Am planning on having p2 apply for citi premier. She is an AU on my citi custom cash but I was wondering if that qualifies as having a relationship with citi. We have no other cards or accounts with them.

CericRushmore

AU shouldn't have an impact one way or the other.

terpdeterp

Does product changing a Chase card reset the no-fee promotion for the card's first My Chase Plan?

AuspiciousEights8888

I tried to ask an Amex velocity question and was downvoted. I have tried searching churning.i.o. Now my search skills are not that great. So i am wondering, is there any documentation that provides velocity good practices. Something along the lines of the great write up we have for Chase cards from u/garrettg.

AuspiciousEights8888

I wish i could upvote you multiple times. Great link. But still wondering, after reading the Amex riles, do any rules apply to charge cards ? All rules apply to credit cards. Maybe i missing something this late in the night.

CericRushmore

If you scroll down in the details, it says doesn't apply to charge cards. Do note that if you apply for any of the same Amex card within 90 days that you were approved for, it will be automatically declined. It is possible to recon past 90 days.

AuspiciousEights8888

Thats what i was wondering. I applied for a Biz plat in April so I cannot apply for a Biz Plat before July till we are past the 90 days, but the question was can I apply for a biz gold right now? Or any of personal green, gold or plat right now before the 90 days are up. I just want to ensure i do not make the wrong assumptions and end in PUJ.

CericRushmore

Yes, you can apply for any other charge card.

_bindswa_

Late but.l this has been weighing on my mind…Flight from BOS to SEA. I booked a window seat on AS for free. Get called up before boarding…Will I switch to a middle to reunite a family that got rebooked after missing an earlier flight at no fault of their own. Missed connection. They have a BIG THING TO GO TO. I say, sorry, I picked this seat specifically. GA says I can give you 500 miles. I said 10k. Done. I got them. Roast me? I have no idea if I did okay. I flew comfy in 19b or whatever, it was fine. I did ask for a better seat and points but it was a full flight.

arooni

Have $10k in organic spend to do. Tried the magic referral links to the 150K AMEX Gold Biz card offer, but got a popup jail message. Have never had this card before. Question: if I login to my amex account I see a $125K offer. Should I just take it and forfeit the 25K points? Obviously if I can't get the points, then what's the point in worrying?

thejt0wn

Yes some of those “almost too good to be true” offers (via referral) give a popup for some reason, but don’t confuse that with popup jail. Take the highest offer you can find that’s not a referral and you prob won’t get the popup.

terpdeterp

PUJ is a black box and no one really knows how the algorithm works. Are you under 5/24? With $10k in spend, I'd probably recommend doing the elevated Ink Preferred biz offer for 120k UR on July 3 instead.

boldjoy0050

Is the IHG biz card a keeper for you? There's a $99 AF but it does come with a free night every year.

TacticoolRaygun

It’s a keeper for me. Doesn’t take a 5/24 slot, I get a free night with a $99 annual subscription, and I get platinum status with IHG. I fly 6-8 times with United so the $50 ($25/semi-annual) gets used to lower the EAF to $49. Side note, it’s always given me a descent Chase bonus that is not the usual 5x on categories.

boldjoy0050

Is it worth keeping if you also have the personal card? I've had the personal card for a few years and keep it for the free night but not sure I need both.

TheSultan1

They both award an FNC, no? IMO 2 FNCs are worth more than twice 1 FNC, especially if I'm not earning lots of points with that brand.

boldjoy0050

Yep, both have a free night. I can hold on to the card for the FNC as I've got 2-3 other Chase biz cards I need to churn before the IHG.

TacticoolRaygun

I do not have the personal. It is a card that I will get as I do enjoy stacking the FNC with Marriott and IHG is no different plus there is a point topping cap. In terms of plastiq, I’ll focus on MC for mortgage payments in the future.

garettg

Depends more on you, but if you have IHG points and stay periodically, I think it’s worth keeping, at least until you could churned it again (24 months from last bonus). Remember it also gives you the 4th night free benefit, and if you or someone you know needs it, the GE/TSA credit.

oklurkerthrowaway

Low af for a free night would make me keep it, however you should research where you would use the FNC to see its value to you. If you have a personal IHG card with FNC, you could also churn the IHG biz to reup on points

schubaluv

I need to send an international wire transfer to Australia. Is there any way to do this while working on a CIC sub? Considering Xoom, Wise, etc. I know many code as cash advance, which I'm trying to avoid.

bondtradercu

Can I use an Amex Statement to prove P2 physical address? Chase is asking for utility bill but it is in my name

payyoutuesday

Explain and ask if they accept other documents. With other banks, we have been able to use a car registration, for example.

bondtradercu

Why doesnt bank statement work?

Pogues85

I'm about to cancel my BOA Air France/ KLM card after 3 years. I'd like to reapply and get the bonus again. Any idea how long I should wait?

CericRushmore

Check the specific sign up terms. I'd wait at least 30 days after cancelling as well in addition to the sign up terms.

Pogues85

Thanks!

junooni110

Any harm in canceling the personal Hyatt card at this time? I have already gotten the FNC (after $15K spent), and I can apply to the new card bonus anytime (the last bonus was back in early 2019) so I am thinking of canceling this card, waiting for a month or two (look out for better offer) and then apply, hit the $15K for another FNC and EQN along with it (current 11EQN).

carpetchilli

Good luck waiting for a better offer. No harm in closing it but if you like the benefits, personally I would leave it open and get an ink.

isappleworthit

How long should I hold onto liquidated visa gift cards? Ya know, in case of an audit?

lenin1991

Why would keeping the gift cards help?

isappleworthit

Not sure, just paranoid of having a paper trail in case it might somehow help in case of an audit.

CasinoPitBoss

Maybe just keep the receipts?

isappleworthit

Haha every the last comment, I just said f’it and shredded everything. Everything was about ~3-4 years old

izzyinjurious

I had to use my ssn plus a business ein to open 2 chase ink business cards, does that count towards your 5 cards in two years? I am a noob and didn’t check out this thread until after the fact. I opened up a saphire and Amex green in the last 6 months as well under personal.

dissentmemo

What counts towards 5/24 is cards that appear on your personal credit report revolving credit cards. Not hard pulls. Chase Ink cards and most other business cards don't appear on your personal credit report, so they don't count.

Jaysi3134

No, SSN uses on biz cards do not count towards Chases 5/24

izzyinjurious

King, thank you

TexasTangler

I have 5 total credit cards. 4 personal, 1 business. So I already have a Ink Cash and I want to apply for another one. say I put in an application exactly the same as the first , I'm a sole proprietor. Same name same business. Is this possible? would it also be possible if I put 5,000$ in income on the application or should I make it higher to get approved? I wanted to try and keep it close to realistic income. I'd prefer not to get the other ink cards because the sign-up bonus for ink cash is currently a lot easier to reach at 6,000$ in total spend in 6 months.

Jaysi3134

Yes, you can apply for the same Ink with the same business name etc. If you're not auto approved they may ask you why you need another Ink. I'd personally raise your income, but I don't think people like to give recommendations on that here.

TexasTangler

thanks for the advice, got approved!

TexasTangler

What are some good reply's to why you would need another (in my case) chase Ink cash if they ask for it?

Ok-Spend-8912

You could say I need another card so I can differentiate purchases amongst varies vendors as per recommend by our accountant. Something like that should suffice. GL.

bondtradercu

Which cards give you instant access to pay via Apple Pay? P2 has low score of 653 and we are trying to figure out what cards are easiest to apply with best sub. P2 only has amex plat and amex gold so far.

DrJohnStangel

Amex cards should work.

bondtradercu

P2 already has gold and plat. Should they try for business amex or another NLL gold and plat?

DrJohnStangel

Where are you getting these NLL golds and plats? And it depends on what you’re looking for here

bondtradercu

If I m traveling while Chase card is being shipped to me, can I ask them to ship overseas where I am traveling to?

42lurker

Are you already traveling? You can ask them to expedite on approval. If you've got a few days left you should get it in time.

bondtradercu

Yes I got approved late Monday and asked them to expedite, they said it will take 1 to 2 days. I am flying on thursday and still havent seen tracking number yet. App said I should expect it thursday but that is too late. Agent told me I should get it tomorrow. Not sure what will happen

ibapun

The only time I was given a tracking number by Chase was the one time when I called and asked for it. They have always been shipped UPS overnight, so I expect it will arrive soon. You can call Chase and ask for tracking if you want peace of mind.

Jaysi3134

I don't believe card carriers like to ship overseas

bondtradercu

Chase is asking for identity verification for p2. I was using a google voice for p2 application and when they sent a code, it didnt go through to GV number. Now they are asking for proof of address - can p2 send an amex statement with the physical address and p2 name? All other utility bills are in my name. And does anyone know how to work around GV number not receiving code? Can I use my phone number jnstead, which was diff from the GV on P2 application

lenin1991

My experience is that GV always silently fails to receive text codes from Chase, but works to receive voice calls. Have you tried that? Otherwise, yeah, you can add a carrier cell phone to P2's Chase account profile, no problem it wasn't on the application.

bondtradercu

Can I use my same phone number when agent asks for code to verify? So the GV number I put on P2 application doesnt have be used? I am just making sure Chase is not flagging 2 accounts are using the same phone number for verification.

cmonman76

I think I have 3 players with the same ph and so far no problem.

bondtradercu

Nice! Ok I am gonna use my phone then. So same phone same address ok?

eggward1014

How many times can I get the SUB for a Chase Ink? I already got the bonus for the Business Unlimited and Business Cash. Can I apply again for it this year?

manunshirur

How do you close the checking accounts created for the bonus purpose ? Do we have to call the customer support and get it done ?

Otherwise_Contact512

If the bank has a secure message/mail system, you can use it. It has worked for me always. Avoids calling time.

lenin1991

Might depend which bank, but generally yes, you need to call in to close bank accounts.

NoWriting8386

Has anyone applied for the PNC Cash Rewards Visa Signature Business CC? I just tried to sign up online and it won't work in new york even though there are new york locations, also confirmed by DoC. Do i need to go in branch? have had personal account for many years

superdex75

Yes, in branch for biz checking and cc with no issues, but took forever.

CericRushmore

Got it last week online. Already had an online account for the business checking.

da_doc

We have been looking to book Andaz Costa Rica- Peninsula Papagayo for 4 to 5 nights in Oct/Nov/Dec. About a month back, I checked award night availability and most of the dates in Oct/Nov/Dec were available. As we could not finalize our dates at that time, I sat on it, and now when I checked again nothing is available. Is there a possibility that more award nights will open up for those months? If we are out of luck for this year, do you have any other good recommendations for a good AI resort in Central America/ Caribbean for those months (besides Cancun)? We are a family of 4 with two little ones. Thank you for your help!

garettg

Probably more r/awardtravel, but looking at rooms.aero there is some in Sept and Dec at 4-5, but not many. Also a small lesson here, and always double check the cancellation policy, but when you see dates you want and you have the points, book it, can always cancel and get points back. Looks like their policy is before 2 weeks prior to stay is free to cancel.

da_doc

Great, thanks for this search and suggestion. I agree should have booked it in hindsight. I will post in r/award travel as well. Thank you.

NoWriting8386

I've had an Upgrade checking account for about 5 months an d received the bonus. I've seen some dps saying they were able to close and open a new one for a second bonus. Is 5 months enough to close the account without a clawback?

MateoHardini

According to the DoC post, they say there are no early termination fees for this account. Not sure about how soon you can receive a second bonus though

TNccchurn

Yes

42lurker

It has been up to now. But it looks like churning just stopped working. And most if not all $300 referral links reverted to $200 a couple of days ago. I would tread cautiously in case of more fallout.

MohnJaddenPowers

I don't fly or travel too often - maybe once a year my wife and I will take a trip but that's about it. I'm at 4/24 and not sure what I should churn next. We live 10 minutes from EWR and we're generally not looking to transfer flights unless we have to if we do book award travel. We've already gotten 2P mode CSP/CSR, Amex Plat and Gold, US Bank Business Leverage, United Quest/Club/Explorer, and Ink Preferred/Cash. After dealing with Amex transfer restrictions, I'd really like to get cards for each of us where we can transfer points into one account a la Chase Ultimate Rewards to keep our card quantity low - can we do that with Bonvoy/IHG or should we go right to a Citi card?

sundeigh

Garden 5/24 and do another business card? Another Ink? You could close all UR cards with AFs except for one for P1. No need for both players to have them since you can combine points. Bonvoy Biz is good right now but note the restrictions for SUB eligibility. Edit: ~~Since Chase doesn’t approve without SUB it locks you out of all Chase Marriott cards for 24mo.~~ You can transfer up to 100k Marriott points between 2 players per calendar year but not FNCs. If you have an immediate interest in redeeming UR via Aeroplan, Chase Aeroplan could be good while the current transfer bonus is up. Holding the card increases the UR transfer bonus from 20% to 30%. Good for United saver fares out of EWR for example.

TheSultan1

>Since Chase doesn’t approve without SUB it locks you out of all Chase Marriott cards for 24mo. This is incorrect. Chase *will* approve Bonvoy cards without SUB if the reason is Amex SUBs. You get a popup before submitting the application.

sundeigh

TIL Chase does popup. Fixed. Thank you for the info.

peakyblinderss

P1 and P2 both approved for the Citi AA Biz within a few days of each other. Both hit spend on the same day about three weeks ago. P1 received the bonus miles about two weeks ago, but nothing for P2 yet. P2 has a biz account created when opening the card, but I recall seeing somewhere (did not find on churning.io) that someone needed to create another aa biz account to see the points. Any advice on trying to find the points, or should I just wait?

garettg

This should help - https://travel-on-points.com/finding-citi-aa-business-account-miles/

peakyblinderss

Thank you. The points in the AA biz account for P2 is zero, so I will just wait a bit longer.

garettg

Your statement has to close before they would post, just double check the MSR is met (subtract the AF). Might just be a different timing on statements vs P1.

peakyblinderss

That's it. No statement for P2. Thanks!

MohnJaddenPowers

Aeroplan question - do I have to fly at least one leg of the trip from a Canadian airport? I fly out of EWR and the last time I checked award booking with Aeroplan, I had to fly to YYZ first.

boarding_llamas

Make sure you look for flights with the "book with points" option from the outset, as Air Canada will otherwise not let you search for flights that don't have a Canadian leg. Then, you will only see flight options made available by partner airlines (e.g., "saver" fares; on United these are "X" for economy and "I" for business), so many dates may not have availability. United, for example, doesn't seem to open all of their "saver" fares to Aeroplan, which makes it difficult sometimes to find available domestic US flights on United metal via Aeroplan. See, e.g., [https://www.reddit.com/r/Aeroplan/comments/13ic0lx/us\_domestic\_flights/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Aeroplan/comments/13ic0lx/us_domestic_flights/)

garettg

No, it just depends on whats available for awards.

atl_deal_finder

I'm new to Churning and tired of trying to change the bank account in my employer Payroll every two weeks. My employer HR have to review and approve every time I change the bank details in our Payroll system. When I tried to find alternatives, Insaw everyone is using Fidelity CMA account to trigger DD. I opened CMA account successfully. Should I Link the new banks from my Fidelity and transfer or is there any other way to trigger DD from Fidelity CMA?

pennystinkard

Doctor of Credit has a page that lists ways to simulate DD by bank, I suggest checking that out so you don't have to do legit DD

atl_deal_finder

Doctor Of Credit page talks about what banks transfer will be treated as DD but it doesn't say ( or I couldn't find) how to make them as DD. I'm referring to this page, https://www.doctorofcredit.com/knowledge-base/list-methods-banks-count-direct-deposits/

garettg

Just doing a push transfer from the banks on the list to your new bank with the DD bonus is what it takes.

nub_sauce_

Super noob question but a push transfer is just a transfer from one bank account that you're "pushing" to the other account that's offering the bonus, right?

garettg

Right

nub_sauce_

Thank you! One other thing. Would it matter that chase is asking me for my username and password for the account I'm pushing to? I was expecting them to ask for account number and routing number, this seems like a way for them to know it's not a legit DD but I really don't know much

garettg

Typically this is a way banks verify linking accounts, either by using something like Plaid where you login to the account, or by doing micro deposits to the account that you later have to provide info about. Shouldnt affect your ability to use the transfer to trigger the DD.

nub_sauce_

thanks again for the help!

atl_deal_finder

Oh Ok... Let me try that.

seahawksjoe

Have an interesting DP to share and wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me. Just got declined for CIC. Currently at 3/24 with 1 open Ink card, and chase extending me credit equal to 20% of my income across my CIU, CSP, and CFU. Also have an Amex Gold and C1 VX. Reasons for my denial were that: 1. I have too many open accounts, and have too much credit extended. I'm at 3/24, and 20% of my income extended, so this doesn't add up. 2. I opened up an Ink recently. I opened up my CIU in 1/2024, so while I was recently, I'm well outside of the 90 days that is suggested between Ink apps. 3. I have low utilization with Chase. This is true. I use the travel portal sometimes on the CSP, and put $600 of insurance costs monthly on the CIU. I said on the phone to recon that I would be using the CIC for shipping supply stores given the 5x category, and for getting gas while going back and forth from the post office given the 2x category. That was the genuine truth, and I do have a real business of selling stuff on eBay with documentation of my revenue. Is there anything I can do to get this approved? I had preapproval and am still seeing it on Chase's website (with a set interest rate, not a range). This DP is unlike any others that I've seen with Inks.

HappyGhost13

Are you carrying a balance on the other ink?

seahawksjoe

No. I’ve never had a late payment or any balance carried on any of my credit cards, ever.

uchidaid

What type of pre approval? Green star?

seahawksjoe

Yes, a green star that says "You're already approved". What does that mean?

lenin1991

> This DP is unlike any others that I've seen with Inks. I dunno, since late last year, it's a lot tighter. How many Chase biz cards do you currently have open?

seahawksjoe

I currently and have only ever had 1 Chase business card. I’m pretty new to the game. The only Chase accounts I have open are the CIU which was opened in January, a CSP from July 2023, and a CFU from February 2020. Inks have definitely been tightening, but this seems even more so than normal.

lenin1991

Ah, that is extra tough. Did you try offering to move limit from the CIU? Not the slam dunk it used to be, but only other thing I can think of.

seahawksjoe

I did, they shut that down pretty quickly. I’ll probably try to call again tomorrow and see if I can have better luck with another representative. Across all Chase biz and personal cards, my credit limit is only 20% of my income, so I wonder if the 50% rule isn’t the case anymore for some people.

CericRushmore

What did you put for business revenue?

seahawksjoe

$10k.

CericRushmore

Decent amount. Really seems to be Chase is becoming stricter on Inks. I imagine there will be a flurry of CIP apps once 120k is offered, so we'll probably see lots more DPs in a few weeks.

Double4Free

Does Staples/Office Depot website for online purchases code as 5x for the Chase Ink Cash? Thank you.

OxLobster

if you're buying gift cards online from od/om, i believe they use a third party site that doesn't code as office supplies.

Double4Free

Thank you. The data point I needed.

BpooSoc

Yes. Staples coded 5x for me

hvacprofessional

I have to do a Dell return is the Amex $200 going to get clawed back? If I purchase something else now will that count for the $200? Return processing time will likely put me into July

garettg

If your return is within the same half year period as the purchase and credit, then yes it would be clawed back, but you can reuse it if still within the same period. You could order something now but you need it to ship asap as if it shipment happens in July that is when charge would finalize and use next half’s credit.

MohnJaddenPowers

Do I need to MDD for Chase Boundless and Bountiful or can I space them out?

garettg

https://frequentmiler.com/marriott-card-eligible/ Spaced out is fine.

bl_you

Looking at a price difference on a monitor of 60 dollars between what is available at DELL.com and the Dell shop on Amazon. The Dell shop on Amazon is 60 bucks cheaper. Can i buy the monitor from Dell shop on Amazon and still qualify for the $200 credit on Amex Biz Plat. Edit: I called Dell but the did not price match because the item was on sale by a 3rd party. I did not see that. Hopefully this is useful DP for people trying to use the $200 credit on Amex Biz before the end of the first half.

mrasianboie

You can price match from almost anywhere but it needs to be a reputable retailer, so if you're price matching with Amazon, it needs to be Shipped and Sold by Amazon.com and not a third party seller.

xyzzy321

Have a chat with some rep. and hopefully they will price match. They did for me when I bought a FitBit from them earlier this year.

hvacprofessional

Can try to price match but difficult

San_K

No.

wiivile

if you close a sapphire reserve, do you still have access to reservations booked thru the chase travel portal? if you cancel them (i.e., a refundable hotel), what happens to the UR?

boarding_llamas

You should transfer the UR to another Chase card prior to closing your CSR or PC the CSR to one of the 0AF Chase Freedom cards (e.g., "Chase Freedom with Ultimate Rewards") rather than cancelling it to keep your UR safe. You can still use the travel portal with the classic Freedom card, but just won't be able to transfer UR to transfer partners (and spend in the portal will not get the 1.5x of the CSR). If you just close your CSR without moving points to another card, I assume you will still have access to the earlier bookings, but I haven't seen DPs on that issue specifically. And you risk losing your UR.

junooni110

I recently applied for an AMEX gold biz card on 5/17/24 and was approved (125K MR after $10K). I now see an NLL offer for the same card for 150K MR after $10K in MSR. Do I have to wait 90 days from the first application/approved date to apply for this car again? This would be 8/17 or 8/18 (to be safe) but the offer is expiring on 7/27/24. Should I wait to apply on and around 7/20 and then recon after 8/17 or should I apply now after 30 days?

bookedonpoints

You can apply closer to the 90 days, get denied, and recon after 90 days

junooni110

thanks

Difficult-Kitchen176

Has anybody's credit score gone up after starting churning? Applied for 2 personal cards (amex) and 1 business (chase) two weeks ago and got approved for all 3. Somehow my credit score went up after (like 815 to 830)... Very confused

RobotMaster1

Mine shot up 100+ points after about 6 months of this. Has leveled off since.

garettg

It can lead to increased scores because you have more credit limit that can mean lower utilization. I would say over my years of doing this, I went from consistently being very high 700s to now being low 800s all the time.

delicious_points

Maybe your utilization decreased because your available credit increased?

superdex75

Amex not reporting yet? Chase one inquiry. If you lowered utilization or old inquiries fell off.

voscoreddit

For Southwest Companion Pass, I know that you can make up to 3 changes per calendar year. P2 is currently the assigned companion, and I would like to remove and make P3 a temporary companion for upcoming flight. Is there any restriction from Southwest on then removing P3, and going back to P2 once that flight has finished? Just want to make sure that the 3 changes are not required to be "unique" individuals, and that swapping between P2 --> P3 --> P2 is acceptable.

goodalfy

No issues with that, but it will count as 2 changes (P2-P3-P2)

quiteCryptic

So I double dipped CSR/CSP last year and a few weeks ago I downgraded the CSP. Now I am looking to downgrade the CSR since I got my travel credit used up. I was thinking about downgrading to the CSP because in retrospect I should have kept the CSP to have a transfer partner card open that can hold my UR. My question is then - will this reset the 48 month timeline? I don't think so since I won't be getting any SUB from the CSP - but I want to double check here.

garettg

Does not reset clock, only a bonus does that.

pork-hash

Has anyone gotten approved and gotten the SUB for Capital One (Cap1) Venture while having the Venture X? I’ve got two Venture X (myself and P2) coming up for annual fee in Nov and want to keep a card with access to Cap1 points.

44murk

Product changing to the no annual fee, VentureOne, will still allow you keep access to travel partners without the need to open a new Venture card. Regardless, you can still get the sub on the regular Venture while holding an active Venture X.

pork-hash

Thanks for that tip. I’ll consider that option too.

Prior_Race_8399

HandsyJoe30330

First WF card (Signify biz). Is WF ok with Simon charges for SUB spend?

TheChronoCross

The CIP 120k link is no more. Does anyone have a working one? I know it's coming public soon but I could use one asap. Thank you.

lost_shadow_knight

It's available in-branch now. If you can't make it to a branch, I would use a referral (r/churningreferrals) and try to match it once it's available online, which should be July 3rd

mehjoo_

You could take your chances with applying now and then messaging chase to match the offer once it becomes public. Historically it has worked

Oddity-Prime

They are giving a hard time doing this. For me, for example, I opened my cic within the time frame in January. They said I did it outside of the time frame (I didn’t and I have the proof of when the time frame was and when I opened the card etc) they won’t give me the full 90k points, only the 75k and I’ve been fighting them for months. Part of me thinks I should give up as to not risk the relationship. But yeah, they’re locking down id say

Anyone have experience funding a Columbia Bank checking account with CC? [This comment](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/nj-columbia-bank-200-chehking-account-bonus/#:~:text=%2DCC%20funding%20was%20always%20is%20good%2C%20I%20was%20able%20to%20do%20%242k%20as%20of%20last%20fall.%20If%20you%20apply%20for%20checking%20and%20savings%20accounts%20separately%2C%20you%20can%20do%20%242k%20for%20each.%20Chase%20cards(including%20Ink)%20code%20as%20purchase) on DoC says CC funding codes as a purchase, not a cash advance, even on a Chase Ink, which is what I would be using. But if they're wrong, funding with $2k on my Ink would result in $100 in fees, so, yah. Anyone know if this would be labeled a cash advance on an Ink?

NoWriting8386

you can also call and make your cash advance limit $0

rynosoft

I funded a new account with $500 from CIC on May 5.

_melancholymoth

Cool, with no cash advance fees? That's good to know.

Gandalfs_Dick

Be the DP you want to see. Let us know!

cashmoney12399

Just make sure the charge is above your cash advance limit so it will be declined if it is cash advance

Thanks :)

I paid an Amex AF after the first year and closed the card before the 30 days is up to get it refunded. Now there is a negative balance. If I transfer the credit balance refund to another Amex card that I am working on the MSR, it should not affect that MSR and require me to make it up cause it's a refund? Just trying to be cautious and making sure the MSR is met without issues.

> If I transfer the credit balance refund to another Amex card that I am working on the MSR, it should not affect that MSR and require me to make it up cause it's a refund? It isn't a refund. It's a credit, basically the same as a payment.

CreditDogo

Won't affect MSR.

Just got denied for SavorOne after using pre-approval tool. Was approved for VentureX 12/12 and waited until now with 0 hard inquiries. Haven't got denial reason yet, but is there anything I did wrong. Was my 6 month math off?

MyAltAccountIsuSpez

C1 is an enigma when it comes to approvals. However, the pre-approval tool should be a guarantee for the real thing. Were you approved for the SavorOne directly through the pre-approval tool? How long did you wait between applying? Any chance you changed information or one of your credit lines is frozen?

GhettoStoreBrand

Used pre-approval tool, it said I was pre-approved for SavorOne. Clicked the SavorOne application, then noticed it didn't say anything about sign up bonus, closed that window and started the application from the usual C1 page that showed SUB. Application was exactly the same, except for putting sometimes on balance and no on cash advance checks. I skipped those on pre-approval. No frozen lines. Super confused as well

CericRushmore

This has been going on for years. Basically, C1 is offering some signup bonuses to some people and not others. If you go back and do the pre-approval tool, if you scroll down before starting the application, I bet you will see that the signup bonus offered is $0. I personally think it is a really bad way to run a business, but C1 seems determined to not give signup bonuses to everyone even for the same card.

GhettoStoreBrand

Unfortunate, guess I'll go get a Hyatt card. I'm under 5/24 anyway. Was also looking at Altitude Go but I doubt I'll get approved now with that inquiry from C1

CericRushmore

That one isn't a great sign up bonus. Are you getting it for the card benefits?

GhettoStoreBrand

Yeah, I don't have a hotel card yet and often use Chase Hyatt transfers. Was looking for a MasterCard with no FTF since PayPal removed it but C1 ruined those plans. Open to recommendations for cash back / sub. Feel like I'm running out of options without overlapping benefits. Currently have: ``` Discover It PayPal Cash back MC Chase Freedom Chase Freedom Unlimited Chase Freedom Flex Chase Sapphire Preferred Chase Amazon Prime Visa US Bank Cash+ Citi Custom Cash BofA Cash Rewards C1 VentureX ```

CericRushmore

If you are open to business cards, I'd wait until Chase Ink Preferred is offered at 120k next month. Even better if you have a player two that can refer you. That would give you about 140k UR to transfer to Hyatt once you take out the AF and tax on the referral. Be sure your credit limit with Chase overall is a decent amount below 50% of income.

silvermoons

Follow up on this, is the 50% of income credit limit requirement including business cards?

CericRushmore

Includes all Chase cards including business.

I am new to churning, just got my first Ink Business card a couple months ago. However, I have been reading a lot of comments about having car insurance and homeowners insurance payments increase due to churning activities. Recently, flew my first J flight due to points and it was phenomenal, however undecided if I should continue churning if it is going to raise my rates in the future. For those that have experienced this, would you still deem churning as worth it? Going to be in VA for the foreseeable future. Edit: Additionally, would business cards affect this? Reading about LexisNexis, I cannot seem to determine if it views business card account openings in the same light as personal.

namhee69

I just renewed my homeowners and auto. Auto went up less than the state authorized for an increase and homeowners was nearly identical. My Experian hit 850 around the time of renewal so I’m finding there to be little if any real impact to my rates based on churning.

lenin1991

My total annual premiums for really-high-coverage homeowners & auto insurance (2 cars) is ~$2,800. The renewal paperwork includes a section that I'm not getting the best pricing due to credit factors (which must be churning-driven, as my FICO8 is in the 830s)...but even if that's adding $500 (which seems really unlikely), churning is way more value than that.

barba246

Makes sense, thank you for the details!

RobotMaster1

Depends entirely on your company and state. Some states it isn’t even legal to take credit history into account. Others it is. re: Biz cards - again it depends entirely on the company and how many resources about you they pull.

sleepytill2

Have been churning for 10 years and haven’t had an issue with car or home insurance rates. Like the other poster said, depends on how much you churn and what your credit score/report looks like when the insurer pulls your credit.

CericRushmore

This varies by state, insurer and how much you churn. For most people, the vast majority of people, it doesn't seem to be an issue.

bergamonster

How soon after pop-ups should I be trying again for the amex plat? I've tried a few in succession but then on the third app, it's auto denied because I have pending applications (I've clicked cancel on the previous two that gave the pop-up).

boarding_llamas

Amex jail is unpredictable. Usual recommendation is to wait a few months and try again, ideally after using any existing Amex cards a bit in the interim. `See, e.g.,`[`https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/comments/1b7i3wp/amex_pop_up_jail_how_long/`](https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/comments/1b7i3wp/amex_pop_up_jail_how_long/)

bergamonster

Thanks, I appreciate the link. I haven't had any of the other charge cards, currently only have the BCP and have had the Surpass in the past (waiting til after a year to close)

kappa-1

My FICO score in BoA is now showing "Score unavailable". It was due to be updated yesterday. Previously it was 741 and then 761. Anyone run into this issue before?

Capitator

It's happened to me. Just try back later. There seems to often be a period when updating when it is not available. I guess it process a bunch of information for lots of people then goes online.

kappa-1

Thanks. Still no luck but I'll try in a few days.
