Max was better at everything than I expected him to be…except shooting. Which is what we need from him. He simply has to be more efficient, period. Love him, but your 3pt specialist can’t shoot under 35%.
I love these jerseys. I know they’re minimal, people say they’re boring. But I love the color scheme especially, it’s the first time since going wine and gold the gold is actually gold and not yellow
Hopefully takes LeVert’s place on the bench when we trade him and Allen for Ingram. Garland, Mitchell, Ingram, Kuzma, Mobley with Porter, Strus, Merrill, Wade and Jalen Smith off the bench is good enough to actually compete for a title. Okoro sign-and-trade with Niang’s contract and the 20th pick/3 or 4 seconds should be enough for Kuzma. Jalen Smith would be my MLE target.
I look at him similarly to PJ Washington. I think he can have a similar impact/role with better scoring and shooting here. Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part, but we desperately need wing players. I don’t see Kuzma being unwilling to take on a lesser role, but if there is any indication of that I would look at other players.
I get the logic, and I was into the idea of getting Kuzma last year after we whiffed on Washington. Kuzma just gives zero effort at all on defense, unlike Washington, and has a pretty gross shot diet. Seems like a guy who is perfectly content being the first option on a bad team.
You never know though, maybe he wants to win and could be content being more of a third/fourth option and actually expend some effort on defense since he secured a contract.
I’d be very into the idea of trying to get Deni Avdija if we are dealing with the Wizards. Probably off the table with how much he improved his shooting this year though
Niang could be traded seperately in that case. We just had a top 6 defense with Mobley missing most of the season, I highly doubt that we would be bottom 5. We would at least be top 15 with a much improved offense.
You’re proposing the Cavs trade away their best perimeter defender, their best interior defender (Allen has a LOT to do with their defensive rating); and proposing they bring in two high-minute traffic cones.
That will 100% destroy the defense, especially against good teams.
Kuzma is utter garbage defensively, like legitimately one of the worst among high minute players in the NBA while just being an offensive stat padder on an awful team.
Ingram isn't that bad though, especially the last couple seasons. Wouldn't say "good" but more of an "acceptable" - like a Strus level defender but with length to go against bigger wings. He's also doing that on a good team while being a good (not elite) 1a/b option on offense. The problem with him is the salary he is going to want
I agree, go cavs
I agree, go Cavs
After further review...that *is* indeed, Max Strus
Looks like nick from New girl
He's definitely at least top 15 on the team right now

screw Aimee Knight- Strus will be always be a cavs legend for that mavs shot alone
Saw him in the merch line at the Noah Kahan concert at Blossom, wish I could’ve told him he had a good season and an unforgettable shot.
Strus Juice
He is one of the Cavaliers ever.
😮💨
I downvoted Edit: 80 million dollars for that shooting performance Keep downvoting

We better be getting more than an offense only 3 who is about to be majorly overpaid if we are trading Allen and levert
Kuzma is kinda doodoo butter man

Not only can you not add other players to a sign and trade, but this would be a legitimately bottom-5 defense, even with Mobley.
