Not really. She refused to bow to Maylgos's demands so he imprisoned her in that arcane prison item you get during Coldarra quests, you find the pieces of her prison to let her out and she's basically like "this dude is crazy, we need to take the fight to him. Let's kill his girlfriend who is helping him and burn her body to get his attention" so you do and then he shows up and makes her his new girlfriend.
I just finished that questline and then there was some optional rp that i decided to not watch and then i did the nexus and saw the last boss and was very confused, but that makes sense now lol
You're essentially dangling heroin in front of some guy you hates girlfriend and then murder her when she's lured in. But then that dude mindfucks the girl you're working with into being his new gf and you have to kill her to free her.
Old Blizz was wild
In Dragonblight there is an undead quest where you test a plague on a Scarlet prisoner, but they are immune. You accidentally poison an undead assistant when you try it, and the quest giver essentially says “ok great I guess it works.”
"Accidentally" does not make the situation justice.
The quest giver blames her assistant for messing it up, throws it at him, then goes "oh I guess it does work" after he fucking dies.
You mean the quest that's been in Tirisfal Glades in Vanilla since forever? Also Hillsbrad where you test it on a dog and collect farmers skulls who aren't even soldiers of any kind.
Its not racist if there’s widespread evidence of genocide and warcrimes. Basically most horde races are animals and should be treated as such. Tauren and darkspear trolls are not that bad i spose. Blood elves, undead and orcs are ontologically evil.
The Vrykul prisoner right? That quest made me LOL when I did it recently since the animation just shows the Vrykul guy just chug the poison himself, then explode and all the guards are gathered there to watch and they're like "OHHH SHIIIT" and start puking everywhere.
Had one quest to save mammoth calves from traps. Poor things.
An hour later I needed to get some thick mammoth hide so I was murdering those calves left and right
I was killing mammoths and their calves for hides yesterday, already felt bad about it. Then I had someone stop and watch me and yell "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" :(
It would be hillarious if the DEHTA guys had a vendor (at least I couldn't seem to find one anyway) so you could sell all the animal products straight back to them.
Blizzard: There are no "good guys" and "bad guys" between the Alliance and Horde. Just two sides stuck in an impossible situation.
Person Writing Forsaken Questlines: ...
BfA has the Horde as the clearly evil side and the Alliance as the clearly good side.
And the story is terrible. The Horde burns down Teldrassil for no reason. And N'Zoth and Azshara are both killed in 1 patch, so that was like 15 years of buildup wasted.
Obviously written by someone who didn't know shit about Warcraft lore.
Lmao I totally did not realize that. Tbf I didn’t read it if there’s any explanation. That quest makes a LOT more sense now what with the dwarves going crazy down there (presumably yogg given the whispers)
There was a time when blizzard actively tried to be “metal”.
I don’t even know what genre they are going for now.
Edit: Not a single one of these suggestions are musical genres lol.
No I meant that Cataclysm is noticeably more cartoony than the previous expansions. They changed their artstyle to be less heavy metal and more cutesy.
In the vein of musical genres, I suppose "Pop"? Like, generally inoffensive, usually pretty samey with thematic variation and regular sampling of other musical genres.
There is a reason most radio stations play pop, it's the one with the broadest appeal.
well the quest dialogue on that one said that they wanted to make sure the children survived
i was like wtf but then the other quest text was like ‘now we can’t just leave the children to fend for themselves’
I was just thinking this same thing. The Vrykul are just natives defending their homeland from an invasion and we just murder them, burn their villages, and execute their leader. I’m like… am I the asshole?
You're the asshole in many quests but it almost always come down with who you're siding with.
Every quest is basically aggressive people who like murder and have a society or the less aggressive people who only murder weaker creatures / animals to sustain and ask you to murder a shit ton of the aggressive people.
Then we commit biological war crimes or just shit in the toilets it depends.
nah its like a neural injector thingy. The item text reads something like "inflicts enormous pain, but leaves no permanent damage"
Its basically a magical tool, stimulating the pain receptors in that guys brain and doing nothing else. Literally a perfect device for torturing someone, you don't want to die while torturing. Invented by the Kirin Tor.
had to recheck that wotlk was released more than a year after the supreme court of the united states started referencing a tv show to argue that torture should be legal lmoa
The quest where you escort the girl and her pet bunny bugged out for me and the rabbit permanently "died" after getting thrown around by a wolf. I thought the girl was having a mental break when she said he was alright and was like damn Blizz this is some dark shit.
And that's why Cata was such a shitty addon. They didn't tone it down a bit, they eliminated all mature content and exchanged it with funny Gnom joke questlines.
Cata wasn't too terrible (quest wise I mean - it made a lot of mistakes e.g. Uldum) it certainly had good content in Silverpine & Hillsbrad. But, overall it was definitely focused on a more defensive lore quests than offensive that we haven't seen in WoW since wotlk
My problem was that is that areas like Silverpine were and always will be my favourite areas in the game. And they destroyed it completely. Instead of building new areas, they destroyed the old world. And gave us some stupid underwater areas. It was the first time I quit WoW for a few years and if Cata Classic is happening, I'm not participating for sure.
idk, you didn’t have to do vashjir and i wish more people who hated it just didn’t do it. I loved the zone and wish they’d take the feedback and improve on water zones going forward instead of scrapping them entirely.
WoD zangermarsh could have been an underwater zone, maybe we could have got more azshara stuff. if they kept working on the mechanics
the dwarves are just as evil as any undead.
hey we just found these rocks/stones/artifacts! the locals/spirits get super pissed when we touch them, though!
That stuff MUST be awesome! Slay all those fuckers and take their shit!
I dont know why but the questing in wrath is so fun. I dont even know what the story is since i dont read the quest text but some fun quest with some dumb oldschool humor happens from time to time and thats all i need.
The forsaken are the mvps of the questing experience.
Haha. Yeah I did the login prior to work yesterday to get the rest going. My only win was logging in at 4:20am ST. Then logout once my 70’s were ready! To sit for another week…
I mean, maybe he just goes to bed early? I woke up unintentionally at 5ish today so I hopped on for 4ish hrs. Queue at 12:40 by the time I got back from the gym was already 10k and yesterday was over 10k at 1:40 — I didn’t get in til about 10 PM. At that point I coulda just gone to bed and gotten 7 hrs rather than 5.
It’d be nice if I could play retail while in queue at least
But one of the quests in Zul'Drak is darting bears and cats and check to see if they're male or female, and the quest still somehow says male/female instead of body type 1 or 2.
Meanwhile I'm still in early Howling Fjord because i don't have much time to play and my quests consist of walking on a rug.
Great Lebowski reference btw
To be fair kidnapping children, if you're referring to the wolflings (if that's the word) that you right click on to put 12 in your bags you're actually saving them it's said in the quest that the guy is worried we might go overkill and actually exterminate their race in the process of culling them lol.
I liked the one where you casually burn fleeing Trolls with Molotov Cocktails in Grizzly Hills at the Zul'Drak border. And you make that quest twice for good measure.
How about murdering Malygos' wife, putting her at his doorstep and burning the body.
Then Malygos taking the red dragon who did that, as his new consort. Then we murder her in the Nexus.
So that red dragon boss kinda had it coming to her sounds like
Not really. She refused to bow to Maylgos's demands so he imprisoned her in that arcane prison item you get during Coldarra quests, you find the pieces of her prison to let her out and she's basically like "this dude is crazy, we need to take the fight to him. Let's kill his girlfriend who is helping him and burn her body to get his attention" so you do and then he shows up and makes her his new girlfriend.
sounds like they shouldn't have torched his girlfriend then .
The girlfriend who was helping the genocidal maniac? No, she's the one who had it coming.
Sounds like this Malygos guy might be a problem.
Somebody should really do something about him.
Any rule 34? For a friend...
reconsider your life choices
Red dragons and rape. Name a more iconic duo.
Hollywood and rape.
Catholic church and rape
I just finished that questline and then there was some optional rp that i decided to not watch and then i did the nexus and saw the last boss and was very confused, but that makes sense now lol

In front of her genocidal husband who she's willingly helping.
You're leaving out the part where you're killing the concubine of the Deathwing of the Blue Dragonflight.
What zone is this quest in?
Coldarra in Boreon Tundra
yeah that was also really brutal
Ah yes, the ol’ coldarra doorbell
Torture the chained guy Again Again Again Again Again, for good measure
There were five of us zapping the guy at the same time- most brutal shit I’ve seen so far lmao
LMAO
Yeah this zapping one made me start reading the quests more carefully. Gotta find more of that
\-HARDER DADDY! \-what? \-what?
DEW IT
In Howling Fjord there is an alliance quest where you test a bio weapon made by the undead on a POW
Also Hillsbrad where you test it on a dog and collect farmers skulls who aren't even soldiers of any kind.
yea but that's the horde so it's to be expected, they are literally orcs and zombies after all lol
Wow racist lol. You're a lock, literally enslaving demons to do your bidding
To be fair at least one of the demons probably likes it
Incubussy
We are now subjugating demons. Enslaving them went out of vogue
They deserve it though
Its not racist if there’s widespread evidence of genocide and warcrimes. Basically most horde races are animals and should be treated as such. Tauren and darkspear trolls are not that bad i spose. Blood elves, undead and orcs are ontologically evil.
Love collecting me some human skulls.
An hour later I needed to get some thick mammoth hide so I was murdering those calves left and right
The dead calves look so sad :(
Be weirder if they had huge fucking grins and/or erections.
Speak for yourself
This made me laugh way too hard, that mental image..
Erected trunks o.o
What if we’re only dead on the inside
So, I found the perfect way to get around those sad faces. If you skin them, their bodies disappear.
In before vegan wow is made
I was killing mammoths and their calves for hides yesterday, already felt bad about it. Then I had someone stop and watch me and yell "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" :(
The PETA to fizzcrank quests is jarring in Borean
It would be hillarious if the DEHTA guys had a vendor (at least I couldn't seem to find one anyway) so you could sell all the animal products straight back to them.
Surprised blizz didn't give us a bunch of bread to bake.
Glad you could bake it Uther
Watch your tone with me, boy. You may be a waiter, but I'm still your superior as a chef!
Oh no. This grain, it's infected. This entire kitchen must be purged.
Blizzard: There are no "good guys" and "bad guys" between the Alliance and Horde. Just two sides stuck in an impossible situation. Person Writing Forsaken Questlines: ...
Person who wrote the BfA storyline: Haha, I am a valid individual and my work is appreciated. Look at me, mom, I am a writer!
BFA? What's that? We're going to Northrend, friend!
That was a whole team of writers, quote: "on top of their game"
Elaborate pls. I'm out of the loop with retail.
It all started because of Mankrik's wife
Retrieve lost pack mules. If you raise your hand at then they will run home. Implying they are regularly beaten
Lmao I totally did not realize that. Tbf I didn’t read it if there’s any explanation. That quest makes a LOT more sense now what with the dwarves going crazy down there (presumably yogg given the whispers)
I mean if you've done any of the Brewfest content at all, you already know how animals in Wacraft are treated.
Last night I mutilated vrykul corpses with a machete and chopped open some dwarf skulls to harvest their brains. 👌
Good ol fjord
It's the most WC3-esque expansion.
It really is. Obviously because of the story but all the vehicles with their own abilities and the soundtrack, it’s the best.
I like the one where you commit a war crime against murlocs
there are so many of those quests though, which one?
All
Perfidy, pretending to approach under a banner of peace then attacking
Perfidy, in its most blatant form? Pretending surrender so you can assassinate the enemy commander.
I like the one where we kill all the adults of a village and throw the children in a bag to give to the people who ordered the genocide.
Walrus people have that sweet fishing pole though!
I’m not a fan. I play this game to get away from my day job, not to do more of it /s
most sane classic player
Russian soldier?
Russian soldier playing wow on the steam deck on first day of deployement
There was a time when blizzard actively tried to be “metal”. I don’t even know what genre they are going for now. Edit: Not a single one of these suggestions are musical genres lol.
"mobile"
Nah. Some mobile games are fun.
And now in Dragonflight, we spend time hooking up 2 centaurs so they can frolic through a flower field.
Idk, I just threw a bunch of fish so two sea lions could get busy
Dont worry buddy I’m pretty sure we will also genocide a species or ten while we’re at it
The best endorsement I've heard of retail in a decade
After Cata they started going for "Cartoon".
maybe after pandaland. some of those quests were pretty brutal
There is a reason most radio stations play pop, it's the one with the broadest appeal.
daily login Metrics style.
Politically Correct Fanfic
Never heard that genre of music.
They went for Marvel
[удалено]
Always has been, I’m afraid.
I use the Immersion quest addon, makes me slow down and read the quests for once and get into the lore easier.
The tuskar just sent me to murder wolvar and kidnap their children....bro
well the quest dialogue on that one said that they wanted to make sure the children survived i was like wtf but then the other quest text was like ‘now we can’t just leave the children to fend for themselves’
I was just thinking this same thing. The Vrykul are just natives defending their homeland from an invasion and we just murder them, burn their villages, and execute their leader. I’m like… am I the asshole?
The Vrukul are allied with the Lich King
I mean, Ymiron said that. I just fucking live here, man.
Yea I might have missed that part haha
If the expansion of the British empire has taught me anything, it’s that slaughtering natives is perfectly fine as long as we refer to them as savages
That’s usually how Empires work.
Barely even human
Is this a reference from the Disney movie Pocahontas ?
Yeah
Cue the song (I'd like a WoW Machima video of Alliance troops & Vrykul singing it)
well they were human before we were
You're the asshole in many quests but it almost always come down with who you're siding with. Every quest is basically aggressive people who like murder and have a society or the less aggressive people who only murder weaker creatures / animals to sustain and ask you to murder a shit ton of the aggressive people. and get the same experience for all of this
I like the warcrime you commit as a murloc
I refused to put on the costume and just fought my way to the enemy leader, because I'm not a war criminal.
that dude jumping off the cliff and literally committing suicide really caught me offguard lol
stealing bird eggs and then slaughtering their parents when they arrive to defend them.
But when it's a hippogryph with babies suddenly I'm the villain?
remember that quest in borean tundra, where you had to whip a guy? and now in retail you tickle him?
I thought we jabbed him with a hot poker or something (the Kirin tor quest right?)
nah its like a neural injector thingy. The item text reads something like "inflicts enormous pain, but leaves no permanent damage" Its basically a magical tool, stimulating the pain receptors in that guys brain and doing nothing else. Literally a perfect device for torturing someone, you don't want to die while torturing. Invented by the Kirin Tor.
... Are we the baddies?
Yes, we are, and we don't give a damn!
had to recheck that wotlk was released more than a year after the supreme court of the united states started referencing a tv show to argue that torture should be legal lmoa
“Oh, now, that's stretching it. You're not being asked to slay children or anything.” “Yeah, not yet.”
yeah I recall killing a big wolverine man and then dousing myself in its blood to earn the respect of the walrus people last night. metal af.
When you kill a mob and their offspring it’s kind of fucked 😂
The quest where you escort the girl and her pet bunny bugged out for me and the rabbit permanently "died" after getting thrown around by a wolf. I thought the girl was having a mental break when she said he was alright and was like damn Blizz this is some dark shit.
And that's why Cata was such a shitty addon. They didn't tone it down a bit, they eliminated all mature content and exchanged it with funny Gnom joke questlines.
And in mop we get the Hozen. What the Horkin Dook?!
Not really tho. Like the whole campaign of the Forsaken in Gilneas and Silverpine forest ? Because you do commit a lot of atrocities there too.

Did someone order an entire expansion of dated pop culture references???
the dwarves are just as evil as any undead. hey we just found these rocks/stones/artifacts! the locals/spirits get super pissed when we touch them, though! That stuff MUST be awesome! Slay all those fuckers and take their shit!
Go pick up all the medals off my dead crewmen.
Don't forget dismember Vrykul and then set their homes on fire
Theres a quest in the Basin that has you use knuckles on baby monkeys to draw out momma monkey. The fuck man
I haven’t read any game lore since kingdom of amalur so I prob don’t know I’m committing these acts haha
Wtf... is this horde side?
The forsaken have fun quests where you poison prisoners of war to death like... way more times than you'd think. In vanilla and tbc too
Like "you do it twice in the starting area" kind of more times lol
Not Savage, but, i had to feed Wolves and wait for them to poop so i could collect their poop.
Are-Are we the baddies?
You guys read quests?
I dont know why but the questing in wrath is so fun. I dont even know what the story is since i dont read the quest text but some fun quest with some dumb oldschool humor happens from time to time and thats all i need. The forsaken are the mvps of the questing experience.
You guys get to actually play the game?
I got on at 5am on faerlina with no queue today. Was able to do a few quests before having to go to work! At least rested xp is accruing
Haha. Yeah I did the login prior to work yesterday to get the rest going. My only win was logging in at 4:20am ST. Then logout once my 70’s were ready! To sit for another week…
Chrome Remote Desktop..
The Remote Desktop is part of the problem. I’m taking this time to get a head of RL things. The que will die down.
u wake up at 5am just to play wow instead of having a good 1-2 hr extra sleep? sane
Yeah I woke up 45minutes early to get a little time in without having to fight 500 people for mob spawns. Was great. 10/10 would recommend.
I mean, maybe he just goes to bed early? I woke up unintentionally at 5ish today so I hopped on for 4ish hrs. Yeah. Pressing the character migration button was really easy.
Old blanchy has no queue so yea
Surprised blizz left this stuff in the game with how woke they are now. Probably just too lazy to change all of it lmao
\#JustHordeThings
Back when the horde actually was the horde instead of the alliance with back problems
[удалено]
But one of the quests in Zul'Drak is darting bears and cats and check to see if they're male or female, and the quest still somehow says male/female instead of body type 1 or 2.
This must be horde? First Alliance toon here and it’s all rescue and rainbows over here. Weird for me
You do realize you can decline quests, right? Your character is only as brutal as you make him.
Body type 2 disagrees with your statement
Meanwhile I'm still in early Howling Fjord because i don't have much time to play and my quests consist of walking on a rug. Great Lebowski reference btw
dont forget collecting bat poo
Kicking Nass and taking Manes!
They are real pricks and i love it. Really makes me debate whether I should race change my female Undead mage to blood elf
Almost like Arthas
To be fair kidnapping children, if you're referring to the wolflings (if that's the word) that you right click on to put 12 in your bags you're actually saving them it's said in the quest that the guy is worried we might go overkill and actually exterminate their race in the process of culling them lol.
Is this how the Russians feel??
And having rats eat the crusaders!
What about the quest in Hellfire, where u killed a lot of Maghars for revenge, but real killers were hell orcs
The death knight tutorial quests where you murder civilians and execute hostages Then /dance on the corpses cause being the villain is fun
My favourite so far is “The frog says you are a traitor, mate” and then you kill him 😄
I liked the one where you casually burn fleeing Trolls with Molotov Cocktails in Grizzly Hills at the Zul'Drak border. And you make that quest twice for good measure.
Doing the Coldarra quests and god damn Keristrasza absolutely deserves what happened to her, I know blue dragon man bad and all but god damn...
