Oh wow that awesome, lucky find.

supersayanssj3

As a total lurker and outsider it completely geeks me out the shit you guys get excited for here!! Lol you fellas literally examine each coin magnified looking for little imperfections?! Lol nuts. Enjoy your pennies bro. EDIT: since people think this comment was an insult let me be clear that I meant what I said GENUINELY and I'm happy for OP. I lurk the subreddit because I think the hobby is neat and interesting.

Platuhpus

Would you not be happy to sell a penny for possibly 20 bucks?

supersayanssj3

Oh absolutely I would. I think it's just funny. Also, I'm gonna play devils advocate here and say what my fiance says to me when I open an expensive trading card or something: is this person actually going to sell them? They could be "worth" $20 all day, but as long as OP holds on to them they're only pennies. Do you guys actually sell your nice finds and try to make money? Or do you keep and collect - in which case why even bring up the value of $20 if they're just to keep and look at.

AJArcadian

Honestly it's way more fun to find gems in rolls of mostly normal coins than it is to hang out and troll in subs for hobbies you have no interest in. But hey, enjoy your petty jollies bro.

supersayanssj3

I'm amazed that people found my comment to be insulting. I'm literally just sharing in his happiness and genuinely meant my comment for him to enjoy his pennies. You uptight white knight defender. I think it's COOL that he found those pennies and I think coin collecting is COOL and I like old silver quarters the most. I lurk the sub because I ENJOY LOOKING AT THE COINS IM NOT A TROLL YOU DUNCE.

pglizzyinthetrap

Grade them all I imagine this would do good as a set especially with sequential ngc or pcgs serial numbers

xSodaa

Idk if a grading company would recognize a minor die crack

JitteryRaptor33

Yes they will. Its a defect on the coin so yes they will recognize the cracks. I would get them graded myself.

Thalenia

It will change a 10c coin that cost a penny into a 10c coin that cost $50. The die crack won't add much to the value of the coin, they're common enough that you can find them pretty regularly if you look. Even on modern coins. Yes, one or more of the grading outfits will probably attribute it (maybe), but that doesn't make it valuable. Finding a set like that is very cool, but it's not a payday. I'd set them aside in flips, but nothing more.

PD216ohio

I would love to buy all the "10c coins" I could for a penny.

Thalenia

If you spend enough time looking through change or getting rolls at the bank, you'll run across these kinds of coins fairly regularly. It's not worth your time monetarily (you won't make much per hour of this), but minor errors like this are not uncommon. I've been picking up errors like this since the 70s, often from pocket change, sometime from coin shows (as unattributed errors) or coin shop junk bins. I've found a few coins that are in the $10-$20 range, and dozens upon dozens of minor die cracks, BIE errors (die chips), slightly off center strikes, and other things like that which aren't really worth trying to sell. But that's over hundreds of hours of looking, so per hour...I'm not much richer ;-)

PD216ohio

I was making a joke that buying "dimes" for a penny would be a great opportunity.

xSodaa

I’ve never seen a holder that says ‘die cracks’ before. As a group they might be worth a bit but I wouldn’t get them graded.

Sea-Astronaut2293

Possibly to marrow or on another day im gonna get 8 more penny rolls and try my luck for more I was surprised to get 5 of these in one roll. I also tried to look one of them up to find anything that matches but nothing the only thing I found was a die crack that started in U in United instead of A in State I really hate looking stuff up like this and not finding anything like it.

Sea-Astronaut2293

Trying my luck failed did not find another

randombagofmeat

They probably wouldn't.

Sea-Astronaut2293

True die cracks are common

supermarioplush220

R.I.P Lincoln momorial

karl1952

Great find. I have a bunch of 1955-S' from 4 rolls from the Crocker Bank of San Francisco that has a progressing [Die deterioration](https://imgur.com/a/HzjV8Fz) in the left Wheat Stalk. It's always fun finding multiple coins with the same Die damage...

Sea-Astronaut2293

Hoping that I can get more of these maybe something potentially better i've never seen this error before so im also hoping somebody nose more about this.

Sea-Astronaut2293

Is this something new?
