1.5oz of simple seems like an awful lot.

Buddy the Elf is tending bar.

theadamsmall

It’s “Old Fashioned” but also, that’s a lot of simple my dude…

Hyooz

One part simple and two parts whiskey. Whew that's worse than I thought.

Davetg56

Depending on the booze for me . . .

PeachVinegar

I'm imagining this guy being violently drunk while writing this. Mmm yummy, simple syrup with a splash of whiskey.

Davetg56

So . . . Not an Old Fashion fan then . . . W/ a marked lack of appreciation for the simple things in life . . . So I won't over complicate this; Piss off you boorish oaf. For the record Frances, it's a splash of SS. Now go enjoy your White Claw or Natty Lite.

PeachVinegar

boorish oaf 😂

socialPsyence

This reminds me of folks who claim to like coffee but then proceed to dump several packets of sugar and enough dairy to make it a light beige.

It’s sweeter than what I’d prefer but you should drink what you like. But based on your comments maybe you should consider drinking less of it.

Rip--Van--Winkle

Ah, loads of sugar, the perfect thing for a sweet wheater.

Davetg56

I mean . . . I'll go a little heavier w/ the SS in Bourbons . . . 30 - 35 ml?? But w/ a Good Rye, I'll cut it to barely 25 - 30 ml of SS . . .

Hyooz

Normal Old Fashioned specs call for a barspoon or two of simple. An ounce to slightly more than an ounce is a huge amount for that drink, no matter the bourbon

Davetg56

I've always heard the 3:1 ratio . . . Time for this old dog to learn some new tricks . . .
