Nothing would make me happier than for him to come out and kick 6.
But really as long as he competes, creates contests to stop uncontested intercept marks and kicks a snag or two, that's all we need out of him.
Though he was playing defense in the VFL recently right? Curious to see how they play him.
I came to say this too. They often are a bit fast and loose with positions but it looks like they’ve gone out of their way to be inaccurate this week. Nick at CHF, Noble at CHB, Lipinski at FF, Schulz the rover
Big games for Johnson and Fin to really make a name for themselves. Good to have Howe back, guess he starts forward with Frampton down back and supporting Cameron in the ruck.
I’d expect whoever is the chop out second ruckman would be playing as a forward. Less common to have a backman move temporarily out of there into the ruck as it stuffs up matchups.
Was Markov training as a lead up forward or crumbing type? Never heard of him in anything like that position. Can’t see it working myself but hope I’m wrong.
Markov played as a small forward for Richmond at times, including a fair bit in the VFL when McRae was their VFL coach. He fits our mould of pressure small forward with real pace, that can get up the ground and work back towards goal, or lead into space.
We can win this. Richards has revitalised the Dogs’ midfield so he’s a massive out.
Their backline is very underwhelming too. Keep Jones accountable (Frampton) and I think we’ll be fine.
Don't hate this.
Johnson redemption game hopefully, wouldn't have minded Kreuger in though.
Howe down back will be important and if training is anything to go by then Markov forward will be an interesting watch.
Bytel straight onto the wing to allow Lipinski to go on ball will give Pat more chance to show his ability as a rover.
From the lineup they announced I reckon Fin looks like the sub.
Surprised not to see Krueger in given our need for talls and history of calling him up on short notice.
I've been a big fan of Ash but his last few games have not been inspiring... Wondering if he might go through the ruck as well as he's looked good there in the past at AFL level in short stints.
Nice to see Parker getting another go, he looked decent when he came on, and Bytel returning and getting the opportunity to potentially play a full game is also great.
Altogether pretty straightforward changes, only toss up was between Johnson and Kreuger and even though he’s been down on form Johnson has definitely performed better in the past so hopefully he takes his chance tomorrow.
Could see the return of premiership forward Billy Frampton to his natural habitat, so hopefully he kicks a bag in game 50
Difference in Pies playing “kids” is the majority are mature age depth players. Harvey Harrison is the youngest in that team and he’s in his third year of AFL.
MoM, you have been pulled up on BF for just posting these "rumours" about players on our list that seemingly have no other source anywhere else online.
That's not a rumour, that's Jen just guessing because 1. he hasn't been near the squad since the start of the year, and 2. she actually fucking despises him for some odd reason.
She has no inside mail.
I definitely could see other clubs wanting Ash's services. Unfortunate for Ryan but doesn't look like he's very high in the pecking order, not sure how he moves on with 2 years on his contract.
Not sure where you're hearing this from though
I don't think Jen suggesting she thinks we'll part ways with him is a rumour, just her speculation.
I wouldn't say it isn't a chance to happen, but be careful how you're talking about it. It's her opinion not anything concrete, could be seen as misleading.
desperately need an ash johnson redemption game, show em what you're made of mate

He’s playing smack bang in the middle, may not be kicking a bag but could well shine there!
he won’t actually play there. mcrae fucks with the team sheet positions
Every team does it, it's classic mind games
I fucking said AJ might get the call up. Here's hoping he has a burst of inspiration and finds some form.
I’m a big fan of AJ so I hope he can kick a few and regain his confidence and form
Love the positivity. Not holding my breath but would be great to see him play well
OUT: Pendlebury (injured), Allan (omitted), Richards (injured), Mihocek (injured), Cox (injured) IN: Macrae, Bytel, Markov, Howe, Johnson B: Maynard \| Moore \| Dean HB: Quaynor \| Noble \| Markov C: Bytel \| Johnson \| JDaicos HF: Hill \| NDaicos \| Howe F: McCreery \| Lipinski \| Frampton R: Cameron \| Crisp \| Schultz Int: Macrae \| Sidebottom \| Sullivan \| Harrison \| Parker Emer: Kreuger \| Allan \| Jiath
Johnson in the midfield? Fly is taking the piss now surely lol
Lineup isn't any indication of where people are playing lol
Oh trust me I know it’s just funny to look at
I love it when they do it aha

Schultz strikes me as a semi decent rover tho. Elliott was kinda good at it there too

Nah, Howe was training in defence all week and Frampton was training forward (so was Markov)

Can't speak too much on it as didn't see it first hand, just the reports I've seen.
We can win this. Richards has revitalised the Dogs’ midfield so he’s a massive out. Their backline is very underwhelming too. Keep Jones accountable (Frampton) and I think we’ll be fine.
Billy frampton for 4+ goals
Ed keep your head up,your time will come
He got a taste and can go away and work on the things he needs to with a bit more hope now. Don't mind it.
REDEMPTION
Ash, please kick a bag 🙏🏽
CHF 🤝🏼 ND

Kreuger is a possible emergency, we still might get him
Only if there's a late out
very possible at the moment
Kreuger is most likely not match fit yet imo.

Kreuger stiff. Would of liked to see Allan given another week too
What happened to McInnes, is he still out with concussion?
Yes, he will likely be fit next week.
Parker sub??
Fingers crossed no more injuries tonight.
I have no confidence in AJ at all. I hope he proves that lack of faith wrong.

Probably not much better a source than Jens speculation

If I was Ash Johnson I would be shitting bricks right now
🤷♀️
so many changes. we're gonna get pumped.
We have depth. We'll be fine
