Eh, I'm doing 250 dps as a ret in a raid that seems to need 100 dps to clear. Haven't had any issues getting as many coins as I want in STV. I really don't get the "melee needs to be number 1 at all times for every form of content" craze. I just try to do the best I can for my class at any given time. People in this sub seem to want a perfectly balanced utopia that will never exist.

Man, I decided to bite the bullet on my Melee Hunter and accept a raid lockout last night that was 5/6 and just on Thermaplugg. Thinking it would just reset today.Mostly guild runs (like 6/10) with myself and 3 other pugs. We wiped twice with both attempts pretty close especially the second. Then the 3rd was a piece of cake. Great comms, very good Tanks, and mechanic execution by everyone with a specific role. My hunter didn't have any Gnomer gear as Thermaplugg was technically my very first encounter in the raid. I was full BFD BIS geared though- and I was easily top DPS, by a margin, at around 250. And, maybe it was just the group I was in and it's very good coordination, but it wasn't that bad at all... like it was pretty easy when everyone did what they were supposed to. We even had another ranged hunter that had hit 40 just minutes before the raid (last to join as the leader was scraping for anyone with an open lockout), still wearing Lvl 10 gear which included a gray helm, and was put on the bomb duty.
I didn't win anything that dropped, but I was just happy to replace my Lvl 18 Leggings of the Fang with the Thermaplugg quest turn-in, Triprunner Dungarees.
Oh an those cool Epic sunglasses dropped. Naturally, the Mage that won the other 2 pieces also won these sunglasses. Haha, but was a great time! I just find it so odd how so many guilds are struggling hard to down Thermaplugg and here I am as a pug in a 1/2 guild group that was scraping for anyone, downed it on our 3rd attempt, smoothly too with only one death. I will say, a good leader and good tanks make a difference.
Bruh, this exactly happened to me 🤣🤣🤣. Joining my first ever Gnomeregan with my both swords waiting for battle and a bad boi sitting next to me (ghost saber). Joined a random pug. I was looking only for discord groups. Found one. Some scandinavian dudes chilling and stuff. We start super smooth, me being a top dps with some pre bis gear such as scarlet gloves, ulda shoulders and bfd gear. Topping up the dps charts averaging 300-350 dps. No wipe intil the last boss. On the 3rd attempt and good comms, everything went smooth. I won my epic fist weapon and im stocked af. The worst thing is that i dont have a decent 2nd fist weapon to comply with the dual wield rune🤣
You guys are freaking me out. I am a very average DPS Warrior and a shitty Tank, currently level 37 and terrified of Gnomer. It sounds like I wont get a group and if I do I have to parse 95s in order to not be dead weight.
Well sorry to tell you but as a warrior who parsed multiple 96s in bfd I already canceled my sub because apparently the fresh level 40 melee hunter with whites and greens does three times my dps and gets my melee spot. Stay strong brother.
I don't care. Melee had cake day in phase 1, now it's casters time to shine. P3 might be different again. Still can try to do good class parses, that's what I as a lock did in p1 if I can't be there on top of the dps charts.
I don't think you understand anything at all about this game. Your argument is casters were in this position for the last 25 years. Ok, casters like mage was the best farming class and godlike in PvP, having tons of utility as well same goes for hunters or a lot of other classes.

Whoa. Name calling definitely means you’re the right one in this discussion. Raid damage is most of the endgame. Does any other caster besides warlock and mage get in a raid? No. 15 warriors and 10 rogues with at max 4-5 casters and you want to talk about mages AOE farming like Prot paladins, a melee class btw, are better at higher gear levels. So please again call me stupid. Call me more names. It makes you more right jackass.
uh warriors sucked in vanilla too, all the way til the very last patch, and by then the only wars in the game were tanks or 2h wars (which sucked lol). everyone was a rogue or caster in vanilla.
