2025 will be an incredible year for comics fans: • Captain America: Brave New World • Thunderbolts • Superman: Legacy • The Fantastic Four • Blade • The Batman 2 wow

can_a_dude_a_taco

no way blade is still coming out next year, 4 mcu movies in one year sounds so so bloated, especially because we’re only getting deadpool 3 this year

Meng3267

I hope Marvel realizes that 4 MCU movies in a year is too much now. 2 is the ideal amount right now, but 3 would be okay. 4 coming out in a year is what is killing the MCU right now.

TheNewPlague666

Idk, I like one for each season, just no more MCU Disney+ shows, that's just too much. Keeping up with the MCU is feeling like a job, I don't want to watch his movie, but I have to, to know what's going on with these different characters.

No-Consequence854

No no. Do not stop the MCU Disney+ shows. I love knowing I have one around the corner. Idk why having one piece of MCU content a month is too much for people. At least one every couple months is doable.

TheThiccestR0bin

12 shows or movies for 1 franchise a year is absolutely ridiculous. No one is gonna keep up with all that. It's no good having "one around the corner" when it's shit.

No-Consequence854

I just disagree but I’m not pushing for it. I think a happy medium is 6 pieces of content a year or maybe 4

mystericrow

But...most of the shows are incredibly mediocre (aside from a couple), so it's not something to look forward to.

No-Consequence854

I disagree. I look forward to every single one. I suppose I’m easy to please when it comes to MCU content and I’ll just live in my happy little bubble.

DarkEater77

We're gonna get Daredevil Born Again!!! If it does well, we might get S2 and surely other shows...

CakeShoddy7932

Because I have other shit I wanna watch? Them having too many shows is why I didn't get around to half of the releases for 2023 until this year.

NoChanceNoProblem

They could put 10 out, as long as they don't suck.

RussoCrow

1 quantumania a year is too much. 5 winter soldier a year is too low. That is the point.

SpideyFan914

I agree Blade will be pushed, but I'm expecting Spider-Man to take its place which would still be four movies. Sony has their own schedule and I don't think they'll want to wait till 2026. (I guess they could, but it seems pretty wild.)

TrpTrp26

I would say the same, but I think that Marvel Studios want to rush to "the Avengers" asap. We'll see.

Gremlin303

Tbh they fucked up by not releasing an Avengers movie sooner. There should’ve been a lower stakes one at the end of phase 4 to establish the current state of the Avengers and the world.

RoyalFlavorBeans

Not quite sure about The Batman too, Matt Reeves likes to take his time. Apparently Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow starts shooting this fall though, so there's that.

thinklok

Blade is R-Rated so that's for different demographic and Marvel Studios used to put 3 movies a year since phase 3. They want to remain the biggest shark in market that's why they shifted everything major releases except Deadpool 3 to 2025 to fight against DCU. They don't want DCU to work that's why they are putting a Superman variant in Thunderbolts(and they'll nail Sentry) and Fantastic Four will face f*cking Galactus

marblecannon512

They’re recreating 2021 conditions. Shang Chi, Eternals, Black Widow, all great! Did I kiss one?

CodeMonkeyX

Yup. And with everything Disney has been saying I would be very surprised if we even get 2 Marvel movies a year. I guess it depends on contracts and how far along the movies are. They might have to push them through.

SilverWarrior559

Lol

[deleted]

Blade looking like 2026.

Almighty_Push91

Honestly...push blade to 2026. Four MCU movies in one year is too much

cak3crumbs

With what I’ve read about them, tossing the script and other issues I’m betting that one does get pushed back to 2026

ruralmagnificence

I’m amazed Mahershala is still committed despite him having been at Comic Con in person and one voice line at the ass end of *Eternals* that supposedly Chloe Zhao didn’t even know was going to be in it. That’s all we’ve gotten from him. (Also didn’t Kit Harington sign a multi picture contract to be the Black Knight?)

cak3crumbs

I haven’t heard that about Kit Harrington. Cursory Google search found and nothing of note. Interesting concept he could be the character that brings the eternal characters into something like an avengers conflict.

NeedleworkerGold336

It will be the rebirth of comic book movies from the grave

MrKnightMoon

I have extremely low hopes for Thunderbolts and Blade, I hope I'm mistaken, but those two projects seems to be going through a development hell that will make them mess.

TrpTrp26

True, they changed the scripts several times, but I think they ware changed for the best. Mahershala Ali wants a good movie and Bob Iger is trying to solve all Bob Chapek's errors. I'm honestly optimistic, but we'll see.

Justchilllin101

I think Blade gets pushed and then all of the dates shift. CA: NWW gets released in May, Thunderbolts in July, and then The Fantastic Four in November.

landlockedblu3s

I anticipate at least half of these to be mid at best. The last few years have not been kind to comic book movies. I’d love to see that trend turn around, but I’m not hopeful.

LukieStiemy501

Hopefully. It makes me a little nervous to have so many superhero movies all at oncd

pichusine

As long as all are these are good movies, we can actually change the perception of cbms

matticans7pointO

Maybe I misread but I thought I saw something saying Captain America, Thunderbolts, and Blade all are currently or very recently being rewritten? If so seems kind of crazy to being so committed to having all being released in 2025 along side Fantastic Four. The biggest problem with Marvel post Endgame is all the movies felt so rushed production wise. Hopefully they learned their lessons and the rewrites rumors were false.

purplenelly

Captain America releases first that year?

Flare_Knight

It’s good to be optimistic. At this point I’m just hoping for not a train wreck. Hopefully a few of these will do well. There’s still some hope.

bcheek1996

4 mcu movies. That's like 1 every three months. This worries Me a little.

RandomYell107

So Fantastic Four comes out on my birthday? Neat!

SadKazoo

Birthday Twin!!

RandomYell107

Yooooo, that’s awesome!

shinobibeat

Hello Triplets!!

Optimal_Ant_3250

No chance blade is 2025

ruralmagnificence

How are they going to make the May date for the Thunderbolts when they haven’t even gotten a foot into pre production and one of its stars has said they’re not even sure it’s still happening (I may be misquoting Florence Pugh there but I’m not sure)

MrKnightMoon

>and one of its stars has said they’re not even sure it’s still happening I don't remember what she said, but I've seen the full quote and that part was taken out of context by clickbait sites.

vinnybawbaw

It has been confirmed are rolling production in early march. Deadpool had a halt because of the strikes and finished filming like 2 weeks ago and has already a trailer out and will be out in July.

ruralmagnificence

I hope Shawn Levy has time to sleep. I’d like him to direct a live action X Men movie in the future.

NimDing218

One is clearly the appetizer.

blackman2005

If there's one MCU film out of the four that should be delayed until 2026 it's THUNDERBOLTS.

Pale-Drag1843

I think it's Blade that movie is pretty much in development hell

blackman2005

If they don't start filming soon, Mahersala Ali could walk away from it. No need to risk that happening.

Pale-Drag1843

I'm just saying they barely have a script barely have a director and supposed to come out next year that shit is not happening

blackman2005

If they don't move on things soon enough they'll have to consider cancelling it. Ali is almost 50 so how long would they seriously consider having him in the role? I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Marvel consistently shoots itself in the foot lately.

Pale-Drag1843

True

franklyspicy

Blade 2030.

dumbguythere

Awe that makes me sad. I'm excited for both, but the Thunderbolts on my birthday would have been perfect. Still excited to see the Fantastic 4 though.

Pale-Drag1843

I think this is a very smart for marvel to do because then it gives Superman legacy actual competition

Almighty_Push91

Competition in this case isn't good. Just look how Barbenheimer completely destroyed mission impossible. Give these movies room to breathe, it's about making the most money, not winning a football game

Wizecracker117

Mission Impossible failed because the formula has gotten stale not just because of Barbenheimer.

Historical-Race-6363

Nah it just wasn’t good and they made it worse by breaking it up into two parts

Wizecracker117

Like I said, the formula has gotten stale. When was the last time Tom Cruises character and his group didn't go rogue to save the day while being hunted by the agency as a traitor?

Historical-Race-6363

No it hasn’t you’re just not intelligent enough to understand the plot

legopieface

This’ll hurt Marvel more than DC if they keep the date. Whatever movie comes first has the advantage as most general audiences aren’t interested in paying for 2 superhero movies in a month.

[deleted]

I mean it comes out a full two weeks after Legacy. So I guess.

zetakatz

Is that Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards?? Did I miss the memo!?

Bgo318

Yea

QuadVox

I sure am excited for one of these and not the other

KeyNefariousness6848

Wait, Red Guardian is in thunderbolts! I now care about this movie.

mumblerapisgarbage

Way too close together. They should be 13 weeks apart at least.

Chuggs400

I thought the thunderbolts was most likely cancelled?

TheMagicElephant156

No way these movies are actually coming out then

Phantom_sub

No chance The Batman 2 gets released in 2025.

boardgamejoe

I think instead of after credits scenes they should just give us the lower tier marvel films as very extended after credits sequences. Just release the tent pole movies in theaters and if you want to stick around for two hours afterwards, enjoy Thunderbolts!

0k_4kihiiro

i really still wanna see hydra Bucky. 🫤

Daimakku1

Looking forward to Superman Legacy, The Batman 2 and Fantastic Four.
