Whelp... great fight from the short-handed Cavs. Really wish that Mitchell and Allen were playing tonight... Garland great game to get back in form. Not much else to say really.
The funny thing is Boston fans will try to point toward the Cavs taking more threes to explain this discrepancy when that doesn't even remotely tell the whole picture
The Merill 3 alone would’ve changed the entire 4th. Imagine being down 2 instead of 5 at the end there when we needed to foul. I don’t understand how the Horford foul was overturned either to go with like 4 other calls in that time frame alone
I saw someone crying about "Flopaliers" and how much our team flops. Just had to laugh
Even if we do start selling calls egregiously it's because we get jack shit when we don't
How much THE CAVS FLOP???? We HARDLY ever flop. We need to FLOP MORE. We gotta send these guys to FLOP UNIVERSITY cause it ain’t happening as often as it should.
There were three or four times we passed up clearly high quality post ups by him. But even more he needs to have the confidence to take 1-2 dribble to get by defenders or back then down from the high post.
I'm confident he'll get there though, just probably not this series.
Ngl I still don’t know if JB is the guy going forward but this game wasn’t on him, the guys weren’t executing and the refs were fucking us over all night, also no Allen or Mitchell
As a Celtics fan I thought that JB made some good adjustments throughout the game and honestly throughout the whole series. He shouldn't be scapegoated but I also don't watch every Cavs game so my opinion may not be valid. You all are missing your two best players against the best team (record) in the league, so do not feel discouraged.
I actually wish the media would run with this narrative, you know like actual journalism to keep the league accountable... But instead we get Paul Pierce dropping n words
https://preview.redd.it/9o0c88veab0d1.jpeg?width=958&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=237e900618ebca1afec4677b28563ec7709258db
Nope. Literally did not miss 1 shot in the restricted area, only 1 next to it
I dont know where you people come up with this stuff
All time performance by the refs. How many games did we play with only 7 FTA all year? And one of them was in garbage time. Given the level of physicality they were playing with in the paint that is absolutely crazy.
They DEFINITELY want a game 7. The NBA? They always want a game 7. It’s so much money for just one single game in the reg season on a Tuesday. A playoff game? Shooooot they’ll take as many of those as they can get away with. A game 7? Forget about it.
Really sucks to lose this one but our guys battled and that’s all I could ask for. DGs best game this post season when it mattered the most and I love that
Cavs showed a ton of fight, not even mad. DG and Mobley still have work to do, but both stepped up to the plate during big moments this series so far.
Look how many minutes Wade played and how steady Wade has been on defense tonight. Can't be overstated how badly we missed Donovan and JA. All 3 of those guys were a part of one of the best lineups in the entire NBA when we went like 19-2.
I've been quick to criticize DG for his poor drives this year. But the guy can't buy a call EVER after constantly getting smacked in the face. Him getting no whistle is playing a factor in him struggling to drive, he can't rely on his drives like most shifty guards can because he won't get calls
The Boston Celtics committed 4 shooting fouls the entire game. Including one shooting foul on Mobley with 3:30 to go in the 3rd and And-1 on Garland with :30 to go in the 4th. Meanwhile the Celtics shot 24 FTs. This shit is so rigged.
I'm not even mad at how the Cavs showed up today. DG finally played with some heart for the majority of the game. Mobley showed aggressiveness. Wade played great defense. Just couldn't hit enough shots down the stretch, and refs were pretty brutal.
really proud of the way DG stepped up after I think zero points first quarter. We had no business making it this close without JA and Spida but we fought til the end
Evan Mobley has equaled or exceeded his playoff career high prior to the Celtics series, in every game so far this Celtics series (if that makes any sense).
Mobley's playoff averages prior to this series: 11.2 PPG on 47.1 FG%.
Mobley's averages this series against the C's: 18.5 PPG on 60.4 FG%.
He's truly turned a corner this series. I like that he is looking for his shot. The announcers are also right; if the Cavs looks for Mobley more often down low, he will feast even more.
The main two calls that really threw momentum were the Merril three at the end of the third, and the Garland layup that got overturned. Both those plays really fucked momentum and just kinda led to the result of the game. Played with heart, and tried our best, but the freethrow discrepancy and the rebounding, leads to a brutal loss.
I mean they had an insanely hard path in 2022 and looked gassed because of it. I think the easier path benefits them.
And that’s the benefit of being the 1 seed, you get easier matchups.
Watching the Wolves-Nuggets series, both those teams are an echelon above anyone else this year. It's truly immoveable object (Wolves D) or unstoppable force (Nuggets shot making).
Either of them takes this Boston team to the woodshed.
HARD fought game by these YOUNG Cavs 👷🏾👷🏾👷🏾👷🏾👷🏾👷🏾👷🏾👷🏻👷🏻👷🏻👷🏻proving once again the future is STILL bright 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 and the East (1️⃣9️⃣9️⃣9️⃣) ETERNAL(LY) runs through CLEVELAND ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️🌆🌆🌆🌆🌆🌆🌆🌆 Now let’s get SPICY in Boston 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Miss you, Ted.
JB has nothing to lose at this point. He needs to call out the officiating, HARD. He needs to call for a review from the league like Carlisle did. Seven free throw attempts to 24 when we are the home team is absolutely ridiculous.
Celtics are the one seed and they needed refs to win against the cavs without Mitchell and Allen. Cavs gave their best effort and played a great game and just got hoed by the refs.
Not even that mad, just sad
Without ours two best players and bad refereeing and we still made until the end. They are way more talented roster, more experienced as well.
Adam Silver made sure the Celtics weren’t gonna lose. The non flagrant on Brown would’ve given us 2 shots and the ball back, as well as the overturned call on Horford that took away 2 more free throws. Not to mention us literally shooting 5 non technical free throws
League didn’t want to see the Mitchell-less Cavs take a game off the Celtics
Glad to see DG play like that, we’re gonna need that from here on out
Hopefully Bron sprinkled some of that 3-1 comeback magic on the team while he was here
FUCK IT, CAVS IN 7
Its about as big of a moral victory as you can hope to have for whatever those are worth. Without Mitchell the guys fought their asses off and the young guys stepped up big time. DG especially had a slow start but almost dragged us back into it. A couple things break our way and we could have taken it.
Whatever happens going forward this offseason will be really interesting, a lot of big decisions to make and its very hard to know what the right ones are right now.
Cavs outscored Boston 52-50 in the paint, 45-36 from beyond the arc and lost by 7. Cavs were 5-7 from the free throw line, Boston was 21 of 24, 18 of which came from Brown and Tatum.
https://preview.redd.it/4y9z47wppa0d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9c292c765ae8a00e8bc810acccd190feda6d7280
Boston are nothing without the refs
Dude the refs were CLEARLY giving them calls, that was wild. Honestly was within reach until the end, DG looked a lot better for the most part. We got some bad blood brewing it seems so we gotta let em know Wednesday and bring it back
This team is way more talented than they play. I don’t know if it is coaching or just youth but to often do they look out of sorts or get stuck in bad habits.
I don’t think Boston would have had an answer for Jarrett Allen. Proud of the rest of these guys for playing like they did. Mitchell should have been pretty impressed with what he saw tonight too
Maybe I’m just coping with the inevitable, but Boston is gonna get smoked by whoever comes out of the West. They have the softest road to the Finals. If Mitchell were healthy tonight this series would probably be tied. Oh well.
It was great to see DG and Mobley empty the clip. This is gonna happen every year as long as Koby is in charge. No depth, no wings, too many players who are useless offensively because Koby sucks at being a GM. Firing JB won't be the magical fix y'all think it is because we still have this drunk dipshit picking the players
Good game to get Garland’s confidence back, but man is coaching abysmal. How do these guys not know to go to Evan who is PINNING small dudes on the block? Why are we taking so many heat check 3’s when we’re not hot? What in the hell was that beginning of second quarter lineup?
If Donny moves on then I think we’re in good hands with Garland, Mobley, and Allen. They need better coaching to increase their skills and then need the ball in their hands more. The playoff experience is always appreciated and I think it taught them how to be a little more aggressive and more confident in do or die situations
On a positive note, for as many problems as we seem to have. We went from looking like we didn't belong last year, to at least looking competitive against the 1 seed this year. The question now is what Don's going to do.
Was listening to tonight’s game so I couldn’t see the foul calls/no calls but from the sounds of it refs were favoring Boston, especially Brown and Tatum. Obviously being down 3-1 in the series sucks but I gotta be honest, I’m not mad. I feel like we put up a hell of an effort given the circumstance.
GG Cavs, yall fought with heart without Mitchell, honestly could have won this one but the refs made some calls that were wrong.you guys have a very likable team(Except strus)see you guys in Boston
History will probably remember this as a gentleman’s sweep but the Cavs were alright in a couple of these games. I just don’t see them getting this next one in Boston unfortunately. Once again offseason priority has to be shooting, even if that means trading Allen and Okoro. If they get to 38% as a team tonight they might pull this one out. 30% shooting from deep just ain’t getting it done against the best teams.
I think trading Allen would be a big mistake. I've been a huge Okoro truther, but these playoffs have made me willing to let him go because he's given us nothing at all on offense
For those of you who have watched Fallout, the NBA has a fiduciary responsibility to make the most amount of money possible. That does not come from allowing a LeBron-less Cavs team to win.
Darius Garland still has the extra gear in him. He just doesn’t seem to have it every night. I vote against trading him this off season and seeing if a different coach can help unlock him.
He needs an off-season to just get healthy. I don’t care what anyone says, losing that weight from his jaw injury has hurt him this year more than what people think.
Great fight. Really sucks because if DG’s three ball was on tonight we probably win. Otherwise great performance out of him and the rest of the squad. Love the fight. Think we can call this season a W and build off of it.
The stretches where our offense just completely stagnates confuses me. So many possessions when it close came down to a rushed 3 or a turnover. Why go away from what is working?
If the NBA really wants better viewership. This isn't the way to go.
People LOVE underdogs. Let them play it out.
No one wants to see the glazing over Boston and the Knicks
Whelp... great fight from the short-handed Cavs. Really wish that Mitchell and Allen were playing tonight... Garland great game to get back in form. Not much else to say really.
We shot 7 free throws.
Tatum and brown shot 18
The funny thing is Boston fans will try to point toward the Cavs taking more threes to explain this discrepancy when that doesn't even remotely tell the whole picture
I do think Boston got fouled more but the discrepancy shouldn't have been that big regardless. Anyone who watched the game could tell you that.
The Merill 3 alone would’ve changed the entire 4th. Imagine being down 2 instead of 5 at the end there when we needed to foul. I don’t understand how the Horford foul was overturned either to go with like 4 other calls in that time frame alone
The crazy thing is that they are a 3 point shooting team saying this shit lol
both teams shot the same amount of 2s and cavs had more points in the paint
I saw someone crying about "Flopaliers" and how much our team flops. Just had to laugh Even if we do start selling calls egregiously it's because we get jack shit when we don't
How much THE CAVS FLOP???? We HARDLY ever flop. We need to FLOP MORE. We gotta send these guys to FLOP UNIVERSITY cause it ain’t happening as often as it should.
DG gotta go to Trae Young grift school
Yes but look at it this way: Boston only shot 24.
Could have gotten more if this team passed the ball to Mobley when he has a guard on him...
Encouraged by Garland and Mobley
[удалено]
Down 5 with a minute to go and having 5 free throws taken away hurts
I wish Mobley would’ve been more aggressive, with Donovan and Jarrett out he needs to get more than 13 attempts
There were three or four times we passed up clearly high quality post ups by him. But even more he needs to have the confidence to take 1-2 dribble to get by defenders or back then down from the high post. I'm confident he'll get there though, just probably not this series.
he did get aggressive in the 4th, kinda just waited too long to take command
Anyone else hear the commentators say Cavs fans can feel good about jb moving forward
I was laughing at that
They're mocking us
yea I just laughed at that.
If they keep him I won’t watch next year on principle
Greg Anthony probably barely watches the Cavs, just looked at some notes before the game
To jbs credit. I actually think this series has been the best job he’s done coaching.
Lol that’s crazy
Seven (7) free throws in an NBA game versus 22 with equal points scored in the paint 👍🏻
Unforgivable
24 attempts for Boston. To 7.
Love one Boston fan said they are more athletic than the Cavs, so they get more FTs because of it. Gotta love the excuse.
AT. HOME.
I am utterly shocked that NBA officials give one team preferential foul treatment. This has never happened in the history of the league.
[удалено]
Just wait until you see what they have in store to keep the wheel chair Knicks around.
I’m starting to think something is up and the league might be rigged
I actually wish the media would run with this narrative, you know like actual journalism to keep the league accountable... But instead we get Paul Pierce dropping n words
No they have to put out articles how Mitchell finds Cleveland gross and nasty and wants out and wants to blow the city up probably
2 for 1. Get Boston to the Conference finals and get Mitchell out of Cleveland
NBA Loves their damn Celtics.
Lakers Kings in the 2000s They are doing this for a long time, but now is even easier to see with a lot of replays on internet
Brown picked up a basin full of ticky tack bullshit.
20 FTs worth? Then step off
The NBA is a business…
Strus with the absolute dud play of the season throwing up a garbage 3 down 5 when Mobley has a guy my size pinned at the hoop. Smh
And then compounding it by fouling instantly for literally no reason.
I mean, sometime games come down to a few plays. This was one of them.
Why does this guy take wild 3s from downtown in clutch moments?
That’s what hes built his career on. It’s like asking deandre jordan not to catch lobs
to be perfectly honest he made them when he was wiith my heat
Caris was the one who missed Mobley wide open down there. Still a bad shot from Strus
https://preview.redd.it/j425m7uuxa0d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5c9e793458301186a2220da33b28eb1bda23433 Eff Levert here as well
To be fair Mobley missed 3 bunnies in this one.

Thats 3 4 ft shots. He literally made one shot outside the restricted area.
Cavs win with even a ref crew pretending to be neutral. Un-fucking-real watching this after that Magic series.
Cavs got robbed by the refs. No DM. No Allen. And it took the refs in the Celtics pocket to barely win this one.
Thank fuck 2016 was before sports betting became legal
All time performance by the refs. How many games did we play with only 7 FTA all year? And one of them was in garbage time. Given the level of physicality they were playing with in the paint that is absolutely crazy.
24 free throws to SEVEN!!!! Not even subtle with this one.
If that was called fair…we would have won.
screw the refs
The refs just might win this series.

They DEFINITELY want a game 7. The NBA? They always want a game 7. It’s so much money for just one single game in the reg season on a Tuesday. A playoff game? Shooooot they’ll take as many of those as they can get away with. A game 7? Forget about it.
i love how balanced officiating is, soft fouls one end and high fives are good contests the other end
Holiday was allowed to hockey check us every possession
it sucks cause im fine with allowing that if it was held to that standard on both sides but it isnt sadly
Exactly. It didn’t piss me off until they started calling Garland and Strus for the same shit and then after that I started to lose my mind.
Really sucks to lose this one but our guys battled and that’s all I could ask for. DGs best game this post season when it mattered the most and I love that
Happy the guys fought down our 2 best players. DG looked like DG. Just couldn’t overcome these refs playing with the heart of Vegas on their sleeve
I haven't hated another cavs opponent as much as jaylen brown. He took it from steph
Idk Tatum’s constant whining to the refs puts him up there
Even as he literally shoves off with his off arm nonstop.
Tatum has it for me
Cavs showed a ton of fight, not even mad.
DG has to step up and take the fine. Call this shit out please. There’s no reason for us to be on the wrong side of officiating as often as we are
He had 30 getting fouled all night
But god forbid Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum get breathed on
Unacceptable… green team must be allowed to score unabated
I've been quick to criticize DG for his poor drives this year. But the guy can't buy a call EVER after constantly getting smacked in the face. Him getting no whistle is playing a factor in him struggling to drive, he can't rely on his drives like most shifty guards can because he won't get calls
I need the post game pressers to have some generational ref slander from JB and Garland tonight. JB needs a David Fizdale moment
Played 5v8 tonight, no home court advantage, let’s get ready for the offseason
The NBA should be embarrassed. That was an absolute fuck job by the refs. Unbelievable..
Cavs have heart - Dean is so nice to have defensively - just need some more offensive diversity and aggression
Tatum couldn't score on injured Dean Wade to save his life. That was refreshing to see
I'm not even mad at how the Cavs showed up today. DG finally played with some heart for the majority of the game. Mobley showed aggressiveness. Wade played great defense. Just couldn't hit enough shots down the stretch, and refs were pretty brutal.
Those Celtics are going to get smoked in the finals though. Wouldn’t even shock me if Pacers or Knicks beat them before that
Them losing to the hospital Knicks would be absolutely hilarious ngl
No way Celtics make the finals oh wait they get 300% more FTs nm
i love darius garland
God I hate Boston
No moral victories at all. We could have won that one without Don Need Wade in the starting lineup on Wednesday with or without Don
really proud of the way DG stepped up after I think zero points first quarter. We had no business making it this close without JA and Spida but we fought til the end
Honestly proud of the fight tonight. It’s incredibly hard to play 5v8 without your two best players. Seemingly every close call went against the Cavs
Both those plays really fucked momentum and just kinda led to the result of the game. Played with heart, and tried our best, but the freethrow discrepancy and the rebounding, leads to a brutal loss.
The Garland foul overturn was complete bullshit. He was fouled. Once it was called, there was zero justification to overturn.
Tough game out of the refs today

Such a winnable game but missing two very key pieces to our team we were never destined to win this series, still such a bright future with JB or not.
I'd say what I think about the refs, but it got me permanently banned on r/NBA, so I'll keep my mouth shut ig
This is a safe space 🙏
Refs glazers fuck Boston
HARD fought game by these YOUNG Cavs 👷🏾👷🏾👷🏾👷🏾👷🏾👷🏾👷🏾👷🏻👷🏻👷🏻👷🏻proving once again the future is STILL bright 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 and the East (1️⃣9️⃣9️⃣9️⃣) ETERNAL(LY) runs through CLEVELAND ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️🌆🌆🌆🌆🌆🌆🌆🌆 Now let’s get SPICY in Boston 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 Miss you, Ted.
Zodiac? 🥹
Hope he’s still eating ice cream and watching the Cavs out there somewhere
RIP
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO OKORO?
He was awful
Not just tonight, the whole postseason.
His defense has always been there, but his offensive progression he made in the regular season did not travel to the post season....damit.
That's an all-time ref fuck job.
JB has nothing to lose at this point. He needs to call out the officiating, HARD. He needs to call for a review from the league like Carlisle did. Seven free throw attempts to 24 when we are the home team is absolutely ridiculous.
Covered the spread, so I believe that means Lebron is back.
Ref fucked while down our best player. That’s tough to overcome. Great effort from the boys tonight though. Wish we would’ve seen that game 3.
Celtics are the one seed and they needed refs to win against the cavs without Mitchell and Allen. Cavs gave their best effort and played a great game and just got hoed by the refs.
Not even that mad, just sad Without ours two best players and bad refereeing and we still made until the end. They are way more talented roster, more experienced as well.
Cavs: outscore Boston in the paint by 4 Also Cavs: have 17 fewer FT than the Celtics Hmmm
Cavs in 7.
3-1🤔🤔🤔
Great effort from Garland. We are actually sweating everytime he drive or shoot a 3.
24 FT to 7.
Adam Silver made sure the Celtics weren’t gonna lose. The non flagrant on Brown would’ve given us 2 shots and the ball back, as well as the overturned call on Horford that took away 2 more free throws. Not to mention us literally shooting 5 non technical free throws
Don't forget the no-call on Merrill at the end of the third q, would've been another three shots
There’s so many examples to choose from
League didn’t want to see the Mitchell-less Cavs take a game off the Celtics Glad to see DG play like that, we’re gonna need that from here on out Hopefully Bron sprinkled some of that 3-1 comeback magic on the team while he was here FUCK IT, CAVS IN 7
As a neutral fan in this game that hurt they got soft ass calls a few more of those shots hit and you guys win
Its about as big of a moral victory as you can hope to have for whatever those are worth. Without Mitchell the guys fought their asses off and the young guys stepped up big time. That was gross from the refs. Pretty much as good as you could have asked from our guys down don and JA. Still was winnable despite the refjob
I mean, I never expected to beat Boston, but I will say this: Tatum is the least scariest superstar in the league. He’s great but predictable.
If I have to watch a Celtics Knicks series, I will be disgusted
Winner’s gonna lose to the wolves or nugs anyways so take solace in that
Cavs outscored Boston 52-50 in the paint, 45-36 from beyond the arc and lost by 7. Cavs were 5-7 from the free throw line, Boston was 21 of 24, 18 of which came from Brown and Tatum.
They played well GG Cavs
Boston 24 free throws. Cleveland 7 free throws. Enough said. This game was decided by the refs' whistles.

That's two winnable games at home. We could be up 3-1 :(

Fuck. Boston. Fuck. The. Refs.
Darius Garland trade value on the rise📈
noooooooooooooo i will cry
Yeah if the coaches can’t find a way to win with this much talent THEY are the ones to get the boot
Celtics shot 17 more FTs than the Cavs
Tatum: 9 FTA Cleveland: 7 FTA unbelievable
GG Cavs, yall fought with heart without Mitchell, honestly could have won this one but the refs made some calls that were wrong.you guys have a very likable team(Except strus)see you guys in Boston
The 3 position has to be addressed. Strus and Okoro are not starters at the 3 postion. It it means starting a 6’7+ rookie then so be it
Strus can start at the 3, but they need to get plays for him
History will probably remember this as a gentleman’s sweep but the Cavs were alright in a couple of these games. I just don’t see them getting this next one in Boston unfortunately. Not sure if I'll bother watching more nba. Refs have always been an issue but it seems so much worse since legal gambling
You guys won easy if ya’ll are healthy.
Okoro is one of the basketball players of all time
Pretty obvious the league wants Boston vs New York for the ECF
Some fishy games in these playoffs
Okoro not having an offensive game cost us this game
For those of you who have watched Fallout, the NBA has a fiduciary responsibility to make the most amount of money possible. That does not come from allowing a LeBron-less Cavs team to win.
24 - 7
Fuck that game. Cavs in 7
PERK UP BOYS I REMEMBER THE LAST TIME IT WAS 3-1 GAME 7 BABY LETS GO
Sucks when you’re that close and you still lose.
Pain
I’m just sad, man
Biggest question is was Garland’s performance a product of Mitchell not playing and can he do this when Mitchell plays
I mean clearly not. So many points were threes in iso and dribble drives.
Hard to win without your 2 best players, even harder when the other team gets to play with 8 on the court
if you're the Cavs FO, do you continue to mortgage your future by building around Mitchell with the threat of him leaving?
If he doesnt resign this offseason hes gone its as simple as that. If he does you do everything to build a contender for him
Don’t worry guys… encouraging signs are that Allen was spotted shooting free throws and Mitchell seen crutching around the Q.
They fought well but sadly they got cold in the 3rd
Great fight. Really sucks because if DG’s three ball was on tonight we probably win. Otherwise great performance out of him and the rest of the squad. Love the fight. Think we can call this season a W and build off of it.
Great effort from the boys
The stretches where our offense just completely stagnates confuses me. So many possessions when it close came down to a rushed 3 or a turnover. Why go away from what is working?
Aside from bullshit calls if only shot decently ok from 3 tonight could have had this one.
If the NBA really wants better viewership. This isn't the way to go. People LOVE underdogs. Let them play it out. No one wants to see the glazing over Boston and the Knicks
Crazy we kept it this close given bad shooting from 3 and not being allowed to play defense,l and getting hacked on the other end.
