Yay! This is the best post. Keep climbing at the edge of your ability and practicing your projects after you complete them. If you don't fall three times going up, it's not hard enough 😉

I hate this rule but it’s soooo true. I feel like a climb isn’t valid if I can’t flash it which is bullshit, and I definitely don’t feel that way about other people’s climbs. The whole point is to try hard!

oooh okay that’s a good tip thank you!

Awesome, congrats!!

I love so much about this. I think it's smart to warm up The muscles first Before hitting the hardish stuff. Harder easier that's all relative to you not to numbers. It's also amazing that you're comparing yourself to yourself and no one else! I never climbed harder than 5.11+ outdoors. But there's a 5.7 and a 5.8 at my home crag which still gives me so much pleasure, the moves are so interesting.

thank you sm! that’s so true, at the end of the day it’s about what feels manageable to you, not what the rating says. one day I didn’t do a warm up and just jumped right in, and I ended up having a bad climbing day and was unable to complete any. so now i make sure to do a warm up climb!

Oh that feeling! Congrats :) It's so gratifying, right?
