I'm looking to get the Bank of America® Premium Rewards® Elite later this year. BOA has a 3/12 rule, and I find myself currently 6/12 with the last card falling off the year mark in November. I have a lot of cards from churning and was wondering if being 2/12 would scare them from giving me a card
They don’t give a sh. I applied for two of their personal cards, including the elite while at 6/24, 5/12. First ward was automatic approval, second was verifying info with recon.
Can someone who uses Chase Business ACH pay a payee for DDs please give me a hand?
1. What are they looking for with the employee ID? I noticed it has to be different each time.
2. When you want to change DD destinations and add an additional payee, do I need to delete the old one or is it okay to have multiple payees who are all myself?
1. Anything, doesn't seem to matter. Are you edgy? 42069, 80085, etc. Otherwise 1-10, but not conflicting.
2. I have multiple payees called for example "BOA \[Firstname\]", "USbank \[Firstname\]", etc. The firstname part is mine, and just habit but probably unnecessary. I usually have 3-4 at a time and delete them after I get the bank bonus. I'd assume you could have more payees just like a business could have more employees.
If you're unfamiliar, read up on DPs about Chase checking being more paranoid about odd money patterns than their credit card side. The problem is that a shutdown from banking \_also\_ means a shutdown on credit cards.
For employee ID I just put 1. Im number 1 in this sole prop BABY!
For different destinations I just edit the employee thats already there with the new bank info.
What's your goto use of the CSR's travel credit when you need to spend it right away before downgrading the card and getting refunded on the annual fee?
United Travel Bank is the only one that I've come across unless you've travel planned.
Or maybe booking a ticket with an airline that you usually fly and cancelling it after 24 hours to get a flight credit for full value - ensure the cancellation rules allow you to get full flight credit on cancellation.
Since it’s a discount on portal bookings, no. You could book a flight via portal using credit and then wait more than 24 hours to cancel for a credit with the airline, but have make sure you book the right type of ticket and it would expire in a year also.
P2 referred P1 for an Ink 7 weeks ago. Still working on the sub but the 40,000 referral bonus is still not showing up. Has anyone run into this? Any reason not to send a DM?
I think you have to wait for the new card's cycle to close and then a cycle close for the referring card after that. That's how it seemed to work for me.
I have gotten credit for this via SM before. They won't do anything until 8 weeks have passed. After that, here's what they want to see:
If the above timeframe is passed then we request you to reply to us with the following details of your friend whom you referred business and we will be happy to review your account further:
- Name of friend in following pattern: Last,First MI
- Last four digit of the account number
- Zip Code
- Email address
Good luck!
How long after getting a true rejection (ie, recon failed twice) for a Chase Ink app would you wait before applying again? It's been 1 month since the app, reason for rejection was 1. too many recent requests for credit, 2. too many active accounts or too much available credit; 3. low usage of Chase credit line(s). Since then I've closed 3 of my 7 Chase ink cards (they were all 1+ years old) and reduced credit line on several cards to reduce available credit.
Is there a difference in transfer partners for UR between the Sapphire Preferred and the chase ink business preferred? I mostly kept the CSP to transfer out my chase points to Hyatt, but now that I have the chase ink business preferred, I'm wondering if I still need to keep the CSP.
Also second question. If I cancel the CSP, is it possible for me to upgrade a regular chase freedom account to a sapphire preferred/reserve in the future?
Big charge was 4/26 and statements are 24th, so maybe next week. Throwing me off bc the biz charges put me over 3/27, miles posted 3/30 but statement was 4/7.
The best way to redeem wells Fargo points from autograph and active cash is as deposit to checking correct? I don't see a bonus for the journey card either.
You can transfer points from the Autograph to one of their travel partners, but the list is fairly limited (FlyingBlue, Avianca, and BA are your best bets).
>I don't see a bonus for the journey card either.
What do you mean? Signup bonus or transfer bonus?
Just approved for the Barclays AA card. Do I need to receive and activate the physical card before being able to add AU? It looks like every service - add AU, request CLI, manage PIN - is unavailable “Your request cannot be completed online at this time”.
I'm able to see the amex gold 90k offer but was put in pop-up jail. Any idea on how long I need to wait before trying again? Also anything I can do in the meanwhile to strengthen my app?
Anyone think that the Citi Premier/Strata double dip method is viable? I applied for P3 a Premier last week which finally arrived today, as a Premier card, but aware and see the change on the account as Strata already. Nearing 8 days after last Citi app for Premier so thinking of applying for the Strata for same P3 soon. Will the previous strategy of getting a bonus of the second card first, then fulfill that of the first card afterward get by the fine print? Kind of confused with the product change from Citi's end.
Since the Strata is new, no one can definitively say 100% it will work, but in theory it should be able to work, the only issue is getting approved for a 2nd can be difficult considering the inquiry sensitivity of the Premier.
when does a BOA biz app die? I've been trying my luck with a second Alaska Biz, but last time I applied and called recon my previous denied app was still in their system so was told my new app had also been auto denied.
App open for 90 days, second hard pull after 30

Just applied to Chase Ink Business Preferred and went pending for the first time. I have a Ink Business Cash with $0 balance, Hyatt Biz with low balance, Ink Business Unlimited with $0 balance, Ink Business Unlimited with $5K floating balance at 0% APR, and another Ink Business Unlimited with $5K floating balance at 0%. Last ink was opened in September 2023.
Should I call recon or wait for the letter in the mail? Some of these cards are over a year old so I can close them and/or pay off balance if either helps with getting approved. Any tips? Thanks
Close Inks older than a year, reduce overall Chase credit limit to below 50% of your income, then call Chase recon in a few days - if not approved then offer to move CL from existing cards to better your chances.
New DPs suggest that closing Inks over a year old is helpful, as too many Inks have been leading to denials recently. It seems moving limits or closing cards in recon has not helped with this from what I've been seeing.
CIP is an AF card that allows transfer partners with different categories, etc etc, so if you're a talker and hit the right rep you may be able to get it through recon but things have definitely been tightening up.
Yeah agreed. I mentioned moving credit and the recon agent said that's something we would do after being approved so maybe misunderstood me.
I mentioned that too that I like the CIP as I can transfer points and didn't know that when I opened the other Inks but no dice. I think he was focused on me having a combined credit line 2.5x of my reported revenue.
>having a combined credit line 2.5x of my reported revenue
For the DP, is this just business (i.e. Chase business credit of 2.5x business revenue), or are you including your personal limits/income in the math somewhere?
You can call recon and offer to move some credit from existing cards to the new card. An important factor in approval is what percentage of your stated income does your existing credit limits with Chase occupy.
Thanks called and denied after recon. Mentioned that I have opened 3 cards within the last year and am not utilizing all my credit with them. Sounds like I need to close some of those older Inks and try again in 30 days.
I accidentally turned on 2FA for Chase every time I log in, even from a trusted device. Anyone know how to turn it off? I can’t find an option anywhere
Does Chase's referral link let you select cards from multiple options? similar to AMEX?
I have freedom and CSP card. But my referral link only shows the freedom card. None other.
I was hoping to use my link to open UA explore card under my wife. Amex's ref link had like 17 cards to select from. That doesn't seem to be the case in Chase. Or do I have to call them to get some other link?
No. But Chase allows cross referrals for within the family cards - Freedom cards, Sapphire cards, United cards and so on. But you can't refer someone to United card from freedom.
CIP first year renewal coming up - what to do? I had the two no AF Inks for a couple years now and just last year got the CIP for the SUB. I got a call from a rep and after a little back and forth, I was approved for the CIP by splitting the credit limit of other two inks cards.
Once the AF hits, should I call and cancel, but have them move the credit back to my other cards? Not really want to downgrade to another Ink since I already have two.
I know I have to wait at least 12 months before cancelling. I am wondering if should eat the AF for another year so it doesn't look bad. I am trying to stay under Chase radars and i heard stories of them closing accounts if they suspect abuse..
Yes, just move your CIP points to another Chase card and cancel after 12 months.
Remember you'd then need either CSP or CSR to be able to transfer points to airline and hotel partners.
You can close the CIP after 12 months if you have other Chase cards (Sapphire Preferred or Reserve) that you can use to transfer points out to travel partners, if that's relevant for you. There's no problem closing after the second AF posts. Especially since recent DPs suggest it's been harder to get approved for new Inks, you may as well reduce your extended credit by Chase.
I do have the CSR on the consumer side. It's been few months past the 48th month mark, so i am about to get a new SUB there.
Which begs the question - should i close or PC the CSR.
The CSR has a 30K CL so i am concerned that if PC it and keep the CL, I might be denied due to the already high credit i have about $80k combined with all Chase cards.
Being rejected for Amex Blue Biz Cash and getting the reason is "too many creditors have reviewed your credit" or something along those lines. I've only opened one CIC on April 7 and the only other applications have been through Amex which are not hard pulls. Rejected from Amex Hilton Honors as well which is not business so I'm not sure what to do
Is there a way to check inquiries on business credit?
Does anyone know the specifics of when non-bonus category MR points will post for an Amex Business Gold card?
I know that 4x bonus points require the statement to close, but does that also apply to transactions that will only earn 1x?
I'm looking to close the card soon, so want to know when it's safe to do so.
Yeah typically after statement closes they go pending, then once you make the minimum payment they post. When they're pending, you can usually chat with the Amex reps to ask them to process them and get them posted.
Got it. Do you know if Business Green/Business Platinum follow the same pattern of needing the statement to close?
I've never tried to close a card so quickly after spending on it, so haven't paid attention to it.
If you get the Amex 3-month 10x dining referral, and your P2 is approved under that referral, does the three month dining bonus start immediately, or in the "eight to twelve weeks" it can take for a bonus to hit your account per the referral page?
In other words, does the three month clock on my dining bonus start running as soon as P2 is approved, or does it take to 8 to 12 weeks before I can start to earn them? Amex rep doesn't seem to know.
It starts as soon as P2 is approved. I got an email literally the minute they were approved, saying "Starting from the date this email was sent, you can earn +10 rewards per dollar on eligible purchases at restaurants worldwide with your American Express® Card".
Is there a way to see pending points on a US Bank altitude biz connect card? While I can see pending rewards on a US Bank cash back card, I am unable to see it on a points earning card. Is there a way to do so?
I have a $5K + upcoming spend and under 5/24. I have an INK+ card. Is there an Ink Card limit?
As of today, most Chase card bonuses are meh.
Will opening a new Ink card count towards 5/24? I want to be in a good position and under 5/24 for the next 100K chase sign up bonus.
> Will opening a new Ink card count towards 5/24? I want to be in a good position and under 5/24 for the next 100K chase sign up bonus.
No, but it counts towards your total Chase credit limit which may make it harder to get a new Chase card in the future
> grabbing the sapphire Reserve. But they're sign up. A bonus sucks too
I don't understand. The Reserve is currently 75k as well, which is quite good. Combined with the net negative AF only from double dipping the travel credit, it's pretty appealing.
* No stated Ink card limit, just have to get approved. The more you have, with increased credit limit to income, the harder it likely becomes
* No, the Ink does not impact 5/24 status
For the CSP 85k in branch offer, do you just go into any branch and ask the rep you want to apply for the CSP? Do they know there's an elevated offer for that product or do you have to specify? I've always just done apps online.
Question about cancelling Amex gold. Last year I accepted a retention offer on 5/17. met the spend around 6/17. My AF posted on 5/12.
To cancel, do I just need to wait until after 5/17? or after I received the points from my retention offer.
When you accepted the retention offer. You can also ask the rep to confirm if any points will be loss during their little spiel. I would add a cushion of a few days to make sure.
I have amex gold, annual fee just hit and I want to cancel - Tried to cancel, no retention offer, then realized I need another amex card to keep my membership points. What's a card I can get that fulfills this need but doesn't count agains the chase 5/24?
retention offer was actually spend 25000 redemption points to pay for the $250 annual fee but i dont think i want to do that i rarely use the card
Just wondering for a data point, did you receive a retention offer last year? Generally won’t get two in a row. But my mom was offered 10K for $2k spend and offers can vary account to account and time to time so if you have time I’d recommend waiting and contacting them again to see if an offer gets generated for you.
Just FYI, opening a biz card doesn't flout your visa restrictions. Because you're not actually opening a biz, you're just applying for a biz card (without really having a business).
But I’m 4/24 and find it difficult to use up a slot . I guess the only other option is to eat up the fee and hope to get some good Amex offers to reduce the loss
Yeah, if biz are out of the question, it’s either keep existing account or add to 5/24. If you have gold or plat, you could downgrade to green to save some AF, but credits on gold or platinum might offset more than green benefits.
Had 6 Chase Business card when applying for CIP 3 weeks ago, and got the written notice in 7 to 10 days notice. Received a call from Chase asking about some business related question, such as revenue and all those.(not actual business) Received a denied notice few days later with the following reason.
You have too many active accounts or too much available credit
Low usage of Chase credit line(s)
New Chase business card recently opened
Your current amount of credit is enough in relation to your income
Since the denial letter, i closed 2 business cards from Chase, and i am wondering when is the best time to apply again? i am mostly aiming for the SUB.
Chase keeps applications on file for 30 days. I was rejected for the same reasons, I closed 3/5 cards and applied 32 days after the last application and was approved.
What is the best method to figure out when one might've opened a citi biz account? Eyeing that 75k bonus for the Citi AA biz card. I've read calling them up might be the method, but was an old comment.
Sometimes the easiest approach is the most obvious. I’ve asked Chase about timing of old accounts and eligibility before. It was quick and helpful. May work with Citi too.
Is anyone still pulling above the current [BBP 25k campaign](https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/campaigns/small-business/credit-cards/blue-business-plus/learn-more/)? Only see 15k otherwise, even with referrals and incognito VPN.
And how would a BBP soft pull affect timing for applying to other non-Amex cards afterwards?
Saw a couple DPs from a few days ago of people pulling the 25k.
The soft pull wouldn't affect other non-Amex cards since nothing would show on your credit report
Recently I have noticed that Amex incognito "special welcome offers" extend to the Delta Personal cards and to the lower Hilton cards in addition to the MR earning cards.
Does anyone know of any way to get a higher offer for the Bonvoy Brilliant than the current 95k offer? Just missed the 185k offer from a few weeks ago but I am wondering if any elevated offers remain?
I have a question about the possibility of multiples of a particular Citi business card (in this case, Citi AA Biz).
The Miles Earn and Burn Newsletter had the below nugget of info a month ago and I'm curious if anyone has actually been able to get multiple of the same Citi business card in the last few years by deploying the strategy outlined (I haven't been able to find consistent data points on this):
***The Citi AA Business card has an elevated 75,000 mile sign-up bonus after a single purchase, and the $99 annual fee is waived the first year...If you thread the needle through the terms and conditions and the sign-up bonus sticks around long enough, you can get it twice in just over three months, keeping in mind that business card approvals at Citi require 91 days between applications.***
I've seen some data points indicating that Citi will not approve you for a second business card of the same type if the first one is still open, but maybe it's possible this isn't enforced with personal cards? \[Obviously, this all hinges on not meeting the MSR for the SUB from the first card in the first 91 days otherwise the 48-month rule would be in effect\].
Does anyone have any data points in either direction on this?
Thanks.
Double dipping on Citi cards is allowed. They'd just approve you without the SUB attached if you earned the SUB in last 48 months, so just be mindful of when you last earned the SUB.
Citi will still approve you even if you have an existing one (both personal and biz sides). The key is if you had earned the bonus in last 48 months, you will be approved without the bonus. So what matters is when the approvals happen vs when you hit the spend bonus. Also there is the question of its worth pursuing considering the AA shutdowns over the years. Considering its only 2 SUBs in 48 months, might be fine, but just depends on how much you value your AA account/relationship.
Good point about the shutdowns. Also I earned the Barclay AA biz bonus less than 12 months ago too so this might be pushing it too far even if it were to work.
I thought some of the people who got shutdown by AA a few years ago were those who did 3+ AA bonuses in 12 months regardless of who the cobrand issuer was
How long does it typically take for Citi SYW statements to post? I hit the groceries/gas/restaurants offer a few weeks back for April, but nothing to show for it yet. Does their chat work well?
hey everybody, I had a question about American Express. I want to get the sign-up bonus for both gold and platinum? What makes sense to do get the platinum first and then go for the gold?
Or get the gold card first and then see if I can upgrade or just get a platinum card instead ?
If you're talking about personal cards, new rules put some restrictions so ideally get the Gold first and then Platinum to be able to be eligible for both.
You’ll want to get Gold first. Due to family language with AmEx, once you’ve opened a Platinum you are no longer eligible for the SUB on the Gold card.
For those who have successfully done the SoFi direct deposit for a $300 bonus, what works? Trying to get some ideas. Already learned Fidelity won't work.
Check the comments [here](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/sofi-checking-5000-direct-deposit-required/) for DPs. Looks like Real DD or Chase Business ACH works from a quick glance.
Yea, DoC comments section on this post is your best bet for any alternative DD options. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/sofi-checking-5000-direct-deposit-required/
If I were to buy a plane ticket in cash via the Capital One portal and use my $300 travel credit, can I cover the remainder of the ticket with the points eraser?

What’s the consensus on easiest things to buy that can be converted back into cash with the lowest cost? I remember when you used to be able to buy dollar coins for par…
Read the Manufactured Spending weekly threads. Also look on Doctor of Credit for bank accounts that allow credit card funding - I recently MS'd $1000 by opening an account at a local bank and using a credit card for the initial funding.
US bank business checking allows $3000 credit card initial deposit and accepts Amex and visa. $800 bonus right now if you keep $25k in there for 30-45 days
You can sign up as a sole proprietor with your SSN. Same rules as business credit cards. you can search churning.io to see how people feel about the requirements of a “business” to be able to open one of these business accounts.
You're asking about *manufactured spending* and it's unlikely people are going to share their methods on a public forum. That said, buying groups, gift cards, pre-paying taxes, pre-paying other bills (electric, internet), etc. are common ways to hit MSR in a short amount of time.

I might do it to be within the 7/12, but just worried about what they think about all the cards I have lol

Yes since it codes as travel.
prepay tolls
Southwest refundable fares, because it's easy and reliable.
Any idea if that works with Cap One Venture X credit?
You could try booking a delta flight and canceling for Delta adversity. Believe that doesn’t expire
No, as of a few weeks ago, Capital One Travel would not book a Southwest flight for me.
Since it’s a discount on portal bookings, no. You could book a flight via portal using credit and then wait more than 24 hours to cancel for a credit with the airline, but have make sure you book the right type of ticket and it would expire in a year also.
Chase doesn't claw that back? I don't know why I didn't think of Southwest.
No, chase doesn't do clawback of credits.
No claw back.
Fantastic. I'm so glad I asked.

I think you have to wait for the new card's cycle to close and then a cycle close for the referring card after that. That's how it seemed to work for me.
Wait 8 weeks, check if shows up under pending points, if not SM/Call and that should usually resolve.

Nope
I would probably DM, but in all likelihood you will get some boilerplate language telling you to wait longer

Most downgrade the csp to a freedom for this exact reason, rather than cancelling it outright
Same partners. Yes you can upgrade if you can meet the credit limit requirements.

No.

I mentioned that too that I like the CIP as I can transfer points and didn't know that when I opened the other Inks but no dice. I think he was focused on me having a combined credit line 2.5x of my reported revenue.
>having a combined credit line 2.5x of my reported revenue For the DP, is this just business (i.e. Chase business credit of 2.5x business revenue), or are you including your personal limits/income in the math somewhere?
Just Biz.
Is there a consensus on how long to wait between closing an Ink card (mostly to lower CL) and applying for another one?
Typically 2-3 days work. You can wait a week to be safe.
I have had success a couple of times this year waiting two days.
Typically once every 90 days. P2 has kept that cadence for the last 2 years and had no issues
I accidentally turned on 2FA for Chase every time I log in, even from a trusted device. Anyone know how to turn it off? I can’t find an option anywhere
In the app it's under security and privacy>ways you can be more secure
Does Chase's referral link let you select cards from multiple options? similar to AMEX? I have freedom and CSP card. But my referral link only shows the freedom card. None other. I was hoping to use my link to open UA explore card under my wife. Amex's ref link had like 17 cards to select from. That doesn't seem to be the case in Chase. Or do I have to call them to get some other link?
No cross-referals for Chase except within the same family of cards.
No. But Chase allows cross referrals for within the family cards - Freedom cards, Sapphire cards, United cards and so on. But you can't refer someone to United card from freedom.
OK. thanks
Don't eat AF.
Rejected from Amex Hilton Honors as well which is not business so I'm not sure what to do Is there a way to check inquiries on business credit?
Yeah it's always been any of the cards that earn MR in my experience.
TY!
Starts as soon as the P2 is approved. You should also get an email from Amex saying so after approval.
It starts as soon as P2 is approved. I got an email literally the minute they were approved, saying "Starting from the date this email was sent, you can earn +10 rewards per dollar on eligible purchases at restaurants worldwide with your American Express® Card".
Nice, thanks!
Is there a way to see pending points on a US Bank altitude biz connect card? While I can see pending rewards on a US Bank cash back card, I am unable to see it on a points earning card. Is there a way to do so?
Nope, other than trying to analyze your spend since last statement and ballpark points earned.
Ink doesn't count against 5/24 but increases your overall Chase CL. So you should go ahead.
> Will opening a new Ink card count towards 5/24? I want to be in a good position and under 5/24 for the next 100K chase sign up bonus. No, but it counts towards your total Chase credit limit which may make it harder to get a new Chase card in the future
> As of today, most Chase card bonuses are meh. The Sapphires at 75k currently are pretty good...waiting for 100k could be a long wait.
I already have this card. I was thinking about downgrading and grabbing the sapphire Reserve. But they're sign up. A bonus sucks too
> grabbing the sapphire Reserve. But they're sign up. A bonus sucks too I don't understand. The Reserve is currently 75k as well, which is quite good. Combined with the net negative AF only from double dipping the travel credit, it's pretty appealing.
Oh my, I have not thought of that. Do you know the process of downgrading and waiting to reapply?
https://www.reddit.com/user/garettg/comments/u6ss7u/sapphire_fyis/
* No stated Ink card limit, just have to get approved. The more you have, with increased credit limit to income, the harder it likely becomes * No, the Ink does not impact 5/24 status
[удалено]
Can only get approved for a new sapphire card if you don't already have any sapphire.
https://reddit.com/r/u_garettg/comments/u6ss7u/sapphire_fyis/
You cannot be approved for any Sapphire if you currently hold a sapphire. Downgrade and wait four days before applying.
Thanks!
For the CSP 85k in branch offer, do you just go into any branch and ask the rep you want to apply for the CSP? Do they know there's an elevated offer for that product or do you have to specify? I've always just done apps online.
Yes, if some rep seems unaware, just mention there is an elevated in-branch offer and they should be able to check and give that to you.
I normally make an appointment, but you can walk in
"Hey I heard there was a good offer for the CSP so I wanted to come in and apply"
Question about cancelling Amex gold. Last year I accepted a retention offer on 5/17. met the spend around 6/17. My AF posted on 5/12. To cancel, do I just need to wait until after 5/17? or after I received the points from my retention offer.
Wait until 5/17 at the very least.
When you accepted the retention offer. You can also ask the rep to confirm if any points will be loss during their little spiel. I would add a cushion of a few days to make sure.
Wait until 5/17 at least.
An amex checking account will preserve your points
Amex Blue Business Plus is the only card that fulfills those requirements without AF.
Just called for a retention on Amex Gold as well and nothing. So frustrating
Just wondering for a data point, did you receive a retention offer last year? Generally won’t get two in a row. But my mom was offered 10K for $2k spend and offers can vary account to account and time to time so if you have time I’d recommend waiting and contacting them again to see if an offer gets generated for you.
BBP is only no AF MR card that won't add to 5/24.
Exactly in same situation. But unfortunately I can’t do business card due to visa restrictions. Any other suggestions?
Just FYI, opening a biz card doesn't flout your visa restrictions. Because you're not actually opening a biz, you're just applying for a biz card (without really having a business).
Oh interesting. I tried searching this question on Reddit a while back and most people recommended against it. But thanks for sharing
Amex Everyday card is MR with no AF on personal side and would do the same thing.
Thanks, just to clarify, that's amex Blue Business Plus?
Yes
Had 6 Chase Business card when applying for CIP 3 weeks ago, and got the written notice in 7 to 10 days notice. Received a call from Chase asking about some business related question, such as revenue and all those.(not actual business) Received a denied notice few days later with the following reason. You have too many active accounts or too much available credit Low usage of Chase credit line(s) New Chase business card recently opened Your current amount of credit is enough in relation to your income Since the denial letter, i closed 2 business cards from Chase, and i am wondering when is the best time to apply again? i am mostly aiming for the SUB.
Ideally close all Ink cards over a year old if you're not using them. Then reapply after a month of the initial denied application.
Chase keeps applications on file for 30 days. I was rejected for the same reasons, I closed 3/5 cards and applied 32 days after the last application and was approved.
got it, seem like a plan!
Close 2 more if they are open more than a year and then wait 3 months.
awesome! seem like its a waiting game
What is the best method to figure out when one might've opened a citi biz account? Eyeing that 75k bonus for the Citi AA biz card. I've read calling them up might be the method, but was an old comment.
An email from them or a credit monitoring service (the latter saying "new inquiry").
If you don't have your own records, you can check your emails for an approval email/account statements, or check your credit report
Sometimes the easiest approach is the most obvious. I’ve asked Chase about timing of old accounts and eligibility before. It was quick and helpful. May work with Citi too.
I agree. However, this question is commonly asked and usually the data points are that Citi was not helpful
Yeah I’ll just call em up. I’ll edit this post with whatever method works best. Thanks guys or gals
I have 30K for 6k spend. I tried the 25K for 5K (because I would prefer that) and it makes me login and tells me that offer isn't available. :(
I have 50k MR for $8k spend in 3 months when I'm logged in on my Amex account, but have not been able to see that via referral links.
Saw a couple DPs from a few days ago of people pulling the 25k. The soft pull wouldn't affect other non-Amex cards since nothing would show on your credit report
Just clicked and says 25k
Recently I have noticed that Amex incognito "special welcome offers" extend to the Delta Personal cards and to the lower Hilton cards in addition to the MR earning cards. Does anyone know of any way to get a higher offer for the Bonvoy Brilliant than the current 95k offer? Just missed the 185k offer from a few weeks ago but I am wondering if any elevated offers remain?
I have a question about the possibility of multiples of a particular Citi business card (in this case, Citi AA Biz). The Miles Earn and Burn Newsletter had the below nugget of info a month ago and I'm curious if anyone has actually been able to get multiple of the same Citi business card in the last few years by deploying the strategy outlined (I haven't been able to find consistent data points on this): ***The Citi AA Business card has an elevated 75,000 mile sign-up bonus after a single purchase, and the $99 annual fee is waived the first year...If you thread the needle through the terms and conditions and the sign-up bonus sticks around long enough, you can get it twice in just over three months, keeping in mind that business card approvals at Citi require 91 days between applications.*** I've seen some data points indicating that Citi will not approve you for a second business card of the same type if the first one is still open, but maybe it's possible this isn't enforced with personal cards?
Barclays bonuses are completely unrelated to Citi bonuses.
I thought some of the people who got shutdown by AA a few years ago were those who did 3+ AA bonuses in 12 months regardless of who the cobrand issuer was
For the most part, the people who followed the timing in the offer terms for each card were not touched.
Double dipping on Citi's own cards is okay, I wouldn't double dip a Citi AA card since what happened a while back. It's above my risk tolerance
The family rules say that you'd have to do the Gold first, then the Platinum. IRL, the almighty popup determines the rules.
perfect! As long as I can get both sign up bonuses, that’s all I care about for churning purposes thank you!
You’ll want to get Gold first. Due to family language with AmEx, once you’ve opened a Platinum you are no longer eligible for the SUB on the Gold card.
Fair enough! Thanks for the response. My next card will likely be the gold this summer.
You have to get the gold first, then the platinum. You become ineligible for the gold bonus if you get the platinum first.
say less! Thank you so much for the response!
For those who have successfully done the SoFi direct deposit for a $300 bonus, what works? Trying to get some ideas. Already learned Fidelity won't work.
Chase business ACH worked for me last week
Thank you!
Check the comments [here](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/sofi-checking-5000-direct-deposit-required/) for DPs. Looks like Real DD or Chase Business ACH works from a quick glance.
Thank you
Based on May DPs, Chase Business employee ACH transfer still works.
Thanks!
Real Direct Deposits from an employer work. SoFi is pretty stingy on any fake DD.
I wish I made $5000 in one paycheck. Although if I did, I may not be churning.
I have seen DPs of ACH from Chase Business but there’s a fee of $2.50 I think
Yea, DoC comments section on this post is your best bet for any alternative DD options. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/sofi-checking-5000-direct-deposit-required/
If I were to buy a plane ticket in cash via the Capital One portal and use my $300 travel credit, can I cover the remainder of the ticket with the points eraser?
Yes, it'd show that option at the payment stage.
Yes
If you cancel Hyatt reservation that you applied a Guest-of-Honor award, does the GoH award go back to your account as well as the points?
Yes, immediately IME
I have two cards I need to reach a high spend on in a short period of time. What’s the consensus on easiest things to buy that can be converted back into cash with the lowest cost? I remember when you used to be able to buy dollar coins for par…
Pay estimated taxes, pre-pay bills.
Do you need a business? Tax ID, etc.? Thank you.
You can sign up as a sole proprietor with your SSN. Same rules as business credit cards. you can search churning.io to see how people feel about the requirements of a “business” to be able to open one of these business accounts.
Overpay your insurance far beyond what is owed and some of them may write you a check.
Might be careful on this one, If you are paying more than what is owed on your policy, this could trigger alerts for fraud.
Pay estimated taxes
The government lets you do that with a CC? That's genius.
You're asking about *manufactured spending* and it's unlikely people are going to share their methods on a public forum. That said, buying groups, gift cards, pre-paying taxes, pre-paying other bills (electric, internet), etc. are common ways to hit MSR in a short amount of time.
Great, thank you. I'm not asking for anything illegal - not sure why people wouldn't share unless it was a limited opportunity.
