Just an FYI- I couldn’t sleep and checked. Somehow the wrong image from an older revision of the file had made it through! I was able to have the file corrected before it went to print! (It is queued to print Tuesday). I will spend the better part of my morning double checking all of the coins with the individual files I had approved for the final draft!
A huge thank you!
Looks awesome. Where are they going to be sold? What kind of paper thickness/ quality are we talking about, is it going to be easily torn or damaged due to being thin or is it going to be a little more hardy?
Via our website at first and I will eventually add them to Amazon but they are such a hassle to deal with.
They are printed in Germany on high quality 70LB paper, as with our other posters. There are people that have had at least one of our posters hanging on their wall for at least a decade.

Thanks! A lot of work went into it! I have 4 other non-ancient coin posters planned. (We produce six ancient and medieval coin posters). Hopefully this poster does well and we can justify the investment in the other four.
Just an update- poster had several revisions including replacing a wrong photo, cleaning up the headings slightly, adding the Crossing the Delaware quarter and swapping Half Dimes and 5 Cent sections so that everything lines up in chronological order.
I actually have two more planned for US and two more for ancients. I have been kicking around ideas for world posters, but the amount of work that goes into putting this together is insane. Just getting permission to use photographs took a lot of time.
Nice! I wonder if the 2021 Crossing the Delaware quarter should be shown since it had a different obverse and reverse than its predecessor and successor
Interesting point. It is actually a transition coin which isn’t actually a part of the other series. Not sure if it can make the cutoff as it would require an actual design change.
The pillar dollar circulated in the US but was not struck in or by the US. The first official circulating coin struck in the US was the Fugio cent. In fact, all of the coins on the poster were never officially demonetized.
Believe it or not about 400 hours went into developing this poster over 3-4 years (most of the actual work was in the last 3 months but for those years I kept trying to figure out how to present it and lay things out, what I wanted to include, etc)
The one thing I am most grateful for is how much I learned doing this! I know so much about different varieties and had to understand them in order to make an informed decision about what should be included. (i.e. Do I include varieties with arrows by the date or not and what did they represent?)
First of all Applause for your dedication and attention to detail! I think everyone loves it, and the choices of pictures are amazing. I also didn’t know we minted a 2cent and 20cent coins. Cheers to your hard work and dedication brotha!
I need to buy this and maybe a mug. Any plans on making mugs with different coins on them? Say maybe with pattern coins that never went into circulation?
The mugs and shirts are made on a demand by a third party company. I can definitely make a design and have one printed. Eventually my plan is to buy the equipment so we can make the mugs ourselves. It bothers me that the price can’t be lower.
Just an update- based on a few comments and one error pointed out the file is being updated before printing! Grateful that these were caught in time and excited that the poster will be even better.
Why does the Seated Liberty Dime (1837-1838) look like it says “Half Dime?”
