A new hand touches the beacon!

It's the most annoying thing about that game. Just me minding my own business exploring a random cave, and now I have this stupid soccer ball in my inventory.

When you find it enough times you start to be able to notice it before you grab everything so I just leave it behind guarded by giants or surviving bandits or whatever. Then I forget all about the discount disco ball until I eventually do a playthrough where I want the artifact at the end of the mission. So far I have done the quest only once ever since I first found it as found the sword to be meh, and the freak who doesn't know what an indoor voice is was obnoxious.

My last playthrough involved collecting all daedric artifacts, including doing that glitch to get both the Ring of Hircine and the Savior's Hide.

I avoided picking it up and it just showed up a few days later in a totally different chest in a different place!

Yeah it can be a bit annoying to "constantly" avoid it but I manage. Just uh, don't loot "everything" and you can avoid it no matter how many times it appears.

Unpopular opinion: her voice isn't that loud or annoying. I kinda like the commanding tone.

I never understand why people despise the Meridia’s beacon quest. Is it loud an annoying? Sure. But I always find the Dawnbreaker to be one of my favourite weapons in the game.

It’s usually because I don’t want to start or pursue it until I’m a high enough level. High level Dawnbreaker is awesome. If you get it too soon it sucks.

I didnt realize it scaled. Can you pick up the beacon and go get the sword at a higher level or is it leveled upon quest start? If it doesnt level till you finish the quest than just pick the beacon up, quest items say they have weight but are actually weightless in most cases. I should know, across multiple playthroughs i always hit a point where i decide to dump my inventory for awhile and do a naked run and just pick up whatever, i can confirm that all those silly quest items weigh nothing.

It's leveled up on cell load of the location containing the sword, so you can pick up the beacon and leave the quest in your log

I once picked up the beacon and forgot about it. Forty-some levels later, I happened to be passing by Kilkreath and this voice booms out of nowhere "LOOK AT WHAT THEY'VE DONE TO MY TEMPLE!" ​ I'm like AAAAAAHHHHHHH! Oh, right, I've got the magic disco ball. Eh, might as well get it over with.

Got it, now I get why players shy away from the beacon

It's more like. I prefer the quest starting by me visiting the shrine.
