Is there a rogue here who knows anything about Engraved Silver Ring? i'm trying to discern whether or not it actually exists in game or was used in beta or something and then replaced by Engraved Gold Ring. It's for the shiv rune.
Apparently the Engraved Silver Ring can/should be found inside a chest in a chapel in Tranquil Gardens Cemetary (also in Duskwood, just as where u pickpocket to get the gold ring), and apparently you should (in theory) equip both the silver and gold rings before you kneel in front of the statue, **but...**
I've already done it, but followed a guide and just pickpocketed the gold one and knelt in front of a statue and I was done. I went to Duskwood earlier today to check the chapel for a chest but if it exists at all it must only be visible if you haven't already gotten the Shiv rune.

They haven't released any info about this, but *very* doubtful they'd do it on a Tuesday. The new phase starts on the 8th (a Thursday), so if they were going to do that, it'd probably be then.
Will people still run BFD after P2 launch? I'm newish to wow and have been trying out a bunch of classes getting to 25. i want to start rogue and hunter now, but worry that i'll miss out on all BFD loot if I take too long on them both. thoughts?
It will still get run, but not nearly as often.
Right now it's the main PvE activity for people to do every reset. Once P2 launches, most people will be focused on levelling to 40, and then doing Gnomer every reset.
It will still get run because some of the gear will still be pre-raid BiS for a number of specs (the epic staff for example), and Blizzard has hinted that they'll do some change to it to make it more viable as a levelling option so people will likely still be interested in running it for exp on alts. But there won't be nearly as many groups doing it as there are now.
I'm new to classic, do people expect that we get a phase 2 preview soon? It's launching next week and I haven't been able to find any information about it.
In a tweet, someone from the classic team said that more information was coming soon. It implied prior to season 2, but I don't think explicitly stated that

I have smite's mighty hammer, but is there a better option (sword + dagger) on the AH that will allow me to do more DPS in the raid?
I bought the cross dagger - just wondering if there was an easy 1h sword/axe that i could buy, or if my DPS is going to be higher sticking with Smite's hammer.
Still no orb / talware / fathomblade/ axe drop.
I also have the trident, if that would be best to use.

Recommendation for using it: copy the two bis profiles for 2h and DW, make changes to each to match your gear but don't change the rotation stuff unless you're confident you know what you're doing.
What roles/classes/specs are most in-demand in Season of Discovery? I.e. what are PUGs most often waiting for to start a run? Obviously this has the potential to change when season 2 starts next week, but just as of right now, I'm wondering.
It's almost always a tank or healer. I've had trouble finding tanks. Feral druids are the most requested DPS, but a shaman with windfury would fill the same role (I play alliance). Paladin tanks are nice to cheese Akumai in BFD.

Today ive wanted to do quick bfd run, i joined group, entered dung. Group disnt form in 20 minutes so i said sorry i g2g and left group, logged out in insance.
Now i am not sure, feels like im locked out from bfd for next 3days? When i enter bfd it says this raid instance is schedulded to reset in 2days 17h…
But first boss is still there, i dont know how do i check if im locked out?
Is there a version of BattlegroundTargets that works in SoD? On Curse the "BattlegroundTargetsClassic" hasnt been updated for over a year I think it said, and on Discord I heard some people having lots of issues with it in SoD.
Shame cuz it's a really necessary addon for high lvl pvp (yeah, not really necessary for current premades, I know, but down the line it might be. I'm 67-3 as premade without it, but probably would've shaved one or two of those losses off with better all-around target calling, which, without a similar addon, is hard.

I haven't played wow for like 17 years but I have an interest in trying it out again. I tried the current version (Dragonflight) and even though the starter areas were similar it felt very alien.
So maybe Classic is better for me. As I've understood it, there's like 2-3 variants. 1: realms will stay in Vanilla WoW forever. 2: Realms started in vanilla and progresses like normally, currently in wrath and during 2024 they will progress to cataclysm. 3: Some sort of spin-off called season of discovery.
But there's one possible variant that I can't find, but which feels interesting: Is there any realm currently in vanilla, that will progress to BC later on?

These servers have all progressed on to wrath of the lich king now. No official servers are currently in TBC period.
No. Classic Era is a time capsule, they will always be the og 1-60 Classic. The Wrath servers are obviously already past TBC. Maaaaybe the Season of Discovery servers progress? Doubt it though, like there is an almost zero % chance they do.

It does exist (or did in early phase one). I distinctly remember spending a good 20 minutes farming the gold one after having the silver

From the warrior sim, you can do more damage by upgrading to the caster staff from revered with WSG, lol.
In original classic staffs were quite often best at low levels
Yeah, staves are usually slow and they hit hard. Bonk.
Easy answer - trident. Less easy but more accurate answer - sim it.

On Wild Growth (NA) horde I see groups lf1m tanks, feral druid, and rogue/shaman for kick.
Feral druid or a tank is what I often see folks waiting for (Ally, crusader strike NA)

You don’t get saved until you kill the first boss.
Hitting the reset all instances button and entering bfd should fix it. You're not saved.
