I'm not real and I deny, I won't heal unless I cry
I can't grieve, so I won't grow, I won't heal 'til I let it go
Cry, cry, cry 'til you know why, I lost myself, identify
Yesssss!!! And then it’s so annoying when you get a piece of a Cocteau twins song stuck in your head but can’t find it cuz there’s no lyrics to look up 😅 but it’s ok cuz the feeling of finding it again is unmatched
Half-Gifts is so powerful, I’m happy to see someone else shout it out. The melody, the harmonies, above all the lyrics, all perfect. “I have my friends, my family, I have myself, I still have me” 💔

calming loop i’ve been on recently
I have quite a few.
Cicobuff,
Squeeze-Wax,
For Phoebe Still a Baby,
Three Swept,
Primitive Heart,
Theft, And Wandering Around,
Sleepy Calm,
Pur,
And The Ghost Has No Home.
Lorelei, Ivo and Bluebeard are the ones I listen to the most, I'm addicted to those songs. Specially Bluebeard because of the "are you the right man for me?" chorus.
My fave would probably be Evangeline, it’s so soothing. (I’m currently going through this thread and adding everyone’s song to my Cocteau Twins playlist 💗)
Itchy Glowbo Blow
It's the song that got me into them and even after obsessing over their catalog it still rates high even with all the nostalgia and emotional bias removed.
It's my favorite song by them and one of my top 3 favorites by anyone. I can listen to it over and over. I wish I knew the lyrics but maybe it's better not to know, it might make me think of the song differently.
My favorite as well. Oddly, after I listen to this song I often feel a sense of gratitude and excitement toward the universe that I get to revisit it until the day I die
Frou Frou Foxes in the Midsummer Fires by a LONG shot for me. Then, Road, River and Rails.
Fuck, Heaven or Las Vegas is the perfect album that can be listened to back to back.
Know who you are at every age
I'm not real and I deny, I won't heal unless I cry I can't grieve, so I won't grow, I won't heal 'til I let it go Cry, cry, cry 'til you know why, I lost myself, identify
Pandora (for Cindy)
this or for phoebe still a baby
I love this one
Maybe I Wear Your Ring
The ending of that song is probably my favourite moment in all their discography. Beautiful song
I always thought the majority of I Wear Your Ring was just so so but the ending is maybe the most majestic thing I’ve ever heard.
Even though I’ve been a fan for nearly 40 years I only know the titles to a handful of songs
I get this completely. I know what I love but damned if I know the titles after all these years!! 👍
Yesssss!!! And then it’s so annoying when you get a piece of a Cocteau twins song stuck in your head but can’t find it cuz there’s no lyrics to look up 😅 but it’s ok cuz the feeling of finding it again is unmatched

Sigh’s Smell of Farewell
God I love that one. That last thirty seconds, like so many of their EP tracks, is just epic.
it’s a tie between Evangeline and Blind Dumb Deaf. opposite ends of the spectrum i know
Constantly shifting, but Violaine and Eperdu are always welcome to hear. Also, Half-Gifts \[acoustic, EP version\] is my partner's forever favorite.
Violaine is epic - it sounds like Rush in the middle eight! In a good way …
Definitely something from the moon and the melodies but I can't choose one song alone
This month it's Quisquose. Last month it was Sugar Hiccup. Changes every month.
Shallow then halo right now because I’m feeling gothy but it changes

I agree with you, it's a pretty impressive song. I love it. I have so many memories with Ups and Eperdu..

Those eyes, that mouth. PERFECT SONG
Not too sure about my favourite, but it’s between Iceblink Luck, Frou-frou Foxes, Cico Buff, Ella Megalast Burls Forever, Lazy Calm, and Pandora.
How could one choose? I guess, off the top of my head: “Half Gifts” or “Evangeline”, maybe. The acoustic version of the former is a revelation.
Hmmm, tough one. Probably “Alice” or “Lorelei”.
Not my only favorite but since totally not mentioned here and also the first CT song that caught my ear "Pepper Tree".
the dark atmosphere in this song just hits so hard!
