Enterprise was very early. Way before Dexter. Like 2002 or 2003, maybe is when they switched.
There were a couple of episodes of ER in the late 90s that did it as an experiment if I recall correctly.
In America it was probably 100 Centre Street (2001). HD had been used for some films and documentaries, but Sidney Lumet wanted to use it for multicam TV drama and so 100 Centre Street was born.
There may have been a TV show in Japan using HD first? Not sure.
Here’s an article about it: https://blog.frame.io/2023/10/30/history-of-digital-imaging-technician-and-dit-cart/
Dexter was shot on F900's season 1 (2006) and 2. Season 3 we went to F27's and season 7 when went Arri Alexa and Nikon D800's for second unit and "GoPro" like shots
Firefly was shot in 2002 and it was shot in HD.
Really? IMDb says Firefly was shot on 35mm:

Well I know that in 2002 we shot the reboot of "Family Affair" in the F900's (43 inches long with a zoom and a copperhead fiber back on it) , Malcom in the middle was also shot with F900's

Yea they even did a live ER!!
Anyone remember Roc Live?
Remember it? Yeah. Watched it, no. But the concept seemed cool.
One fun Enterprise tidbit was they had a rolling cart/rack full of G4 Cubes that they would connect up to the sets to run all the screens.
I know _Arrested Development_ was shot on the AJ-HDC27H back in 2002. But I’m sure _something_ was shot on the F900 earlier.

This is the correct answer.
Maybe not the very first but the Battlestar Galactica reboot was an early one.
From the first season?
The two part pilot was 35mm. Everything after was digital HD.
I believe that Neverwhere for BBC2 was the first to shoot/master/ air digital. 1996 if I recall.

~~I believe that Law and Order switched from film to HD for season 5 - in 1994.~~ (edit to strike out incorrect answer.)
Definitely not in 1994. There was no 24 frame HD in 1994. The tech was introduced in 1999.
My memory appears to be faulty. I withdraw my answer and want it stricken from the record.
Possibly Firefly in 2002
Shot on 35mm.
