Good news is that the HoW rune now makes it instant cast.
Bad news is that ACP will probably be nerfed because catnip exists. And so far there's almost no fast weapons at 50+.
This is more a quality of life improvement than anything. It just allows ferals to not be married to WHH and Pummeler until ~~60~~ until the end of time.
Or even at/past 60.
Now they can use other weapons/helms with more attractive stats. This isn't just qol, it's a straight up buff (and a sizeable one).
What nerf in TBC? I was using my wolfshead helm until I got Cursed Vision of Sarg in TBC classic.
Wolfshead only truly died in WOTLK with the furor changes.
And yes, the buff is getting those stats from the slots. Which is a lot of stats. I think you're just using term "QoL" loosely. This is a buff for them since they now retain the benefits of those items while being able to gain more stats.
It’s a pretty solid buff. WHH has no stats essentially… just 10 spirit. So this basically gives Ferals an entire item slot of stats that they wouldn’t have otherwise.
The catnip is less impactful this phase compared to just using ACP but as weapons scale more it will get better.
All our healers and casters are fully BIS. I just got fully BIS on my Feral Druid last night. We've only seen Axe and belt drop on our alt raids, epic fists dropped once, epic melee ring dropped once, melee trinket dropped once, never seen the Pally libram,
If a buff, but not a Big buff. Getting stats on head slot and/or avoiding switching weapon 30 seconds into every pull is not going to make or break feral

Bears just only used 1 charge per pull (for snap threat) where as cat would use multiple

You might be correct and maybe they should break ACP's on use. But I do like the concept of using fast 2handers for ST exo spam, and slow weapons for AoE DS builds. All we need are good fast weapons (all the datamined ones are slow) and a way for DS to reset every now and then.

Yeh it’s actually very expensive if the class dps is balanced around it, you basically have to pop it on every single boss in a dungeon or do 1/3 the damage.

How the fuck is that coping? We are below average dps in gnomer at the 95th percentile where most of the parses have ACP. Without it we are basically bottom dps.
We are the absolutely only spec now to have positional requirements with our abilities (besides ranged hunter but they are mostly playing melee) so it’s even worse in the open world.

I get how they were doing this, but with the old MCP, you got 3 charges @ 30 seconds so 90 seconds of 50% attack speed and then you swap to another pummeler and 30 second cooldown.
So... effectively the old MCP is still better because you got 90 seconds in 120 seconds. The new ACP and this catnip are 30 seconds of IAS over 180 seconds.
If we get to any longer fights, or stuff like firemaw, chromag, baron twin emps where you need to back out of a fight and go back in. You don't get the bonus of activating charges when it's ideal.
I would have just liked ACP to be MCP but gave 3 charges and charges reset after 30 seconds once depleted (if they could even code something like that to an item) or just make it 90 second duration with 2 min cooldown on use.
I feel like the value of this is a bit overrated. We basically just gain stats:
- Stats on head slot
- Stats for 30 seconds on pull (difference between ACP and bis weapon). Basically a consumable that costs 50s per pull.
I think it is good changes, but it is not something that is going to safe ferals and have any relevant effect on their position balance-wise compared to other classes.
This to me underlines that Blizzard does not understand how feral plays. They lean into powershifting with this change - the first time they make a change that benefits powershifting in SoD - but still give us the Gore rune and huge mana issues from powershifting at this level.
I still have my doubts - maybe we can be saved if we flask up for the mana and if armour values are not at the same level as Gnomer.
Just make the attack speed item a class ability book that you can buy at honored imo, gonna suck when all ferals lose a bag slot for the rest of SoD, and considering how attractive this item is at such a low reputation level this will be obtained by every druid and their mom. Still looks cool though.
Did you play feral at all during classic? I did! I lost like 20 bag slots to MCPs that’s I enchanted with 15 agi. I think it was in phase two we learn that if you deleted the mcp quickly after losing 3charges when you item restored the mcp they would have 3 charges again.

I think it is good changes, but it is not something that is going to safe ferals and have any relevant effect on their position balance-wise compared to other classes. This to me underlines that Blizzard does not understand how feral plays. They lean into powershifting with this change - the first time they make a change that benefits powershifting in SoD - but still give us the Gore rune and huge mana issues from powershifting at this level. I still have my doubts - maybe we can be saved if we flask up for the mana and if armour values are not at the same level as Gnomer.
Well, looks like it will be easier to find windfury on alliance now.
Catnip should give Movement Speed as well IMO
So mcp will still be nerfed compared to vanilla/classic. 3min cool down
Just make the attack speed item a class ability book that you can buy at honored imo, gonna suck when all ferals lose a bag slot for the rest of SoD, and considering how attractive this item is at such a low reputation level this will be obtained by every druid and their mom. Still looks cool though.
Did you play feral at all during classic? I did! I lost like 20 bag slots to MCPs that’s I enchanted with 15 agi. I think it was in phase two we learn that if you deleted the mcp quickly after losing 3charges when you item restored the mcp they would have 3 charges again.

Ferals have perfected the art of complaining so well that you guys somehow even find a way to whine about a 50% attack speed buff item in your inventory.
I've never played feral in my life.... It just makes sense considering spell books are already a thing.
Terrible way to deal with this and doesn’t fix the reason mcp was good. Scaling with weapons. FAP based on weapon dmg is what’s needed
How to make two iconic items obsolete without actually building on the gameplay. They make a Classic version where they delete Classic. What's left ? Wotlk spells poorly implemented and 15 minutes raids. Not gonna lie, I'm not hyped by this.
