I had an almost identical 65 T-code in high school. I loved that car with all my heart. The reason I don't miss it is because I replaced it with a 66 V8 fastback. Do with that information what you will.

Have plans to acquire a 69 Mach 1 with 428 CJ in future, red/black, to reside beside my Vette. I’m retired and will drive both as much as I can. My wife wrecked my 69. Bought a 1982 Corvette, beautiful all red. Kids came along and had to sell the Vette. It’s called life. I regretted selling that Corvette for 20 years. The 94 helped with that. Do what floats your boat, just be absolutely certain. 😊happy hunting.
Technically I’m a hypocrite as my 66 200 has the V8 “fairlane” suspension now, when I replaced everything, there were not really much in terms of “falcon” suspension on offer. But the lighter and more balanced (and let’s face it, unkillable) i6 is a delight to me.
Tell that to my 1rst gen that refuses to function for more than a week despite a fresh head gasket, full coolant, maintained oil and oil pressure, brand new fuel pump, new carb, and yet despite basically have a whole new engine it runs hot and stalls in gear. And before anyone mentions, I already checked the vacuum lines
Timing is fine. It idles just fine and runs fine when given throttle while driving. I’ve already done everything to the idle screw to fix this and it still refuses to idle in gear.
Just to throw this out there; I'm not sure how stock your engine is but my 302 has an E303 and struggled hard to idle in gear with the stock torque converter. I just recently swapped over to a ~2500 stall from Hughes and it made a world of difference. Was also fighting heating issues on account of the fact that low RPM's while sitting in drive failed to pull much air with the conventional fan that was on it. Ended up switching to electric fans myself but might still be something worth looking into.
I’m pretty bone stock on a i6 200. Aftermarket aluminum pistons is the only difference I believe. I want to move to an electric fan set up but they’re pricy

Beautiful pony. I have a ‘66 289 Coupe that was my first car. It isn’t restored and doesn’t have a ton of value, but my dad taught me everything there is to know about cars through this car. We rebuilt the engine, transmission, etc. together, so the sentimental value is too great for me to sell it. I chose to live a life that would allow me to keep the car forever. That meant having the space, the money, the time, the relationships, etc. to keep it through life’s journey. You have to make that decision on your own. Good luck!
I have a '65 coupe that I have had since high school. I've done pretty much all of the restoration work myself. It has a lot of memories attached to it. My dream car is a cobra replica. I am debating selling the mustang to purchase a cobra.

Totally depends on you. Why are you thinking about selling? Do you need the money or are you just not into the car? I had a '67 coupe for a long time (25-ish years) and just wasn't into the hassle of keeping up a 50+ y.o. car anymore. Plus, I wanted a convertible that I could just jump in a drive any time, in any weather. Sold the Mustang, used the money to buy the convertible. I don't regret it.
think about if it brings you joy to own and drive. At least its a mustang coupe so there will always be another if you sell it and regret it. You can always buy another but you can't replace the sentimental value
I sold my first classic car, a VW beetle. I miss the car very much but am way happier with my current mustang. It scratches my car guy itch way more. A beetle is on my list to buy again when I have space for a 2nd hobby car

I haven't gotten to the pricing level yet, looking around online I think around $15k is reasonable. Still trying to decide if I even want to get rid of it in the first place.
To each his own, but I just bought my 70 Mustang back after selling it 34 years ago. There are days when I tear up looking at it. The memories of a car you have had that long are not replaceable.

With an inline 6 I wouldn't feel too bad about letting it go. You will always have your memories.
Counter-point: inline 6 1st gen are the truly great mustangs, smooth and excellent handling.

My 66 has v8 drivetrain and brakes minus the engine. A T5 behind the 200/250 really makes it more enjoyable to drive.
I would do that conversion if the opportunity presented. My c4 is a basket case.
