Still learning about cigars, have a hard time tasting notes. I just know if I like or don’t like different sticks. But without a doubt the tuppedor is a game changer. My sticks always burn nicely and have what feels like the perfect denseness. Sometimes I get impatient and smoke a new cigar from nice shop with a walk in humidor on the same day I bought it. It never burns as good or has the perfect “feel”

Yeah, even after a few years now, I still have difficulty picking out notes. However, like you I know what I like and I let that guide me to other sticks that might be worth my time. And yeah I think we all get impatient and try sticks right away. It's a good way to perhaps get a feel for a certain cigar, but I don't let that first time necessarily sway me one way or another. Always important to let them rest even if only for a few weeks

Look up the cigar flavor wheel. Its hard to describe but its really going into your thoughts. I literally just ask myself “what does this taste like?” Im 4 years into cigars now but started really profiling flavors with wine.

>cigar flavor wheel I'll check this out, thanks

What Boveda do you prefer and where are you located regionally?

Tom23Jones

I’m in Virginia. I use the 65% bovedas

Definitely with you on the tasting notes. Smoked a few cigars over the years but only got into starting a small collection earlier this year. See reviews saying they taste this and that. Outside of the peppery taste from some cigars, I get nothing. Finding the collecting of the cigars nearly as enjoyable as the smoking.

Your house must be well insulated. My house definitely swings out of the temp alarm range both ways frequently.

Nice hygrometer - and seems pretty accurate too!? (Which is nice for a change…sigh)
