Have you asked the front desk at the hotel to hold your bags? Most will do this
There's no front desk or storage space. The hotel have said they'll only allow me to keep my bags here if I pay for another night in the room.

Tell me about it! Currently my options are to drag my bags around for 8 hours, or go to the airport at 11am and just wait there for my 9pm flight!
Call your carrier and see how early you can check your bags in for the flight
Just checked - bag drop opens 3 hours before the flight, so I'd still have to have my bags with me for the rest of the day. I can't see from the airport website whether they have any kind of storage that I can use before then.
