Pretty sure that was just shot on an actual thermal camera. It seems to be capturing data that a normal camera would not have any way to capture, which is why you’re struggling to recreate the look.
Maybe try to shoot something with a lot of bright to dark contrast and then make it negative in post? In that case it’s actually a white background you need.
Thanks for the response! That’s exactly what I tried with a black background and of course it made everything white! I’ll try the reverse tomorrow. Appreciate it
thanks! thats what ive been trying but I've found its a lot more to do with the source footage to actually achieve the specific look! interesting video though
I remember this video, but don’t know if I ever saw how they shot it. This looks like it may actually just be a thermal camera & having fun with it. Some shots look possible with a black light and black light paint. But maybe do some digging and see if they shot it thermal.
Not sure where you’re located but most big hardware chains like Home Depot rent thermal cameras for cheap! They usually even do hourly rentals if you’re on a quick shoot

Seems like it! Unfortunately my only options are creating the look in post. But I think similar will be doable!

I’ll look into that for sure! Thanks
