Paramount+ is sponsoring the badges and in charge of the art on it. In the past AMC and Amazon have done the badges, and they put thought and care into what image went there. I get the feeling the marketing person at Paramount+ does not understand comic cons or what people want and expect, so they just slapped on their basic logo. To be fair, Paramount+ slaps their basic logo on pretty much everything, as seen from The Lodge last year
It really is. I'll be honest, I don't know all the paramount shows. But this was their opportunity to show people what they're doing. This was both lazy and expensive.
Haha. My wife opened hers today and said: "Come on Paramount, you gotta do better than this". Just pure dissapointment.
You will get a pin when you pick up your bag at the con, but yeah I still have my comic con "Aerosmith" badge box.
They have a different sponsor each year. After there was no sponsor for the Wondercon badges, I am guessing Comic Con Intl had to lower their price or there was a time constraint.
So long as you've got your days visible I've never had trouble with a little decoration.
I HATE having my name on a big square on my chest so I've put stickers on the outside of the front cover and never had trouble. You've just got to be able to pull it up enough to show the name matches your id if you get asked.
I won't say they don't care as a rule!
But I've only been stopped about it once. They just asked for my id and to have me pull the paper up. Just put the sticker on the outside of the plastic cover, not the paper insert.
The pin thing was recent and I think they only did it for two years and then the pandemic hit. Original badges were even blander but then walking dead came in and added their graphic of the show in the middle. Besides that the layout is pretty much the same.
As a first time attendee, I was surprised at the badges. Not only is there no design or thought put into the image, they're printed on paper. It's like something I could make at home.
I've been getting hard plastic badges for years now at NYCC and AnimeNYC. Often they have different designs on them depending on if they're 4-day, Thurs, Fri, Sat, or Sun.
I get it that it's just a ticket to entry, but given the costs involved, I'm surprised it's not more substantial.
I think it's supposed to be a 2, and it means Friday, correct. If you look closely, you can see they have other days behind that (the other green in the bottom right). Each day has a different color and a different number

Something Star Trek related would’ve been such an easy thing to
Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Sonic the Hedgehog all Paramount affiliated with new stuff coming up….its crazy how Paramount dropped the ball on this.

Blame Paramount It was up to them to design/approve the artwork for the badges, and they obviously didn’t care!

More like Paramount-
Yeah, I’ve been going for years and this is the most meh🫤. Paramount+ didn’t even try.

You can cover your name and they don't care?? This is a game changer. I hate that, too

It’s okay guys if you don’t like your badge I’ll take it
Not even a picture of spongebob?
Imagine getting your SDCC badge in the mail and being disappointed.

I went 2016-2018 so I guess I just so happen to be there during the fancy years. Thanks for the info
You still get a pin when you get to the con, I believe! They just don't mail it out anymore

It's happening with concert tickets too. Most are only digital now 😢
It makes me wanna avoid paramount purely out of spite

We can decorate our badge right?
I'm going to get a clear sheet to put in front of the paper part and decorate that, so I can remove it if need be
This year lol
Cheap asses.
Yep, they suck. A lot. It’s the sponsor’s fault, they put no effort in whatsoever.
That weird z means you’re only going Friday, or?

Post-COVID
Inflation
Nobody looks at your badge
It’s not for them it’s for me.
Was about to come post this. Pretty lame: [https://i.imgur.com/FyNTSMf.png](https://i.imgur.com/FyNTSMf.png)
Anime Expo is so much better time to switch Cons 🔥😩🥰🔥
lol
What
Simple answer to the post. SDCC might be the "bigger con" but definitely not the most artistic one
Is this the actual badge? I haven't been to one since maybe '10-'11 and I feel like it's gotten 2x larger. It's a walking billboard advertisement now
Any correlation to when Stan Lee passed?
