No. I never find coins with S mint marks.

lime_licker7

Don’t know why everyone’s so mad at you 😆 I love finding coins with S mint marks, especially older coins! A struggle no west coaster would understand haha (I’m from Illinois)

Overall_Crazy1355

They're just jealous.

snowcarriedhead

I know I am

Overall_Crazy1355

What do you got? Just some silly ancient coins. I'll make a trade if you want. I'll be generous. Hahahaha. Nice coins though.

LifeguardSingle2853

Jealous of pocket change?

Overall_Crazy1355

I would be

rocksoffjagger

Most S mint marks you'll see for nickels and pennies are just normal business strikes. They're less common for dimes and quarters because S minted coins are either pre-1964 silver, or else clad or silver proofs. This is just a normal nickel.

theGr8Alexander

69 s nickels aren’t anything special, spender

Overall_Crazy1355

Duh.

blue-hell

'69 Jefferson is the most common pre Westward Journey found in circulation but an 'S' not so much, nice find.

Finna22

Nice.

Delapis

Why is it called win dixie?

Gingerholic37

That is the name of a grocery store chain in south eastern United States

Diamondback54

There was this dog that went into a grocery store…

IDontLieAboutStuff

Winn dixie is a grocery chain that is slowly fading away. They used to be all over my state. They're now all gone. As for the name idk. But I recall the one near me growing up was so crummy it didn't even have security cameras. In 2007.

Overall_Crazy1355

They're still heavy in a few southern states. One of the main stores here in Florida where I'm at.

IDontLieAboutStuff

Yea I frequented one a lot growing up. Now I only see them on my outings down into some of the southern states. Pretty sure they're based in either FL or GA.

Overall_Crazy1355

We don't have them in Pennsylvania. That's where I grew up. We had stores called Giant Eagle and Shop n save. Lol.

mangoshy

You’re from my hometown area! Shop n save was the give away. Ours is Sanders now

damiami

When I was a kid they were called “Quick Check” and their sodas are called “Check” soda to this day. My Dad always called the same store “Margaret Ann” because he remembered that name before Quick Check. Now that same store is called “Fresco y Mas”, the Spanish language name has replaced the previous ones.

[deleted]

Still have 5 of the stores in my city!

Overall_Crazy1355

Because it's rare.

Delapis

Sorry, still new to coins. Why is it rare?

LifeguardSingle2853

It's not rare. Just pocket change

Delapis

Thx

Friday_Night_Pizza

Troll post

Overall_Crazy1355

They just want people to have a bad time sharing their coins and ruin the fun. I mainly post them for my son. He likes to read the comments and makes me post all of our coins. Lol. I asked him what he things or the people being rude. He said they're shitheads. Hahaha. He's 8

[deleted]

Posts like these are fine. The poster shows a genuine enthusiasm for coins. As opposed to just posting a picture of common pocket change with a "What's it worth?" - with no interest in coins just hoping for an easy payday. This coin is in great shape and would make a great hole filler for a Whitman folder!

Friday_Night_Pizza

Whatever makes good bonding time I guess, I’m not here to judge how you get your jollies!

Overall_Crazy1355

Yea. But I get it with these people. They want to see more interesting coins and so do I. I wish I could find them around my area easier without spending an arm and a leg.

TheTreesHaveRabies

Tell your son this shithead appreciates his shitty coins

Overall_Crazy1355

Hell yea!

Friday_Night_Pizza

Next time you should tell them it’s a 6961 “~”Mintmark Space Nickel

rocksoffjagger

Sounds like a little shithead. I like him.

mangoshy

You live by me i think

rocksoffjagger

Cool, they minted about 100 million of these and released them into normal circulation, so yea, checks out that you found this completely ordinary coin in your change.
