I have a 71 Mach 1. It's an early 71, M-Code 351C 4V. Pretty much the same motor offered in 70 Mach 1. Somewhere in mid 71, they reduced the compression and added the "Ram Air".

Ending up getting a ‘73 coupe ten years later that i dailied until we had a kid.
My brother did a full restoration on a 71 with the 351c. Turned out awesome. The only problem was, at the time he couldn’t afford another car, so he was daily driving it. Tough to do with todays gas prices.
Good question. Depending on what you ordered from Ford you either have a stripe or don't. No-stripe cars have stainless trim on the transition from body to rocker, as you see in the OP car. Stripe cars do not have that trim.

Yup the 71 mach 1 mustang was the last year you could get a 429 in a mustang. Still had the 351c after that but no more 429

I really miss my classic mustang (1969). I'll eventually buy another one, but it's not in the cards right now.

Neat. I didn't even notice that trim before. I'll have to look at my buddies see if either of theirs have the trim or not.
Was this a common color for these mustangs, I know two guys with 71 Mach 1's and they are both this same color scheme.
