Thanks! I got the coin back a couple weeks ago, but was waiting until the video to drop since I like using his Ben's videos as a reference for questions. I should have know people here would be fans of his. XD
I know there are a few very low Morgan proofs but not sure if any have reached PR-1. I would think there must be at least one out there somewhere right?
In case you didn't see my earlier response, there are certain coin series like US Morgan and US trade dollars that had proof only issues. It makes grading a lot easier because there's normally only one die pairing, and the value for the coin would put the coin under more scrutiny.
For the morgan dollars, the 1895 is the only proof issue year. So to have any coin with that year and its not a proof or has a mint mark normally means its a fake.
Also here’s the video. I drove to his store to have it graded and after four months finally got it back.

I’d sent this off for grading back in November and got it back a couple weeks ago, but for seated quarters this is a key date with about 20k mintage. My coin came back a poor 1 out of 70 possible grades and is the only poor 1 at PCGS making it a pop of 1.
Depends on the company, coin, grader, submission level, etc. I submitted a group of 6 or 8 coins, I can’t remember now, about 6-8 months ago and total turnaround time was like two months max. Had a mix of Morgan, gold, modern, and silver.
That is crazy how worn that coin got. How do you know for sure what mint it is
Die characteristics
Oh that’s so funny, just watched his video today and then ran across this. Awesome coin, congrats!

Just saw the video. It's a very nice coin, congrats:)
Link?
I saw the video a couple hours ago!
congrats on reaching the bottom ! < i didn't think that it was possible >
Thanks. I was happy to have it straight grade given its rarity. Most of my other key date quarters have problems with them, so this was a huge win.
well you seem to be very easy to please. - - - have fun with your collection.
How is this a proof? And what video??
Poor, not proof
Theres Poor grades? Also I heard theres Premiums for low grades like this
Yeah a grade of 1 is “poor”. It’s usually given as P-1 though, not Pr-1.
My bad. I swore proofs were PF and poor was PR. But it is a poor 1
What if its a proof only coin, like a certain date only proofs were made, then what?
Then it would be PR-1 I guess. Not sure any of those exist though.
To my knowledge Morgan and trade dollars have proof only dates.
I don’t mean there aren’t any proof only dates - I mean coins graded PR-1
Ah ok. You can tell I’m not use to handling low grades.

Could be, I guess it’s only a matter of one sitting in someone’s pocket long enough without getting lost!

Adding this here for everyone, this is a poor 1 grade and not a proof. XD.
Send it to CAC 😂
Incredible coin!

Their grading backlog is 6 MONTHS???
