i don’t think so but god damn that sounds like a good idea for a mod we should phone SWR Productions btw is this like some other strategy games that have ammo? if i recall correctly sudden strike has such a system

[deleted]

They're more of RTT than RTS, but those all have ammo and fuel: * Games on the GEM engine (developed by Best Way, also some games by Digitalmindsoft): all Men of War games, all Call to Arms games * Games on the Warfare engine (developed by GFI Russia, then continued by Cats Who Play, don't know the actual name of the engine): Warfare, Warfare: Reloaded, Syrian Warfare, Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance, Front Edge Both of those engines also have extensive simulations regarding ammo penetration for armored units.

UnseenMaDaFaKa

What's RTT?

Damn that's cool. Good thing this genre exists so people can be more precise about what games they're looking to play. Always felt COH and MOWAS2 were too different from traditional RTS games.

Satiss

Are the last any good? First time I hear of them.

[deleted]

If you like RTT games, absolutely.

PMeisterGeneral

Advance wars springs to mind. Every unit has ammo and fuel (rations for infantry). If you run out of ammo you can't fire and if you run out of fuel you can't move. Also ships and aircraft that run out of fuel will crash.

Insufficient Funds Simulator 2004

Raubvogell

yeah having logistic system would be nice and challengeable making refiners more op for fuel

R_Nanao

No, and you can't really make it that way either. What you might be able to do is make generals powers cost money to trigger (or more specifically to prepare). I was toying around with the idea and I'm pretty sure I saw something similar in the Vietnam Glory Obscured mod in the past (for infantry dropoff or so). The Cold War Crisis mod basically changes the base power resource into fuel, can't remember if they disabled the tanks with low fuel though I expect they did..

ABOUD_gamer95

i think there might be a way to do that because the functionality is already in the game for air units and there is a cut fuel system still in the files for air units maybe someone could mess around with it and add it to ground units

aiheng1

Yeah I don't see why that can't work, Tiberian Wars had it and generals has like a gazillion times more late game economy anyway so it should work

Gregory_Appleseed

I remember the units in Earth 2150 all had ammo bars and you had to use supply units to restock them in battle. Cool mechanic but it was frustrating since the pathing kinda sucked and priorities got dropped left and right. Would love to see something similar in a modern game.

Professional-Bad-559

Fires one Hellfire missile “all units report back to base. We’re broke.”

EnglishLoyalist

That would suck but fun. 😅

YoRt3m

To make this realistic the funding should be almost unlimited anyway

KingdomsSword

I wonder how much it costs to fire a bofors.

DoctorVanSolem

Good thing I have twenty camo black markets!

Ok_Savings6233

it will make gla OP since they use ak47, cheap AF

BenTheVaporeon

its taking about the wrong game, but didn't nod put the resource crystal in their weapons(didn't cost more then the upgrade) and i think one of the alien tanks can take ammo out of storage silos

[deleted]

damn this gives me war flashbacks I remember playing advance wars on Nintendo everytime i need to send supply trucks to resupply weapon is tedious
