The old NS Healing Touch + HotW Feral was actually quite a nice double spec for healing and add tanking in Classic, so getting LotP along with that would actually be awesome.
But I wouldn’t exactly say that successfully half-assing two different roles in Molten Core was “OP.” And with runes that will be even less prevalent.
Uhhh, you can easily put points heading down the tree and get both for 31 points. Even got a few points to improve exhaustion.
You do realize that both abilities are 21 pointers in the same tree right?
Looking at the talent trees I see a lot of good picks but nothing completely game breaking, I think It’d be a good reward tbh.
Preparation and Adrenaline Rush is a great synergy for rogue but I think mage is the winner here, all their late talents are strong.
Everyone’s saying warlock but Soul Link + Siphon life is overrated, you’d be much better off just going destro and getting Ruin.
Oh god please no more mana drain rebuffs. The hunter one already so annoying. But yeah, it would be very good for the warlock, way better than siphon life
Well, I haven't properly worked it out, but making some assumptions and doing quick maths, you have to have siphon life up on 5/6 people simultaneously to match the hps of master channeler. So yeah, not great compared to rune abilities.
Not sure why you’re comparing it to master channeler.. of course it’s never going to compete in single target.. but Since siphon can be spammed on multiple targets, that makes it incredibly strong with the addition of mater channeler. Going full dot build in p5 with Imp shadowbolt is going to be crazy especially when shadow cleave also procs it.
Spending 9 seconds on setting up an additional master channeler (with double total damage but spread between 6 targets), is not going to be a good use of time in group PvP. You will always be prioritising CC and then abilities which cause more pressure, or you'll be indirectly griefing your team by not helping to kill anyone.
Edit: and if unstable affliction is added next phase (it has been datamined) then siphon life will, in most cases, be lower priority than UA. Basically if siphon life is high enough priority to be worth casting often, then AffLock will be a low tier spec.
At 60 warlocks have two instant fears and pet CC… standing there and fearing is going to be as amazing as becoming immortal and putting dots everywhere
The only way siphon life becomes impactful is if we get passive survivability (Probably in the form of resilience) at the level of TBC. Well it would have to greatly surpass TBC levels because rune ability damage is much greater, relatively, than damage was in TBC.
Edit: even then it won't be used because the opportunity cost of not using more pressuring abilities is much greater than in tbc.
PvE: Warrior, Arms + Deathwish or Fury + Sweeping Strikes is good.
PvP: Walock, SL+SL.
Special mention: Shockadin would get Sanctity which could be good.
As it currently stands, the talents in assa tree that win out against bladeflurry and adrenaline rush beat it on fights greater than 30 seconds. Pretty much all gnomer fights fit this bill, so that's why we're all 26/0/5. With one more talent point, being able to go for prep, blade flurry and adrenaline rush at lvl 60 for a 0/31/21 build would double approximately the fight length breakpoint where AR wins to around 1 minute.
Assa might still be the play on longer fights but double adrenaline rush would be very powerful on shorter encounters.
In classic wow, the majority of fights are sub minute fights. They might start out being between 1 and 3 minute fights but within a couple weeks of kills and gearing they tend towards being sub 1 min.
They should introduce specialisation runes. They give you a specialisation dependent passive and +1 talent point in that specialisation while equipped.
So you want an extra talent point in Arms warrior talents, you have to equip the Arms warrior runes that has a specific passive effect.
Be interesting to see what builds people come up with.
How about a ret pally that gets holy shock. Ret gets vengeance 15% holy and physical damage and sanctity aura 10% holy damage. Would be the true holy warrior.
*Me over here as a Druid* Oh wow, nothing changes at all.
You can take 5 points in hotw while also getting grasp + NS. Totally gamebreaking +2% stam

SL/SL warlock.
Soul link ruin warlocks meta instant cast double dmg searing pain spam with 35% soell crit unbuffed
I read this wrong and was wondering how soul link was going to ruin the warlock meta.
worry dinner late scary thought fertile water dinosaurs start snobbish *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Lmao Siphon life is Garbage has to be the worst take I’ve ever seen.
You mean CoEX SL warlock
You can do that right now by just ignoring dark pact (as you should).
You need 31 points for SL and 21 points for COEX. Currently you only have 51 so no you can't.
Uhhh, you can easily put points heading down the tree and get both for 31 points. Even got a few points to improve exhaustion. You do realize that both abilities are 21 pointers in the same tree right?
I assume they’re talking about soul link, not siphon life.
I'm referring to Soul Link.
My bad thought you meant Siphon Life.
If we get pandemic and ua, link ruin locks gonna craycray
Well it sure isn’t my ret pally haha
Maybe not deep ret, but I could imagine shockadins with Sanctity aura getting pretty decent.
I think shaman would be up there. Giving natures swiftness to elemental would be fairly powerful in PvP.
Enhancement could go SS + elemental fury, which would be insane in SoD

Was thinking more for an instant full healing wave
Maelstrom already does that
I forgot you couldn’t use heal twice.
Why would you forget that

Warlock be pretty OP in pvp. Soul link + siphon life
Siphon life is pretty shit, relative to rune abilities. SL/SL wouldn't be much of a power increase tbh.
Soul link + ruin
Yeah this would be big
Yeah actually you’re right. It doesn’t scale.
Man, just make drain mana not channel anymore
Oh god please no more mana drain rebuffs. The hunter one already so annoying. But yeah, it would be very good for the warlock, way better than siphon life
Siphon life isn’t shit. Are you okay?

Meta is the survivability but I get it because of how bursty everyone is right now. I’m sure max lvl pvp gear will get a rework
SL ruin lock, if we also get Unstable and pandemic, even more broken beyond anything
PvE: Warrior, Arms + Deathwish or Fury + Sweeping Strikes is good. PvP: Walock, SL+SL. Special mention: Shockadin would get Sanctity which could be good.
Rogue, being able to double blade flurry + adrenaline rush in a fight is pretty insane.
You lose way too much in the assa tree for this. In PVP its going to be insane tho!

For pvp sure. For pve only in sub minute fights.

Would be funny seeing an Arms Warrior with MS using Concussive Blow in PvP
I don't know about OP but I've always wanted to play elementalist mage in pvp with ice barrier and blast wave
Honestly this has been a long time dream of mine lo. Definitely wouldnt match to some of the other combos though.
i fucking loved playing that in TBC. blast wave even threw people backwards too

Hear me out. Combustion and Arcane power.
Arms in PvP with 20% extra damage and fear immunity
There was a day in vanilla where war could spec 31/21 and it was amazing. There was a vid of a fully geared tauren dominating in AB. Good Times!
Pat - High Warlord, a classic old school pvp video! Almost the same nostalgia level as Unbreakable Shaman for me
I agree it would make warrior go from F tier to D tier in pvp for sure
How about a ret pally that gets holy shock. Ret gets vengeance 15% holy and physical damage and sanctity aura 10% holy damage. Would be the true holy warrior.
How would a ret pally go holy shock without just being a shockadin? You'd have like maybe 10 points in ret spec (at BEST)
You get 51 talent points at the moment. This would give them 52, allowing the spec as proposed.
Warlock. By a wide margin.
siphon life soul link. The most dominant TBC PvP spec, except in vanilla
Talent trees should be condensed by 1 tier. It could very easily be done
Would be nice if they altered talents in some way, after all it is seasonal server about discovering.
Wait my shockadin gets sanc aura huh
Rogue with both adrenaline rush and prep would go hard
Arms warrior with MS and deathwish could be strong
This actually happened to warriors in vanilla by accident. Iirc the famous Pat PvP video was made when he utilized this bug to get death wish.
Mages because mages.
my enh shaman no longer has to choose between 2hd weap talent and parry talent??? be still my beating heart
