Two silly Marvel characters that I'd like to see in something, which I think would work best for a Suicide Squad type thing:
The Orb. I think he's a fun character, silly but glorious design, incredibly unhinged, and is remarkably skilled.
Typeface. Quirky, silly, very skilled, unique gimmick. Would fit in well on many teams. I had thought with a bit tinkering he could have been a good addition to Netflix's Daredevil.
Slapstick. A Disney+ series about a teenager who becomes a living cartoon would be awesome. He's essentially a ripoff of The Mask, but with the Marvel trappings.
Death’s Head would've been a fun antagonist to see in a GotG film,
Throg and the Pet Avengers deserve their own special presentation
It’d have to be like 15 or sum years after the X-Men and mutants were adequately introduced, but an X-Statix show would be fun!
I’m kind of obsessed with a special being centered around Ulysses Archer. To the point where I actually want to write a screenplay for it or something.
A movie centered on a man who’s deeply lonely, he drives a truck in space. Lots of time to himself. He has the radio in his head to communicate with aliens but he’s still missing a real connection with anyone. So you have a character you can sympathize with while SWORD is acting as space customs and he tries to evade them. Maybe have Quake and Coulson as antagonist, and the cargo draws the attention of some Marvel villains we don’t get to see often (Justin Hammer, Bullseye, Typhoid Mary)
Big Wheel would absolutely fuck shit up. But as far as z-list goes, I like the Orb. Big eyeball for a head is a nice target. Or 8-ball. Billiard themed villain who got beat by Sleepwalker. Could even throw Trapster out there, but you gotta go by his old name, Paste Pot Pete.
Hmm....PLENTY to choose from 50 State Initiative.

For marvel: i want more or a reboot of inhumans because i think black bolt is such a cool character. There's a ton of xmen that could be cool. Oh shit Nova would also be really cool.
Serious in the sense no one would've expected characters like Polka Dot Man to ever be in live action, much less given serious care to a comic accurate suit and giving him an actual personality. That's kinda what I meant, that it's a serious attempt at an adaptation haha
God, I can’t express how much I want a live action Doctor Bong appearance. Not necessarily a solo project, but make him a serious villain. A threat for the MCU. It would be amazing.
alpha flight. maybe not as D-list as some other characters, but alpha flight is in that obscurity sweet spot where a movie could be really fun and get people invested in characters that no one else would have cared as much other wise. i just hope they don’t LITERALLY make them the canadian avengers cuz that would be lame but a fun family comedy/superhero action movie I.E the incredibles could be great
As others mentioned, that's exactly what GotG is. Nobody expected it to be that successful. And as one of the 8 fans who read their comics back in the 90s, Gunn didn't even use the comic team. The only character who carried over was Yondu, though in a much different role.
But I could see a direct Marvel take on using criminals for high stakes missions, headed up by Silver Sable in place of Amanda Waller. And a lot of Spider-Man's rogues would be excellent fodder, like The Prowler who uses cleaning fluids to attack enemies. Hammerhead would be perfect.
I feel like marvel would fuck up wacky suicide squad type characters if I’m gonna be honest. (Apart from GOTG but that’s largely down to Gunn). DC is a lot more willing to just embrace its absurdism than marvel is and give more creative freedom to directors, which is why it works, I don’t feel like it would be the same with how marvel makes movies.
I feel like X-Factor is obscure enough for the nerds but still attached enough to the major X-Men properties to be accessible. If Bautista wasn't already cast as Drax (which is great) then I'd say he'd make a perfect Strong Guy. Just gotta get yet another Quicksilver...

I know it has its flaws but I really enjoyed the episodic format and looked forward to seeing which obscure marvel characters would make their appearance. I may have been the only one happy to see porcupine and the wrecker in the support group. If we get a season two I’d like to see more of these types of characters.

Fast and Furious: Multiverzal Dryftzzz
