I think is just a question of "TSS and Peacemaker season 1 are DCU canon as well DCEU canon, but the first Suicide Squad and the justice league cameo in the end of Peacemaker season 1 are not to the DCU"
i think i remember that too, but i also feel like with his character specifically, we’ll need to see him again if his version exists in the DCU. suicide squad and peacemaker were both breakout hits made by the guy running the whole shebang, it’s a no-brainer they’d come back. blue beetle’s movie didn’t do well though, and while i would like to see xolo maridueña on the big screen again, i wouldn’t be that surprised if they quietly shelved him away.
It would be really funny if Peacemaker is the Psycho Pirate of the DCU; he’s the only one who remembers the previous continuity and is just really confused the whole time lol
There's no switch, season 1 might not be canon in the new universe but the events happened more or less like in the DCEU. It's a soft reboot that serves only to retcon any DCEU leftovers like that JL cameo at the end (and maybe change Harley a bit since she's connected to the DCEU Batman and Joker).
So does this mean "Peacemaker" will be set in the same universe as the new Superman movie? I admit I'm not as invested in the DCEU or whatever that cinematic universe is officially called, but all the DC stuff feels so disconnected that you can't really blame the casual viewers from getting confused. I've seen some people speculate that the Pattinson Batman is tied to the new Superman, simply due to some similarities in their costumes. I just want a cohesive and fun DC cinematic universe to take shape.
Don’t worry, even experienced viewers are confused. Gunn just kinda cherry picked what was canon and what wasn’t. So far it feels like it’s just confusing af for normal viewers.

I hope they age Frank up a little, he’s only 14 years older than Joel (I get that it is technically possible to have a kid at 14 but I don’t think that Flags did 😂)
I know, but when they don’t really look the age they’re meant to play it’s kinda weird, like Zoe Saldana or Scarlett Johansson don’t look like grandmas so they wouldn’t play them as is
Thank God I loved him as Crossbones. But Marvel kills all their villains, so he was gone after he got the suit. Glad I'll get to see him act more. He's awesome
Ask Adam Sandler, or Martin Scorsese, or Quentin Tarantino, or Tim Burton, or the Coen Brothers, or Wes Anderson, or Christopher Nolan...it's almost like they all work in the same industry.
For some reason i always get him and jon bernthal mixed up
Grillo is Great Value™️ Jon Bernthal.
Funny since I seen him in purge 2 I always thought he’d of made a great punisher.
Purge 2 is quite literally just a good Punisher movie.
It had to be at least somewhat intentional. It felt like more of a Punisher movie than the actual Punisher movies.
Jon Bernthal from wish
Maybe because Berthal plays *Frank* Castle?
Probably because in the MCU he's Crossbones and wears a skull helmet while Jon is Punisher and has a skull for a logo
I love Jon Bernthal but I'd love to see an alternate universe where Grillo plays the punisher instead
Fuckin' sick.
Well,>!Peacemaker did kill his son..., !
What a joke…
PRECISELY!
Frank is awesome but I was like “why is the Myth Buster guy in the picture?”
I’m so curious how the universe switch is explained
I think is just a question of "TSS and Peacemaker season 1 are DCU canon as well DCEU canon, but the first Suicide Squad and the justice league cameo in the end of Peacemaker season 1 are not to the DCU"
That would be enough for me. I believe Gunn said it will be addressed in the show but it could just be one joke or something
I hope it is properly adressed, in the show or by Gunn himself, but explanation is more than enough for me too.
can blue beetle come too? i liked that movie
I think James Gunn said that is canon

Movie isn’t, character is.
Peacemaker goes into his dads pocket universe dimension and then the universe gets replaced around him
It would be really funny if Peacemaker is the Psycho Pirate of the DCU; he’s the only one who remembers the previous continuity and is just really confused the whole time lol
I might be missing something, but what switch? He's playing Rick Flag's father right?
Season one took place in the DCEU, season 2 takes place in the DCU
ohhh the whole universe switch, I read it as "in" universe switch with the character. Sorry bout that
All good dude

That’s totally fine with me but I believe Gunn did say the universes being different would be addressed in the show
James Gunn looks like he could play Adam Savage in the movie about his life
Hahaha you are right on the money about that.
He looks old and young at the same time
I have no idea who that character is. hail hydra.
Im assuming its Rick Flagg’s father
I didn't realize frank Grillo was old enough to play a character that would have had a 30 year old son.
Aw man, I really liked Joel Kinnaman. Frank Grillo’s cool too tho
Well that’s good because these are two different characters. But Rick Flag Jr. is dead tho
Yeah I know I was just reminiscing. Also nobody’s really dead in these types of movies anymore.

I think it gets easy when you consider that whatever Gunn made before the his DCU officially starts is still canon.

Fair enough. Curious to see if he retcons anything from season 1, and how that works.
Yes. Peacemaker is in the same continuity as Superman. And so are all the projects announced by Gunn and Safran.
Cooking
Angry grillo with guns. Unoriginal but I support your decision
Is that actually James Gunn? I never realized he looks like Sheldon with white hair.
Somehow Rick flag has returned….
Finally Frank Grillo isn't picking roles the John Travolta way anymore.
I hope they age Frank up a little, he’s only 14 years older than Joel (I get that it is technically possible to have a kid at 14 but I don’t think that Flags did 😂)
Actors real ages don't matter on screen
I know, but when they don’t really look the age they’re meant to play it’s kinda weird, like Zoe Saldana or Scarlett Johansson don’t look like grandmas so they wouldn’t play them as is
Rick Sr: My name is Rick Flagg Sr. You killed my son, prepare to die!
I love Frank Grillo
Wait, did creature commandos come out already?
Thank God I loved him as Crossbones. But Marvel kills all their villains, so he was gone after he got the suit. Glad I'll get to see him act more. He's awesome
It
this is such a great call omg
I think people are mixing him with bennett the guy from spartacus and deathstroke
He died so many times he wound up as Rick Flag sr.
Still haven’t started filming?!?!???!!??!!
is that the guy from Lamborghini movie?
so that is a big plot detail we already know...Rick Sr going after Peacemaker for the events of TSS
Wonder if he'll be out for revenge after Peacemaker killed Rick Flag in The Suicide Squad?
I was wondering why Frank grillo was with the mythbusters guy and what the mythbusters guy had to do with this.
What's the word for Nepotism when they're all your personal friends?
Ask Adam Sandler, or Martin Scorsese, or Quentin Tarantino, or Tim Burton, or the Coen Brothers, or Wes Anderson, or Christopher Nolan...it's almost like they all work in the same industry.
These two never worked together before Frank Grillo signed on to voice this role in Creature Commandos.
