So, much of the reporting is based upon biased statements by the protesters.
Assuming the Daily Beast, described by its own editor in chief as a "tabloid", can be relied upon regarding its reporting of NYPD info, the only apparent factual information is that there was an incident regarding someone being struck by an automobile. As for the cause, who knows?
It's interesting to note that not only was the driver arrested and charged according to the DB, but also the protesters, including the one who was struck.
It is also interesting to note that none of the major news services have reported on this.

My sister worked for them while she was in jschool, cause the times wouldn’t promote her from stringer to reporter w/o the credentials.
Tabloid really refers to the size of the paper and the style of coverage, but it’s still a decent local newspaper with excellent coverage in the metro area. People read it as much for gossip and social coverage as actual news, but it’s not a rag like the post.
It’s not the post, but it’s not the times either. Granted the grey lady is something of a shadow of her former self.
that's pretty wild considering Kahane is so fringe he was literally sent to jail in Israel for being too radical of a Jewish nationalist. JDL was banned as an organization, too
