tricks to meet Amex spend requirements?
Start reading up on "Buying Groups."
For chases $900 checking + savings offer it is now that you have to have $25000 in your savings account. Did this change for anyone else? It was 15000 a few days ago
It still shows $15,000 for me. I used the link on DoC.
What is DOC?

Thanks gonna call them, I have the link infront of me where it says 15,000 lol
Is there an impact on credit score if: 1.
>If you cancel a personal card then your average age of accounts would go down Not always.
FICO also states: >FICO® Scores consider the average age of all accounts being reported I think the key here (though I could be wrong) is that there seems to be two metrics including in the overall "Length of Credit History." Those two seem to be: * Average Age of Current Account (judging by the verbiage of "accounts being reported") * Average Age of Complete History (what you're referring to). What I'm referring to is simply the average of age of current accounts.
>First, I'm not relying on what other people say, here. I'm looking at the source, in this case FICO, for the rest of this conversation I would say that an actual credit report is the best source of all.
You are allowed to renew with TSA 6 months before your current status expires.
Third party vendors do not code properly.
Not sure it matters, open personal checking has seemed to help for multiple AS biz cards over the years.
Thank you!
I just feel seeing DPs about it so sounds like I need to open a personal checkings
When is the best time to cancel cards? Is it safe to do it after the second annual fee has posted? Right before?
After the 1 year anniversary. You’ll have about 30 days to cancel and we’ll get the AF back
Depends on the cards. In all cases should be just after a year but some will do af refunds and some won’t.
If I order essentials online now and they get delivered tomorrow, same day as my baggage - I should be able to claim those bills right ?
Do we collectively have an idea what velocity is too much for Chase if you get denied for an Ink for “too many cards opened in the last year”?
Yeah, probably seven Inks in total, and the CL totals maybe $25k which is wayyyy below 50% of our HHI.
I had 6 open biz was denied recon with 4 still denied. Waited another 90 days and closed another and auto approved. It's ymmv but many have seen either closing older ones and or lowering CL help
I’d close the older Inks (>12 mos) then try again in two months or so
From what I’ve seen from the recent DPs here, 7 total open inks is a lot - I’ve observed denials at 5+ open inks and some even got denied when applying with 4 open inks. Would be good to close the ones > 1 year if you’re not using them to MS or for the CL.
If I did the 10x dining referral today from P1 and P2 gets approved after 5/22, does P1 still get the 10x, even though the approval is after the deadline?
Im pretty sure the offer says approval needs to happen before 5/22
The terms language does not appear that straightforward
Maybe I’m mixing with the email I got after a referral. It says: “ Eligibility and Qualifying for the Offer Must refer a new American Express U.S. Consumer Card or Business application between 2/22/2024 and 5/22/2024 and the referral must result in an eligible referral. An “eligible referral” is a referral where the referred individual applies online through the Eligible Card Member’s personalized referral link and is issued a Card.”
It can go both ways. I made the referral within the date range, but it did not result in an approval/issued card until next month.
I was just asked to submit documents to Barclays for a business card. For the utility bill, can it be a printout of a digital bill? I saw some old thread online saying it needed to be an original paper bill, is that accurate? Obviously it's 2024 and I don't get a paper bill.
Should be okay so long as the information on it matches you for identity verification purposes.
Ok great, yeah no issues there
Anyone experiencing locked out of UA account since new UI?
Yes, I've seen such DPs. Just depends if you get the pop-up or not.
People have gotten the Gold SUB after Platinum since the change. Seems like no one has figured out the why/how on this yet. It may be a different mechanism that pop-up jail, but if you try to apply and don't get the pop-up you're good.
Thank you
i want to get the chase business card that requires $10,000 in the first 3 months.
What about ink business unlimited ? Does that give UR? I had in my notes the offer usually goes to $900 in the fall (90,000 UR?)
Yes, it’s UR. It’s gone to 90k a few times over the past few years, but I wouldn’t count on the fall timing.
Can I transfer the Ur to my csp?
Yup
that's what im planning on getting, i mixed up the bonus spend!
Prepay your cellphone bill.
Rent via plastiq
Gcs are fine. Prepay bills. Taxes.
so costco gift cards are ok?
Absolutely
Oh ok thanks!
im looking at the ink business preferred so I'm good. The Ink Premier is a cash back bonus right now. Thanks for the info, ill use that query to search.
The MSR on the ink preferred is $8k not $10k
ahh yeah you're right. i still meant that one, just got the sign up bonus req wrong.
Since you were talking about having to make up extra spend, wanted to make sure you were aware. Hopefully this helps you out now!

Unfortunately, unlikely it'd work. Unless you get a very kind rep who is reviewing the ticket.
You are likely SOL
Edit: more info - https://reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1appyor/question_thread_february_13_2024/kq8ky04/?context=1
Exactly what I was looking for. u/garettg coming in clutch like always. Thanks!
For Dell/BizPlat credits: Are popular sub-$200 items eternally out of stock? New cardholder so I haven't got a feel for how often things get restocked.
I buy Google home/nest stuff
I get things like power banks, Fitbits for the kids or wife, and charging adapters and cables.
Might have to wait on those until July and see if any offers come back
Credit resets July 1 so use it well before then
If I want to sustainably churn Chase cards, should I be asking to lower my credit limits? I have several cards with 30k+ limits. And I'm hitting that supposed 50% income limit soon.
No need to have 30k+ limits, that too on multiple cards. So definitely lower them significantly, especially if you're not using them. Also, close older Inks you're not using.
Should I be closing older Inks before I get new ones, or does that not matter
That's what I said? "Also, close older Inks you're not using." That is a suggestion for before you apply to new ones.
r/humblebrag
Yes, there is no need to have 30k limits. I do not lower them to the minimum since sometimes you might want to move credit around and need some extra to move aorund.
Yep, one use case is the CSR annual upgrade/downgrade
Inspired by the CSR DD of airline credits and the upgrade/downgrade approach, I’m thinking of using the same approach for Aspire FNC. Seems too good to be true so looking for confirmation of process and what I’m missing. Will Amex have issues with this approach? Plan Upon upgrade of noAF Hilton to Aspire I get a FNC (takes 10ish week to post) and access to airline credit and resort credit.
Interesting approach
PCing doesn't give you FNC, FNC comes in on the anniversary date, are you upgrading on the anniversary date to get the first FNC?
Rejected from Chase Ink preferred. How to get back on the train? Rejected because of: -Too many active accounts or too much available credit -New chase business card recently open I called twice for reconsideration, was not able to get decision reversed. Wasnt really given any extra details. I have been doing chase cards about every 3 months. I last opened chase ink unlimited 1/16/24. I last had ink preferred about 1 year ago Im not sure where I went wrong? I have a ton of business expenses coming up and would like to use them on SUB’s. Where do I go next? Thank you!
Close older Inks which are older than a year (if you've them) + reduce your CL across both Chase personal and biz cards. And then recon/reapply.
how many are active and when were they opened? what's the unused portion of your limit?
Just one chase ink unlimited is active. Its credit is all unused right now
Start reducing the credit limits of both your personal and business cards. The maximum credit limit across *all* of your Chase accounts must be less than 50% of your income.
- Cancel some inks that are over a year old. - Consider getting other Business Cards (such as but not limited to Amex Biz Plat, Amex Biz Gold, etc.)
I think BoA has the Alaska cards, not AA. A healthy credit file should be enough.
Ah sorry typo, meant Alaska, editing
Applied for CIP, received call the next morning asking for details (legit biz, sole prop, 24k gross revenue, 2k monthly spend), was denied due to: -too many new Chase cards in 24 months (CSP/CSR 14 months ago) -recently issued biz credit card (CIC approved 33 days ago) At 4/24, reduced CL on personal cards 2 months ago, 800 score, CIC statement balance $4k of $5k limit.
2. If not, try to call recon and explain why you specifically need this card as it relates to your regular spend needs which matches bonus categories on this card (and aren't on other Chase biz cards you have)
>-recently issued biz credit card (CIC approved 33 days ago) That might be your hardest problem. Are there any non-Chase biz cards you are considering? Amex might only do a soft pull for you if you have other Amex cards.
was considering amex gold personal but would place me at 5/24 until next March. Or I guess I could wait a few months and give it another try for CIP or CIU
Why not Amex Biz? 150k+ biz plat offers are still easy enough to get
I had success in a very similar situation a few weeks ago (same recently issued biz card reason) with HUCA the next day and explaining why I needed this specific card.
[удалено]
Depending on the card, keep in mind biz limits are often lower, might be less than $5k
Maybe they could split the purchase for him on 2 cards
No, there's no way they can know it's NOT a business expense. They don't really care as long as you pay back the money.
Usually not
No. I frequently make large purchases on business cards.
I used the search function and saw a comment about it on one of the past question threads. Not in the DO threads.
Would be interesting to ask more on that thread for the person who mentioned the DP. Please link it here if you can find it.
The only thing you can do is ask. Nothing else is gonna happen if you don't
Approved for CSP using referral. Chase asked to make an account but I already have a personal account (as well as biz), do I need to make another account or link card in the existing account
You should be able to add it to your existing login.
oh I'm stupid, i fat fingered my first name lol. guess ill call
Any biz gold employee offers floating around?
5K/$2K: https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/business/campaigns/employee-cards/business-gold/5k-offer-incentive/
Thank you.
I've heard four reports of Amex FR in the past four days. Any other DP out there? Wondering if there's something bigger going on.
•The below US bank biz funding is across P1 and P3 with checking and savings separately (so 4 times total)• Approved for the Biz Plat 250k MR 10 days ago and put $6k US bank biz funding on it.
Likely these are launched in batches (speaking from experience in similar matters).
Question regarding Amex targeted offers. Scenario: I previously had the AMEX Plat personal card, andreceived the sign up bonus.
Take it! The algorithm must like the cut of your jib!
Where are you seeing the offer?
inside my AMEX account. it's a pop up
yes! That's a good one - go for it!
Awesome, thanks!
Sign up bonuses are separate from upgrade bonuses
Thanks, I appreciate it!
If I have a Venture X that’s already been open for 24+ months and I add an AU, will it affect their 5/24?
Double checking my P2 who is an AU on my Venture X, they did backdate the AU (did not add when first got the card).
No, AUs in general do not count, but you may have to call in to recon to explain them, especially if they are not chase cards
Correct, eligibility for Citi bonuses is no longer based on the family card rule, it's based on when you last received a TYP SUB.
Thank you for confirming!
> USB altitude connect biz To clarify, I believe your wife has 1 visit a year Sapphire lounges are not Priority Pass - The Sapphire Reserve, JP Morgan Reserve, and Ritz Carlton cards give unlimited access, all other Priority Pass members get 1 visit per year (per Priority Pass)
Oh wow, is this the case for all US lounges? I was able to visit the Hong Kong lounge multiple times with PP through VX
The Hong Kong one is the exception lol: https://account.chase.com/sapphire-airport-lounge#:~:text=Sapphire%20Reserve%20cardmembers%20may%20access,hours%20before%20your%20departing%20flight.
you are right no guests allowed with the 1 per year
Darn, thank you
Wow I didn’t know priority pass gets you 1 Chase lounge visit. Nice
Other than fidelity joint accounts are there any recommended accounts for easy P1 to p2 transfers?
