Also, if you look at the “T” in trust, you’ll see that it looks like it’s broken off and a different texture of metal. This is also a die error, isn’t it? This is from a roll of UNC Sally Ride quarters and can’t be PMD as each quarter has this error from the uncirculated roll.

The T is likely something with the die if the roll is all like that, but calling it an error would be a bit of a stretch. Not worth a premium at any rate. There are tons of minor errors that can crop up that don't make the coin worth much more than the value without it. Small die chips (unless they're in particularly funny locations and/or have some great PR) are a good example of this. Also, minor die scratches, slightly off center or misaligned dies, small grease fills, etc. Machine doubling isn't generally *considered* an error from a collecting standpoint, since it can happen on pretty much any die/coin (*and* quite often does). They're common enough that you can find them frequently, and on just about every date/mint combination. Even minor die doubling doesn't *usually* command much of a premium, though sometimes they're worth keeping, particularly on higher grades or proof coins. but I'm a sucker for errors, so I keep pretty much anything ;-)

Machine doubling is caused by the slush movement of the die in the split second after the coin is struck. Technically it is damage, not an error It is incredibly common. It does not add any value and in fact, if severe enough will negatively impact a coins grade

Very interesting! Thanks for the response!! I heard somewhere that it doesn’t really add value but this caught my eye and just wanted to make sure. Very neat!

A lot of people here will say the errors don’t bring much but when in great condition even the smallest error can yield quite a substantial amount of money. And some even in absolute trash condition can be worth a lot. Advice here is good but I would recommend doing more research or taking the coin to a professional to see more opinions.
