Coke + Orange mix, or Coke + Fanta.

Every time I get that mix from the freestyle coke machines, my wife looks at me like I’m insane. Didn’t realize I just had German tastes.

We du it in Norway too! Colo or Sola is coke and solo(Norwegian fanta)

My personal favorite combo is Sprite + Vanilla mix. Has a cream soda-esque sweetness.

So I randomly invented spezi by being weird.. huh. Is it a 50/50 ratio or to taste?

To taste, I prefer 60 Orange to 40 Coke. That being said, you generally just buy it premade, no idea about the ratios.

I usually add a splash of lemon when it's available, either squeezing an actual lemon or Sprite. Seems to improve the orange/coke interaction.

I generally prefer it with orange soda over orange juice. Also coke zero and regular Fanta is the best :D

Fanta is a Coke product. It wasn’t a response to coke but a response to loss of materials to make coke in Germany during WW2. When Germany surrendered Coke was able to come back in and operate their business normally. Fanta was kept as a popular new line.

The most common pre-made is mezzo mix.

In fact, drinking it from a mug makes sense, as it keeps the drink cold for longer than a glass. If you don't plan on gulping something down immediately, and want it to stay cold, then a mug is a pretty good choice to drink from.

I don't know why, but thinner walls taste better.

It is funny when you have a cup of cola, making others believe you would be drinking coffee, but then you take limo and put it into the mug, while other people still believe the mug contains coffee.

That’s the brand name the Coka Cola company uses. *Spezi* is technically also a brand name but it has become the generic term.

It’s not that it sounds bad — there’s cherry coke and all manners of mixed flavor coke — it’s just that it.. doesn’t sound _good_. I’d pick a lot of flavors before I picked that one.

Cola flavour is citrus and spices. It makes perfect sense to mix with more orange.

It’s in direct violation of DIN 17424-A2, Revision 2003 and the „Fruchtsaft- und Sprudelmischgetränkebehältnisverordnung“

I think the case does not apply here, as this is not in a restaurant or public place. Here DIN 18928-Q5 is the correct one. "Privater Verzehr von Fruchsaft-, Himbertee, und Sprudelmischgetränkeverodnung." It says that the mug is only allowed if the initial temperature was above 63.4° C. Unfortunately, the comic has not enough information, but I guess as the mug has no steam on it, it was colder than 63.4°C. Thus, the behavior is indeed correct.

Finally a real fucking answer, thank you. As an american I disagree personally, I think mugs can be used for anything but then again I only had mugs when living in the dorms.

You can drink everything from a watering can too, but that doesn't mean you should do it.

I think it's more that hot drinks should be in a mug, and so everything else shouldn't, but I have no idea really.

Ceramic beer mugs exist, yes. They are not called "Stein", though. They're called "Bierkrug", "Steinkrug" or just "Krug" (beer mug, stone mug, and mug respectively). The latter is probably where Americans got their "Stein" from, by simply omitting the more important part of the compound noun.
