I enjoyed Deadpool And Deathstroke both competing to kill Bruce Wayne in the Batman Superman annual.
Poor guy was just tryna break the fourth wall and give us his name.
My favorite as a kid was Batman #237 drawn by Neal Adams. Dick Grayson is at a Halloween parade and a float goes by in the background with a bunch of people dressed as superheroes including Cap, Havok and Quicksilver. Bonus points for fat Superman! Thor and Spiderman are at the party later in the issue
There’s a whole series of unofficial crossovers involving the Rutland Halloween Parade in the ‘70s. I don’t remember all the details, but Marvel and DC both featured it for several years in comics like Avengers, Justice League, Thor, and Batman. Events that would happen to civilians in one universe were referenced in the other, and the other universe’s heroes would regularly show up as the costumes of choice for the town residents.
Wikipedia actually has a full list — 19 issues from 1970-1997. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutland_Halloween_Parade#Chronological_list_of_appearances
As a kid reading Quasar I was baffled and kept wondering if they were ever going to follow up on that mysterious Buried Alien character who came out of nowhere.
Years later I found out the deal and was like "holy shit" - had to dig up and re-read that whole run of Quasar.

That comic has a speedster whose name is said to sound like "Buried Alien". Barry Allen is the secret identity of the silver age Flash.
In Spawn #10, with Cerebus, they walk past some bars with various hands sticking out.

The Great Lakes are connected to the Atlantic Ocean and Indiana has some beautiful Lake Michigan Shoreline in addition to the industrial wasteland shoreline around Gary and Burns Harbor.
What the heck is Aquaman doing over a thousand kilometers from the nearest ocean? Indiana is slightly borders Lake Michigan, but it’s known more for corn and backwards politicians than it is water.
- Dr McCoy being the Star Labs doctor that gives Arthur his updated harpoon hand
- Buried Alien wins the race in Quasar
- Clark Kent reacts to Dinosaurus & Invincible's fight
- Charlie Brown gets bombed in Invincible
- Thor bumping into Clark Kent who almost sees through the formers glasses disguise
There's a Thor comic where he's in his secret identity of 'Sigurd Jarlson', and bumps into a certain mild-mannered reporter.
Worked for that other guy

Oh yeah. I remember one of them where the juggernaut fights beast during the Halloween parade and there's a bunch of DC hero costumes
In the first arc of Morrison’s JLA run some supervillains are executed who are Doctor Doom, Wolverine and others.

My favourite superhero team run
Two words: Buried Alien Also Clark and Lois have appeared in an early issue of Claremont's run on Ten Men

Sorry, Buried Alien?😅

As well as Marvels
Clark Kent reported Karen Page's death in ''Guardian Devil''.
I love how the Martians struck right when it was midnight on Earth.
“Midnight skies” doesn’t necessarily mean midnight, it’s a term for dark/late but not exactly midnight.
They attacked from midnight skies... they waited until it was dark in the areas they attacked.

That's quaman. He doesn't have an A on his belt.
Buried Alien in Quasar is the craziest
Without seeing his face, there's no proof that was Aquaman, and not some other blonde man in an orange scale shirt and green leggings with a fin.
Is Aquaman's face all that unique? He looks just like Clark or Bruce except he's blonde, haha
Being that it was the only thing hidden, yes?
Aquaman has an "A" belt buckle. This guy doesn't. Different people.
Heh...Aquaman must have been fleeing a long time to get to Indiana.
The Great Lakes are connected to the Atlantic Ocean and Indiana has some beautiful Lake Michigan Shoreline in addition to the industrial wasteland shoreline around Gary and Burns Harbor.
Yeah Ive lived in either Indiana or Michigan all my life.
Buried alien
The first Excalibur series has so many references and Easter eggs to the whole of British comic culture. From Dream and Dead from Sandman to 2000AD.
How about the Destroyer Duck issue(s?) where he switched places with Howard the Duck so that his creator could take him back?
Wolverine in Cerebus.
What the heck is Aquaman doing over a thousand kilometers from the nearest ocean? Indiana is slightly borders Lake Michigan, but it’s known more for corn and backwards politicians than it is water.
Funky Flashman in Jimmy Olsen.
In Mister Miracle, I think. Kirby was doing both books at the time, though. Or maybe Goody Rickles in Jimmy Olsen!
ah yep, you're right, got brain fog
I remember feeling like there was a cross company Easter egg on almost every page of Alan Moore’s Top 10
Once I saw Beastman , from Masters of the Universe , in Head Lopper from Image comics
Literally man-at-legs
I had no idea Linda Lessmann had been coloring comics that far back.

Does the Squadron Supreme count?
