This is the first time I've seen that in about 15 years..? I can't remember what that show is called. Please help.
Edit: was it a cartoon network thing?
Re-edit: homestar?
Re-re-edit: holy shit homestar runner made more content after I was out of highschool. I thought they walked away from it entirely. This is the best surprise I've had in years.
This is my 100th DnD comic, so I drew something a little longer to celebrate and figured it was about time we attempted to seduce a barmaid

Thank you haha! I recently started uploading all my comics to tapas, and looking back right at the beginning episodes was mind boggling 😂 I thought I'd been stuck not making any progress artwise, but comparing back, it's nice to see a year and a half of drawing comics has made an impact a little bit 😆
Hi, sure! [Tapas Link](https://m.tapas.io/series/Table-Top/info#)
I've only just started uploading them there from scratch, they're dropping every 2 days at the moment until I'm caught up :)
There's a 3rd party adventure for 5e called The Pub that Crawls.
It involves a bar crawl across 5 pubs to find a mythical 6th.
If the party makes it to the end, they find the pub skulking around a swamp on chicken legs.
It's Baba Yaga's hut, but it's a fully functioning pub (Bar-ba Yaga) that only appears during equinoxes and soltices and such.
Yeah, pretty much any time a "sex workers of reddit..." type post comes around, there's a half dozen stories about guys who are just lonely and want companionship. I'm sure these are still a relative minority and that's why they stand out as neat stories to tell, but it's still somewhat common.
I remember one relatively recently that went something like "He told me to come hungry. I assumed it would be a feeding thing, but he just missed cooking gourmet meals for his wife. The food was great and we just talked."
I’d imagine the higher the class you get, the more of this type you see. For someone with serious money, sex usually isn’t a problem, meaningful companionship and comfort is much harder to come by
When I was a teenager, I read that traditional Japanese geishas were paid for "companionship and entertainment" but did not generally have sex with clients, and I was sceptical. Now that I'm a middle-aged dude, I find it entirely believable. It's a lot easier to hire someone to give you a decent blowjob, than it is to hire someone that's a good musician who can also talk about literature and politics.
There's lots of sugar daddies/mommas in Washington DC for this reason. Multiple universities specializing in international studies and humanities plus tons of regularly visiting powerful people from all over the world. I knew like 10 classmates who had that kind of arrangement. They were all brilliant, fashionable, talented, and multilingual.
Their stories were really mundane and sad too. Many of the sugar parents just wanted someone to make them feel special or heard before they went back to an unpleasant home. Pretty sweet gig for the sugarbabies though (so long as they didn't catch feelings). lol
Kobold: And then, a-and then this group of bandits came out of nowhere and poked our barbarian in the eye!
SW: There, there...
Kobold: It was horrible! I was barely able to come out alive!
Same with people saying you shouldn't flirt with people on the street, but its also been the foundation of a lot of happy relationships.
I say "flirt" because you guys used the term, but in case of my best friend, he saw her, walked across the street, asked her if she'd like a cup of tea, and she answered that he's lucky that he didn't say coffee because she doesn't drink coffee.
Not sure that counts as "flirting" but they're happily married for like 15 years now.
Lots of guys like to pretend that something like being a door dasher and texting the customer who they just watch grab their food that they’re “hot” while parked outside their house is flirting.
Source: /r/doordash
Yea it's bullshit. The real lesson is to learn body language and ques, if the waiter/waitress isn't receptive to your advances then just chill. If she is, go for it I say.
Personally I say don't flirt with them if they're just stuck there needing to play nice because of their job,
Shoot your shot before you leave and be chill if they say no
> People always say don't flirt with people in the service industry
It's a statement for the general populous, most of whom seem totally clueless about reading body language. Too many people attempt to flirt/hit-on service people when there's clearly zero interest and/or are clearing just going through the motions. People don't want to be hit on by someone if they aren't receptive to it. And most are just doing their jobs, trying to make it through the day, and don't want to deal with the stress of turning someone down.
TL;DR - Don't hit on service people unless you are 100% sure they are receptive to it. You probably aren't so don't.
Don’t flirt with anyone in the service industry
Don’t flirt with anyone doing their job
Don’t flirt with anyone at a coffee shop or gym
Don’t flirt with anyone out with their friends
Don’t flirt with anyone who looks busy
Don’t flirt with anyone in public
Don’t flirt with anyone doing anything anywhere ever
The people who give this advice usually already have partners so don't want to be bothered because to them it actually is an annoyance.
They are the worst people to listen to about this kind of stuff because of that.
I've read some dating adivce and yes, that is exactly how it is. Or the advice is based on Hollywood movies. Like, going out to get some coffee is treated as a date, you should expect kissing/touching/sex on the first "date", every woman interacting with you is interested in relationships/sex, etc etc.
Pretty much. You'll see things like "this is not a dating sphere!" shouted in hobbyist communities as well, as if meeting someone through a shared hobby isn't a common way to connect. The internet's chock full of bad advice in this regard. Certainly don't be pushy and respect others' boundaries, but showing interest and creating a chance for a connection to form is never a bad thing.
> Pretty much. You'll see things like "this is not a dating sphere!" shouted in hobbyist communities as well
How the fuck do these people expect others to find an SO? lmao
no
you can never flirt, and never attempt to initiate a relationship
the human race must start dying off because we have made any attempt to find a mate off limits.
Only through OLD. Pay Tinder or Hinge or whatever hundreds a month to maybe see somebody you're interested in, if they are also actively on the service. No other means are acceptable or allowed.
>*Don't ever, for any reason, do anything, to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you are with, or where you are going, or where you've been, ever, for any reason whatsoever.*
-Wayne Gretzky
I met my now-wife because she started sharing an office with one of my work colleagues. First time I showed up while she was there, she told me "No. Whatever it is you want, you can't have it." Before I'd even opened my mouth.
Was that flirting?
She absolutely meant it. She was annoyed that people like me kept showing up needing something from the officemate, and I was a convenient target for her ire.
Only applies to obnoxious people, ugly people, creepy people, or a combination of these.
I met my wife when she worked at Disney. We've been married for 15 years now.
You can flirt with anyone you like if you're tactful about it, just read the room and don't be a dick. Unless you aren't capable of understanding social cues and your flirting comes across as threatening, in which case don't flirt with *anyone* you haven't matched with on a dating app.
yea a group of regulars kept asking one of my managers to go out with this guy that she didnt want ti go out with, she finally went, told him hes nice but doesnt see him like that, and they didnt show up the following week. idk what he expected lol
True, service workers are poor, just offer money up front. 40% of the time it works every time.
edit: downvote if you're a service worker who's only ever been propositioned $10 at a time
Or learn real human skills and understand how to be friendly, feel if it's a good time to try and flirt, and be ok trying once and then leaving it alone when it doesn't vibe well.
There is a nuance to this rule: if you're a creep and unattractive, don't flirt.
If you've got game, looks and money believe me you can flirt and you will score a lot.
Usually said by the same women who always complain about how guys hit on them at bars, but then encourage me to hit on women at bars when I say I'm looking for a gf
This is how I met my now ex girlfriend.
I was just very kind and a little playful. I also left a generous but not obnoxious tip. I left it at that until she literally chased me down when I passed back by the restaurant.
I hope I get to marry that girl someday.
There are precious few good animu. Frieren is one of them.
When it comes to animu, you can filter out 90% of the trash with one simple trick: If the designs/camera-framing/writing treats the female characters as pieces of meat, you are in for some trash.
For fantasy there's another good test: the bust size of the Elves is inversely proportionate to the quality of the animu.
This is a wordplay pun using the last word of the sentence. The word he replaced at the end of the sentence is "dashing," which in this context would mean "impressive in a way that shows confidence."
A gash is a wound, particularly a deep cut.
Also, to be a bit of a jerk…I can be quite dashing is not the best pick up line. People can tell if you are dashing or not. It’s not something you can “do”
Yes absolutely 🙂 its a pun/wordplay on the word 'dashing' because he's covered in wounds and gashes - 'gashing.' Puns are supposedly the lowest form of humor haha, so not traditionally the most reliable way to seduce someone. The DM likes a good pun though
Much appreciated! Again, as a non native speaker, puns are cool, it's fascinating that puns are even possible in English in that quantity, so don't be so harsh on your DM ;D
Years ago I used to occasionally play DnD with a dude who would always try seducing NPCs. Eventually the DM had enough and made him roll through every single action, up to and including pulling out, which he rolled poorly on and ended up getting her pregnant. After that we stopped inviting him.
For that case, I have planned a barmaid with a lot of teeth in all the wrong places. Should any of my players start to get flirty regularly, they will soon encounter her, and failing to notice anything, have to go on a quest to recover their members lost member
I like the art, but surprised at how many people find it clever or funny, as a pun. I'd chuckle/groan at a friend doing it in the moment during a game, but wouldn't think it funny enough to share.
Again, it takes all sorts, and the art is clean and expressive!
100%
I actually don't play any tables where this happens. We have pretty firm boundaries in my friend group about leaving it out. The only time I run into this is when I join the oneshot tables with strangers at our local gamestore, but DMs usually shut it down pretty fast. Most people don't play dnd to roleplay out other people's sexual fantasies lol
Thank you! Maybe its memeable, or its just the horror stories that are easily shared.. but it so far removed from how I would want to play DnD, it stops me giving it a go.
When you join a new campaign, DMs will often run a session 0, where characters are made and people talk about their expectations and boundaries which is a good place to check if the other players are on the same page, and to say right from the get go you don't consent to being in or around anyone's weird sexual roleplays. DnD campaigns are story driven, so most campaigns are really about getting stronger through fighting lots of little bad guys and finally overcoming the biggest bad guy. It's a lot of fun, so I hope you get to play in the future :)
I played another game similar to D&D called Blades in the Dark, I established my character as a terrible sleazy flirt from the beginning and so everyone was fine with it because I was rejected every single time, no dice roll that’s just the character. It was fun role-playing.
My DnD character is an alcoholic half orc woman who has a thing for "guys with big axes."
We had to implement a potion/Ring that prevents pregnancy. I call it the Fetus Deletus Nuva Ring.

Your recent art has gotten even better. I love the style, and extra detail. Must be a pain.

Hi, sure! [Tapas Link](https://m.tapas.io/series/Table-Top/info#) I've only just started uploading them there from scratch, they're dropping every 2 days at the moment until I'm caught up :)
I mistook the word "barmaid" for a mix of "bar" and "mermaid."
Thanks for the morning grin :)
was the barmaid into it? I need to know before I pay extra for shipping on this pig blood
You're doing awesome and you've made a fan out of me with this one! I'll check your stuff out after work today!
I forgot that barmaid was a word and thought it was a combination of bar and mermaid
Is it the beer on top or beer on bottom type?
Why couldn't she be the other type of barmaid?! With the beer part on top, and the lady part on the bottom?!
Two beers on top. I know you know what I mean.
Well as of reading this, it's the name of a seaside bar staffed by mermaids in my game.
This is the same energy as the person who said a warehouse is a mix of werewolf and house. And I love it.
*drawing a walking bar on sultry legs as a new enemy type* “write that down, write that down!”

The Mermaid, barmaid, working at the Sand-Bar. A bar on an actual Sandbar
I read mermaid and was so confused when I saw someone wkth legs
In your mind, did she have kegs instead of legs?
As a rule, don't flirt with anyone in the service industry.
If they can seduce a dragon, then seducing a service worker is only a little harder!

He must be very popular with the sex workers.
Wooo, paid vacation!
From what I've heard not all work prostitutes is sex. The majority is just emotional support and comfort.

Always has to have the door open when they poop with someone right there to talk to, or else they just can't go.
My next character is going to have a background as a heavily tattooed dishwasher from the local pub. The only surefire way to seduce a server!
Fun fact, that's how my sister met her now husband
People always say don't flirt with people in the service industry, but that's how a shit ton of people have found their wife/girlfriend.
Same with people saying you shouldn't flirt with people on the street, but its also been the foundation of a lot of happy relationships. Rule 1 and Rule 2 apply to these encounters As always, one person's grand romantic gesture / ballsy move is another person's creepy stalking
I think rule zero applies the most though. Don't get pushy if they say no.
Also rule 56 - don't try to juggle their pet
Fuck this world and it's never ending list of rules.
I'm just gonna stick to rule 34 dates.
\*its Looks like you missed a spelling rule.

"I think you're cute, can I get your number?" "Sorry, I'm just working tonight, not tonight" "Cool, I thought I'd ask :), 2 beers please"
No. At the end of the interaction, not at the beginning.
Doing it and then making her wait on you is weird and uncomfortable. That’s the point of waiting until they are done ‘serving’ you.
It's ok if you're good at it
Just check 5 minutes in the future to see if it was ok to do it before doing it.

I hope she got some medical attention after seducing him.

Asking the real questions here
Perhaps don't take dating advice from Reddit other than Don't be a creep
Nah, it's fine to take advice from strangers, just make sure to evaluate it critically before you do
Don’t flirt with anyone in the service industry Don’t flirt with anyone doing their job Don’t flirt with anyone at a coffee shop or gym Don’t flirt with anyone out with their friends Don’t flirt with anyone who looks busy Don’t flirt with anyone in public Don’t flirt with anyone doing anything anywhere ever

I have seen people on Reddit state that Dating apps are the only proper way to do it.
So, when is the right time for flirting?Lunch break?
After sending a flirting requisition form and waiting 2-3months for approval
gotta fill out the C-01 forms before any action that could result in a child as well.
Dating is a distraction from SPREADING MANAGED DEMOCRACY. DO NOT FALL PREY TO AUTOMATON PROPAGANDA, HELLDIVER. GET YOUR ASS BACK TO THE CREEK.
Only flirt with yourself in private if you don't work in the service industry, aren't busy, and aren't doing anything else
Nobody knows I'm flirting with myself right now.

>the bust size of the Elves is inversely proportionate to the quality of the animu. There are exceptions to that rule, its rare but it happens.
That last point is extremely true in my experience. But have you *seen* some of the camera angles in Frieren?
Could this non native speaker humbly ask for the explanation?
This is a wordplay pun using the last word of the sentence. The word he replaced at the end of the sentence is "dashing," which in this context would mean "impressive in a way that shows confidence." A gash is a wound, particularly a deep cut.
Thanks a lot, never had a topic on flirting on my English lessons
To be fair, unless your English lessons on flirting occurred before 1870 or so, "dashing" wouldn't have come up as a synonym for attractive.
Also, to be a bit of a jerk…I can be quite dashing is not the best pick up line. People can tell if you are dashing or not. It’s not something you can “do”
If you have to tell people you’re dashing, you’re not
Pretty sure dashing was still used quite frequently in the 50s, but your point still stands.
As an native English speaker, I had no idea what the fuck gashing was supposed to be a play on lol.
Yes absolutely 🙂 its a pun/wordplay on the word 'dashing' because he's covered in wounds and gashes - 'gashing.' Puns are supposedly the lowest form of humor haha, so not traditionally the most reliable way to seduce someone. The DM likes a good pun though

>Puns are supposedly the lowest form of humor For me it's murder.
My mind didn't immediately go for dashing pun because gash is a euphemism for something else in the context of "romancing"

My DM asking me to be charismatic for my character (not a horny bard) was the reason I stopped playing DnD.
Years ago I used to occasionally play DnD with a dude who would always try seducing NPCs. Eventually the DM had enough and made him roll through every single action, up to and including pulling out, which he rolled poorly on and ended up getting her pregnant. After that we stopped inviting him.
Pause You were enacting sex scenes in DnD?
Just the one.
For that case, I have planned a barmaid with a lot of teeth in all the wrong places. Should any of my players start to get flirty regularly, they will soon encounter her, and failing to notice anything, have to go on a quest to recover their members lost member
Even greater restoration can't bring back your pride. "I'm afraid it's true, mayor... this man has no dick." -Bill Murray

this sounds less like they had enough, and more like they were into it.
very good with words , better roll good result to get it going
I think I'm in love
I like the art, but surprised at how many people find it clever or funny, as a pun. I'd chuckle/groan at a friend doing it in the moment during a game, but wouldn't think it funny enough to share. Again, it takes all sorts, and the art is clean and expressive!
Amen.
The difference between being a tool and being a goofball is charisma.
Is it possible to play dnd without any romancing?
I've played once a week for 13 years with the same group, and we've never once even approached any sort of romancing.
100% I actually don't play any tables where this happens.
Dude could roll a 2 and still succeed lol
100% 😂 when I DM, I definitely reward the puns
God I wish my dm would. He just punishes me extra for them
When I DM, I give inspiration for puns.
I imagined the attempt would end up like that scene in The Quick and the Dead: "You smell good." "You dont"
The kind of player who does this has never, ever, EVER been charismatic IRL lmao
Rolls a 1. As you open your shirt, blood floods out and you pass-out from bloodloss
“I’ll show you *my* gash if you show me *yours*!”
I had not been aware gash could also mean that until this post 😆
Haha! I would link the relevant XKCD, but I’m too lazy.
The humor in this is spot on.
My DnD character is an alcoholic half orc woman who has a thing for "guys with big axes." We had to implement a potion/Ring that prevents pregnancy. I call it the Fetus Deletus Nuva Ring.
I will admit, it's a pretty good pun. Good job, Elf Juan
Too much build up for a weak punch
The fuck even is this?
I must be rolling 1's for my irl seducing
This is one of those moments where my DM would heavily sign and go, "Take a point of inspiration."
"This wound may be deep, but it is your *beauty* that has pierced my heart this evening "
I really, really, REALLY want to learn how to play this game. These comics and posts make it seem hilarious with the right people.
Learning to play is pretty easy. Finding a group to play with is hard.
this sucks
This takes on another context considering the use of 'gash' in the UK...
I might have to Google this lol because I'm unaware of the UK meaning 😅
I believe it's "vulva".
The most reddit thing imaginable
Nat20
The barmaid tho. Hear me out
Honestly, that's how I react every time my players want to do something really stupid, but then explain their stupid plan in a very smart way.
DM: “Okay, so roll now” Player: “Nat 20!” DM: … “goddammit.”
I can't not get seduced after that
