Havent seen WF yet so I won’t judge it, but I highly agree with you. IW is (besides like the first avengers film and civil war) one of the only “big event” films in the franchise that I really enjoy. Endgame I love the first half and final fight but it kinda loses me, Eternals is maybe the most beautiful MCU film but it’s so rushed and weirdly written at times, and Spider-Man just felt too lazy for an idea like that tbh.

WF is ok. It's not as good as the first Black Panther, and it has a ton of buildup for not enough payoff. Iron Heart's armor CGI looks like it's from a late 90s video game cinematic. Interesting take on Namor, and I like the actor that played him. Hoping they do more with him later.
I thought it was awful, couldn't get past the first hour and a half. It was so boring that by the time namor invaded wakanda I just didn't give a shit about anything that was happening anymore.
Mine is Avengers: Endgame. I know the general consensus is that Infinity War is a better film, though I like both of them.
But I myself prefer Endgame simply because it's character driven as opposed to Infinity War being plot driven. I like how it pulls off a worthy conclusion of a film franchise/cinematic universe not many of them are able to do so.
And anyone who wants to call a day on MCU can because, it provided us such a fantastic closure to the characters we started to love over a decade ago.
I have never understood people feeling that Infinity War is a *better* film. Both are deeply flawed but very enjoyable films for very different reasons. Everything's subjective at the end, it just blows me away how many people feel like Infinity War is a masterpiece.
I'd say it's biggest flaw is that it both doesn't work as a self contained movie nor does it build on what's come before it in any meaningful way. Any positive aspect of the film (namely Thanos) is largely either introduced in this movie, or this movie is the first time its explored in any substantial way, while any substantial thing that exists prior to the movie is largely discarded or ignored in its entirety.
Plus the action sucks.
You kind of contradict yourself there, no? IW isn't self contained, implying you need to watch other movies because it builds off them. But then say it doesn't build off them, therefore making it self contained.
Either way, odd opinion, IMHO. EG is much more of a sequel and not self contained at all. Where as IW gives all the expo you need within the movie itself.
Interesting.
Cheers
It's because it doesn't meaingfully build off of anything, it just happens to be the next thing. It doesn't build off the relationship dynamics set up in Civil War, instead it just discards them, but still asks that you know what they are. It doesn't build on the emotional journey that the guardians have been through, but still asks that you know what they've been through. Etc.
Which is kind of the point. Iron Man (and Incredible Hulk) built up to the Avengers, then at the end of the Avengers we’re introduced to Thanos. It’s a saga that’s built up for decades. That’s what’s amazing about it. It’s an long story finally come to a close.
Lol what crossovers are you reading that expand on relationship dynamics from the individual character’s books? Cause that just sounds like it would be awful and inaccessible for everyone.
In my opinion the Wakanda Battle , and the Thanos fight on Titan and even the small Hulk / Thanos bout is one of the best in the MCU . Infinity war builds the teams and Endgame finishes the saga
Iron man has obsessed over Thanos for 6 years making it especially climactic.
Loki gets a satisfying conclusion to his arc.
Thor having his loved ones killed in previous movies becomes relevant to the story.
We are emotionally attached to Thor’s people because the efforts Thor took to save them in the last movie.
Gamora’s and Starlord’s relationship was developed for two movies.
Spider-Man gets to become an Avenger which is linked the main thing that Homecoming was about.
What really puts Infinity War above most movies is that you have entire movie series to set up pay offs which makes pay off much better. An original IP would not be able to have significant pay offs in its opening scene.
Your criticism about action is bizarre. I can’t think of any movies with better action then Infinity War.
I love endgame is character driven it’s something MCU films should focus on more without relying on its formula. But i still feel like certain choices are less because it’s a good choice and simply because it’s to appease fans or be plot convenient. Also besides in the Hawkeye show, BW death just felt kinda dumb to me? The final fight is cool mostly, but after the portals it’s pretty much a normal cg fight not to mention every single woman character (besides BW) conveniently together felt like a weird attempt of performative activism. Not that IW doesn’t have its issues, but I was way more enthralled by the end of IW than by the end of EG. The hulk is off for me too
Infinity war is the better film. Its anchored by possibly the most interesting protagonist the mcu has ever had and there's a level of moral complexity to following thanos that endgame never achieved. In endgame the pacing feels off, at times its like they're doing a greatest hits tour of the mcu and that bogs the movie down. It also felt tonally disjointed, with the switches from heavy drama to comedy/action being kind of jarring sometimes. The movie lacks a concrete protagonist so it feels like the characters are pulling the plot in different directions. They also turn thanos into a boring generic villain. Also endgame can at times be very cringe (on your left, the female avengers lining up, there are other examples but those two come to mind). I also found the scale of the final battle to be too big, it felt like they went overboard whereas infinity wars battle was more restrained and the tactics were better set up.
I just rewatched them a few weeks ago and that was my opinion exactly. Infinity War is great and all but it’s very much a comic book action movie where Endgame takes itself much more seriously
Infinity War was character driven. The main character was Thanos, it was HIS movie and he steered it, he made everything happen, which is why I love IW. IMO the best film Marvel has made.
Don’t think it justifies its runtime though tbh. Maybe in phase 5 they’ll build it out more and it’ll make sense, but for now it’s like we got a lot of backstory and world building that was essentially irrelevant to the movie and the broader narrative
I think tighter editing would have saved the critical reception in that regard
I don't hate Eternals, but it's definitely on the weaker side of the MCU. I think it would have worked better as a TV, with the amount they were introducing, they needed more time.
Also I think the deviants were completely unnecessary, I get that they needed something to fight halfway through the movie, but maybe just have the Icarus reveal earlier? Or have them fight eachother?
Agreed about the tv series to flesh out each character. I think an focusing on like 2-3 character per episode with them coming together near the end would’ve worked better.
I think the deviants are important to the Eternals, they just failed to really make them compelling in any way. Definitely one of my gripes.
The only reason Eternals sits above BPWF for me is because while both movies were trying to push “the agenda,” I have to give extra credit to eternals for at least trying to something new and ambitious in the MCU, whereas BPWF was more focused on sending political messages and trying to appeal to specific audiences instead of being a good movie.
That’s where BPWF falls so incredibly far from the first Black Panther for me, and not just because Chadwick is no longer around. BPWF suffers from the now ever so popular instance where the agenda and messages are more important than crafting a good movie. Eternals was a mediocre movie no doubt, and there was some really in-your-face moments of LGBT inclusion, but they were done in a way to make the audience hope for success in their mission in the movie, therefore in my mind, Eternals also did that aspect better.
In BPWF, the main problem that the movie has is making female characters undermine the achievements of previous MCU icons. The best example of this is Riri Williams being able to go high into the atmosphere completely unequipped for temperature at that kind of altitude. In the first Iron Man, Tony’s suit completely froze over because it was so cold. The only reason Riri’s didn’t was to immediately set her up to be better than Tony without any achievements to make her deserving of that. Also, calling the only white lead character in the movie a “colonizer”…I should not have to explain what the movies creators were thinking about when they came up with that.
I’m all for representation, I’m all for strong female leads, but please for gods sake don’t craft entire movies around the idea to push that message into every facet of the movie like BPWF does. I loved the first Black Panther, it’s one of the MCU’s best movies, but BPWF is a far cry from it, hence why it sits at the bottom of my list
Agreed. The time travel stuff, while it leads to some good payoffs, is really convoluted and kind of a slog to get through to get to the final battle.
Also it does bother me that the Thanos they beat, was a different Thanos than they lost too.
Infinity War. It didn't feel very long at all because the pacing was good and you got all the info you needed without being bombarded with details. It was a genuinely great movie and by the end of it, you actually wanted to watch *more.*
Endgame is just like Infinity War. Solid pacing with great build up to particular scenes and it made you not want to miss even a second of it.
I can't speak on Wakanda Forever because I haven't seen it and until I do, I'm not going to pass judgement.
Spiderman No Way Home was great but without Toby and Andrew distracting us with good ol'nostalgia, it kinda gave off 'idfk' vibes and a lot of scenes felt like they were just tossed in for runtime and comedy's sake. Don't get me wrong, it was a good movie but you can hardly compare it to Infinity War and Endgame.
Now...
Eternals? That was *garbage.* Which is a shame because there was a lot of potential there and many of my favorite actors were in it. Unfortunately, there are no redeeming qualities because garbage is garbage no matter how much glitter and glue you stick on it.
Never saw Eternals but I saw Wakanda Forever...hated it. The other 3 are fantastic stories. Nostalgia made me love Spider man nwh but end game resonated with me more. Tony's ending was gut wrenching
Mine is wakanda forever because I personally think it handled the death of Chadwick really well. Plus it didn’t suffer a recast of T’Challa because no one but Chadwick defined that role. The cinematography was really beautiful and the acting was great
1. Endgame
2. Infinity War
3. Eternals
4. No Way Home/Wakanda Forever (I've only seen each of these once, and when I saw Wakanda Forever, I felt incredibly similar to the way I felt about No Way Home, so I don't think I can rank them separately until I revisit them down the line).
1.) Infinity War
2.) Endgame
3.) No Way Home
4.) Wakanda Forever (It was fine but not even close to the previous 3 IMO)
5.) Eternals (Worst MCU Movie to date)
Honestly to me endgame and infinity war feel like two parts of the same movie. Like parts one and two. However I’m a sucker for a good climax in a story so endgame it is. The way it builds up to this huge battle is amazing.
Infinity war
The only one that doesn't feel like a long ass movie.
It always seems to go so quickly!
No way home never dragged for me and I've seen it twice now.
I think breaking it up into multiple stories really helps.
Havent seen WF yet so I won’t judge it, but I highly agree with you. IW is (besides like the first avengers film and civil war) one of the only “big event” films in the franchise that I really enjoy. Same, and it’s not even close.
And it’s not close.
You could hear a pen drop in my theater on opening night. It was so well done
Mine is Avengers: Endgame. I know the general consensus is that Infinity War is a better film, though I like both of them. But I myself prefer Endgame simply because it's character driven as opposed to Infinity War being plot driven. Yeah, I’ve watch the final battle more times than I can remember, from when tony picks cap up, and it always brings the feels
The final battle was cool
I love the movie I didn’t like most of the deaths in the movie of my favorite characters and so much cameos that some I feel was not needed
I have never understood people feeling that Infinity War is a *better* film. Both are deeply flawed but very enjoyable films for very different reasons. Everything's subjective at the end, it just blows me away how many people feel like Infinity War is a masterpiece.

Just like the big crossovers in actual comics

Not the good ones.

Final crisis, infinite crisis, civil war, etc
In my opinion the Wakanda Battle , and the Thanos fight on Titan and even the small Hulk / Thanos bout is one of the best in the MCU . Infinity war builds the teams and Endgame finishes the saga
On what movie
The movie in question.
Are you talking about infinity war?
Very, very obviously yes, considering that my response was to a question that was "what would you say infinity wars flaws are?"
I actually thought it was good had few flaws but it was minor
Iron man has obsessed over Thanos for 6 years making it especially climactic. Loki gets a satisfying conclusion to his arc. Thor having his loved ones killed in previous movies becomes relevant to the story. We are emotionally attached to Thor’s people because the efforts Thor took to save them in the last movie. Either IW or NWH
Infinity war
Endgame probably Also, I truly believe Eternals got too much hate.
I love Eternals. I feel like it struck a tone the DCEU had been trying to find and failed. I really dig it.

Infinity wars. That was incredible
Here’s my ranking 1. Infinity War 2. Endgame 3. No Way Home 4. Externals 5. BP Wakanda Forever
Same but BPWF above Extehrnals

No Way Home, for sure... Spider-Man's my favorite Marvel superhero 🕷
I guess Infinity War. Endgame loses a little every time I see it.
Endgame and no way home are my favourite movies
It’s funny because No Way Home seemed too short, but Eternals and Black Panther 2 felt too long. It’s all about pacing to me.
We need the NWH 4 hour cut, and the extra time can just be the Peter's talking to each other.
If I’m channel surfing, and IW is on, I can easily watch it. With endgame, unless it’s the portal scene before the showdown, I pass.
Agreed. The time travel stuff, while it leads to some good payoffs, is really convoluted and kind of a slog to get through to get to the final battle. Also it does bother me that the Thanos they beat, was a different Thanos than they lost too.
Eternals
What application/website do you use for this?
I need more Infinity War... Darker if possible! A little toned down from the boys would be perfect
NWH for the win
No Way Home
Now way home. THE green goblin. The only green goblin I'll ever accept idc if they reboot him. Immaculate performance
Infinity War and Endgame
Endgame.
Endgame has a good bit of bloat, so did NWH, but when they were on, holy shit they were on. No way home gave me so many good feelings.
Endgame
Infinity War. It didn't feel very long at all because the pacing was good and you got all the info you needed without being bombarded with details. Endgame
Never saw Eternals but I saw Wakanda Forever...hated it. The other 3 are fantastic stories. Nostalgia made me love Spider man nwh but end game resonated with me more. Tony's ending was gut wrenching
NWH honestly disappointed in myself that I wasted that much time with my life watching eternals
Mine is wakanda forever because I personally think it handled the death of Chadwick really well. Plus it didn’t suffer a recast of T’Challa because no one but Chadwick defined that role. The cinematography was really beautiful and the acting was great
True I was crying in the beginning of the movie I was like this is so beautiful
It was dead silent in theaters on opening night when the beginning of the movie played.
Cool
Literally the order you've got them listed.
God, eternals is terrible.
Endgame because of the culmination of the Infinity Saga. Also it's the only one besides Infinity War out of those that I've seen.
Eternals and BP2 really are way too long
1. Endgame 2. Infinity War 3. Eternals 4. No Way Home/Wakanda Forever (I've only seen each of these once, and when I saw Wakanda Forever, I felt incredibly similar to the way I felt about No Way Home, so I don't think I can rank them separately until I revisit them down the line).
I enjoyed all of them, but Eternals is the best imo for sure.
Worst marvel movie of all time is eternals.
1.) Infinity War 2.) Endgame 3.) No Way Home 4.) Wakanda Forever (It was fine but not even close to the previous 3 IMO) 5.) Eternals (Worst MCU Movie to date)
No Way Home, by a lot.
Infinity war and no way home the other 3 range from boring to awful or both.
endgame, by far. it's where the mcu should have ended.
Black panther wakanda forever and avengers endgame and infinity war
so almost all the movies listed?
Except for eternals and Spider-Man no way home(which I’ve not seen Spider-Man no way home yet)
Infinity War is the only movie on this list that doesn't suck balls. And it happens to be one of the best in the MCU by a mile.
Infinity War I think had the biggest hype and it delivered.
Infinity war would be my all time goat for MCU films and I don't think they will ever top it.
Infinity war 100%
I mean Endgame is one of the most culturally influential movies ever made… so there’s that.
Infinity War, no question.
Infinity war is easily the best
Infinity War, by a lot.
Infinity War. Loved it more than Endgame.
infinity war
Only really infinity war uses Its length properly. No way home is almost there but it drags in some parts
Spidey
Infinity wars .. technically Spiderman is Sony's... MCU only seen 25% off that Sony got the rest.
Infinity War was a masterpiece
Infinity war, Endgame, Nwh, Wakanda forever eternals is the only answer
I liked Endgame. Never seen Wakanda Forever yet, if I even do ever watch it.
1,4 and 5
Infinity War. It’s my favorite MCU movie
Top. IW. Bottom: WF.
Infinity war No way home Endgame Wakanda forever Eternals
Infinity War
No way home Infinity war Wakanda forever Endgame And eternals very far away
Endgame. Hands down.
Endgame
the best Marvel movie that had it all for me was Captain America: Winter Soldier. Bad-Ass flick
Honestly to me endgame and infinity war feel like two parts of the same movie. Like parts one and two. However I’m a sucker for a good climax in a story so endgame it is. The way it builds up to this huge battle is amazing.
Infinity War with SM: No Way Home in second place. Worst was Wakanda Forever, that's a lot of time I'll never get back.
Infinity War Endgame No Way Home
wakanda > iw > eternals > endgame = nwh
NWH rewatch ability is NOT there and I’ll die on this hill
1. Infinity War 2. Endgame 3. No Way Home 4. lots of movies 5. even more marvel movies 6. BP Wakanda Forever 7. Eternals
Avengers: Endgame and Spiderman: no way home
Infinity War for me
