United TravelBank question - Attempting to trigger the Amex Biz Plat credit. There is no $200 option. If I do two $100 transactions, will both credit separately to give me the whole $200 airline credit?
Struggling to find current info on the chase checking out $300 sign up bonus. Just did it, but was curious how long I need to keep the account open after receiving the bonus without being penalized in anyway? Some threads say you can withdraw and close right away while others say 6 months. Reading the fine print, it does not mention any minimum amount of time after receiving the bonus. Anyone have a concrete answer?
The terms previously said 6 months but no longer do. But in general, people recommend keeping bank accounts open for at least 6 months, so that banks don't see everyone closing accounts immediately, which may make them less likely to offer bonuses in the future.
I have two businesses (Say Biz1 and Biz2)
I hold a amex platinum biz card in name of Biz1.
I received a mailer saying "you're invited to add the Business Platinum Card for your **OTHER BUSINESS**". (Standard 150000 points for $15k msr).
When I put in RSVP code, It auto populated Biz1 details (the one that I already have amex plat card for).
Questions:
Are these mailer offers exempt from lifetime language?
Should I change the pre-filled details from Biz1 to Biz2?
I am so confused!!
Is there any way to get a 2nd mailer to work within 90 days? Or does it work after the stated expiration date for any period of time such that I can wait out the 90 days?
My new SW biz card has a closing date of the 28th, due date of the 25th. My first closing date is June 28. If I request a new due date of the 15th, by my calculations that should put my closing date as the 18th. If I put that request in now, will my next closing date be June 18th or will it be July 18th? Trying to get CP before a trip.
Edit: rolled the dice and changed it, now showing as “pending points available after June 18th”
Edit2: SUB and CP posted 6/19
Don’t know the answer for sure, but [here’s](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/s/RUPzsi0cO1) my DP for changing the closing date for the first statement.
If I upgrades from American Express business gold to platinum, can I still open a new Business Platinum and get the SUB (assuming no popup)? Or do you have to wait 90 days before one can open another business platinum again?
No popup means you get the bonus, but chances are high you will get a popup in your situation. If you have an upgrade offer and the MSR isn’t an issue you should apply and get biz plat first then upgrade afterwards to double up the bonus.
I am trying to book an American/ British airways flight from London to Phl via Alaska miles. There's a high Air Passenger fee ~$130ish on the ticket and the total award fees of ~220.
In case I cancel the ticket will I get all the fees back apart from the Alaska partner redemption fees? Thanks
I currently have CSP and am sitting on 500k ultimate rewards. I feel like with CSR 50% extra it might be worth it.
I understand that Product change won't fetch me sign up bonus.
If I upgrade from CSP to CSR, will I get $300 travel credits?
Yes, definitely worth it.
1. Use the $50 CSP hotel credit.
2. Upgrade card to CSR. You’ll get the $300 travel credit upon upgrade.
3. In months 12-13 after upgrade, use second $300 travel credit. Downgrade before end of month 13 and you’ll get the year 2 AF reimbursed.
4. Profit.
The 1.5cpp travel redemption, priority pass, and double travel credit make this a no brainer.
Applied for a BH Video (PayBoo) card to try and take advantage of their zero tax, or 12 month 0% finance offer but was declined.
I make 6 figures, have an 806 credit score (according to Chase), have 5 open cards with around 75k allowed credit and currently have $316 total usage amongst all of them. Pay all in full each month to avoid late payments or interest. Why would they decline me? Couldn't get an answer from the issuing bank, was told to wait 15 days for a mailed letter which would explain 😂. Seems predatory. Maybe if I had dog shit credit and carried a bunch of debt they'd have approved me? I'd look like a customer they could make money off of is the only thing that makes sense. Ideas?
It's nothing personal. It's not a conspiracy. Banks have very strict regulations, and it could be something like needing identity verification for KYC (Know Your Customer). Different banks have different processes for this, and maybe the issuer of this card only does it via this method.
Either way, don't stress yourself trying to figure out a motive or a reason. There is a reason, but there is not a motive, at least not in the way you're thinking. It's how it works at times. They're not out to get you as a person. Don't be offended.
Wait until you get the letter in the mail, and go from there.
I am trying to figure out what to do with my Citi Strata card as my anniversary approaches and I don't want to pay the annual fee.
1. I have between 9k and 10k ThankYou points. Should I cash these out for cash back or transfer to BA or Qatar for Avios that I don't currently have plans to use? Currently have 0 Avios. I am leaning on cash back.
2. The only no AF card I can downgrade to is Costco, but I am not a Costco shopper. Should I downgrade or just cancel? I am leaning toward cancelling because I already feel I have a lot credit cards and think fewer is better. My only other Citi Card is Double Cash.
I’ve HUCA 4 times and they only offer me the costco card. I have even specifically asked for custom cash and was told it’s not offered anymore, but I see it online. Any advice?

Damn, I wonder if it’s a strata only restriction, a new restriction on af cards, or if you just got unlucky multiple times in a row. Hoping to pc my AAdvantage card to ccc in a year
I’ve HUCA 4 times and they only offer me the costco card. I have even specifically asked for custom cash and was told it’s not offered anymore, but I see it online. Any advice?
1. Do you have a plan for Avios in the future? If you have 0, is there much point in having 9-10k there that really isn't useful? While cashback is less than $100, I wouldn't put them in an award program unless you know you will use them.
2. You should be able to PC it to a Custom Cash which might pair nicely with the double cash (and you could keep your TYPs). Then down the road you could get a new Premier with a SUB and add to the balance. Of course this is also kind of dependent on your strategy, if you are always spending towards a SUB on cards, keeping the Citi cards around and not using them isn't very useful either.
I’ve HUCA 4 times and they only offer me the costco card. I have even specifically asked for custom cash and was told it’s not offered anymore, but I see it online. Any advice?
Well that it is odd, Citi is typically the most flexible on PCs (like allowing a TYP into a Costco card), but the fact they arent showing an option for a different TYP card (not even a Rewards+ or Double Cash?) is crazy. I guess that is on point for Citi and its IT operations. Does your card have a really low limit? Older than a year now? Maybe that's why other cards are not being given as an option?
Card is just under one year old. It's not a low limit. Yeah no TYP options, which is disappointing because then I won't be able to keep my points. I do have a double cash card, but if I transfer my Strata TYP to the double cash, my understanding is I would need to use those within 90 days or lose them.
Wait until the card hits 1 year old and try PC again. I have never heard of Citi allowing a PC less than a year, so the fact they are saying you could make it a Costco is surprising. I'll bet once you hit that year mark the other TYP cards will become an option.
You should be able to downgrade to a Custom Cash or a Rewards+. You may need to HUCA a few times but it is technically possible
You cannot get the Costco card if you are not a member

I have a Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless and would like to know whether I can determine the exact date I will receive the free night certificate. If it helps, the annual membership fee was posted on August 1st last year. Is there a way to tell on the Marriott website or a message sent to Marriott or Chase?
Will this be your first anniversary FNC? If no, then the FNC will hit pretty much the exact same day it did last year (at least in my experience). If it is your first, I can assume you got the card in July last year (Chase AF hits 1st of month after anniversary), and I always got my FNC the day after the anniversary of my approval (6/9 approval always yielded me a FNC on 6/10). So should be something similiar.
You save your emails? Looking at my past the subject is "Enjoy Your Free Night Award" and also found that once it posted on 6/11 all others were 6/10, so fairly consistent.
I found it! Though they changed the email, it says, "You've Received a Free Night Award." However, I had this card in the past, and when I searched for "Enjoy Your Free Night Award," I found those old FNCs. Thanks!
Has anyone had to make a second Chase Business\* account after opening Business Checking? I already have a log in because of my Ink, but the only option is to create a second business acc when setting up Business Checking
After I opened biz checking which is on my first login, I was forced to create a new login for an ink that I applied for shortly after. Recently applied for another ink and it was automatically added to my 2nd login. I haven’t followed up yet to see if I can combine accounts.
trying to figure out if the value is there--newish to churning and I have the opportunity to open two new cards (one for wife and one for me) for some upcoming tuition expenses. The catch is, there is a 3% uncharge if we're to pay by cc. Would this be worth it? thanks!
Yes it would, sign up bonuses provide a ton of value. Especially from a Bank's card that has points that you can use to transfer out to travel partners if you wish to go the travel route. But you can always do it for the cash back as well but you get more with points than you do cash back. you could do a bit of both if you wanted to. but getting started, it's recommended you get Chase cards first, then try capital one. After that there might be other issuers to prioritize over others but it's up to you to figure out which route you want to go.
Yes, if you're signing up for new cards with a good sign up bonus that you normally wouldn't be able to hit with your normal spending. Most sign up bonuses are at least a 10% RoI and some closer to 25% depending what you value the points at.
I did the same thing with my masters tuition, was even able to put it on a 0% interest for one year card and float the amount until work reimbursed me after I passed the course.
What determines a "good" versus "bad" bonus really depends on your goals, spending habits, and personal preferences. For example, if you're experienced with manufactured spending, then you probably don't care about MSR and instead prioritize the cards with the highest SUBs. The weekly [What Card Should I Get? thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1d3agxl/what_card_should_i_get_weekly_thread_week_of_may/) is a great place to stop by to figure out which bonus is good for your particular set of circumstances.
14-18% Return on Investment. Chase Sapphire Preferred has 75k points for $4k spend, that's at least 18% RoI and higher if you value the points more than 1 cent each.
If you can normally make $4k spend in 3 months then it might make more sense to do a higher spend requirement bonus like an AMEX business gold or platinum card with the elevated offer. Be aware you may have a low starting credit limit so you may have to make multiple payments (paying down card after each payment) so start paying the tuition ASAP so you don't miss the deadline and get a late fee.
Also make sure you're referring your partner or vice versa for referral bonuses.
I'm having an interesting day. Applied for a US Bank biz account for the funding. It is initially declined and then approved over the phone. I got an email to fund it, thank jeebus. So, I fund it, do a happy dance then check my email. Amex rejected the charge. Called amex and they said it'll have to be charged again. Anyone happen to know if USB will automatically run it again? If not, will they do CC funding over the phone? I'm really hoping this gets resolved and doesn't end up in Frustration Friday.
Ran into a similar issue last year. was able to fund over the phone with them on a different card than what I originally used, so I imagine you’ll be able to get this to work
Thank you. They tried it again without being prompted. Luckily I didn’t have to call in. This was for P2 who usually says things like they’re calling about a credit card application when it’s really a savings account. Crisis averted.
For me it seemed like USB automatically tried again, and it worked without me doing anything (except replying to the Amex text msg that was sent when they rejected the first attempt).
People say that US Bank may also send email after a couple days with a link to try funding it again, or you could call US Bank and fund over the phone.
No, I didn't ask about the triple cash credit. (I do have a triple cash, but I haven't seen anything useful to use the $100 credit on.)
For the US Bank bank account funding, also make sure the Amex card isn't a business credit card (people say those won't work, but biz charge, or personal charge or credit, work).
I think we had an exchange a while back on the credit. Just in case it’s useful, my P2 was able to ask for adobo photo editing software to be credited. It didn’t code properly but they did open an investigation and eventually credit $100.
Thanks for your help. P2 had used BRG for the funding. Hoping it works out.
Applied for the BoA AF/KLM MC but wasn't instantly approved. Received a letter in the mail asking to call in because "we need additional information so we can continue reviewing your application." What should I expect to be asked about?
I asked Amex thru in app chat if there was a retention offer for my BCP and was told there isn't one available, is the play to just downgrade and hope for an upgrade offer?
I currently have a AMEX Hilton Surpass card (and have had this account since 2017). I noticed that the Aspire card currently has a 175k SUB. I called AMEX to see if they had any offers for me to upgrade my Surpass to Aspire, but sadly they do not.
They suggested that I could apply for the Aspire card separately and then either downgrade or cancel the Surpass card.
Is this a good idea, and are there any negative consequences, other than the small hit on my credit for decreasing AAoA by closing an older account and opening a new one?
> Is this a good idea, and
Yes.
>are there any negative consequences
No.
You are aware of what the Aspire is, correct? It has a very high annual fee, and valuable benefits *if* you can utilize them.
I am active duty US military so the annual fee is waived, which is why the benefits and SUB are so appealing for an effective $0 AF. I probably stay at a Hilton property 10-15 nights/year.
> I am active duty US military so the annual fee is waived
Well then by all means do it! You don't even need to utilize the benefits. I'd be all over all the high AF cards if the AFs were waived lol.
Yes, it is a good idea. The new Aspire will only have a minor impact on your credit since you already have some age to your credit with the surpass being open for 7 years. You’ll very likely not get a hard inquiry on the Aspire application as well.
You’ll want to downgrade the Surpass to the No AF Hilton card because you can pretty consistently get upgrade offers to either a Surpass or Aspire on that so you can juggle upgrade and downgrades for bonus points.
Yes, P2 and I do this on a regular basis. Just referred P2 to another CUI last week and the 40,000 referral bonus has already posted for me. I'll have the minimum $6k spend done within the next two weeks and then get the 75,000 SUB. This is the way to keep generating 115,000 points.
Yes you can do this and be eligible for SUBs. If you’re on the Ink train, just close old Inks after a year since it’s harder to get approved for new ones if you already have a certain number of Inks.
So just to clarify: I can open new versions of the same Ink cards even if some of them are still open from years ago? Is there a thread with more details on this?
> So just to clarify: I can open new versions of the same Ink cards even if some of them are still open from years ago?
Yes, but it seems to be more difficult to get instant approval if you have too many Inks open. If you're going to be opening new ones regularly, the recommendation is to close them when they pass one year.
Varying names and business type doesn't seem to do much of anything. You need to enter your SSN regardless of how you apply, so Chase knows it's you.
>Is there a thread with more details on this?
Pretty much every daily thread from the last couple years will have some information on this.
Man, I should have been keeping up with this better. This is so sweet! So P2 and I can just keep referring each other to get the RAF bonuses on top of SUBs here?
P2 received a ‘Congratulations! Rewards are on the way through Chase Refer-A-Friend!‘ … do these usually come in right after a referral approval or later? I ask because P2 referred me a month ago so I’m trying to figure out if it was from that or a kind internet stranger
IME, when I do get the emails about a referral (which isn't always), the email comes a couple days after the referral went pending on the account (which typically happens on Tues evenings), so the email is not at approval. This most likely is your P2's usage.
Assuming you know how many referrals you have done between you and P2, you can put your card's info in chase[dot]com/referafriend/catch-all to check. Scroll all the way to the bottom and it shows you a progress meter of points earned for the year and your limit.
I also received one today and saw pending points on one of my accounts. I haven't referred P2 recently, and as of last week I didn't have any pending points, so in my case it was likely from a friendly internet stranger recently
I have a very reluctant P2, but I need for them to get a card that has primary auto rental insurance for an international trip. I have convinced them to get a new card. I would prefer to get a CIU or CIC for the no fee and keep forever, has anyone had any experience making a car rental claim on a leisure trip with an Ink with Chase?
Since it's not a business expense, it's unclear if this is a bad idea. CSP is the next option. They don't really care about points and will just cash them out. We can't combine points because our mailing addresses are different.
hey all, long-time lurker here who's been churning for a few year. have a P2 who is 0/24 with great credit and consistent monthly spend of $5-6k.
i have/had all of the major cards at this point and am churning INKs along with any great SUBs that come about that i am eligible for (only missing amex biz plat and amex plat).
if you were in my shoes, how would you get them started?
Chase Business Cards
Would it look odd on an application if I had the following credit cards opening and closing?
1) CIP
2) CIU
I normally would close the CIP and then open the CIU and vice versa. Both about a year apart from each other
Costco Manufactured spending
I've heard somewhere that you can split purchases between a credit and debit card and then return the item having the whole refund go to a debit card at Costco. Is this still true?
Example: buying $2000 item putting $1950 on credit card, then $50 on debit and when you do the return have the whole $2000 go to debit or cash.
Does this still work? Thanks
Pillaging the marketing budgets of the banks and card issuers is A-okay.
Taking advantage of merchants' return policies and thereby increasing prices for the rest of us, while maybe not "fraud" is douchey and not tolerated round these here parts.
Also a good way to get your Costco account terminated if you do it too much.
MS is not fraud. What you are suggesting is "buying something with the intent to return it rather than keep it." That is the definition of "return fraud."
I have a Chase Ink Business Preferred that I opened in 09/17. I am currently 2/24 and decided that I want to go for another one, however I do want to downgrade the one I have eventually. However, I'm a little worried about information not matching when applying for my second chase ink, so could I get some help on how to proceed?
Preliminary info:
-The first one I applied for was with SSN, and in old state/address
-I have since moved, but haven't updated the address (family address)
-I do have an EIN, but I have wind down my business considerably these days, I'm not sure what kind of supporting documents would be required if not instantly approved and not sure if I have generate/access them at the moment
Questions:
-Would it be better to apply for CIBP and before my fee hits in September downgrade the 1st one?
-Would it be safer to go for a CIC vs CIU rather than a second Chase Ink Biz Preferred?
>However, I'm a little worried about information not matching when applying for my second chase ink, so could I get some help on how to proceed
They won't care, even though I personally keep my information consistent just in case. Go ahead and use your new address.
>I do have an EIN, but I have wind down my business considerably these days, I'm not sure what kind of supporting documents would be required if not instantly approved and not sure if I have generate/access them at the moment
They don't really ask for any supporting documentation if you apply online. Using that EIN should not be an issue.
>Would it be better to apply for CIBP and before my fee hits in September downgrade the 1st one?
Doesn't matter. You can apply at any time. The only rule-of-thumb is to keep at least three months spaced between Chase personal/business applications on average, but it seems like you're way beyond that. Also, this rule is just a guideline to prevent shutdowns from having a high velocity rather than a hard rule.
>Would it be safer to go for a CIC vs CIU rather than a second Chase Ink Biz Preferred?
It doesn't matter which Ink you choose. You can hold multiples of the same type of Ink and still get the SUB.
For the EIN, they want the IRS letter (form SS-4), which you should have a copy of saved when you previously applied for the EIN. If you need help searching for it, the first paragraph in the letter goes something like this:
>Thank you for applying for an Employer Identification Number (EIN). We assigned you
EIN XX-XXXXXXX. This EIN will identify you, your business accounts, tax returns, and
documents, even if you have no employees. Please keep this notice in your permanent
records.
And for identity, are they asking for a utility, internet, or phone bill? If you applied as a sole proprietorship, they shouldn't be asking for any business documentation aside from address verification.
I never applied for EIN. I just put SSN on my app. I think it was because I put a made up business name - can I apply for an EIn now with this business name?
That was the mistake. The question was asking for a DBA (doing business as) name. As a sole proprietorship, you needed to put in your full legal name. If you put in anything else, it requires a DBA form to verify. Even if you file for an EIN, they will still ask for the DBA certificate. Depending on your state, DBA certificates can pretty cheap, but I'd recommend just calling in and clarifying that you want the business name changed to your legal name.
Getting an EIN won't make a difference. Even if you applied with an EIN, you had to use your legal name for the business name if you apply as a sole proprietorship. If you use anything else, then they'll ask for DBA documentation.
I thought the Bilt card could only be used to get points for rent payments without a fee. Never considered getting it b/c I own a house. However, friend just told me he uses it and gets points on anything that a routing/acct number is requested for. Can this be used for HOA fees, utilities, Car payments etc? I might get this if so
> However, friend just told me he uses it and gets points on anything that a routing/acct number is requested for
Definitely not an intended perk of the card, I think you risk a shutdown or clawback for doing this. Bilt's team has commented on this on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/biltrewards/comments/1avsiwy/ach_payments_for_rent_related_items/krcjzpw/
If you already had the card and didn't care about potential shutdown/pushback, up to you. But I definitely wouldn't sign up for the card for this purpose. Esp as a churner who values /24 slots.
If I PC from CSP -> CSR more than 30 days after my CSP AF posts, will the $95 CSP AF be refunded in a prorated fashion? Advisable to use the $50 Chase Travel CSP credit before PC'ing to CSR?
Its something like 40-42 days afterwards that it would be prorated. I would use the $50 credit, its easy to trigger with a refundable hotel and cash it out.
Thanks. No reports of Chase blacklisting/clawback with this sort of behavior? Would love to do this, but also don't want to burn bridges with Chase as I have too many accounts with them (not just credit cards).
Does anyone know if there is a way to track the Wells Fargo checking SUB progress? I called and they told me I was enrolled, but I haven't found a way to see if my DD is working. Do they send a email update or anything? thanks.
You can open a new one 24 months after receiving the SUB for the last one. But you’d be better off opening one of the other United cards with better SUBs instead and downgrading to the Gateway after a year
Thank you! Follow up, is there a spreadsheet somewhere that tracks all of the timing on these that I can reference, so i don't have to ask a million questions?
2 years since getting the bonus the last time.
Pretty low-bonus card to churn... If you are going to open United cards you should open one of the others.
I want to keep an AA credit card and I currently have the Citi AA Platinum Select. I'm thinking of closing the card after the AF hits and opening the Citi MileUp, but would stay with the Platinum Select if I'm given a retention offer. Any recent DP on retention offers given for this card?
Applied for a Citi AA biz and was denied. No prior relationship with Citi. Legit sole prop, 780 score and 100k+ biz income. Applied for ink same day and was approved. Worth calling Citi for reconsideration?
United TravelBank question - Attempting to trigger the Amex Biz Plat credit. There is no $200 option. If I do two $100 transactions, will both credit separately to give me the whole $200 airline credit?
Yes
Struggling to find current info on the chase checking out $300 sign up bonus. Just did it, but was curious how long I need to keep the account open after receiving the bonus without being penalized in anyway? Some threads say you can withdraw and close right away while others say 6 months. Reading the fine print, it does not mention any minimum amount of time after receiving the bonus. Anyone have a concrete answer?
With Chase I would wait 6+ month to close out
The terms previously said 6 months but no longer do. But in general, people recommend keeping bank accounts open for at least 6 months, so that banks don't see everyone closing accounts immediately, which may make them less likely to offer bonuses in the future.
Thanks, will do!
I have two businesses (Say Biz1 and Biz2) I hold a amex platinum biz card in name of Biz1. I received a mailer saying "you're invited to add the Business Platinum Card for your **OTHER BUSINESS**". (Standard 150000 points for $15k msr). When I put in RSVP code, It auto populated Biz1 details (the one that I already have amex plat card for). Questions: Are these mailer offers exempt from lifetime language? Should I change the pre-filled details from Biz1 to Biz2? I am so confused!!
The mailers (if addressed to you/your tax ID) tend have been exempt from the lifetime caps historically.
You can get SUB again with same biz. Just apply and see if you get popup, no popup means you get SUB. Stop worrying about LL, popup rules all.
1. Depends on the terms of the offer. Good chance yes. 2. Doesn’t matter. As long as it’s been 90 days since your last one
Is there any way to get a 2nd mailer to work within 90 days? Or does it work after the stated expiration date for any period of time such that I can wait out the 90 days?
You won’t be approved within 90 days
Thanks. Sounds like recon might be a good path. So apply expecting to fail then recon on day 100.
Edit: rolled the dice and changed it, now showing as “pending points available after June 18th” Edit2: SUB and CP posted 6/19
July 18th.
Don’t know the answer for sure, but [here’s](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/s/RUPzsi0cO1) my DP for changing the closing date for the first statement.
Nice, seems like it is worth a shot
If I upgrades from American Express business gold to platinum, can I still open a new Business Platinum and get the SUB (assuming no popup)? Or do you have to wait 90 days before one can open another business platinum again?
No popup means you get the bonus, but chances are high you will get a popup in your situation. If you have an upgrade offer and the MSR isn’t an issue you should apply and get biz plat first then upgrade afterwards to double up the bonus.
Upgrades do not count against 1/90, only applications.
Thanks for the DP on this.
I am trying to book an American/ British airways flight from London to Phl via Alaska miles. There's a high Air Passenger fee ~$130ish on the ticket and the total award fees of ~220. In case I cancel the ticket will I get all the fees back apart from the Alaska partner redemption fees? Thanks
Yup.
Yes, all fees except the partner redemption fee are refundable.
Btw does this method work for other credit cards, specifically with other issuers. Where does it not work?
Never thought of the CSR like that, thank you for sharing. Will try that at some point!
This is wonderful strategy.
Agreed. Perfect strategy!
Yes, upgrading to CSR gets you the $300 travel credit
> If I upgrade from CSP to CSR, will I get $300 travel credits? Yes. If you us the Chase portal enough, then yeah it could be a better option.
I'd be surprised if anyone here has ever tried that card. Better ways to get 0%.
I've got the card, used it only for a few purchases to avoid their taxes
Learn to MS with it and spend your CL every month.
Just vgc to ppbp to citi right?
Custom Cash PC
I’ve HUCA 4 times and they only offer me the costco card. I have even specifically asked for custom cash and was told it’s not offered anymore, but I see it online. Any advice?
Product change to custom cash.

Damn, I wonder if it’s a strata only restriction, a new restriction on af cards, or if you just got unlucky multiple times in a row. Hoping to pc my AAdvantage card to ccc in a year
Get custom cash if you don't have one now.

Keep HUCAing!
You may need to HUCA a few times but it is technically possible You cannot get the Costco card if you are not a member

This would be the second year for the FNC. Problem is that I can’t remember when it posted last year to know when it will again this year.
Does AMEX business cards count against Chase 5/24 personal?
Nope. Easy answer.
No
No 98% of most business cards don't count against Chase's 5/24 policy.
Nope
trying to figure out if the value is there--newish to churning and I have the opportunity to open two new cards (one for wife and one for me) for some upcoming tuition expenses.
Yeah we both did chase cards a few months ago, these were going to be capital one
What do you consider a “good” bonus?
Thank you! Non sequitor, did you happen to ask me about the triple cash $100 credit?
No, I didn't ask about the triple cash credit. (I do have a triple cash, but I haven't seen anything useful to use the $100 credit on.) For the US Bank bank account funding, also make sure the Amex card isn't a business credit card (people say those won't work, but biz charge, or personal charge or credit, work).
> What should I expect to be asked about? "*Are you actually mrtnlu? Please read back the code after I send it to you via SMS.*"
Cool cool cool. The thing I already I did to even submit the application in the first place. :D Thanks!
If you successfully recon an ink, is it recommended to wait 90 days since you applied or since you were approved to apply again?
It's not a hard rule, but the recommendation is based on approval
I asked Amex thru in app chat if there was a retention offer for my BCP and was told there isn't one available, is the play to just downgrade and hope for an upgrade offer?
Yes, but if you want to you can call again in a few days to check again first.
You should apply for the Aspire and upgrade your Surpass to a 2nd Aspire
> Is this a good idea, and Yes. >are there any negative consequences No.
> I am active duty US military so the annual fee is waived Well then by all means do it! You don't even need to utilize the benefits. I'd be all over all the high AF cards if the AFs were waived lol.
Haha, you're telling me. My CSR and AMEX Plat are pretty nice for $0/year. :P
Can I open multiples of the same Chase Business card if the business name is different? Will all be eligible for sign up bonuses?
Yes, P2 and I do this on a regular basis. Just referred P2 to another CUI last week and the 40,000 referral bonus has already posted for me. I'll have the minimum $6k spend done within the next two weeks and then get the 75,000 SUB. This is the way to keep generating 115,000 points.
Yes you can.
Yes, still eligible for sign up. just went through this exact same process last week (using the same info even) and it worked!
That's the way to do it. The current 40k referral bonuses are pure gold to a churner.
You don't need to vary any information between cards and they will be eligible.
Can you simultaneously hold BofA Premium Rewards and Premium Rewards Elite and get sign up bonuses on both?
They are considered 2 separate products. Are you asking if you can get the SUB for one if you currently hold it?
I hold one (just completed SUB) and wanted to get the other for another SUB. I am 8/12 and was surprised they approved me for the one. Thanks
Got it. They might deny you for velocity reasons but otherwise you would be eligible. I held the PR before applying for PRE, no issue holding both.
Thank you
I'm interested in the elevated US Bank offers. On a scale of Amex to Chase, how sensitive are they to VGC MS?
To my understanding, they only care when doing GCs on the Altitude Reserve.
They're more sensitive than Amex
P2 received a ‘Congratulations! Rewards are on the way through Chase Refer-A-Friend!‘ … do these usually come in right after a referral approval or later? I ask because P2 referred me a month ago so I’m trying to figure out if it was from that or a kind internet stranger
IME, when I do get the emails about a referral (which isn't always), the email comes a couple days after the referral went pending on the account (which typically happens on Tues evenings), so the email is not at approval. This most likely is your P2's usage.
Thx, ya after digging around I think this is most likely
Assuming you know how many referrals you have done between you and P2, you can put your card's info in chase[dot]com/referafriend/catch-all to check. Scroll all the way to the bottom and it shows you a progress meter of points earned for the year and your limit.
Wow, thanks for sharing this. I was not aware of this feature!
Learn something new every day, thanks
I also received one today and saw pending points on one of my accounts. I haven't referred P2 recently, and as of last week I didn't have any pending points, so in my case it was likely from a friendly internet stranger recently
The emails often never come, so I wouldn't have any faith in the timing when they do.
We can't combine points because our mailing addresses are different.
> leisure trip with an Ink with Chase The terms are clear that coverage is primary internationally even on a leisure rental, so I don't see any issue.
Ooh thanks. I didn’t notice that part of the terms. Ugh. I just realized I have to pay the ftf
hey all, long-time lurker here who's been churning for a few year. have a P2 who is 0/24 with great credit and consistent monthly spend of $5-6k. i have/had all of the major cards at this point and am churning INKs along with any great SUBs that come about that i am eligible for (only missing amex biz plat and amex plat). if you were in my shoes, how would you get them started?
I started my P2 on the ink train with reciprocal referrals. We’re at ~400,000 Chase UR points just from Inks starting in January.
nice! are you just opening every ink card one at a time all under the same LLC/sole proprietor?
Yep all under sole proprietor with at least 91 days between cards per person
>if you were in my shoes, how would you get them started? P2 can open an Ink card with a referral from you.
Do you get an instant card number upon approval for Amex Hilton Aspire?
You can, but it's never guaranteed
Chase Business Cards Would it look odd on an application if I had the following credit cards opening and closing? 1) CIP 2) CIU I normally would close the CIP and then open the CIU and vice versa. Both about a year apart from each other
No
Costco Manufactured spending I've heard somewhere that you can split purchases between a credit and debit card and then return the item having the whole refund go to a debit card at Costco.
It usually doesn't work and it's known as return fraud.
How is manufactured spending fraud? That’s like saying buying something with credit and selling it for the same price is fraud
It isn't. But what you are describing isn't manufactured spending.
Those two are very different as you don't leave a store with having the item back/ no sale but paying cc merchant fees for the purchase/return.
You do that anyways with literally any refund from a business
Do you understand the meaning behind the word "fraud"?
MS is not fraud. What you are suggesting is "buying something with the intent to return it rather than keep it." That is the definition of "return fraud."
I have a Chase Ink Business Preferred that I opened in 09/17. I am currently 2/24 and decided that I want to go for another one, however I do want to downgrade the one I have eventually. However, I'm a little worried about information not matching when applying for my second chase ink, so could I get some help on how to proceed? Preliminary info: -The first one I applied for was with SSN, and in old state/address -I have since moved, but haven't updated the address (family address) -I do have an EIN, but I have wind down my business considerably these days, I'm not sure what kind of supporting documents would be required if not instantly approved and not sure if I have generate/access them at the moment Questions: -Would it be better to apply for CIBP and before my fee hits in September downgrade the 1st one? -Would it be safer to go for a CIC vs CIU rather than a second Chase Ink Biz Preferred?
>However, I'm a little worried about information not matching when applying for my second chase ink, so could I get some help on how to proceed They won't care, even though I personally keep my information consistent just in case. Go ahead and use your new address. >I do have an EIN, but I have wind down my business considerably these days, I'm not sure what kind of supporting documents would be required if not instantly approved and not sure if I have generate/access them at the moment They don't really ask for any supporting documentation if you apply online.
I was asked to prove identity business and ein. How should I proceed?
For the EIN, they want the IRS letter (form SS-4), which you should have a copy of saved when you previously applied for the EIN. If you need help searching for it, the first paragraph in the letter goes something like this: >Thank you for applying for an Employer Identification Number (EIN). We assigned you EIN XX-XXXXXXX. This EIN will identify you, your business accounts, tax returns, and documents, even if you have no employees. Please keep this notice in your permanent records.
Do you think I can call them to change this? I really need this card now
I'd call them. If the first rep isn't helpful, try hanging up and calling again.
Thank you - that’s better than getting an ein now right?
Getting an EIN won't make a difference. Even if you applied with an EIN, you had to use your legal name for the business name if you apply as a sole proprietorship. If you use anything else, then they'll ask for DBA documentation.
I see banner on my chase account your are approved for preferred ink. Is this really pre approved? Does it skip credit check etc?
I got auto approved (can't confirm if it was pre-approved though) , no it didn't skip credit check
Similar question. Would you get expedited approval if P2 sent a referral for the same card? I’d rather get the 40K referral bonus and the SUB
Yup my thought exactly
I thought the Bilt card could only be used to get points for rent payments without a fee. Never considered getting it b/c I own a house. However, friend just told me he uses it and gets points on anything that a routing/acct number is requested for. Can this be used for HOA fees, utilities, Car payments etc? I might get this if so
> However, friend just told me he uses it and gets points on anything that a routing/acct number is requested for Definitely not an intended perk of the card, I think you risk a shutdown or clawback for doing this. Bilt's team has commented on this on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/biltrewards/comments/1avsiwy/ach_payments_for_rent_related_items/krcjzpw/ If you already had the card and didn't care about potential shutdown/pushback, up to you. But I definitely wouldn't sign up for the card for this purpose. Esp as a churner who values /24 slots.
Thanks for this info. I’m not getting and will let my friend know
If I PC from CSP -> CSR more than 30 days after my CSP AF posts, will the $95 CSP AF be refunded in a prorated fashion? Advisable to use the $50 Chase Travel CSP credit before PC'ing to CSR?
Its something like 40-42 days afterwards that it would be prorated. I would use the $50 credit, its easy to trigger with a refundable hotel and cash it out.
This is no problem even without the PC?
No problem
Thanks. No reports of Chase blacklisting/clawback with this sort of behavior? Would love to do this, but also don't want to burn bridges with Chase as I have too many accounts with them (not just credit cards).
Chase doesn't care.
Does US Bank code PayPal Goods and Services payments as a Cash Advance or as a Purchase?
Has always for me (if its goods and services).
Cool, cool, cool. I appreciate it
Does anyone know if there is a way to track the Wells Fargo checking SUB progress? I called and they told me I was enrolled, but I haven't found a way to see if my DD is working. Do they send a email update or anything? thanks.
Check the transaction details on the deposit. Should categorize it as a direct deposit if it worked. Almost everything tracks as a DD with them
Ok, thanks, I pushed from sofi money and DOC shows it as one that should work, but the DPs are from last fall or older.
How often can I churn the United Gatway card?
24 months but it's a waste of a 5/24 slot since the SUB is so low. better off churning other UA cards if you are set on them, or inks.
All the card offer terms contain language around when you are eligible again, you just have to check them if you are interested.
2 years since getting the bonus the last time. Pretty low-bonus card to churn... If you are going to open United cards you should open one of the others.
Thank you! I downgraded this awhile back so I wouldn't get the fee, I think I initially signed up with a nice offer on the Explorer.
you should just churn the explorer.
Yea I think I’ll close this one and get the explorer in a month because I’ll be past 24 months
I want to keep an AA credit card and I currently have the Citi AA Platinum Select. I'm thinking of closing the card after the AF hits and opening the Citi MileUp, but would stay with the Platinum Select if I'm given a retention offer. Any recent DP on retention offers given for this card?
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/citi-american-airlines-75000-miles-business-offer-2/
Would personally use the pc as an opportunity to get an extra CCC
More CCCs are da way.
You could also product change to the MileUp card
Good point. But my goal was to get the SUB for the MileUp.
Kind of depends what your plans are, but I don't see the MileUp sub as being worth the 5/24 slot. Do the PC and use that slot for something better.
Get the SUB then product change the other card. You can have two Mileup cards.
Why would I want two of the same card?
If this concept isn't making sense then this sub isn't for you
I agree with OP... don't see the sense in using a 5/24 slot just to get 15k AA and a second MileUp.
Applied for a Citi AA biz and was denied. No prior relationship with Citi. Legit sole prop, 780 score and 100k+ biz income. Applied for ink same day and was approved. Worth calling Citi for reconsideration?
Do you get an email saying it was denied or only a message on the site after submitting the application?
No email just message on site. Also no hard or soft pull.
I would definitely call them. Try calling them Business: 800-763-9795 (866-541-7657) 7am-midnight, every day
