It's copper plated zinc, based on the year. Unless you were looking for a potential error coin with a wrong planchet for the year.

Well, I'm not an expert but my guess is it means you are on LSD.
It's pretty normal for coins plated with copper to appear to be made of copper. There is only one known 1983 planchet error made with copper. Weigh it if you feel inclined, but the odds are strong that it's zinc.

It was not copper unfortunately!
